Cold food disgusting table top sticky. To busy trying to close to serve in the proper order. Staff swearing in kitchen can hear in dining room. This place should be closed by health department!

This is a great place for authentic food! I have been here one other time a few years ago and finally went back again today. The food, atmosphere, and facility is still top-notch! However, service was ridiculously slow with food coming out of the kitchen. Our meals came out AFTER other small sized tables (4 people) that got there after we did. There was a very large party there and we were a table of 4. The wait staff said because of how 'busy' they were (the dining room still had some empty tables) orders kept get moved around. The kitchen staff needs to find a better system for managing orders. I was grateful our food at least came out hot. I believe the wait staff did the best they could but the kitchen needs to be better organized and should be able to deal with a large-ish amount of orders during a lunch time rush, especially since it was during their Home Town days festival the restaurant should have been prepared for this.

Ordered the x-large sausage board! Excellent as a starter for 4 people. Service was excellent. Great suggestions for beer. Had a nice late lunch with friends! Thank you!

Been here several times. They have draft Stiegl, which is one the best Austrian beers out there. Food is always solid. Have never had a meal that I didn’t like there.

Place looked really pretty inside with a lot of options on the menu. Food came out kind of strangely but it was delicious.

The food and service was excellent. I love this place. The atmosphere is great, the variety of beers satisfies both of us. Update June 2024: Moser's is still great.

Very cool place. Lots of beer steins stacked up, Waitresses dress up in dirndl dresses and good variety on menu with different types of schnitzel.

We like how they decorate the restaurant, a very nice & warm vibes. However, my Wiener Schnitzel was too dry, on top of dry Spätzle and (not really) sour red cabbage, no sauce was served at all! My hubby ordered Austria Goulash and it wasn't really tender and dry too, but it's still better than mine. Someone upset the Chief cook today 🤔? Cause last time I went there, their food was good. We will give it a try next time for lunch, but if they are still like that, we might not be back again.

Having lived in Austria for a couple years, I was excited to try this place, but the food seemed very underseasoned.

We took my son out for his birthday, and he suggested this place. It was in an old building that was nicely restored. The atmosphere in this place is warm and inviting. Our server came right over and took our drink order. When he returned with the drinks, we ordered dinner. I ordered the Alt Wienerschnitzel, my son ordered the Jaegerschnitzel Schnitzel, and my wife ordered the Sausage Platter. Our food took a bit to come out, but when it did it was totally worth the wait. Each of us liked our meal and thought it was good. This was a nice place to go to celebrate a special occasion. The price was reasonable for what you receive, and I would definitely come back in the future.

Took several members of our Vantage Power team members from the UK for lunch on 11/16/23 and they thoroughly enjoyed it!

Wow! What a gem! It was hubby's Birthday and his request was German food. We drove an hour and was blown away by Moser's. Simply transported! The decor, the staff, the food! Well worth the drive!

The food here was okay. Not great. The flavor was a bit lacking. The Austrian Soda was a bit meh. Nothing they can do about that but yeah, it was a bit lackluster. Having the bread come with butter that was in little packets was disappointing. The soup tasted around the same quality as soup from a can. The crackers being New England oyster crackers was also disappointing and also came in a packet. The main course was meh. The red cabbage was cold. Not sure if that's how it was supposed to be but so was the other potato-ey thingies. I'm not sure what you can them now. They were cold and flavorless. The atmosphere was okay. It was cool seeing the waitresses and staff dressed up in traditional Austrian dresses. The staff was very friendly so they really are the saving grace for this review. My guess is that the food may be better for someone else. Just didn't do it for me.

Edit - They changed locations. This review was for the original location. The new one is horrible. Check reviews on Yelp and make sure it's not for the old location. Below is what they used to be. They are not even close anymore. I was really excited to find a restaurant cooking goulash and paprika chicken. Although I was hoping they used hot Hungarian paprika, they didn't. However, the meal was delicious. Gretchen was working and really made me feel welcome. I often eat alone as I travel on business and I felt like a regular immediately. 11/19/2013

If you would like to experience some Austrian and German cooking in the Midwest, then Moser's is the place to visit. Gutes Essen und Gemuetlichkeit. The decor is authentic with lederhosen, skis and pictures. Waitresses wear drindls. Since my review in 2013, Moser's is under new management, but the restaurant kept its authenticity and charm. Friendly knowledgeable staff, tasty Schnitzel and Spaetzl. Excellent soups and sides. Plus Stiegel beer on draft.

Overall, this was a great experience. The menu has a great variety of Austrian food and is reasonably priced. There is a good selection of beers on tap. The service was very good. It is certainly worth a trip to New Carlisle to eat there.

We haven’t been here for some time and our grandson wanted to come here for his birthday, as he recently experienced schnitzel. We arrived a little before 5 and found them not too busy. We ordered drinks while deciding what to order. Our first issue was they were out of Dr Pepper. While sorting drinks out, another group of 3 ladies came in sitting next to us. Having sorted out the drinks, we ordered dinner. The next issue occurred when the ladies group was served dinner ahead of us. Our dinner finally arrived with no butter for baked potatoes and had to wait on that, which was rock hard frozen, not very good for now warm potatoes. To finish off the night, I ordered some additional fish, as I ordered the all you can eat fish. After waiting for @15 minutes, I told the waitress to forget the fish and just bring us our check, as we were ready to head home. Not sure if we’ll come back.

Moser’s Austrian Cafe had a wonderful selection of schnitzel plates. We also ordered the small cheese plate which I highly recommend. It was huge! We loved the assortment of cheeses and other goodies like sweet peppers! We’ll be back!

The service and atmosphere here was amazing but all the food was extremely bland and did not taste good at all. I dont think we enjoyed any of the food we got. Server was great though and took my meal off the bill when she saw I hadn't touched it.

Wow! Best French Dip sandwich I’ve ever had! Try the Austrian soda. It has a very slight pickle or briny flavor to it. I enjoyed it! The kasespatzle was not what I was expecting but not bad by any means. I thought the cheese on top would be melty and not more like a crusty cheese. The environment was great and wait staff was attentive and friendly. Looking forward to coming back!

The food was good but they can't really accommodate large parties. We had a party of 12. The server tried but was overwhelmed. I think we may have thrown the kitchen off as well

This place has awesome food, the German beer is so yummy! After the excellent German meal you get served, they have a built in chocolate counter. Great place to chill and grab a bite to eat, in the warm months you can choose to eat outside...

We have not dined here since Mr. Moser sold it last year and we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is still great and the full menu has lots of choices. In fact you can either order a dinner or a lunch. The four of us split the German pancakes. Large and tasty with applesauce. We all had a German dish and they were huge - enough to bring home a separate meal. Our server, Mikeala, was friendly, efficient, and really took care of us. All three waitresses wore authentic German outfits. If you are close to Notre Dame head to Mosers for a wonderful dining experience.

We had the best time! From the exuberant owner sharing a few stories with us, to our courteous and attentive server Sam, to the delicious foods, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Several friends at our table remarked at how the foods reminded us of childhood experiences. The meat and cheese platter had a little of everything from the appetizers and I recommend it as a starter to share. The schnitzel was wonderful and you can hear them being prepared in the kitchen. (If you know, you know what I mean. 🤗). There was so much we didn't get to try so, we are looking forward to coming back for more!

Stopped in for lunch and ordered the Porky Pesto Sandwich. It was incredibly delicious! Had the Stuffed Pepper soup of the day which was also excellent!

We stop in here every Black Friday after getting our Christmas tree at Pinecrest in Galien. The food is fantastic and the service is always great.

This is one of the best restaurants in Michiana. It's absolutely wonderful! The food is very good quality and delicious. The staff are always friendly, very personable. My favorite is the brieschnitzel. Never had a bad meal or experience here. Just one word of advice: Call ahead on weekends to reserve a table or you may not get in. Also, take out is usually not an option Friday and Saturday nights. I guess it depends.

Restaurant was nice inside very clean waitress was extremely polite personable and the food I had was tasty, but OMG was my schnitzel small. I fully expected it to be a little small I ordered the lunch schnitzel sandwich but realistically I only needed half of the bun because the schnitzel couldn't have been more than 2-3oz. And it wasn't a fluke either all three of us at the table ordered schnitzel and every one of them was two to three ounces in size. Completely killed any chance of me returning.

Ordered pork schnitzel and fries. Let me say I love New Carlisle. So love the location and restaurant itself is nice, clean and cozy. Wait staff was great. But was really disappointed with portion size. Maybe 2.5 ounces of meat. Maybe. Lightly breaded. Wasnt awful but wasn't great taste wise. Just really really small portion. Prob won't visit again unfortunately.

I've been searching for authentic wiener schnitzel for years. I live near St Louis and had a list of restaurants that served wiener schnitzel. Made it to at least 4 of them, and they all were a disappointment. I was visiting my family in Indiana and my dad took me here as a surprise. It was the best schnitzel I've had, since I lived in Austria as a kid! 10/10, and I cannot wait to go here again when I visit them again. Keep up the great work!!

My daughter and I both had pork shnitzel, here with purple German cabbage. Delicious 😋😋 And , of course, German chocolate cake.

3 of us were there Saturday afternoon. Place was packed and the 2 servers were super busy. Both servers took orders, cleaned tables, delivered food & drinks, and took care of checks. Yes, it was a little slow but you had to appreciate their diligence. And the food and drinks were excellent. Well worth any wait.

I was so looking forward to an Authentic Austrian meal today! Even got there early… at 4:45pm. When the two of us arrived, there were only two others in the restaurant. We stood there for several minutes, as there was no one to greet us. Finally, we just sat down. And, waited. And, waited some more. We could hear voices coming from what I assume was the kitchen. Finally, after 15 minutes, a lady came out, and said, “Sorry guys. Didn’t hear you come in”. She plunked down a couple of menus, as we ordered a couple of beers. Ten minutes later, they were delivered. Others started coming in at that point, which seemed to fluster our one and only server/bartender. Thirty minutes later, when she finally returned (after several more “sorry guys” as she ran by our table), we were no longer interested in ordering. If we had, we might still be there waiting. Worst service ever, even though the restaurant has high ratings.

Great place to eat. Love their food. Also, so sweet and accommodating and understanding of children. We brought in my 10 month old and they were wonderful with her even after she left a crumb mess. Don't forget a shot of circus peanut!

I enjoy German food I had the alt weinerschnizel it was great cream sauce could have used a bit more seasoned but everything was great beer was awesome I took my apple strudel to go and I am eating it now. It's pretty darn tasty. Definitely going back

What a very attractive German restaurant, if only the food was better. The veal in the schnitzel was tough and served lukewarm, the noodles were cold and the red cabbage certainly did not look red. The apple strudel was good but the center was a little doughy. The young waitress was very nice but not very attentive. I have doubts that we will ever return.

Number 5 meal (dinner), sorry, I can't spell it correctly (Yager schnitzel I think). The bread is marbled Rye with a pimento/butter blend. Super yummy! The beer I got was the Hirter Privat Pils. Went very well with everything I ate. I've eaten here several times. Always a good time!

We have been driving to Moser's for about 5 years when visiting family in Northern Indiana, but during the last few trips the quality of the food has been sub par. Typically we order from the wide variety of schnitzel options, but the focus seems to have changed from serving excellent schnitzel that is enhanced with a few toppings, to overwhelming the schnitzel with toppings that are not of the quality we experienced during past years. The atmosphere of the restaurant and the beer list are still enjoyably authentic and cozy, the waitstaff is still friendly and helpful, but we would no longer recommend making an extended trip just to visit this restaurant.

We had the pork kaiserschnitzel and the mushroom schnitzel. Both were perfectly prepared. The kaiserschnitzel was tasty, hot, and thin with a crunchy breading; the white wine sauce was the ideal accompaniment. The mushroom schnitzel is a great alternative for vegetarians. Service was a little slow due to a large group upstairs, but the food was worth waiting for. New Carlisle is a picturesque small town.

I was all excited to visit and eat at this restaurant, but it changed to disappointment. When we walked in it was very cute inside but the service wasn't great at all waited all long time to get waited on and she never check on us after we were served the food. we ordered soup with are meal and we were disappointment with the giant dumpling that didn't seemed fully cooked in it. The meal we ordered was just average for the price paid. The tables were very sticky and I heard from a waitress it was the cleaning product that they were using. need to change cleaning products!.

What an excellent experience. I have never had authentic German food at a restaurant before, but I am very glad I tried it here. We had the Hot Wurst platter and loved it. The smoked brat was the best tasting on the platter. The only thing that was kind of distracting was that our table was really sticky. Not sure what the deal was there, but my wife and I will definitely be coming back here!
