No complaints whenever I come here. NONE. That is very rare. This place is like a gem!

while visiting Joplin for work, I dined in 3 evenings in august. the steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare both times, and were so tender and delicious it was a struggle to order anything else. However, the coffee rub sounded interesting, and enticed me to sample the lamb, which was exqusite. the baby yukon potatoes were cooked perfectly and were utterly delicious with the demiglaze that came on the lamb. even asparagus (which came with the lamb) was tender and tasty, not woody like asparagus can often be. Both the hostess and Damon were exceptionally kind to me, which meant more than i can say, as i have been navigating challenging new food allergies. my bill for one entree (which came with salad, veggies and potatoes) and one drink came in between $50-60 (before tip) each night. im definitely hoping work brings me back to Joplin sooner rather than later so i can enjoy Mythos again. 15/10 I highly recommend!!

Fabulous!! Delicious, fresh and unique dishes. After 10.5 hrs on the road this was the healthy meal we were hoping for. Juicy chicken in both our dishes, crispy fresh salad with amazing dressings, and classic spanakopita. So happy we found Mythos! Super friendly & helpful staff on the phone and in person.

We had a wonderful Birthday Dinner at Mythos, the Steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. Loved the shrimp appetizer and the rolls that came with dinner were soft and decadent. We topped it off with some delightful cocktails and a big piece of chocolate cake for desert. Crystal did a wonderful job of not making us feel rushed but keeping everything flowing perfectly, our glasses were never empty and I was never left wondering were my server ran off to. Nice Job Mythos, we will be back!

This is my favorite place in Joplin Missouri to have dinner out! It’s great for special occasions or just a weeknight meal! The food is consistently amazing and the service is always top notch! Most restaurants I frequent I have one favorite dish I crave on occasion… at Mythos, I have multiple favorites! Ancient Grains is bursting with powerful flavor combinations and loaded with perfectly prepared veggies… the crab cakes are above average… don’t go without trying the Kasseri Cheese appetizer! 🔥OPA!

We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Very friendly staff. The establishment was clean, the environment was cozy and comfortable. Nicholas was our waiter. He made sure all our needs were met. I ordered the artichoke pesos chicken over rice, and my husband had the ribeye, baked potato with vegetables. We ate a delicious salad and rolls. We then had the BEST strawberry shortcake that we've ever eaten. Our grandson was with us and enjoyed his meal every bit as we did. Edit: Went back today, and it was fantastic. Great Service. We had my graduation dinner at Mythos. The food was perfect. Service was a bit slow, but we did have a party of 13. I couldn't have asked for a better night!

Was served a dish of mascarpone with a single lady finger. Waitress was quite indignant when I expressed displeasure with the "tiramisu" she served me. An in-depth explanation is not required, nor would the server have been able to explain it, much less, as she could not pronounce the dessert as it as anyway. Simply rename the dish. Moreover, go to a better restaurant.

For some reason, they keep the lights super dim inside. We honestly had trouble seeing. The prices are high for the amount of food you get, but the food is delicious. We ordered the gyros but didn't think it came with enough bread.

It's DEFINITELY not authentic Greek food. They basically topped dishes with feta cheese and called it Greek. There were no classic Greek dishes on their menu like grilled fish, moussaka, souvlaki or pastitsio. For appetizers, we ordered the spicy feta and grilled oysters. The spicy feta was good but they fried the pita bread instead of just grilling it which made it too greasy. The oysters were okay but they were sopping with oil or butter and they came with "garlic" bread which made the whole dish too oily. For main courses, I ordered the gyro platter which came with a salad. I had the "Greek" salad. Greek salads should be dressed with lemon juice and oregano instead it had a weird dressing which I can't identify. Nothing on the gyro platter tasted Greek. The Tzatziki sauce should be garlicky, tangy and bright with lemon juice instead it was slightly sweet with neither garlic nor cucumber flavor. Tzatziki should contain mainly cucumber, Greek yogurt, garlic, lemon juice and dill. I didn't taste any of that. My husband ordered their ribeye special with blackberry sauce. The only tasty thing on his plate was the grilled shrimp! The blackberry sauce didn't marry well with anything instead it clashed with everything. 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 3 glasses of wine came out to over $160+ with tip. We can get great authentic Greek food in NYC for less than that! One positive thing was that the service was really good. We didn't try any of their "Italian" dishes because it's named Mythos after all.

This is a great place with outstanding service. Our server, Del, absolutely made our dining experience better. He was very attentive and helped us decide on a meal when we couldn't do it ourselves. Everything looked and sounded too good for us to pick. We will definitely be back and recommend to anyone.

We just found our Favorite restaurant in Joplin!! Try the sea bass and double pork chop….they’re amazing. Enjoy!

I went here for my very first time on Mother's Day, 2024! It was a success. The spicy feta dip was absolutely phenomenal. My pasta was really good as well, and my son ate all of his food. As somebody who is German, Irish, and Italian, I make homemade Caesar salad dressing, I feel like they should hire me to make it VS theirs, though. ;) I will return!

Waitress was friendly and provided excellent service! Had the shrimp and clam linguine, which was very filling and delicious! Upscale atmosphere that is also casual and inviting. Would recommend to friends and family.

Our waitress was GREAT! When you spend $215 on a meal you expect someone to know how to cook a steak! We had 2 ribeyes both ordered medium well. First round we got 1 rare and 1 medium rare. Sent them back and they put the rare one back on the grill instead of remaking it but remade the 2nd one both given to us medium rare and extremely tough. We gave up on trying to get them right. When you have the Temps listed on the menu there is no excuse for getting them wrong TWICE! Ruined my birthday dinner.

The owner came in to my place of work as a customer. I mentioned a concern about the price, and was advised to check the lunch menu. It was a great value. My wife and I had one of the most expensive choices on the lunch menu, the filet and prawn. The house salad with mythos dressing was absolutely delicious, and the lobster sauce on top of the filet and prawn definitely elevated the flavor.

We came here as a party of 15 for our grandmother's 90th birthday! (We were also here last year for our grandfather's 90th birthday as another large party) and our servers were AWESOME! I can't believe I forgot their names because they truly were ON. IT! We never were waiting for a refill, she was very communicative with me to get appetizers in, and when it came to taking the order, both the women were so effient. The food was unreal. Every single thing was delicious! My 8 year old daughter gets so excited to come here whenever we visit Joplin just as much as the adults do. Thank you to the front of house and heart of house for always providing great service and food!

An extremely pleasant dining experience that I would not expect to find in the joplin area. Damon my server was so accommodating despite me arriving 30 minutes before close on a not so busy weekday. He recommended the tour of mythos for a dish which was both delicious and affordable. I will be back!

This is the best food in Joplin and some of the best food I have had. The menu is large and everything I have had is amazing. From the Spicy Feta to the Honey Chicken, it is all amazing.

I've been here twice now, and it's simple, the food is not good. If you told me the steak was boiled I'd believe you. The seafood is dry and nothing is authentic Greek. Plenty of nicer restaurants for a 'date night' on Main Street.

We enjoyed every bit of the experience here, and will certainly return!! The streak, chicken, and gyro meat were all outstanding. The presentation and service were top notch!

It was an okay experience. The decor/aesthetic was awesome, but instead of Greek music they played some strange European night club sounding mix. The food wasn’t anything we couldn’t make at home, the risotto was overly floral tasting, the chicken was extremely dry, and we requested a medium steak but got very rare. Service was A++ but just bummed we spent so much money and left hungry/disappointed.

The food was good. Prices were reasonable. The classic Greek side salad was so much more than a traditional restaurant's side salad. It was bursting with flavor! The service was excellent. At first I was a little disappointed because I really was expecting falafel and Shwarma, but the quality and flavor of my entree made up the difference. The tomato soup is amazing and the chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake was Devine

A group (26) of us took a day trip to Joplin. We gave Mythos advance warning. A private room awaited us. Service was spot on. We all received our plates at the same time! The Tour of Mythos was delicious. Others had Chicken Parmesan, salads or sandwiches. Everyone raved over their food. Can't wait to go back with the hubs

Came for date night dinner with my wife on a Thursday. Glad we called in for a reservation! First time dining, so we went for a full course, starting with (her) raspberry and (my) peach teas along with spicy feta dip and ahi poke. For an entrée, she had the lamb chops medium rare, I ordered the pasticcio. For desert, creme brûlée and a chocolate lava cake (yum)! Excellent service (by Nicholas) and elegant food presentation.

Mythos has always been amazing. Been awhile since we have been. Still amazing! Will be back often!

We had reservations for 7:45. We sat over 10 minutes before any server greeted us. When the server did finally show up, he seemed bothered and rude. Asked for a drink menu that another server ended up getting for us. Another server also provided our waters. We waited for a total of 20 to 25 minutes. The server never came back in that time. We left the restaurant and went somewhere else.

Lunch menu is very good prices for the portions. Presentation of food is great. Bang Bang shrimp appetizer is superb. I had the Medallions Penne. Steak in it was perfect and tender. I did not personally care for how tangy the topping for the pasta was. Tomato soup is great. Wife had chicken basil panini and said it was really good. Daughter in law had Tour of Mythos and liked most of the different things. My son had the Chicken Parmesean Fettuccine. He thought the chicken was a little on the overdone and tough side. Waitress Haven was absolutely fantastic. Would definitely go back.

Wow! Our first time here, and it was amazing! The service was phenomenal, and the food was incredible!! One of the best meals we've had at a nicer restaurant hands down.

Top of my Joplin favorite restaurants and locally owned (hi George!). Fantastic Greek food, extensive wine list, exquisite service. The seafood is also amazing, the specials are great and believe it or not the cashew chicken is George’s own creation and you just try it if you’re a Chinese food fan. Don’t be in a rush when you come here..enjoy the great food, conversation and service!

Great food, service and atmosphere. However I ordered a shot of blue ouzo. It was mixed with flat sprite. I could taste it since the blue orzo was t as strong. Had some bubbles. Just let us know that it’s about out. It’s not a big deal but I paid for a 50/50 shot of liquor. So I’m sad. I didn’t t say anything not a big deal and this is still the same rating I would give regardless. I promise not everyone is a Karen. lol it was okay.. but I didn’t want a mixed shot.

This place was amazing! Service was impeccable, the food was outstanding! If I was going, or when I go again, the main reason would probably be for the dinner rolls! Absolutely wonderful lunch we had for my lady's birthday. From the appetizer, through the salads, and steaks, everything was perfect. We were too stuffed for dessert, but the server sent her home with strawberry cheesecake for later. Nicole was an absolute dream and took very good care of us.

Get the Tour of Mythos - enough for a meal itself.

Came for a quick lunch during a business trip to Webb City. I chose the cashew chicken with tomato soup starter. The soup was nice and rich and creamy the cashew chicken was an interesting fusion dish, with a battered chicken in a gravy with rice, with a slight sweet and sour flavour. Would be a good place for a large group to come for a meal.

This place is the place to go if you are in for a treat! It is a great Greek place with different and unique dishes! We got the Feta Dip, and that was addicting! They put on a great presentation for you and treat you very well, they can also make things gluten free! The Kasseri is one to watch and see as it is definitely fun, but I would make sure to get another appetizer with it! This is definitely the place to go for date night or to take a client for work.

Mythos is one of the best fine dining restaurants in Joplin. Lamb and chicken is halal. For the beef steak if you want it halal you need to call them beforehand so that you get it halal.

The food was delicious , large servings. The wait staff were prompt and very nice. We left feeling very happy with our choice of restaurants.

There is a myth about Mythos. The food is actually awful here, despite the pretense of fine dining. The kitchen is lazy, with no regard for texture of depth of flavor. Their preference is to use institutional product, anything frozen, canned, powdered. Be careful of the “Chilean Sea Bass”, it’s likely to be a cheap substitute. Save your money and try any of the other authentic Mediterranean operations in the area.

My husband and I began dining at Mythos over a year ago. We thought it was very expensive, but finally decided to give it a try. We were completely surprised by the reasonable prices for lunch and dinner. We are retired, on a fixed income, and their prices are affordable. The portions are generous, and delicious! We have tried almost every item on the lunch menu, and several on the dinner one. We’ve never had anything but delectable food! The service is top-notch, and Damon, Haven, and Renata have become friends. Mythos recently launched a “reward” system. If you sign up (free), you earn points for the amount spent. Those can be accumulated and used for free meals, or cost reductions. There really is such a thing as a “free lunch” at Mythos. All credit cards (except maybe Diners Club) are welcomed. My husband’s favorite lunch item is the gyro, which comes with a side of soup or salad. The Caesar salad is my husband’s favorite, and I like the House Greek salad. Their homemade soups (creamy tomato and vegetable beef) are both wonderful! Did I mention desserts? Take your pick—baklava, cheese cake with berry topping, crème brûlée, strawberry shortcake (with in house made shortcake), and a decadent chocolate cake. The outside of their building is Greek inspiration design, but you will find a wide variety of delicious food choices inside! We highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Food was just average although our server was very nice and attentive. We should have gone elsewhere when we were turned away at the door having been told by a young man at the host station that they were ‘not taking anyone without a reservation’ despite the obviously half full restaurant tables within sight. But we had read reviews and wanted to try out this place. So, we went back to our car and made a reservation on their website, returned to the host station where a young woman was now posted, told her that we were early for our reservation and were promptly seated. We shook our heads at the stupidity of the situation and proceeded to order an appetizer of a spicy dip - ugh, while the dip had a lovely heat, it was mediocre at best but served with a sad, grease soaked DEEP FRIED PITA BREAD!! Hubs had a nothing special but large portion of moussaka while I had a perfectly cooked, juicy chicken dish served nicely on a bed of quinoa and veggies. Overall, not worthy of the #2 rating but a decent place - but make a reservation or you will be turned away no matter how many tables are open.

First time visit while traveling through Missouri; worth the short drive from highway 44 for an authentic hot meal. The appetizers, salad, and entrees were all absolutely delicious. Cooked to order and served timely. Excellent service, comfortable, and friendly.

First, this is a great restaurant, but yesterday, at five, my wife and I wanted something simple like soup and salad. There were two other couples there. I guess because we didn’t have reservation they sat us at a table for two, but the table was against a short wall that curved, very uncomfortable. The tomato soup was great as usual. However, the Caesar salad was dry, hardly no dressing. We stirred it thinking the dressing was at the bottom. LOL, there was a little bit. I wished I had stopped at the store and bought some to bring with me. The waitress who was nice and checked on us but she saw that we hardly touched our expensive lettuce didn’t ask us why we were sending most of it back to the trash. Anyway, I tipped her a little over 15 instead of what I usually tip. We will go back because it is one of the best in Joplin , but won’t order Caesar Salad.

My husband and I really like going on "food excursions" and "Mythos" did not disappoint. We both had the Tour of Mythos and the food was amazing! Each bite was more delicious than the last and it was great discovering the variety of food on our plates. The staff was professional yet personable and we had an incredible time. We live in Oklahoma and will be happy to make the hour drive to eat here again. You should go and have your own "food excursion!"

Made reservations a day ahead. Rude little boy meets you at the door and proceeds to insist that you set at a Super small table hardly big. Enough for one let alone two! In a room with a two huge crowded tables and 4/5 others already shoved in too small a space. When I declined he insisted it was all that was available even tho I could see another ,room with only two other parties and 7/8 empty tables! Then a new waitress who admitted she was brand new and supposed to be in training but was struggling thru by herself, an absolute horrible experience! Food was very off from what menu advertised Some kind of wired cheesy stuff on the Potabella instead of cramp and lobster topped filet.

This restaurant exceeded my expectations! We had a party of 25 and booked a reservation on Saturday for that night and they accommodated us exceptionally well. The wait staff was attentive and on point, even with our somewhat rowdy bunch. When I first booked the restaurant I was a little worried because my boss and his friends are used to 5 Star accommodations wherever they go. This restaurant and it's staff DID NOT let us down. They brought their A game! The food was PHENOMENAL and the atmosphere, table settings and presentation were FABULOUS!! We had just about every appetizer they had to offer (which were all terrific, you can't go wrong with any of them) and every main dish got nothing but praise. Thank you to the Mythos staff for accommodating such a large group, y'all did a fantastic job!!

My wife and I were visiting Joplin and went for dinner on a Saturday night. There are many good options and the food was very good. If we go back to Joplin, this will definitely be on our list of restaurants to try again!

We stopped in Joplin for one night and I read reviews for places to eat. I chose this because I love Greek food and also the great reviews. We started with the sampler plate app (can’t remember the name?) this was just OK. We shared the pesto chicken and it was literally the best chicken I have ever eaten. We had great cocktails as well...excellent service. What I loved about the service is everyone helped each other...I felt like we had a “team” of servers. Well done! Especially during the pandemic. Super safe experience.

My husband & I enjoyed a terrific dinner meal two days ago. Our waiter was superb & the filets melted in your mouth. By far the best steak we have eaten. Everything about our dining experience was 100%. We will be back soon !

Delicious food, great service and their social distancing policies were spot on. Make a reservation if you don't want to wait however their bar area is comfortable.
