Jose our server made the meal a joy! Ask for her and tip her well! She was fun attentive and understands how to customize dessert! Chicken Parmesan was amazing and specials were spot on! 10 stars for Jose!

We stopped after a long day in Morgantown at the doctor. Our server, Loren E, was a doll and so kind. She took great care of us. The food was excellent as always!

A work friend of mine treated me to this restaurant today and it was absolutely phenomenal. I had what our server, Shawn, recommended- stuffed manicotti. AMAZING. Before the manicotti came out, we were served fresh, warm bread and the fluffiest butter with a salad that was out of this world. The salad was just ridiculously good. I was floored. For dessert, Shawn recommended the house made tiramisu. Now, I didn’t have high expectations because tiramisu is tiramisu, right?Well, this was not your run-of-the-mill tiramisu, folks! It was remarkable!!! Absolutely delicious! I’m so glad I got to experience Muriale’s! 10 out of 10 recommend. And shout out to Shawn for being a great, attentive server!

Authentic Italian cuisine in small-town West Virginia.

We happened upon this place as we were passing through town. The food was awesome, and Shawn our server, was super attentive! The lunch portion spaghetti and meatball with a salad was just right, and for dessert, lemon Berry mascarpone cake, was delicious! Definitely recommend this place 😀

Open faced steak sandwich. Do a combo and add a couple meatballs. Salad with house dressing also really good.

Old school Italian--and that's meant as a large compliment. Flavorful and well-seasoned sauces--my wife had spaghetti with vegetarian tomato sauce; I had veal parmigiana with meat/tomato sauce. Pasta is served al dente. Service is prompt, attentive, and friendly.

We stopped in on the road from visiting family driving from shepherdstown wv to Fayetteville wv. It was a great stop with delicious food and our server, Lauren was awesome with our 1&4 year olds.

Stopped here for a lunch on our way back to Canada from holidays. We had a new puppy with us but the staff noted the great Riverview picnic area to have a to go picnic lunch. Lasagna was perfect again and the Veal Parmesan was fantastic as well. I ordered peanut butter pie which got too soft waiting for our pick up which was disappointing but is a must have dessert. Second time here and we will make it a regular destination when we travel through!

With new ownership, this awesome restaurant has lost a little. Sauce seems blander, portions are smaller, and the incredible attention to detail that Rocco Muriale put into every meal is slipping. Still good, but not as good as five years ago.

This is such a nice restaurant you can tell that it is family owed and they have taken such great pride and joy of owning it and be part of the community. We were impressed with the food and service. We will definitely mark that one as a favorite to goto when we're in that area again.

We brought our dog to the beautiful outdoor patio and enjoyed a delicious, old school Italian dinner with a lovely view of the river. Our dog got more pets from other patrons and servers than she's ever gotten at a restaurant. We all had a great time!!!

Just left Muriale’s and disappointed that I live 1000+ miles away in Georgia. It is the best authentic Italian restaurant that I have eaten (not dined) in bar none. Including the North End of Boston and Arthur Ave. in the Bronx! Who knew? Fairmont, WV?? Started with the house Chianti wine @ $12 for 9oz and calamari lightly fried with lemon, cocktail sauce and remoulade PLUS real Italian bread. My wife is a fuss budget schooled by my Mom and a cooking school in Italy. So accordingly her compliments in an Italian restaurant are few and far between except for Muriale’s………. “Can’t we route our next trip to New England through Fairmont?” Continuing, the house salad had everything including salami, peppers, and the normal fare. Our entrees were ravioli and Bolognese pasta ( Marie’s specialty unmatched anywhere but here a close second). Finally topped off with home made tiramisu. Another first for us was left over takeouts probably tomorrow’s dinner in TN. All of the preceding was orchestrated by Jamie and her staff who made us feel at home. If you’re ever near Fairmont, WV add Muriale’s Italian Kitchen as a must stop!

Hands down, time after time, this is the best Italian in West Virginia! I make it a priority to stop in when I travel through. If only it weren’t 300 miles from home!!

Muriale's is a must stop for us anytime we are in the Fairmont area, which is typically around a WVU home game. It's classic, old school perfect every time. I've traveled all around the USA and had Italian food in over 35 states. Muriale's stacks up with the very best of them.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is amazing and has been amazing for decades. Classic Italian. Never had a bad bite, no matter the selection. Bread, salads, appetizers are all superb. Staff are polite and plentiful. If you're in Fairmont or even just traveling through North Central West Virginia, it's worth your time. Delicious!

My family and I went to Muriale's for the first time yesterday and were blown away by the service we received. Our waitress Hope went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of. Not only did she create a positive experience for my husband and I, but she was so attentive to our children. The food was excellent and the environment was great! I would definitely recommend Muriale's to anyone visiting Fairmont. Be sure to ask for Hope if you want to feel like part of the family while you dine!

Everything I had from bread to wine to entree to dessert was excellent. And our server, Connor, absolutely crushed our very large party. Totally recommend.

Having grown up in Fairmont, I have been eating at Muriales every since I can remember. There have been many changes over the years, but it always feels like a special occasion whenever I dine here. My friend and I ate on the deck overlooking the river. Good food, great service, nice summer drink menu, and a lovely atmosphere. 🍝🍹🌺

My son and I came in for lunch today and we had the most amazing server. His name is Shawn my son is still little he made sure all the plates that were to hot were out of reach of him, overall he made our dinning experience so amazing! I hope He knows how truly appreciative I am of him! Going out to eat with a little one by yourself can be challenging, but he was absolutely amazing! Thank you so much Shawn!! The food came out incredibly fast and was delicious as always!

Muriales used to be wonderful, but has gone dramatically downhill. Our last carry out order took over 2 hours for them to prepare, 40 minutes past the pickup time we sat waiting. Manager refused to do anything to attempt to make it right. We noticed the bags looked way too small and double checked and parts of the order was missing. Had to double back and then be told “oh sorry, we can make that now.” Muriales has lost a customer at this point, their customer service is a joke. To make matters worse, the food is subpar compared to what it used to be. If you decide to order carry out from them, I recommend giving them 24 hours notice. They struggle with basic orders.

Always an outstanding meal. The atmosphere is great with antiques and art from an earlier, simpler time. The restaurant is celebrating 55 years in business this year, and I urge you to go if you are anywhere near Fairmont. When you think of small town West Virginia, great Italian food is not something that "pops" immediately in your mind. The service is always excellent, and again, the food is stellar always.

Eggplant parm was very good. My wife had gonococi with maranara sauce. The sauce was kind of chunky, liked heavy crushed tomatoes. Could have been smoothed out a bit. My salad was awesome.

Our friends recommended Muriale's and I'm so glad she did. The food was delicious!! There's a back deck that overlooks the river and is so peaceful. Our waitress was wonderful. Overall a perfect experience.

There are chain restaurants for a reason. If you wanted "Italian" food from that chain of Olive growers save some time and money and just go to Walmart and get a family pan of frozen lasagna, some frozen garlic bread, and a can of minestrone soup and call it good. But if you want QUALITY home cooked Italian fare made from recipes that date back to the 1960's and earlier you'll want to come here. Good Lord! is this place incredible. The best lasagna I have had in ages. My wife had the Muriale's Gnocchi. We picked from each other's plate it was just that good. And serving sizes that truly please. You won't leave here hungry. But then how do you save room for the dessert? We selected tiramisu and Italian Almond Cream Cake. I don't know which one was better. So whether you're a local and have been here numerous times before or just visiting our wonderfully beautiful state and looking for a GREAT meal make Muriale's Italian Kitchen a priority. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back and try their Lobster Stuffed Ravioli Broiled Shrimp.

Ate here for lunch with friends as this is their favorite local restaurant. I had a meatball sub and fries and my brother had ravioli and a salad. Our friends had salad and pizza. The food was very good . Restaurant was clean and has beautiful decor. They offer outdoor dining when it is summer which is also nice. Our server was nice but you had to keep reminding him what else we needed. { maybe he was new}. The deserts looked great but were super expensive. Parking lot is spacious and restaurant can accomodate a large amount of people . Will go here again when we visit our friends.

The second time we ate at Muriale’s and we will be back again. Old-world style food and atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. This place gets busy so plan for a wait.

My wife and I moved to the Fairmont area last year and we kept hearing great things about Muriale's, so we decided to give it try to celebrate my wife's birthday. It did not disappoint! We started with some delicious drinks - she had the sangria and I had the Manhattan. Both very good. We ordered fried calamari (a favorite of ours) for an appetizer, and it was delicious, especially with the two sauces that came with it. The house salad was also a treat - very flavorful with a lot of extra ingredients like pickled onions and olives. The house made Roquefort dressing was exceptionally good, too. For dinner my wife got the shrimp alfredo and I go the Taste of Italy (a sampling of four different dishes). The meals were delicious classic Italian dishes, just like Mom would make (if your Mom was Italian). And huge portions (with plenty leftover for dinner the next day). Finally, despite being stuffed, we had to check out the dessert tray - and we couldn't pass up the Reese's pie - amazing. The entire meal, plus a bottle of red wine, was very reasonable in terms of price, too. We left full but very, very happy. My only complaint was that after telling the restaurant when I made the reservation - and also telling the waitress - that it was my wife's birthday, they didn't put a candle in our dessert. We will definitely be returning!!!

Been coming here for years and always have a superb experience. The food is delicious and the staff attentive. I come here for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions and always have a great meal.

Best lasagna I have had in years and one of my guests had chicken parmesan and the other friend had the manicotti - high praise from both of my friends! Excellent salads as well. We had heard from others of this Restaurant and we are extremely happy to have stopped for dinner. Wonderful and attentive wait staff as well!

We had our cousins dinner this evening at Muriel’s. We had a large group and reserved ahead. They had everything ready when we arrived and food came out quickly and was excellent. Our main server, Hope, was just amazing! She was so kind and accommodating. Never missed a beat! We’ve been here many times and will continue to do so! Thank you!

I don't live in the area anymore but I get the opportunity a couple times a year to eat here. I absolutely love the asparagus salad. It's the best salad I have ever eaten. I normally get a main dish and an asparagus salad to go.

This was a very warm, friendly restaurant. As soon as you walked in you felt like you were at a grandparent's house. It was quite cozy. The employees were nice and friendly.

Muriales is great. Only thing they need is more gluten free options. Only had bread and pasta. The pasta gf or not is the best menu item hands down.

This place is great . FOOD .SERVICE . AND ATMOSPHERE.ARE JUST AWESOME

The ravioli and the Sicilian pasta (mushrooms, oil, garlic) were excellent. The pasta was not overloaded with garlic. The side salads included were very good also. The lemon berry cake was great with a nice lemon taste. We had a side of fried peppers as an appetizer and they were tasty and very good. The dining room was informal and it was very busy. We were told the wait would be about an hour, but it was "only" 45 minutes. They text you. The servers were very helpful and nice (and busy). The cost was quite reasonable.

The best italian food in West Virginia

I am very happy to say that I went back!! I had ordered the same as last time and let me say I was very pleased. The food was very hot and instead of waiting an hour it was around a 15 minute before the food came to us. The waitress was super kind I did not get her name but she had an accent not sure where from, but she was super kind and had got everything we needed. I would also like to say that the Italian sausage looked cooked and was not very tough unlike last time, the lasagna was very hot and tasted amazing, the rigatoni was also not tough and very good, and finally the ravioli on the taste of Italy was perfect! I can happily say they redeemed themselves.

As always everything was good. I have never had a dish I didn't like. Their salad is incredible.

The quality of the food and service has diminished since the new owners have taken over. The sangria, which used to be one of my favorites, is no longer made in the same fashion and the lack of flavor is disappointing. Further, when the prior owner was onsite, no dirty placemats were left on your tables, and the servers would immediately clean up your finished plates and flatware. Just an overall decline in service and attention to detail.

It was the day before Easter and we were visiting my uncle in Clarksburg, so he recommended we all go to Muriale’s. I’ve been to quite a few Italian restaurants but this one is definitely in my top 2 (only second to Edo Squid in Richmond). I had the rigatoni with Alfredo. Most restaurants make their Alfredo sauce too salty but this sauce tasted very similar to the kind I make. You could really taste the Parmesan. Their blue cheese dressing was yum! But the star of the dinner was the never ending basket of their homemade bread. We went around 5pm and the place was packed, so definitely make a reservation or arrive early.

First time here and we will definitely be back!! Everything was amazing and the staff was great!! The manager came over to ask us how everything was and sent us home with an extra loaf of that yummy bread and two free desserts!! Looking forward to trying them when we get home. We will definitely be going back.

I always forget how incredible Muriale's is. I ordered a negroni. It paired perfectly with my pasta. I love the house Italian dressing so much. And my Fettuccine Alfredo was flawless. I could have eaten more. I would've had to sleep there afterwards though. I don't think they'd approve of that. I need to make sure I go here in person at least once a year from now on.

Called in for pickup on a return trip from Morgantown. Placed on hold for 10 min. Hung up, called again, and they took the order immediately. Had to wait a while, but the food was EXCELLENT as always.

The spaghetti is good. The problem is we always get an XL spaghetti. The portions have dwindled down to the point it’s ridiculous. I actually got an order today and at best it’s between a medium and large. I also ordered a small and it looks pitiful. Ever since the sale of Murials it has been like this. Now if I dine in the portions are fine. I feel like we are punished for getting take out. We have eaten Murials for years and it’s very disappointing. We used to get it once a week. We are down now to occasionally. It’s was 43.00 dollars and we certainly did not get our money’s worth.

Great option for parties of all sizes! Came on a very busy Saturday night and got seated in less than 10 minutes for a party of 2. Seated in the back near the river view. Parties of 10-15 around us which was expected. Not too loud considering the amount of people in the room. Service was fast and we were treated well. Food was different than I expected but still good. Calamari could be better. Alfredo is super creamy. Drinks were good. Not the best Italian I’ve had but coming from someone who has dined in Italy, I can say it was much better than typical american Italian restaurants. Has a great family owned vibe with class. Governors endorsement letter I found and read on the wall was a nice touch. I think this restaurant has stood the test of time and many generations have enjoyed it here. Definitely give it a try. It’s hard to find good family owned places out here and this is one of them. When it’s busy I would recommend coming closer to 7-8 PM. I felt like coming at that time played a part in us getting seated so fast. Enjoy!

Half of my family is from Italy, and let me tell you, this place might have the best Italian food in West Virginia. I took my partner here for our anniversary and we loved it.

Off the Chain!.. was in Fairmont for something else And saw their parking lot was full. So I said must be good let's go here. Atmosphere was Perfect the music spot on.. The comedian Jim Breuer said once If Dean Martin isn't Playing Walk out.. Well Jim would love this place! Food was Top notch.. Waitress Was So Wonderful. I am an Alfredo Snob, and this chicken Alfredo was the tastiest I've ever had. True story, wasn't runny with the right amount of salt. Desert triple chocolate cake was like a torte. And I know salads aren't a big deal but this side salad was the best also and so was the Blue Cheese dressing. It reminded me of when I was a bus boy at Louis Tambellini when I was a teenager. Great place I'll drive an hour and a half again to go there.. True Story!

It's been several years since I had eaten there, but it is still as good as I remember. The service was very quick and polite. You have to eat here if you're in the area. It is a staple of Fairmont.

A nice surprise place to find in Fairmont. We were in Fairmont for the night after doing some business in Bridgeport, WV, and my daughter at WVU suggested we try Muriale’s. She came in from Morgantown (just down the road) and met us there. This is an “old school” restaurant, with lots of family and pictures of Italy on the walls. The menu is diverse with Italian foods, and they make their own sauces. My with and I had the manicotti and my daughter had the linguine with red clam sauce. All the meals were excellent, and plentiful. The service was excellent (thank you Morgan). Save room for desserts. At the end of the meal they bring around the dessert tray with many choices on it. The lemon-berry cake was excellent, and my wife said that the chocolate-peanut butter pie was just as good. Definitely recommend this place and will go there again.

Food was average Italian food, nothing spectacular. The service was good. The atmosphere was alright.

Had the steak hoagie. Very bland tasting. Use to be great. Not anymore. Otherwise service an place was top notch.

Made a quick visit to the NASA facility. Hungry I asked several people where to get some great Italian cuisine. I was as sent your place. Upon arrival I was distraught to learn you were closed. I called your number. A sweet young lady answered the phone. I begged for soup telling them I am a huge soup fan. Asking was there anyway I could get some. They sent me around to the rear. In my seventy-four years I must say your soups were among the best I have ever had. While living in Cleveland OH I can hardly wait to return. Truly extraordinary.

Stopped to eat here on trip from South Carolina to Niagara Falls. Last place we expected to find a great Italian restaurant !

Service was poor , the next day, my wife was experiencing an upset stomach all day until she threw up . I do not believe we will be returning to this establishment. However, if you choose to dine there, my wife and I hope your experience will be better than ours.

This is a fantastic Italian restaurant with superb food. To me, the spaghetti sauce has a flowery note that I don't particularly care for. It's not bad, I just wish it wasn't there because I think it would improve the sauce. Appetizer of sausages was wonderful! Hands down, Muriale's has the best salad around. Good portions, a few unique items that blend great and not too much spring mix. I'm a fan, and I'm convinced you should give this place a shot if you haven't yet tried it. Prices are reasonable and portions are big. Service could not have been better and atmosphere was inviting.

I only get to eat here when I’m traveling in the area and it never disappoints. The food and service are always wonderful.
