Wow! Wasn’t expecting to find authentic Korean food here, but this is awesome. There was a friendly lady working by herself on a Friday. It felt as close to a home cooked lunch as ever.

Reminded me of going home for the holidays. I felt like my grandma was showing me love through her cooking ❤️ food was delicious!

My husband and I tried this place out for a birthday celebration. The service was phenomenal, the food was even better. Small restaurant but the atmosphere was great. Will definitely be back here again soon!

The lady was so kind, but the food was ... horrible. I missed my wife and her food a lot. I should stayed home with her. :)

If I could give more than 5-stars I would! Not just for the food, but the best service ever and the reason we will be going back there is all because of Kimmy, she does everything by herself there and was outstanding and just a very special person. We will ABSOLUTELY be back and this is now our go-to date night spot without a doubt!

Stopped in for a mid afternoon snack and hot tea. Owner was the only one working, so it took a while to get our food. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry and could be patient. Was well worth the wait and would recommend to anyone.

Don't go here! The owner/cook wears the same pair of gloves for everything: food prep, cooking, waiting on customers, clearing used plates. It is absolutely disgusting and a health hazard. Bathroom was also missing soap.

Four of us had lunch at Midori for our first visit. The kind lady, who is the owner and chef took very good care of us. We enjoyed the Bimbop, Tteokbokki, Kimchi, steamed pork Gyoza, Miso Soup, Bibim Bap, Seafood Soondubu and Chicken Bulgogi. She brought me fish sauce on request and the pickled sweet pepper was a complimentary dish! The interior is nothing fancy. Looks like there is outdoor seating. It is BYOB. The main thing is the food is very good and the owner is very nice. Do not expect the trappings of a fancy restaurant or super fast service. This is more like being invited into a wonderful Korean cook's home. We will go back!

A great little Korean place hidden away. The food was awesome, they've got all the big dishes you'd expect; definitely recommend the tteokbokki. The folks running the place are super friendly too. Check 'em out if you're in the area.

Very nice restaurant with home-style cooking. The atmosphere is cozy with a small radio in the corner and what I imagine is the owner serving and cooking. She was very kind, offering many little extra sides and was very fun to chat with. It had all the good experiences I think of when it comes to Korean cooking. The dishes were all very good. Nothing too fancy, but good pricing, quantity, and taste..

This is the best restaurant I have been to in a very long time. The owner is so sweet and welcoming and completely accommodating. I wanted the Tteokbokki but do not like spicy things which is how it is normally served, she was more than happy to make me it without any spice and it was delicious!!!!!!!! I love it here!!!!!

I love Korean food. I REALLY love Korean food. And I keep waiting for Korean food to have it’s Moment. You know, the kind of moment that turns into me being able to get legit, delicious, actual Korean food somewhere other than NYC. So, I was going to be driving down through Connecticut on an all day/night round trip from Central Vermont to JFK and back. Obviously, I needed to eat, but I also wanted a really good meal. Spoiler Alert: I ALWAYS want a really good meal. So I took to Yelp to check out my options. I was looking for Korean. Midori was listed as a Korean and Japanese restaurant with a pretty extensive Korean menu and, judging from my perusal of some of the more recent views there, the restaurant changed ownership in the past year. The current Midori does not serve sushi, but does have Korean and Japanese dishes. If you are vegetarian or vegan you are, unfortunately, out of luck here. I don’t eat beef, pork or poultry, so it was a little challenging for me. Also because it was HOT HOT outside and I couldn’t face eating a soup/noodle dish or Soondubu (which I LOVE in colder weather…) But I was still able to find multiple dishes to try. In fact, I was served so much food I could not finish it. Which is SAYING SOMETHING for me!! First, may I say, Midori is PRECISELY the kind of place I want to support. It appears to be entirely run by one woman who is doing everything right in front of you. As in the limited kitchen is right behind the counter. The entire space is just a storefront in a little strip mall. I LOVE to see someone hustling and working to own their own spot and do everything from scratch. When I got to Midori, late afternoon on a Tuesday in July, I was the only customer. And despite the fact that the (presumed) owner was my waitress and cook, service was spot on. This isn’t fine dining folks. So take those pretensions elsewhere. There is no alcohol. You don’t come here for drinks. There also is no Banchan, despite some misleading pics and comments online. You can get two little, plastic cups with kimchi and pickles in place of Banchan. But I’m still not willing to deduct any points because I codlin’t have eaten Banchan even if she’d served me some. I ordered 4 things: Tteokbokki appetizer (rice cake with noodles, fish cake and vegetables in spicy broth); Kimchi Kimbap (fish sausage, stir fried kimchi, Korean pickled radishes); side of Kimchi; and Gyoza Salad (fried Gyoza tossed with green salad and delicious dressing). Full Disclosure: I’ve eaten A LOT of Korean food in my life, but I’d never eaten Tteokbokki and only once had I eaten Kimbap (which, if you know, is sort of like a Futomaki, but very Korean and different flavor profile - i.e., HIGHLY sesame rice when done authentically). The Tteokbokki arrived first and was HUGE. Like a full dinner sized plate full of The Most Delicious food and sauce. It was so freaking big I referred back to my menu because I figured it couldn’t actually be an appetizer. LOL It was DELICIOUS. On every level. Different, delightful textures and mouthfeel, fabulous and spicy sauce. I tried to pace myself. But I’d already eaten the entire container of Kimchi (served in a plastic, half pint “to go” container - check your pretensions at the door!), even though I tried not to… Since my first Kimbap ever was very meh, I was reluctant to order it. Also Kimbap is BIG. You get ONE Kimbap. (Not like Japanese sushi rolls where you order a bunch.) But I was super curious about “fish sausage” and I LOVE pickled radishes. I was NOT disappointed. That Kimbap was FANTASTIC. The owner/chef told me I should dip it in my Tteokbokki sauce and she’d given me extra sauce. GOOD TIP!! Although You don’t need to dip her Kimbap in anything. You can just eat it piece by delicious piece and savor the flavors of each one. SO GOOD. The Gyoza Salad is, frankly, pretty genius: a mixed salad with very tasty sesame type dressing tossed with fried Gyoza. I LOVED my meal at Midori. I LOVE to see a woman owning and running her own place and serving up food and knowledge.

Horrible Customer Services !!! So I ordered udon noodles I stated “Mild”.over chicken why would I say mild in the first place. I did not order the soup version not the noddles I wanted. I got soup instead but I never asked for a soup if I asked for it mild….Any other professional restaurant would have handed this with customers satisfaction better to just redid my order ! She was RUDE food is decent but I never asked for a $13.00 soup with the biggest udon ever who eats these thick noodles you can’t even enjoy it “I didn’t order soup or else why would I say can you make it mild!!

The restaurant has warm, inviting, comfy and cozy ambiance. The owner lady is such a nice nice person. And her soondubu dish is just like a homemade one, like a comfort food. She made it mild (instead of spicy) for my 87 year old mom who just had her surgery few weeks ago. My mom who is such a  fussy eater, loved her soondubu very much. I tried Dol-sot Bibim Bap here and it was awesome. It was fresh , nice and hot . The ingredients were well matched . I will try again next time too . This restaurant is in a little strip mall. The kitchen is in full view from the dining room similar to a greasy spoon diner. I ordered two apps and a main dish. Apps included Korean rolls and fried dumplings served on a salad garnished with crispy noodles. The main was a delicious Bibimbap. Flavours were complex with earthy, sweet, smoky and umami all in one. I would recommend this restaurant for those who have yet to try Korean food and those that are familiar with the cuisine.

Midori is a mom & pop hole in the wall restaurant that serves Korean and Japanese cuisine. The owners are an elderly Korean couple and there is space for around 20 patrons at a time. Good traditional Korean food and Japanorean style cuisine (i.e. udon and kim bap, which is the Korean version of sushi). We didn't order any sushi and most of the patrons besides us were ordering from the Korean menu. In fact, three of the five tables (including us) were Koreans in search of Korean food. Not a lot of banchan (side dishes), but the kimchi was very good.

Awesome Japanese and Korean foods mostly prepared buy husband i ordered Jjampong spicy Udong i missed in Japan it was very mouth watering Japanese noodles w/seafoods. Don't forget to start w/ their Miso soup and Steamed Gyoza very healthy and mainly Yaki Soba w/chicken and vegetables Raf got Chicken Noodles Soup and Kimchi. It was fantastically prepared by a very accomodating couple. And the prices, not bad.

Midori is an intimate venue, six or seven tables, seems like a family-driven restaurant, that serves incredible foods, including sushi/sashimi dishes. My favorite is a pork/squid very spicy dish, my husband's a sizzling casserole ground beef dish. My son loves the sushi. We have been there a number of times over the past few years and have found this spot impeccable in every regard. The hot tea is out of this world, as are the punches. No kidding, a wonderful experience!

It needs an interior renovation but the food is excellent. Very healthy and traditional Korean and Japanese fare. Haven't tried the sushi but it looked like it was good quality. Let me begin by saying that I am a fan of Korean food and frequently visit "Little Korea" in NYC. This is a family run Korean restaurant in a strip mall not far from Quinnipiac University. The bulgogi was very good and the sushi was fresh and made to order. Service was good. Overall, a pleasant surprise with excellent basic Korean food. We are planning on returning when next in the area.

I stopped here for an early dinner. Walking in, I saw it is a small place with about 6 or so tables. Looking over the menu, I chose the Dol-Sot Bibim Bap ($15) with spicy sauce which had the dish served in a hot stone pot along with a salad and 2 sides of pickled vegetables. The salad came right away. The Bibim Bap arrived 10 minutes . The meal was good with a generous portion of veggies and rice. The only negative comment would be that the portion of ground beef in the dish was about a tablespoon worth. They also offer sushi and noodle soups.

The Korean staples such as japchae, bulgi, and scallion seafood pancake were absolutely delicious! Freshly made and not overly salty or greasy. Did not have sushi or any other Japanese dishes on the menu, but definitely one of the best Korean food I ever had.

You don't get all the bells and whistles of a NYC/Northern NJ Korean meal (a dozen banchan to start off the meal and barbecue in the middle of the table) but what you do get is fresh, well seasoned, authentic, down home cookin korean food. They have sushi and noodles and all that jazz at Midori but the real value is in the basic korean food. Pa Jun (scallion/seafood "pancake"), japchae (bean noodles with vegetables and ground beef), and, of course, bulgogi absolutely hit the spot. Not too greasy, fresh out of the "kitchen" (korean mother behind the counter, cooking up a storm), and not too salty (surprisingly, for the salt heavy korean diet). So, if you're looking for excellent takes on basic korean dishes, Midori is the way to go, in New Haven County at least. They don't serve alcohol but BYOB with a dollar per person charge.
