Great fall apart brisket and coleslaw and great service. Their carrot cake is moist as well. Will definitely be back to try other options.

Small portions and pricey. $14 for a piece of cornbread and two kid size portions of the meat combo of sausage and brisket. Disappointing

My first time going into a Mission bbq.. I've had the food catered and always liked it so when we were deciding what to eat in the area so we wouldn't miss our movie, we popped in. I absolutely love the simplicity, indoor picnic feeling and being surrounded by all the nostalgia and heros. There was more than could be taken in with our brief visit. The walls are literally covered with images and artifacts of heroism from all of our great country's branches of the military and first responders. The food is great! The brisket was amazing and filling. Not many places have really good collards, this place does! I wish I had taken pictures of our meal, I was too busy taking pictures of everything else and totally forgot!

Attended a private event. No service needed since it was buffet style. Mac n chz was good, green beans and cornbread were excellent. Brisket and chicken were disappointing, both overcooked and dried out.

I got food poisoning. Mission bbq is one of my favorite bbq places to go to however I might be ruined on it. I ordered the brisket and 2 sides and a drink. My wife ordered the pulled pork one side and a drink at this location around 7:30 on 8/14/2024 on the way home we both felt nauseous. Later that night we both woke puking and consistently needing to use the bathroom. It's laced for the last two days. I find this offensive. Someone really needs to checkout what's going on at this location. Like I mentioned I eat at mission do very often. This was my first time visiting this location. After what happened I don't think I will ever go back to any location at this point! I called the store and spoke to Ashley who identified herself as the front end manger. She said " well you the only one has said anything" I guess it takes more then 2 people getting sick for it to be a serious problem. Beware

I placed an online order and got the 3 meats platter XXL which came with 5 sides and a drink the food is not only delicious but the servings are very nice and not small by any means, I got pulled chicken, turkey and sausage with jalapeño and cheese. Everything is so delicious and cooked to perfection. The sides I got were collard greens green beans, baked beans and coleslaw and everything taste just fabulous. Everything is seasoned so beautifully and cooked to perfection, they give you plenty of food so for $40 I basically got, a really moist delicious piece of cornbread five sides in which one of my sides I picked was the strawberry shortcake and I got a little brownie on the side as an extra little dessert and the size of the brownie is like half the pan so they put all the different sauces in my bag and silverware and I got lemonade as my drink that also is so good and house made! everything was really really good and this was my first time eating here but for an online order, it exceeded my expectations. Give them a try if you haven’t already they’re very very good! attention to detail on the portion sizes are amazing for the price, that was definitely worth $40 for everything that I got and everything tasted delicious . I will definitely be back!!! Thank you.

Picked up babybacks, beans, and creamy Cole slaw. All very good. And they help a great cause, our veterans. The photo is the front of Mission BBQ, as it is right in a flight path into the airport on Waters Avenue.

Food was so so - bread was dry I asked for fresher bread and there was no difference- the bread is light and thick and gross combined with the BBQ- they need a different bread vendor and people to do a taste check/ test panel to come up with a better bread for there sandwiches other than that it was ok - definitely not the best I’ve ever had for sure

Mission BBQ is one of the best BBQ spots in Tampa. I remember the first time I ate here in 2019, and everyone stood up at 12 pm. and saluted the flag and said the pledge of allegiance. This place is Veteran Owned and operated and absolutely loves it. Everything about it screams AMERICA.

One of the best barbecue places I've been to. Affordable, with amazing food and taste. I personally like the KC Classic and Pulled Pork Sandwich. I would take a bullet for the person who created the Baked Beans recipe. Mac and Cheese is also decent.

Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Been going since they first opened.

Brisket and sausage were good. They have a selection of sauces at the table. The green beans were tasty, coleslaw not so much. Fries were crispy and seasoned. This is a counter service place.

The experience was great , we had a meat sampler and all of them tasted fabulous. The cheese burger was also good it tasted like heaven and nice service!

OMGOSH!!! So on point with EVERYTHING!!! We go about every 2 weeks. This place is the total experience and super family friendly.

Delicious! The ribs were quite divine. The Smoke Ribeye was promising but was a bit too dry and chewy for me. Too bad because there were plenty of underlying tastes dying to get out. Cheers! Update on 21 March 2019: consistently good, friendly staff. Black plate specials can be hit or miss but regular menu items are usually consistently delicious. Update on 16 November 2019: asked for moist brisket this evening but received mostly dried out pieces :-( Ribs were good. So so experience this trip. Hope the brisket gets better. Update on 30 April 2022: not impressive today. Ribs were dried out. No one seems to care. Mission BBQ can do so much better, I have seen it. Today was another low point. Very sad and disappointed. 😞😞😞 Update on 20 April 2023: Why are there so many tiny pieces of bone fragments in the rib meat? Small enough to miss, big enough to shatter your teeth. The ribs tasted good otherwise. Portions of fries shrank. Size of the corn bread grew. No one seemed to care. Cashier lacked basic customer service skills today. Update on 3 May 2024: Teeth-shattering shards of bone fragments continue to be in the racks of ribs (see photos). Watch for them. Not safe for childen. No one cared. Brisket is the better choice. Ask for moist cuts, the lean cuts are a waste of time and money. Update 3 June 2024: Fewer teeth-shattering shards of bone fragments today but they are still noticeably there. Brisket was appropriately moist but ribs were dry and underwhelming. Friendly staff albeit a bit distracted.

We love mission BBQ in all the locations we have been to ( Maryland, Ohio, Michigan, and Florida). Their food is very good, nice personnel, and fair prices. Their half yard bird is the best! Baked beans in this location were kind of different though. I liked it better in other locations with less sauce.

We were on vacation in Tampa - it was our last night - we searched for the best/highest rated bbq restaurant and because we had fractious kids we chose take out. We couldn't have been more disappointed. Our order hadn't been bagged up so the person who gave it to us kept opening the boxes to check who knows what. The portions were paltry and not delicious We didn't get everything we ordered and paid for ... we didn't notice our drinks were missing until we got back to our airbnb. Cannot recommend.

Dana never asked if we needed a menu or if we had ever been there before, my friend in Chattanooga had talked it up we went there instead of the beach we were so disappointed I'll never go back or recommend that place to anyone Sonny's is so so much better!!

First time in the restaurant and came a little before noon and had to wait till the national anthem was done at 12:00 before ordering .❤️❤️❤️❤️ No problem waiting . Respect !!! Great BBQ : had the Brisket w/fat , 1/2 yard bird , and Salmon . All were great !!! Sides of potato salad and coleslaw . Wasn't sure if I was going to like the potato salad but got to try it before ordering . Both were great . Because it was my first time there the manager gave me a complimentary banana pudding was good but not as good as Grandma's .

By far one of the best BBQ restaurants we have been to. We're out here from Commiefornia, and decided to stop at a competitors location. Read some not so good reviews, but did read that Mission is the place to go. So off we went!! Upon walking in, we were greeted by staff (everyone is so friendly in Florida). Order our food and sat down. If your not local and looking for a good BBQ place to eat, this is the one!!!!

The three meat plate is a good way to try some great BBQ. And the sweet tea is sweet 😋.

Took my Son for Spring break and first time to see Spring training Baseball game in Tampa. This restaurant was in walking distance from our hotel so my Son picked it to go eat at. If you love BBQ and meat this place is your #1 choice it ROCKED! And it honors Military, and FR and Law Enforcement. If I weren't in Florida I would have swore that I was in Texas because of how good this restaurant is. I'm not a big meat eater but my Son loved his choice for dinner. If you're in the area or visiting I highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent service and great food, only reason I gave it 4 is because there fries are hit and miss,mostly miss,I eat there regular and the fries are limp and lifeless.

Always feel right at home here. The atmosphere is nostalgic, the service is always fantastic, and the BBQ is just amazing. I have been here a bunch and never once left disappointed. As is the Mission way apparently, because the other locations we’ve visited were identical in experience. I couldn’t recommend a single dish because every single menu item is absolutely Fanta… yes I’ve eaten every single menu item over about 2 dozen visits. These days is so pleasing to be taken care of by a staff that acts as though they realize how expensive it can be to dine out, and serves you accordingly. I’m always anxious for my next visit to Mission!

We had a great experience for our first time! The staff was super helpful in explaining the menu. The food was amazing! They even gave us complimentary desserts to welcome us. Easily the best BBQ I’ve had in a long time.

We walked to Mission BBQ from the Country Inn and Suites. We took our 1 year old. As soon as we walked in we were greeted like family. The woman at the cash register gave our kid a cup to play with while we looked over the menu. We ordered the brisket and brisket sandwich, baked beans, cheesy potatoes, and french fries. Everything was absolutely delicious. The fresh lemonade was also amazing. Two different styles of high chairs (wood or plastic) and booster seats lined up by the trash cans.

This is one of the very best bbq chains around. Great brisket and the Mac is killer! Love the support to our military too! Love this place so much we had them cater our wedding rehearsal dinner.

Menu is misleading it says baby back gribs 5 bones 3 something 10Bones ect.something I was charged 3 something per bone. Is this correct because it seems misleading if it is.

The pulled chicken sandwich was so delicious. Loved the atmosphere, and the service was great. From Michigan, was down in Florida for a business trip, but the next time I go down to that area I will seek out a Mission BBQ to share with my friends/family.

If you are looking for very good BBQ style meat, here's the place! I took the taster plates with three meats. I choose Brisket, ribs and pulled pork. All three were great! Only thing thought, and it's entirely on me, the brisket was really dry, but I took lean, so next time, I'm going for moist. There's an assortment of 6 sauces on the table. Great to continue the Tasters experience. All in all, good service, good food and good ambiance.

On this particular day I ordered the 5 bone baby back ribs, green beans & cheesy potato’s. I couldn’t eat my food the baby back ribs were so dry and salty. The greens beans were way over salted the cheesy potato’s were cold, corn bread is dry. This meal was very expensive to be disappointed. The only thing I enjoyed was the tea.

Pulled pork is always good here.

The brisket was juicy, so yummy 😋 My kiddos had ribs with mac & cheese. I would have given it 5 stars 🌟 if the side portions were a bit bigger.

Wife and I stumbled upon this spot exploring Tampa and hands down, some of the best BBQ i have ever had. Pulled Pork sandwiches? 10/10 Cheesy chunk potatoes? 10/10 blueberry cobbler? 11/10. Beer was ice cold and the atmosphere was all Military. 10/10 recommend this spot

What fantastic BBQ! It's clearly the best in the city. I just wish there was a location in Clearwater, or at least Pinellas County. They put so much meat on a sandwich that I could easily take the extra home and make another one. Also, I don't have to order an entire plate of food to get one sandwich (like Sonny's BBQ); I can order just one, two, or however many sandwiches, and that's all I'd pay for. The prices are also very reasonable. I'd eat here far more often if it weren't for the fact that they're so far away.

DELICIOUS! The lean brisket had the best rinds, and the pulled pork was fabulous. We also loved the creamed corn, and the coleslaw! They had quick, fantastic customer service and reasonable prices. Of the six different sauces we sampled, our favorites were the Texas Twang and the KC Classic.

This place was amazing. Best fast BBQ and the best service I’ve ever had…even at nice restaurants. This is as good as it gets. Got two free desserts for coming for the first time. Everything was fresh and staff made sure of that. I’m so impressed!!!!

Definitely one of the best tasting BBQ yet! So delicious and flavorful. The spices were perfect and the sides were so good you could eat them by themselves. I had the savory brisket with the cheese potatoes, perfectly seasoned green beans, some fresh coleslaw and of course it wasn’t complete without the yummy 🤤 cornbread! And wait for it… perfect, warm, so southern-ly delicious peach cobbler! I hope you #enjoy every bite and save some room for seconds because I sure didn’t and I was so hungry I didn’t think to take pictures 🤷🏻‍♀️sorry! Maybe next time because their pulled chicken looked just as delicious 🫢.

We used Mission BBQ to cater our wedding reception and the experience from start to finish was exceptional! The food was amazing; we got many compliments on the meal we provided our guests. The staff were kind and professional and were great with attention to detail. We were hosted for a very generous tasting in the beginning of the booking process that we weren't expecting. The pricing was fair and portions at the event were great.

Absolutely worth visiting; incredibly nice staff, food is great- from the meats and sauces to the sides to the dessert, they really have done wonderful. Businesses like this who care are the ones who deserve patronage- stop in to support!

Okay, Prime Rib is for Steak Houses? Riiiiiight…..I had the prime rib because I’ve been wanting to try it. It wasn’t a Bern’s Steakhouse experience, but it wasn’t $74 either. I was most interested in how much smoke they could get into the meat without overcooking it. The Prime Rib I was served was Smokey and cooked as “spot-on” as “spot-on” can be for $14$ piece of “medium rare” beef. I am a Happy Camper-AGAIN! Thank you for your service Mission BBQ TPA-where many of the employees have been there for 6 years or longer! Thanks to Mission BBQ corporate for your continued support and respecting those who have served and those who still serve the USA! Kuuuudos!

Great atmosphere, Fantastic service and Russel made our first visit a memorable one. We got to try all the sides and dessert for being a first timer. Rich flavors and tender meats. No shortage on food quality. Absolutely recommend. The big truck outside was a great experience for the kids as well.

Great first experience. The staff were very welcoming. I was offered samples off the menu. I ordered the brisket meal that comes with corn bread and opted for the combo with a side Mac and Cheese. To my surprise a dessert was included. The food was delicious with ample serving sizes. I was greeted a few more times while I ate to make sure the meal tasted good. Craig stood out in particular and made sure I was taken care of. I will definitely be returning.

Amazing BBQ !! I have visited Mission 8 times now, and it has been delicious every time. The wet brisket is the best.

I wasn't looking for BBQ but, as I was driving along, I could smell the BBQ. When I found the source of the aroma, the carpark was very busy - 2 good signs already. I love brisket so I ordered a large helping with a side of beans. The brisket was juicy and melt-in-the-mouth tender and the beans, laced with more brisket, really hit the spot. The staff were super-friendly and made me feel very welcome. One of the best briskets I've ever had.

Quality BBQ served al a carte. Open kitchen where you can watch your food prepared. Friendly staff. In house made french fries. Very relaxed atmosphere with military and law enforcement memorabilia decorating the walls. They support Honor Flight for vets.
