Great place with good, strong drinks. I really like the addition of karaoke!

Good for a solid meal. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant.

We had an Awesome time. Because of the rain 🌧 they were able to move us inside, even though they were fully booked on a Friday night. They have an extra space, for just such emergencies. The food was scrumptious. There were at least 5 items on the menu that I wanted. It was a difficult choice, but they have a true Reuben sandwich with their own homemade sauerkraut and Russian dressing. I also ordered another favorite item to go on a separate bill so it didn't have to be divided up later, we were all covering my sister's and her husband's bills for their birthdays, 8-9 and 9-9. Some of the other choices were Irish Stew, Shepherds Pie, and the St. Paddy's Hamburger with Tillamook Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, Avocado &1000 Island dressing. They delivered a fantastic strawberry trifle for the birthday 🎂 girl. I love this restaurant.

What an amazing pub. The food is stellar the waitress Jade was so kind and amazing. The music was fun and enjoyable and the beer was fantastic. If ur near by you must come and enjoy.

Wonderful place for good food and music. First time here and we were delighted with our experience. Beautiful courtyard seating surrounded by two separate bars. Really nice setting. Enjoyed the Irish whiskey wings appetizer and the steak frites, the 1/2&1/2, and the rueben sandwhich. I would recommend all as they were all delicious. Apple pie dessert was killer as well. Enjoyed the really awesome band and had couple of old fashions which were made well. Definitely recommend this place. Good to make reservations.

My wife and I had dinner on Father's Day (June 16 at 6:30pm) and we had the most wonderful experience here. We were in the main dining room and the young female server was ever cheerful and attentive despite the full house, and the food, drinks (Guinness stout!) and ambience were excellent. We had various dishes and the lamb chops and Irish stew were outstanding. Will go back again with the rest of family, and with friends for sure.

This an honest review based upon my previous experience once before and more recently. The beer selection on tap is as expected with Harp, Smithwicks and Guinness. The soda bread is great, but that was about it. The service was good too, but the food was meh at best, at those prices. Ordered a Ruben sandwich which supposed to come with sauerkraut, but was missing. The portion of corned beef was skimpy, since it didn't cover the entire piece of rye toast. The server was informed and promptly took it back to kitchen. She returned in a few minutes with a whole new plate of fries and new Reuben sandwich, which was with Kraut, however their version of Sauerkraut was more akin to coleslaw served with pulled pork. Additional thousand island dressing with real Sauerkraut would have made a good sandwich. Disappointed but hungry, I did eat it because the meat was good. The server was attentive and is the reason for the two stars. Food was lacking and would recommend that before advertising any food items that Chef is knowledgeable with it and has experienced a good example of one. The atmosphere is hit and miss. We sat in the courtyard next to the windows of the bar seating, where on the inside was a groups OC midde aged drunk businessmen loud and obnoxiously telling stories of recent exploits. Flatbiller unrefined boys with lots of money that are lonely drinking buddies. Sad experience.

Great venue, good food, and excellent staff and service. The only down is that their patio is very cramped and leaves little room for movement or dancing. The band called Family Style rocked the house great music and a fun group. Keep bringing them back, good crowd.

Love this place! The atmosphere has a selection of indoor or outdoor- both with different vibes. Food is incredible!! Servers are a little slow and not very chatty, but it is still a bomb place to go! Menu has a great selection, everything is really tasty!

Irish pub in an unlikely place across from Fashion Island. The place is welcoming and the staff is professional and knowledgeable as well as very friendly. Open late in an area that is not.

Great place to enjoy comfort food. The Irish bread was delicious. The banger bites appetizer were a hit. All our meals were enjoyed but the highlight was our waiter. He was fantastic. We look forward to returning.

I'm absolutely in love with this place! The layout is so unique - when you walk through the "front door," you're still outside; stairs take you down to an outdoor patio with a beautiful large tree in the center. There is a bar out there, though it's been closed whenever I've been, probably because I've never gone during the summer. Once you've reached the patio, to the right is the real front door Lol. Step inside & you'll see a casual typical pub to the right, down a couple more stairs, windows will be open to the patio with favorable weather. To the left of the main entrance is a cozy, mahogany, more formal dining area complete with a fireplace. This layout alone is enough to enjoy a drink or dessert, but the food I've had was delicious, too. I love the "Black Bush Stew," which is a delicious beef stew (generous chuncks) with a dollop of mashed potatoes, 2 lamb chops & a shot of Black Bush whiskey! It's no longer on the menu, but I last went in February & our server was amazing - friendly, funny, & accommodating - & had it made for me anyway! I haven't been on a night with live music, but that would be icing on the cake. Love this place!

Good Irish bar. Beers are expensive ($12) but had a good time on St. Patty's day. Good mixed crowd.

I just love love love this place! Food is exceptional! Smithwicks and fish n chips! Although the fish is not authentic or cod! It’s pretty decent! I would also recommend their salmon and ahi! Christmas time is so pretty and traditional too! It’s a must!

Met friends at Muldoon's last Sunday and to our surprise they had a band starting at 1pm perfect. Order bottomless mimosas Irish coffee and yummy food. Fish and chips were delicious, Muldoon's Ruben sandwich really good and my friend gave thumbs up for the bangers and mash. We sat on the patio with front row seats to listen to the great Irish band. Craic in the stone. They even had a Irish dance club to enjoy along with the music, very fun day. Thanks Muldoon's we'll definitely come back.

We were able to visit Muldoon’s on a Friday during happy hour. It was a festive atmosphere. Service was surprising quick and very attentive during our time there. We enjoyed a few drinks and a large soft pretzel for starters. The pretzel was one of the best I’ve had at a restaurant and the seasoning on it was delicious. It came with both beer cheese and a sweet mustard. We enjoyed both. Then we tried their wings and crab cakes. Both were very good. I highly recommend giving Muldoons a try if you are in the area!

An amazing place my wife and I visited. The food was beyond perfect. Servers were amazing, I don't think I have ever drooled so much just reading a menu. Defiantly worth a visit. Espically if you are interested in celtic culture. Also, the old fashion Irish whiskey. Good lord, the smoothest whiskey I have ever had in definitly less then 20 years cause I'm not yet 40.

Only been to the Pub a couple of times but loved it. My grandson Jack, age 5, loves it too. And the staff treats Jack like a King. Kudos to Muldoon's on a great Pub and for caring so much about my little buddy.

Half and half Guinness/Harp $11 Shepherds Pie $22. Good but mild flavor. I would have liked a little more in the beef sauce. I have been in Ireland and the current chefs add a bit more flavor. Pretzel $11. OK but I am from Philadelphia and so my standards are very high on these. The honey mustard was nice. Service was good.

Not the pub you would expect to be across the street from Fashion Island. It’s got the vibes, the beers, and great food. And the perfect outdoor patio. My recommendation is the Bangers and Mash preceded by a car bomb, obviously. The sandwiches were good, nice portions, and reasonable pricing. During the summer there is an excellent patio/atrium that reminds you you’re still in Newport. For me, it’s better than anything across the street.

been going to this place for 20+years. usually spot on. last night the irish beef stew which is my go to was horrible. runny with zero potatoes in it, my wifes burger that she ordered well done was medium at best, fries were barely cooked, ordered a second beer that never came. not sure im going back anytime soon(:

One of my favorite places to eat. The prices are fair for Newport Beach. The food is worth it though. Menu options are limited but nothing on the menu is anything less than very good. The service is good, and the atmosphere is usually pretty lively. But it is a pub, so that is to be expected. The only downside I feel is the wait. Call ahead and get reservations or expect a wait, and usually a considerable one.

Our server was very nice, the food came out quickly and it was tasty. At first glance the decor is warm and inviting but after taking a closer look the edges of our table and the windowsill adjacent were filthy (like hadn't been cleaned in months) and that's just one location. I would hate to see behind the scenes. Hope they close down and do a complete clean-up soon.

This used to be a great gathering place for the local Irish community and Irish music fans to listen to Irish music bands. The pub changed hands a couple or more time since the pandemic and it just isn't what it was. Sad that it is no longer the pub we remembered. Moved on as have many others.

This is a great pub/sports bar. It is big so there is plenty of seating. Mel was a very attentive bartender and she makes a great skinny margarita. Lots of TVs with NFL package. The fried pickles were crisped perfectly and had their own unique spices. The chicken wings also cooked to perfection and juicy. The Mediterranean salad was crisp with a good amount of each ingredient. Beer was cold. We'll be back.

Came here on a Friday evening for happy hour. First impression was how beautiful this space is. My party sat in the dining room but I'd definitely sit in the patio area next time. We ordered the chicken fingers appetiser which seems basic af but they were fantastic. The soda bread was probably the best I've ever head. My friend had the farleigh salad with chicken which she liked but thought there was too much sugar in it. I had a pub sized shepherd's pie and Irish stew. Both were very good but I'm a purist with my shepherd's pie and prefer lamb. Nonetheless I thought they were both very good. Our server, Scott, was super friendly and knew about everything on the menu. Definitely worth a trip back.

Such an amazing pub in the heart of Newport Beach. So relaxing to watch all the NFL games and grab good food and drinks. Wings and fish & chips are delicious. Mary and Myles are super friendly and show what hospitality is all about.

Always a great time. Prices have gone a bit nuts. A pint of beer for $10 Or steak nachos for $20. Also they don’t have Irish nachos no more.

Came in on a Tuesday to relax and enjoy a point or four. Had the absolute pleasure to have been served by Jason at the bar. What a professional, personality, knowledge and one heck of a mixologist. Had the Charcuterie board and it was spot on, along with some Old Fashions, again, spot on. You owe it to yourself to come in and enjoy an old school pint or to eat dinner, it's a great place! Jason my friend you are truly an asset to the organization and they should pay you appropriately!

When you are a guest in the country of the man who serves you a pint of 805 (very mediocre) beer and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, you want to be respectful and polite and when he says “$28” in response to the question “how much?” you double take, hesitate and then assume that you must be in a very expensive part of California and that that’s just what it costs. Well, maybe you wouldn’t but, stupidly, I did and, as if to emphasise my naïveté, I felt a bit guilty that there was only two dollars left over from the only cash I had, for a tip. As I walked to the dirty outdoor table where my wife was waiting I was glad that we weren’t sitting inside. It was smelly and decidedly dingy with lone drinkers at the bar and just one couple at a table in the less unpleasant courtyard area. I was also trying to figure out the extortionate bill - $15 for the wine and $13 for the beer maybe? Surely not. The bar is situated on the periphery of an already peripheral commercial centre near Newport Beach, California with minimal footfall except, presumably, when the occupants of the plethora of office buildings around it empty out twice a day and so it seemed unlikely that this was some exclusive dining quarter. And then I figured it out: he charged me for the bottle! It must be. $20 or so for a bottle of wine and $8 for a beer. Makes sense and so, after giving my wife her wine I went back to the bar to clarify: “Sorry, did you just charge me for the full bottle of wine mate?” “Eh, no, just the glass.” “Oh...” now that we were discussing it it seemed reasonable to dig a little deeper: “...so how does the $28 dollar bill break down?” I asked. “Eh, what was the order?” He seemed to have forgotten our exchange from only a minute or so before. When I told him the order he said that $28 was correct and when I asked him to break it down he said: “Yea, eh, $14 for the wine and, eh, about 10 bucks for the beer.” “That’s not $28” I replied. “I’ll break it down for you.” He said as he went to the til where he stayed, punching buttons for an extraordinary amount of time. He finally returned and pushed a receipt under my nose with a bottom line figure of $25.97 on it. “That’s not $28.” I repeated. “Can you refund me $2 please?” “Ok.” He returned to the til. “And can I have the receipt please too.” I added. He returned from the til and handed me $2. “And the receipt?” I asked. Back to the til again and now it was as though he was recoding NASA’s entire space programme. At this point the lone drinkers were looking at me as though I was an alien (in the other sense of the word) and after what seemed like the entire length of my two week holiday, the barman finally reverted with a receipt. Dying to get out of the stink, away from the stare of the lone drinkers and as far as I could from the barman, I didn’t even look at the receipt and I smiled, respectfully and politely. “Thanks so much.” I said as I left the bar. We finished our drinks quickly and, as we walked away from the venue I finally looked at the receipt. This time it read $24.79 and apparently I had had a Guinness and not an 805. I decided not to return to challenge the bill. Nor for any other reason. Ever.

Stopped by for an Irish coffee. It was my first time trying one and such a great experience with the atmosphere. It was a very chill Wednesday morning. There was about 5 other people in the restaurant, most of them were older gentlemen. I didn't try any food, but would definitely recommend for ambiance.

My son's took me there for mother's Day it was awesome. Really nice atmosphere outside or inside. I had the fish and chips, delicious, my husband had the burger also delicious.

Delicious food as always. I had their fish and chips which were outstanding and my girlfriend has the Sheppard pie which she couldn't get enough of. Our server was Scott and he is always upbeat and makes your experience eating at Muldoon's a fun one. The one thing I would say is the seating could be updated. Besides that a great time at Muldoon's as always .

Went for Mother’s Day. Little disappointed in the portions. Very small and we all walked away hungry. Portions of the each order (bread/English muffins) were late and we had already finished eating and not to mention they were not toasted and cold when they arrived.

Excellent ambiance 👍 Service was not focused! 😬 Food was not as it was described 😬 Reasons: I asked for mushrooms with my burger, they brought it without it... then when I asked the server, she said she brings on the side.. then half way of my burger، she said "we are out of mushrooms"!! Question : should she check all that before bringing the food ? Should the chef make that note before making my food? To me the service was not right and I was not happy with the way my order was handled 🤷

I have been going to this restaurant for years and I love it. I even considered inquiring to rent it out and have my wedding at this place - that’s how much we love it. Drink and be merry. This is an amazing place.

First time at Muldoon's as a tourist. Their service is on point, their pub nachos where amazing and happy hour was such a good time. I definitely recommend Muldoon's to anyone in the area.

Went there with a group of 25+ people to hear a jazz group play and the seating had to be brought out by the staff. They were quick and effectively set up. Food was well presented and our server completely forgot about our table of three. There were people standing at the bar and they could have been overwhelmed. Our group entertained and were entertained in the bar area. There entire site is downstairs and I don't know if there is a way to the restaurant for mobility challenged individuals. Good selection of food and drinks with a fun atmosphere.

Grear whisky selection...Fish and Chips were tender and delicious. I found the hummus to be a bit sweet and non traditional....but what are you gonna do, it's an Irish pub. Stick to traditional dishes and you can't go wrong. Shepard pie...Amazing!

Great place for Irish food and ambiance. We went at Christmas (had the mulled wine - YUM!) and of course for St. Patricks week. I took my 90 year old dad and he loved the corned beef sandwich. I had the traditional corned beef with cabbage and potatoes. It was perfect and I actually snuck back to the kitchen to see how that cook was making the delicious cabbage on the stove top. I think he just sautéed the cabbage with some seasoning - but it was incredible. I brought half of the dish home it was so huge. LOVE THIS PLACE !

Phenomenal service and great atmosphere. Every dish I have tried has been excellent. Bailey, Amber, Chelsea, Courtney and Vanessa provide top notch service and are very attentive.

Made reservations for Superbowl Sunday. Had several items. Our favorite was the Irish Stew. For an Irish pub, they were out of many of the beers listed on the menu, which seemed odd for a pub, especially on a special event weekend.

I came during happy hour M-F 3-6. Got the spicy wings and well whiskey. $16 for both. Not bad, but the wings were average and the soda mixer was flat. Wings were spicy enough, but not quite hot enough on the inside. Which was ironic because two of them were quite burnt on the outside and they did appear steamy. I actually enjoyed the veggies that came on the side - they were fresh as can be! If you get the wings, make sure you get some extra napkins. Bartenders Miles and Jason took care of me. They were friendly enough and courteous. They also have TVs and play various sports channels on them. There is also a small outdoor patio for sunny days. Bar is located downstairs next to the theatre by Fashion Island, and there appear to be a crowd of regular customers. It’s a little dark inside but given it’s downstairs that’s to be expected. I’d come back.
