sat at the bar on move in afternoon at LSU, had a variety of tacos and appys and micheladas, food was impeccable, service atmosphere and comfort were all perfect.

We had the steak tampiqueña and it was fire, the service was perfect and we definitely gonna be back to try the margaritas.

my wife and I when here for the second time and she was not happy about her meal because she ordered a grilled shrimp poboy (torta) which had everything on it but the main thing which was shrimp I mean like 5 that's all for real 5 shrimp but I can say the service and drinks was top tier so that's why they get a 3 star from me until next time hopefully

We were quoted 15 but waited a lil more than 45 (and while in this heat that was frustrating) the manager and server took amazing care of us. The server (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name) was attentive and overall incredible. The manager, Carlos, was sweet and kind and held a 5 min conversation with my chef husband, just bonding over food and the restaurant industry. But let's get to it: THE FOOD. I got Rojo enchiladas and elote (12 stars!!!) and hubs got the flaunta and brisket Birria. We were blown away. I expected this place to be overhyped and I was gladly wrong. It deserves all the hype it gets. Check it out. Just be wary of wait times--RESERVE A TABLE IF YOU CAN! Only complaint is how small it is! But they are currently expanding so we will 1000% be back.

Top notch for "mas Mex" and "less Tex". I'm a big fan of pretty much all versions of their crudo and ceviche. Tortilla soup is flavorful with tons of substance - top notch! I haven't had a taco, torta, or enchilada that I haven't enjoyed. Their lunch specials are nice and fair priced. And I'm a complete sucker for spicy margaritas - their house margarita with diablo added delivers. Great service every time and a fun, casual atmosphere. I go there often...just can't get enough!

What a horrible experience we had today at this restaurant. The manager and Chef was extremely rude to our whole team. We made a reservation about a month ago for 230 this afternoon and confirmed it this morning. When we arrived, he told us that we were late for our reservation and had canceled the reservation, because it had been made for 2 o’clock. He didn’t offer a solution or an apology and started harassing me and my staff, then stated that he was not going to serve us. He proceeded to tell us that he was going to call the police if we did not leave. Thank goodness the kind people at La Carreta took us in and we had a wonderful afternoon. We will never return to this restaurant! He lost a tab that was over $800!!!

We called three times to make a reservation, all three times they ruined the reservation and told us that if it was confirmed, when we arrived they told us that the reservation had been canceled and that they would not attend to us. They treated us very badly and told us that they were going to call the police. Very bad service

Always a great experience when I come here! The brisket birria taco is my personal favorite. They have great queso and an awesome margarita menu. Staff is always helpful and kind. One of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge.

The tacos are fresh and flavorful and overall look beautiful.The patio is great when the weather is nice. Overall 10/10! If you go ask for Wilson!

My partner and I came here two days in a row because we loved the food so much. We’re not huge fans of salsa but the complimentary salsa here is so delicious and refreshing. Our server recommended the queso with chorizo and it was amazingggg. We got it both times that we came. The Skinny Berry Margarita is so delicious and will definitely make you feel good. That was another item we got both times coming here. We’re making it our mission to try every taco on the menu and so far every single one that we had had been great. Everything here is so refreshing and flavorful. We will definitely keep coming back here and making our way through the menu. This is our new favorite restaurant!!

Modesto’s has been consistently great since it opened. From Cinco de Mayo to a random Wednesday night they provide great food, drinks, and service. One of the best experiences I’ve had was with Collin. He was one of the best servers I’ve had. It’s a great experience. Everyone should try Modesto’s, you won’t regret it.
