Meh. It was okay, not exceptionally flavorful but lots of choices available. I will continue to look for strongly flavored mediterranean meals.

Terrible experience. The food was cold and flavorless, and the staff barely seemed to care. The restaurant was messy and poorly maintained. Definitely not worth the visit.

Dont like this place anymore. Have to basically beg for chickpeas which was once lentils. Change the sign! “Would you like any rice, eggplant or chickpeas? Well of course, thats about all that comes in the bowl ! Unless I want a bowl of cabbage and lettuce and parsley! Rather go to Mezah. They have more selection and they dont act like guard keepers over the few chickpeas I asked for. Definitely not what it used to be.

I had shawarma sandwiches, I had a stomach ache all afternoon at the beach, I recommend it, not bad quality.

Excellent Mediterranean food. Love the falafel, wraps, pita, and bowls. My daughter loves the schnitzel, fries, and garlic sauce.

Not sure why an Israeli restaurant isn’t serving Israeli food? Where are the matzo ball meals? Everything on the menu is Palestinian, Lebanese, Egyptian, etc. Nothing cultural, I wonder why

THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT KOSHER THEY TRICK YOU INTO THINKING IT IS AND DONT WARN YOU OTHERWISE EVEN THOUGH THEY SAW THAT WE WERE JEWISH AND RELIGOUS AND HAD YARMULKES ON THEY JUST CARE ABOUT MONEY me and my family went there thinking it is kosher because when we went last year it was kosher. so we went there and there was nothing saying it wasnt kosher and online it still said it was kosher all they put is a tiny sign that is barely noticable saying it wasnt kosher and we only realized that sign in the middle of our meal. the owner here is tricking people into eating not kosher food so he can sell more and get more money. SO TO ALL THE FRUM JEWS THAT ARE LOOKING AT THIS REVIEW THIS PLACE IS NOT KOSHER DO NOT GO. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE. JUST ABOUT MONEY AND THE OWNER SHOULD BE ASHAMED AT HIMSELF

The food is always awesome and the portions are always large.

Chicken swarma taste like lamb. Not well cooked. And its not halal place. It's israeli restaurant. So Muslims brothers and sisters don't trust google.

We’ve been coming here for years and always get great food and service. I’ve never had a bad meal here and if something is wrong they always make it right as quickly as possible.

They misspelled Palestine and Palestinian in their website, they spelled it "Israel" or something like that. None of these foods are Israeli, don't expect true culture here.

This was my 1st time eating at Mr.Shawarma and it was AMAZING! I had the Lamb & Beef wrap all the way. I was very impressed on the quality and quantity of this wrap! I can eat and I couldnt even finish entire wrap! The young ladies who assisted me were great as well! I told them it was my 1st time eating here and they were all so helpful, which definitely made this trip even better! I would like to point out that what I paid for entire meal would be about similar in price to "VALUE MEAL", but the amount of food and quality, definitely made it worth every single cent! I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK TO THIS LOCATION VERY SOON! THANK YOU and GREAT JOB WELL DONE! 5 Stars

There was a miscommunication and the staff thought my to go order was still cooking, but it was actually already complete. I ended up waiting for no reason. The food was ok, it didn’t taste that fresh.

I rarely post reviews for restaurants, but this restaurant and location deserves 5 stars. I have ordered the same order at least a dozen times over the last 60 days and it is high quality every single time, without fail it is always amazing! I also use door dash and it never impacts the quality of the food, it always makes me look forward to the next order.

disappointed in discovering that the restaurant labels itself as “israeli food” despite all of the items on the menu being syrian, turkish, palestinian, lebanese, egyptian, etc. if you disagree with g3nocide and illegal occupation, go to a real arab-owned restaurant where they will serve you truly authentic arabic food made with love.

Oh yeaaah!! Shawarma was top notch, friendly staff, very fresh vegetables to top and awesome sauces with genuine spices and flavor profiles! I would reccomend getting falafel as well.

Everything was good except the garlic sauce. They don't have that garlic sauce which comes with shawarma.

Fast delicious and cheap! Their hummus plate with pita, falafel pita and fries are out of this world. It is the best spot to have middle eastern street food in the 757 area. No doubts on this!

I’m obsessed! Food is consistently delicious & fresh, and employees are friendly & helpful. The restaurant is clean & bright. It’s important to note that we’ve never dined-in, so the food travels well as a carry-out option and also reheats well since I can never finish it all in one sitting. I love the falafel and we always get the chicken shawarma bowl loaded with everything. Eggplant is so yummy! Love all the sauces. Spicy sauce made hubbie cry and he always complains that nothing is ever spicy enough 🤣

An okay place for shawarma.. not earth shattering! … sorry…. The flavour of the chicken does not stand out… the overall taste is so flat! Had the bowl option instead of the wrap. The meat is so soggy drowned by the liquid from the various salad and sauce….

My first time here I got the Build Your Own Bowl with beef and lamb and Lentil Soup. Every dish tasted really good and was good portion l will definitely come back here and try their other dishes

My visit to Mr. Shorma left me with mixed feelings. Despite my initial apprehension, the staff was friendly, albeit a bit slow. However, the long lines and high prices didn’t quite match the portion sizes. The disappointment peaked with the entree; the tzatziki sauce tasted too much like mayo, and I couldn’t finish it. Overall, while the experience wasn’t terrible, it fell short of my expectations.

The food is a little pricey, but they give large portions. For example the Shawarma bowl could feed 2 people. The food is fresh, and very delicious! And if you sign up for the rewards program, you can earn credits to reduce your total. I love this place!

A very average shawarma if your used to the authentic ones available in the major cities. Also this is an Israeli style of shwarma that many will not be accustomed too. Overpriced but in an area where there is limited dining choices I can see how it gets good reviews.

Mr. Shawarma is the best place for lunch in all of Norfolk. I’ve had great shawarma all over the world, and Mr. Shawarma is simply the best. The owner and most of the staff are Israeli and the food is as authentic as it gets. My personal favorite is the chicken shawarma, but the lamb is also good and very popular. Pro tip: the wrap is a much bigger serving than the pita, though both are excellent choices. Come hungry and ready to eat a massive quantity of the best shawarma you’ve ever eaten.

This was my first visit and the food didn’t disappoint. We were greeted by a super friendly staff member who walked us through how to order. She was incredibly kind and patient with us. The portions were plentiful and the flavor was on point! I loooooved their falafel! We will definitely be back!

Came in yesterday and had a very nice young woman help me. It was my first time and she took her time in helping me to figure out what I wanted.

It was busy in there. Food was delicious Service was quick. The girl said as little as pops even though I told her I had never been there before and needed help. Maybe a bad day. But I'll def be back and recommending to others.

This place was highly recommended, and it did not dissapoint. I had a shawarma on a pita, and it was delicious. The best part is all of the great toppings and condiments, especially the Israeli pickles. My daughter had a felafel bowl. She let me have a bite and it was some of the best I've ever tasted. The staff is friendly and efficient.

They get the online order correct most of the time. Lunchtime is perfect, dinner is… not.

I came in almost 15 minutes before close and I placed an order falafel and a beef wrap and I was my top five dead or alive meals of time, and the staff was super friendly, the food was fresh, highly recommended ☺️

Extraordinary culinary experience for a fast food joint!

Visited for the first time today to pick up lunch for a coworker. I explained I had never been there before and asked if I could read the text message to make it easier so I could get the order right. The employee helping was so kind. Took the order, and then took the time to explain every thing they use and how it’s all house made except the pickles and ketchup. While I waited they handed me some falafel to try. AMAZING. Seriously like nothing I have ever tasted (as a Midwest farm town girl). Absolutely cannot wait to return for the food and wonderful, patient employees.

This is the best place to get real, authentic, kosher Israeli food/Middle East fare!!! We used to live in Israel, and I have missed the food so much! Eating here is like a slice of heaven to eat at and highly recommend this place. The owner is Israeli and a great, honorable guy! Everyone who works there are so curtious and polite. It is a joy to come there every single time! I would encourage everyone who visits the Tidewater area to make this a place to come and eat at. The BEST vegan options HANDS DOWN!!!! It's hard sometimes trying to find restaurants that not only have great food but great proces too. I've had some falafel but the falafel bowl BLEW MY TASTE BUDS AWAY‼️‼️ It was soooo flavourful ! From the well seasoned falafel to the chared eggplant. Everything was AMAZING! I haven’t tried any places that make good Palestinian/arab food but Mr shawarma makes great Palestinian style shawarma. I haven’t tried anything quite like it on the same quality! Closest to the real thing you’d get in the Middle East.

Food is good but terrible customer experience. I ordered to the wrong location so they said since they made it already they would have to charge me again- I asked for any sort of discount on the second order and I got a big no.. so I essentially paid twice for one order. You lost a customer for life now. Even a simple 20% off would’ve worked.

I recently went and ordered fries to go. I changed my mind at payment time and they took my already bagged up fries put them back and literally gave me a super small portion to eat there. I asked why would you do that because I ordered fries to go? They acted as if I didn't have the right to ask that question. Server was very dismissive to say the least and literally pushed/threw my food in my direction. I love the food but will probably never go back. The days of good service and the customer always being right is loooong gone.

It’s the third time that my husband and I ordered from there and every time is something missing. I don’t mind missing utensils or a pita on the side once. But every single time they miss something is annoying :/ this time they completely forgot to put any sauce on it (even the one I ordered extra) and I was left with a dry overpriced falafel bowl. Last time I ordered there. Sadly, because I do think the food is tasty. But not as far as good as Cava or Mezzeh.

The food is out of this world. Great place for street style Mediterranean. Choose a wrap or bowl and fill it with what you want. It's kind of a "Moe's" version of Mediterranean. The lamb and beef is flavorful and tender the falafel has so much more flavor than most. The basmati rice is made with saffron, it has a great flavor. The garlic sauce will knock your socks off and keep the vampires away. If you're thinking about it, do it! You won't regret it. Enjoy. You're welcome.

Pricey for “street food”, but the food is delicious. The spicy red sauce is on point. Beef and lamb wrap is always packed with fresh meat…highly recommended!

The bowl was really good, but with just the bowl and a drink it was like $23. Very tasty but not somewhere we wil lgo often because of the price.

Large potions, great food. I’ve tried all their proteins and they’re great, falafel included. The wrap or bowl are both great options if you’re looking for a large meal. I’m not a falafel or shawarma expert, but they’re some of the best I’ve had. I only wish we lived closer… or for them to open a location in Virginia Beach 🫣

Food is always excellent. I mistakenly ordered my take out from the Ghent location instead of Hilltop today. Eventhough it was my mistake, the folks at the Hilltop store immediately made a replacement meal and saved me a lot of time and stress in a jammed up day. Highly recommend both locations!
