Food was great aso service. Cafeteria style but not a problem.

Great food. Most of menu is also naturally gluten free and good for celiacs. Dedicated frier too.

The food is excellent, the staff is wonderful, the chicken is epic. Great menu. Well lit, and clean. We always enjoy going here. If you haven't stopped by and had a dinner, you have no idea what you are missing. If you pass by and don't stop in that is your loss. Don't forget to try the tres leches. We highly recommend this restaurant. Enjoy!

We absolutely LOVE this place! We drive from Myrtle Beach just to get this chicken, it's sooo good! I didn't get a picture because I dug right in. I got the half chicken white meat with green beans, yellow sauce, and an horchata. I am currently pregnant, and this meal hit the spot better than anything else I've had while pregnant so far. Mmm QUE RICO!! It was so good seeing them busy when we went in. I hope they never close and business stays busy for them! We love the food, staff, and atmosphere. Of course, we will be back!

The food was delicious. We got our food quickly and there was good service. The sauces are also tasty; I recommend the medium one.

The food here is outstanding. My family has been vacationing at Sunset beach every summer for as long as I can remember, and in recent years we make at least a couple stops at Que Rico. I never thought I would look forward to eating Peruvian food at the beach, but I certainly do now. Everything there is fantastic. My favorites are the chicken (of course) and beef empanadas.

Visiting from Illinois. The tacos were so good we had to go back again before leaving! Very friendly people working and they were knowledgeable and accommodating to my son's allergies.

MMM Que Rico used to be our local favorite restaurant but the quality of food and service has really dropped in the last few months. We used to get take out sometimes twice a week from here but we probably wont be back for a while. The food just isn't as good and trying to place a to go order has gotten more difficult. We called the other evening to place a to go order and were put on hold for 5 minutes then hung up on. I told my wife they were probably really busy so we decided to just go in and place our order. When we got there 10 minutes later the place was empty. What a shame that quality and service has dropped to much. The owners Walter and Suzanne are so sweet and we wish them the best. Hopefully they can turn things around.

My bf and I always go to have a brunch here on our day off. The staff are nice and the food is great. We really enjoy roasted chicken, fried yucca and Argentinian sausage and yes I love my boyfriend

Wish I could give this place more stars! A little different you walk in as in a cafeteria and place your order if eating in they give you a number and bring the food to you within 5 min. Gracious plenty of food. Must try the cookies. I think the correct name is alfajores or something like that they are marvelous! At the check out! They do a tremendous take out business. The mild sauce they have would love to have the recipe. Very good.

The best Peruvian food around. We eat here every time we're in town. The empanadas are excellent.

Start off by saying the food and customer service here has always been amazing we drive 30min each time we come sometimes 2xs a week, but this is now the 3rd time we have shown up during scheduled business hours and they are closed ( no post on fb or Google saying anything but them being open) I suggest to CALL before hand even if they are supposed to be open (Saturday at 1245pm)

The Torta is my favorite with a side of the chimichurri sauce!!!! I've tried about every Torta up and down the Grand strand. This one is the best. Headed back over from North Myrtle Beach tonight for dinner. It's that good. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wish I could give 6 stars.

The best kept secret in Calabash! We had the most amazing chicken empanadas, chicken tamale, plantains and roast chicken in town. The tamale was the size of my forearm and the empanadas were piping hot, full of flavor and great balance between savory and spicy.

We’ve been coming down to the area for years and never tried this place. I happened to have my mom down with me and she would up in emergency one day so after a long day in ER we stopped Stopped in just before closing. They graciously took our order and the food was outstanding. We decided to sit inside as the woman at the counter told us it was fine since they were cleaning up. But after about 10 minutes an older gentleman was giving us the stink eye and I asked him if he needed us to clear out. He said yes. Lol we packed up and headed out. Can’t fault them for that. The food is seriously insanely good. Go get some

Authentic Peruvian rotisserie chicken! Excellent food and nice side dishes. They also make Lomo Saltado but dropped the ceviche. It's always great food. How do I know? I was in Peru last year.

I cannot believe that in all of my time living in the area, I’ve only just tried this place. The chicken is PACKED with flavor and the empanadas are to die for. The chicken empanada is my absolute favorite. The filling is finely shredded, seasoned to a tee and the chimichurri that comes with it…. Wow. I worried that things would be too spicy (I’m sensitive to spices) but they have plenty of options. The only thing I haven’t cared for personally has been the coleslaw, and I think that’s totally a preference thing, nothing to do with quality. The staff is also freaking awesome. On one occasion, the staff allowed my DoorDash driver to pick up my Order after they had already closed because of an issue on DoorDashs end. On my second visit I wasn’t sure what the sauce that came with the empanadas was, so the woman behind the counter very nicely explained that it was a garlic chimichurri. I can tell by my interactions that all of the staff are kind people. Might be my new favorite spot in calabash.

My family is from Maryland but every time we go on vacation to myrtle , we stop by Mmm Que Rico because of all the variety of food they serve and the food taste amazing . Mrs. Susana and Mr. Walter and their staff always take good care of us, their kindly welcome and the great environment they provide is what always make us go there every time . Our family always order empanadas de carne with chimichurri sauce on the side. rotisserie chicken and fries , they are delicious! This time I personally ordered torta de milanesa and it was extremely good , also order yucca frita and plantains with a mango drink, also the refill is free . Muchas gracias por todo♥️

I found MMM Que Rico by doing a search for Calabash NC restaurants. I was intrigued when I discovered a Peruvian restaurant. As we were heading through Calabash on a trip further north, we decided to give it a try. Let me say, this restaurant did not disappoint us. The food was delicious, and the staff very helpful & friendly. Although we don’t travel this way very often, we’ll definitely be back to visit again!

Go here often. It's such a nice change from the usual fast food. It's always great and the people are very friendly.

This was some of the best Peruvian food I’ve ever had. My husband and I ordered a 1/2 rotisserie chicken with 2 sides, and empanadas. Let’s just say, we went back for seconds because it was so good. We come to Sunset Beach every year and we’re adding this to our annual list of things to do. My husband said he’d drive the 4 hours from where we live in Greensboro just to come eat here. Y’all have something special here!

The food was amazing! Best flan I've ever had. The green sauce they gave for the spinach and ricotta empanada put it over the top. The tamales were flavorful and meaty. The staff friendly and warm. Can't say enough good about this restaurant!!!

We came for the fajitas during lunchtime last month. After noticing the prices, we agreed to get a plate for one and to share it, with me getting an add on taco. Add-ons aren’t allowed unless you purchase two meals, so we got the one meal, and no taco. We were surprised to also find out that there’s a charge for waters and chip refills too, which I’m sure is because of the restaurant being in a tourist town. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and the atmosphere coupled with the prices aren’t enough for us to want to give it a second try - but we did appreciate the server who was attentive and apologetic for the policies.

The burritos are filling and huge for the price! Their plantians are ripe and sweet unlike other places. their extra hot chili sauce is also good. Service

"Bringing Authentic Latin American Food" is what they say and I wholeheartedly agree. Having traveled and worked in Latin America throughout my career, I think MMM Que Rico has some of the best I've ever tasted. Their empanadas are fantastic. My wife usually gets their taco salad as her go-to. Their seasoning is great and ingredients really add to their authentic taste. I highly recommend them.

They were out of chicken so I ordered shredded beef tacos instead and oh my god they were delicious. Other than a slight mixup with mild instead of hot/medium sauces. That was more my fault than anything. I ordered over the phone and it was ready quick. Best tacos I’ve had in a long time. The fresh slices of lime to squeeze really brought it over the top. Amazing.

I came in a week ago with my boyfriend and his grandparents, they’ve visited this restaurant before and he and I just moved to town. We’ve tried a couple different places and Mmm Que Rico was my favorite! I got a breast and a wing I think it was, I don’t know it might’ve been a thigh but I know it was really good! Full of flavor and very moist. I got fries and green beans as a side, I wish I got double green beans because they were the best fresh green beans I’ve ever had. But the fries were good too. At some point I wanted sauce for my food, and they aren’t the kind of place that waits on you, I think they just bring the food to the table but a woman (I failed to catch her name) was right there to get it for me! I never had to leave my table unless I wanted to refill my drink. Best experience and I will be back. And I’ll ask for my sauce in advance hahaha!

First time visit with friends....order from a wall board. Rotisserie chicken is a favorite so I tried 1/4 dark meat entree with fried yuca and plantains.....others got rice and red potatoes along with their yuca. It all looked and tasted delicious. Very well worth the recommendation that I had gotten to try them.

As a person with dietary restrictions and celiac disease I found plenty of options here. The establishment was clean and the prices were fantastic. I ended up eating there and taking food home for later. I live over an hour away and I will definitely be making a special trip back just for this. I've eaten at several other Peruvian restaurants in the Wilmington and triangle area but this one beats the pants off of those in both price and quality. The worst part of my experience was having to travel with that amazing smelling food in my car and not having the ability of eating it. Their food is so good it makes me consider moving to Calabash just to be in closer proximity.

The food was not the best. The restaurant is somewhat messy. They need to clean the place and rethink the food presentation. It has some potential but there's a long way to go.

The green beans are the best!!!

Picked up a whole roasted chix and sides.(yucca, beans & salad). All were delicious! But salad greens could have been a little fresher. The owner and staff were friendly. Will definitely return.

Second time eating here. Both times we received great service and outstanding food. We had the rotisserie chicken this visit and it was outstanding. Great flavors and freshly made. Already looking forward to our third visit when back in the area and will be trying the much recommended empanadas.

Perfect visit. I ordered the quesadillas and my guest had the 1/2 dark chicken with rice and beans and we split an order of plantains. The menu has plenty of options and the staff is so kind. Food was perfectly flavored and the wait was not long at all. We spoke w the male owner and he had great personality. The women that came around and delivered our food and cleaned the tables were so attentive and paid attention to the guests I would definitely recommend this restaurant and also will be back many times. Highly recommend 👌 not a huge crowd and very moderate pricing

Pretty ridiculous to close on Saturdays ans Sundays but not make it clear on their website or change the times on google. We drove 40 minutes round trip to find it closed on a Saturday night and now have to find something else to eat in a city we do not know. Edited to add: the website still says they are open on Saturdays. Horrible business practice to close on a Saturday and not change the information on the website

Absolutely authentic and fantastic flavor. Tres Leches cake is the best I’ve ever had, and the tamales are honestly to die for. Empanadas with Cimmichurri, tacos, really everything is wonderful. Also, service is very friendly, clean restaurant, and humble family staff. Will be coming back every time I come to Calabash from now on.

Flavor is not authentic at all, and the service for take out was really bad. Prices are high a well.

The food was good. We unintentionally arrived 15 minutes prior to closing 8pm. Ordered chicken and pork tamales and one of each empanada (beef, chicken and spinach), beef was superior. Tamales were heavily seasoned with thick masa. Clean, pleasant dining room. Self serve soft drinks. Good prices.

Updated 5 years after eating here the first time. This is still a must if you're in the area, actually even if you have to go a couple miles out of your way. It is still just as delicious as I said five years ago, and the prices are still excellent for what you get. Original review: Mmm Que Rico is worth stopping by at least once during your stay. The food is good, prices even better, and the staff and owner are as friendly and helpful as can be, without being overbearing. It is not a posh setting, but perfect for a nice change of pace. Our food was delivered to our table quickly and was nice and piping hot. Their signature chicken is very flavorful, even without the extra side of your choice of sauce (mild/med/hot) . The fried plaintains are great, and they also have an interesting alternative to french fries - fried yucca.

Got the chicken burrito and empanada. Portion size was good for the price. Burrito looked amazing but the flavor wasn’t all the way there for me. Not too much complexity in the flavor or seasoning. Nothing too special but not too bad. Maybe will try some this else next time.

I thought I already posted about this place, but I would do it again gladly. Here we go. I love it. Great food, great people, they will go the extra mile and beyond for you. Just try them. You won't be disappointed. Update: As of 08-03-2022 the restaurant is still there and the food is still delicious. The owners are still kind people eager to excel in what they do! And they stand out with their special flavors and cooking style influenced by their latinamerican countries of origin. Don't leave without trying their chicken and the Maracuya juice (passion fruit). 😋😋😋

We tried Mmm Que Rico for a birthday lunch outing and found it to awesome! The food was wonderful, we had Tamales, Peruvian Chicken, Empanadas and Flan for desert. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and we got to meet and talk to the owner to share our complement’s on the food and his staff. A great birthday experience!

This place has authentic Peruvian food with flavor not no imitation. The food is amazing with burst of flavors at a reasonable price especially if you are vacationing with a big family. The staff is friendly and the place is welcoming. My family loved the food we came back a second time. If your looking for some good Latin food look no further, this is the place. You can’t go wrong with the rotisserie chicken😋

The 1/4 Dark Chicken with 2 sides. I got White beans and slaw, is the best ever. My husband got Empanadas, fried yucca both are awesome too. Great folks.

Super friendly staff, the owner was very honest about the items i asked about and everything was flawless.Tamales were enormous, a whole meal on its own. And the empanadas were the best I've had in 34 years on this earth.
