Hands down the best restaurant! (All Montezumas)

Mole burritos & mole enchiladas very good. Chips were mediocre. Service very good and fun atmosphere. Please note the restaurant does not serve alcoholic drinks. However, the street tacos (on the specials menu) were absolutely delicious and earn the restaurant 4.5 stars (rounded up to 5)!

Decent place. Average good Mexican food. Passing through so unable to compare to other similar places. Rice was above average.

This place doesn't live up to the hype. Fajita texanas was very overcooked to the point of being borderline burnt. The restaurant itself is very dirty and disgusting. If the owners feel it's okay to present that to the customer I can only imagine, with horror, what the kitchen must look like.

Quick and friendly service. The food was excellent. I wish I lived closer because this would be my go to place for Mexican!

Food was great but since paying over $75.00 for four entrees and tipping the carry out lady, my food didn't not come complete, but my other three orders did come out fine. Please re write the menu if you didn't want to include the rice that came with the lunch special. Also, make carryout menus for the customer if you want customers to come back

The food was excellent, the service was good. Only complaint we have is it was really really hot in there. I almost got my food to go.

As someone who dines out often, I can tell you that the food here is of very poor quality, Everytime I've eaten here, I always regret it & since I don't live in the area, I have other options that are superior to this place. You'd be better off just buying a can of Mexican something from the grocery store.

It was our 1st visit to the Gettysburg location this evening. We were immediately seated and greeted with chips and salsa and server ready for drink order. Wow, what fast and friendly service ! We placed our order and the food came out really fast ! I was amazed how good my food was, I mean really, I am beside myself, my wife was very satisfied with her order as well. It is our new go to eating spot, we use to frequent another place in Hanover, but there is no comparison to how good Montezuma is. If you desire real Mexican food, this is it. And the staff is awesome too!

Returning customer , I want everyone to know from locals to visitors Montezuma is the spot ! It’s a small but quaint place, Usually will seat you right away ! Very friendly staff and food comes out hot and fast ! The food is great and made the way you like it. Give them a try , you’ll be hooked , We go here at least once a month !

Stopped in for lunch today and we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was! The carne asada burrito with red sauce was amazing, the kids all enjoyed their meals too!

Not as good as advertised.Chicken tacos alas was soupy and chicken was stringy and tough.Enchiladas were better. Be advised you cant enjoy a margherita here - no booze licence.

I love this restaurant. I've been here about 3 times total. I always get a burrito, and it is always delicious. Service is always friendly, and I don't have to wait too long for my food. It seems to be a popular spot, so you may have to wait a bit before being seated. But it is worth the wait, especially if you're in the mood for Mexican food.

This is our essential restaurant stop in Gettysburg. The food and service are always great. The building could use some updating, but the staff and meals make up for it.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch and we almost left because of how rough the place looked. This place doesn't have a bar either. I haven't ever been in a Mexican restaurant that didn't serve margaritas before or Corona. But when our food came out, I have to say it was the best Mexican food I've eaten in this area. We were pleasantly surprised. I would go back every week if they served Margaritas. The lunch menu was priced a little on the high side but you get what you pay for. The supper menu is too expensive for this place. So if we go back, we will go for lunch. They really need to give this place a face lift though.

Great food, delixious flavor, reasonable prices, and awesomely fast service! What's not to like? If you're thinking of ordering, stop thinking and order. Everything is delicious! My favorite is the California burrito (a super jumbo-huge burrito), with steak, chicken and shrimp. Fajita burrito and quesadilla texanas are family favorites too.

The food was cold but everything else was good

Always such a nice restaurant to dine at. Their food is so good, and prepared at a quick place. It’s wonderful for take out, you can call and it’ll be done in 10 minutes. They have an abundance of options even though I pick the same one when I go. Their combos are great. Portions are usually big! Great for the price.

The only Mexican restaurant in the united states that does not offers margaritas. Not authentic flavor either but cheap.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Gettysburg. We meet with friends in Gettysburg twice a year and make a special trip to Montezuma!

I love Montezuma. Food is always excellent service is always fast and friendly service. Would be nice if they kept the place a little bit cleaner especially the bathrooms.

In full transparency, we just moved to this area after 15 years in Texas. I wanted to love this restaurant, as we miss great Mexican food. The Pro: Very fast service, even though they were very busy with a line on a Sunday afternoon. The Con: The restaurant could use a good cleaning. The menus, booth and floors were very sticky. And the bathroom was very dirty. The Neutral: The food. It was OK. The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. The guacamole was very smooth and tasteless. The fish tacos were OK. The Fiesta Sampler included mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers? Why? We will give Montezuma another try. Hopefully there are other Mexican restaurant options in Gettysburg.

Food was very good with nice portions. Only thing is they use small tortillas and for the portions, it should have been large tortillas (fajitas). Great and prompt waitress. Chicken chimichanga was delicious and I could actually taste cheese sauce. Will return again.

This location is small but does have tables and booths. The food is tasty and the veggiez are fresh. Friendly and attentive staff. The shrimp fajitas are so delicious and the fajitas always is so much food.

I had dinner here last night. Service was great, everyone there welcomed me. I asked for recommendations and ended having the mole poblano enchiladas. They served me right away, super fast. The food was delicious and a very nice portion. Very friendly staff, nice place and location at Gettysburg. Highly recommend, I will surely be coming back to try more items from the menu.

Wow. Just wow. The tacos de carnitas are the best I have had north of the border. The salsa...absolutely 'authentic' (as much as I hate that word). I have not tasted a better salsa (not even my own...which is incredible, if I may say so 🤣). I would have never expected such perfection in Gettysburg of all places. Hats off to the staff! Kudos to the cooks. And thank you for the owners. The meat was perfectly cooked and flavorful. My only wish is that I could find barbacoa!

The food here was excellent and very affordable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great little hole in the wall type of spot for great food. Definitely worth the visit. The burritos are unbelievably large.

The food at Montezuma Restaurant is truly incredible! This Mexican food came out hot and fast on the night we were there and they were busy, still I don’t think we even waited 10 minutes for our food which was appreciated after hiking around on a cold fall day! The wait staff were friendly and on point with refills and getting our food to us. I would definitely recommend Montezuma for a delicious meal served quickly!

My family and I went there for dinner. The service started out amazing. We were seated at the table and ordered our drinks. The waitress came back with are drinks and then we ordered our food. We didn’t wait long for our food to come out to us. The food looked delicious and tasted good. The waitress came back to the table asked if everything was good and if we needed anything. Everything was good and she left the table. After that we did not see our waitress for refills or anything. When we were all done eating. We started looking around for our waitress so we could get a box and the check. After waiting for probably 15 minutes our waitress was back. We got our box and the check everything was good again. I got my card out to pay the bill and was waiting for the waitress to return to the table she never did. Then we saw a another table leaving and saw that they paid their bill upfront.

We came in shortly after the park closed on a weeknight and just missed the crowd. Post-rush, we were able to walk in and sit immediately. The space is small but surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The food was fantastic (arroz con pollo) and the service was both friendly and attentive.

BLAND fajitas. #1 Tomatoes don’t belong in fajitas because they just turn to mush. What are these PA Dutch fajitas? #2 Fajitas are the most expensive thing on the menu. Shredded cheese should be provided. #3 Every single time they come out, the onions and peppers have had no time to carmelize and cook down a little and create that juicy flavorful sauce that you want to slather your meat of choice in. They come out with no grilling marks, no blackening, the peppers and onions are just soft with no flavor developed. This goes for the steak, chicken and shrimp as well. There are no spicy salsa options and there’s no seasoning on any of the ingredients either. Very poorly done. Nearly zero flavor. Guacamole and the mild salsa from the chips and Salsa (which are free!) are the primary flavors. A very small dish of queso is $4.40.

I recommend the chilaquiles.. Update: went during lunchtime today and ordered chilaquiles, food was obviously microwaved, idk what happened between 10 months ago and now but man what a disappointment. Edit again... Must have been a bad day way back when, the fajitas were super fresh and delicious plus you get big portions for the money. Edit...as the years have gone by this place has leaned more southwest TexMex style food. At least with the tacos they only had hard and a soft flour tortilla option not corn tortilla. Still good tasting food though is what's important at least. Service could use improvement though many errors with orders mixed up.

If you want a unique flavor experience go to Montezuma Restaurant in Gettysburg. Dishes you have come to know are cooked with a South Western Mexican flare. Definitely worth a visit.

Decent Mexican for a good price.

Delicious! Arrived after a day of driving. Very friendly staff. We had fajitas that were yummy and generous. Also had quesadillas that were crispy and tasty. Highly recommend

Food was hands down some of the best Mexican food I have had. I failed to see it is BYOB and they do not serve alcohol (so no margaritas), but their food made up for that! Atmosphere was a little snug but once seated, it was all okay! Just the walk to and from your seat you would have to ask many people to excuse you to get through. Staff was very kind!

Make sure to take your appetite because you get plenty of food...I always get the California Steak Burrito and it's on point every time. I was stoked when we went this last time because it was such a beautiful night 🌙 and we chose to sit outside... All of our food was delicious and it always comes out sizzling hot by a friendly waiter/waitress. The best part about it is the price is right and you'll usually have enough left over for lunch the next day😉

Bland even for this woman (me). Baby carrots were in the vegetarian fajitas and not fully cooked. Not much for spices in that dish either. I could have made better at home if I made it. Looks like it needs a good scrubbing on the floors and wall plaster repair but the staff was very friendly.
