1st time trying this restaurant and it will be on my revisit list when in Salem. Waiter listen to our dietary needs and our dishes were perfect and the kitchen was happy to prepare as we needed.

Had beef and mushrooms with hot & sour soup and pork rice noodles with wonton soup. Everything was served quickly, well presented and hot. Server was very efficient and made a minor change to one dish, and got the order correct.

My husband and I went there today for the first time . We both said that was the best Chinese food we had. Everything was so fresh. We definitely will go back again

Stopped in for dinner with family. After 10 minutes of sitting unacknowledged at the table, almost walked out without ordering. Eventually got to order food. Should have walked out… My entree was forgotten, which is probably for the best given that other food that came out was greasy and bitter. The service was atrocious. We were treated like an inconvenience. Super upsetting and uncalled for. Never coming back and will never recommend to anyone.

We originally went in for dine in. Wasn’t a soul in the joint. Ordered our flat and watered down comes for the waiter to take off. After sitting there for about 10 minutes or so we decided on take out (we had been traveling all day). As we get up to leave the waiter is sitting by soda machines on his phone. They put piping hot food in the styrofoam and it was literally melted but didn’t notice until after I ate some. The rice was burnt & definitely didn’t taste much like pork fried rice. & when did sweet and sour chicken turn into chicken fingers??? And the general tso smelled more like hot sauce then what it’s supposed too. The only lady that was helpful was who helped us with directions. Wouldn’t recommend them or ever step a foot back in there.

Food is good, I like the Happy Family meal.

My husband and I stopped in for the first time today around 4:30pm. I’ll say I wasn’t expecting to see such a nice table layout. They have a nice dinning area, not too dark and the other side of the restaurant was divided for the tavern section to keep it private. Our waiter was very friendly taking our order and came around several times to check in on us. My husband had a coke and I always get a pot of tea. When the food came I was a tad disappointed that it’s the already prepared frozen type china blossom food. Peas in the rice. You know that they did doctor it up with roast pork, scrambled egg, and sprouts. Overall for the food was prepared very good for what it is. The chicken fingers crispy but soft inside, not oily. When I go to a Chinese restaurant I normally judge them by their crab Rangoons. It would be nice for a homemade type wrap over the already made Rangoons. The price was pretty decent for the combination plates we got. Maybe it was the time of day everything was pretty fresh. I will be back to try some other old favorites like Happy Family and lomein.

Best Chinese food in Salem NH!!!

I go to New Chief Wok a lot because the food is great, the service is always good, and the people are very friendly. Tonight I tried a new dish from the sushi side of the restaurant called Wasabi Shrimp. It consisted of 10 good size shrimp in a not too spicy delicious wasabi mustard sauce combined with fresh mango and pineapple. The fresh fruit complimented the shrimp nicely nicely giving you that cool,fresh yet slightly spicy flavor all at once. I will definitely order that dish again!!

The oil in my motorcycle is cleaner than there fryolator….brings a new meaning to chicken fingers ( brown fingers) and the bartender….. her personality would not work at a funeral home, absolutely the worst, just a total miserable person, should just stay home…. As for the patrons…. Set the wayback machine to Als trailer park …. Absolutely stay away from this dump how they are still open is beyond me( must be a long term lease…. Lol) head to the bar and visit the wonderful cheerful lady bartender! ( stay home jam toothpicks under your fingernails its the same feeling you get when the wonderful bartender greets you…). Its like we we’re driving through Salem an it said next right Hell… but I think the greeting I would get for hell was better than the head trailer trash who runs the bar…..wow words can’t describe this dump!

This restaurant was a lovely surprise. We had passed it for years and never ventured in, but on new years day we took a chance and have been back three times already! The vegetarian options are amazing, in particular something called Triple Green, a combination of pea pods, string beans, and broccoli in a brown sauce. We took friends there Saturday night and they loved the best and the moo shu. It's open for lunch and dinner every day but Monday and serves Chinese and Japanese dishes. Can't wait to return,

Service and atmosphere was awesome but I’ve never had eggfu young with the gravy on the side, the spare ribs were tuff to eat. My husband ordered a head hunter and he said it didn’t taste like a headhunter. And my Mia Tia was light. My husband will be back but I’m not so sure I will be. Haven’t tried the egg tools yet but I’ve got a feeling they aren’t going to be as good as the Aloha

This is easily the worst Chinese food in town. The food tastes terrible and looks like it’s at least a day or two old. Avoid at all costs.

Pleasantly surprised by the amount of seating, no waiting, friendly wait staff, clean restaurant, many menu offerings, meal portion was perfect, rice dishes could have been a touch more colorful and flavorful. Cashew chicken and, Lo Mein seasoned well. Offers combination plates all day for a good price. Nice atmosphere with frequent flyer customers.

Jennifer our server top notch. Drinks and food very good. Consistent each time. Go local you won't be disappointed. Place hustles. Service never an issue. I believe owner seats you and he is hustling. Mom and Pop place that take pride in their restaurant and greet you warmly entering or exiting. Some don't get that type of service visiting family.

Terrible experience. Went on 1/13/2023 with 7 other people. Myself and one other had sushi the other 6 had Chinese plates. Six of the Chinese plates and 1 sushi arrived at the same time. My wife's Chinese plate was delivered incorrectly and I received my sushi dinner when all the other guests had finished thier dinners. Just boxed mine up while the others boxed up thier leftovers. Hard pass.

Very busy, but it is new years Eve. Got take out for home, little cool, but again it's new years Eve. Otherwise food was very tasty, like always.

I’m confused as to why there’s a gluten free option for everything, when I asked for gluten free general tso chicken I was told there is a separate GF sauce, but the chicken is breaded with regular flour.. that contains gluten…. If i hasn’t questioned it I would’ve gotten chicken essentially covered/cooked in gluten and a gluten free sauce… it just doesn’t make sense

Definitely the yummiest Chinese food in town although not the cheapest. We only eat here a few times a year but it's well worth it when we do. Never been disappointed.

I have lived here for over 10 years and only recently discovered this little place. Easily the best Chinese food in the area.

Never had a bad meal here. I got the make your own appetizer combo. The beef teriyaki, boneless spare ribs, crab ragoons & white rice. Delicious!

We were NOT disappointed. The restaurant was clean. We were immediately met by staff who escorted us to our table. The waiter was patient as we reviewed the menu. Our food was served hot and tasteful. Prices were reasonable. This will not be our last time dining here

My new favorite spot for Sushi!!! I love the family who owns and works in the restaurant and those they have hired to serve :) I now live 1 hour and 25 minutes away but I drove today and will likely drive there at least once a month just because of the above. And they have updated their menu too!!

Great food, drinks, and service! I recently brought my family here for dinner and will definitely be back. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The pork fried rice is some of the best I’ve ever had! I didn’t try the sushi this visit, but will report back once I have. The cocktails are good and very affordable. The service was also good. Not overly friendly, but attentive and efficient.

I went there New Years Eve for take out. They were very pleasant and fast. Best that I have had in years.

Great place my new go to place for Chinese food

So I have been searching for excellent Chinese food near Windham. I read the reviews and had a feeling this would be ok. I ordered take out b/c Covid. We got the Hot and Sour soup, Crab Rangoons, Chicken Fingers, Beef Lo Mein and Mongolian Beef. The soup was good, the crab rangoons were chewy and not crispy although the filling was good. The chicken fingers were ok. The beef lo mein was our favorite. The Mongolian beef had no flavor. All in all, wasn’t impressed.

Hands down the best Asian / sushi around. I've never had a bad meal meal here. The menu is big enough that theres something for everyone. Two items that I've never had better aywhere are the Crispy orange beef and the Yaki Udon. The restaurant is very clean and the waitstaff are always friendly.

We had a very enjoyable date night dinner at the New Chief Wok Restaurant. We arrived around 6:45pm, greeted and seated right away. It took a little time to have our drinks ordered taken but we were not in a rush. Our server was pleasant, funny and most of all very efficient. The food is very fresh, hot and delicious. We had vegetables carved in shapes of chinese temples. Very creative. We will be back.

yummy food and drinks ... but I have a 3 month old, no changing table in the bathroom. If anything I would do take-out and eat at home. We have been here when the new management first started out and it’s not the best. I request a changing table and a better setting & a lounge would be great. But- for now on I will be only doing take out! After giving birth I would much rather eat at home than having to do the 1900s of changing a baby on a hard dirty bathroom floor thank you! The waiters should smile more too.

Just discovered this place couple of months ago and was finally pleasantly surprised by a Chinese restaurant. The owners are super friendly and the food is tasty. Noting that I am quite picky. Highly recommend.

I've been looking for a new "go-to" in town for months and this place won me over. The staff is great, super friendly and sociable, always makes sure your cup is full and everything tastes better than expected. Sushi is amazing and reasonably priced, they have some of the best dumplings and crab rangoons I've had in a long time. Would highly recommend them to anyone!

Great orange flavored shrimp with scallops and sushi & amazing drinks

My first chance to dine here since new owner/management change 3 yrs ago. Sushi is now on the menu with a small sushi bar as you enter. Both Chinese & Japanese menu. Can order sushi off the menu as well in their spacious, but unchanged, dining room with booths & tables. Went after the Japanese side of the menu. Ordered Goyza appetizer and Rock & Roll Maki. Goyza light and tasty, not as heave as Chinese dumplings, though the latter usually stand on their own merits. My dinner arrive, beautifully presentation, and very good. A 6 piece shrimp tempura Maki actually was 8..2 tails with another bite of shrimp! Yum. Full bar and separate bar area situated beyond the dining area with those sports minded diners. Bruins game on tonight. Although in a strip mall, with the addition of Japanese fare & sushi, this is a place worth checking out. Not much for ambiance, but it's really about the food. I intend on many more visits.
