My wife stopped by to pick up a soup for her and a soup and sandwich for me plus a couple of pieces of cake grand total of 32.00 both cakes were old according to the dates on them and my sandwich was pitiful the meat was burned or old I honestly could not tell needless to say we were very disappointed.

Great food, great selection, welcoming and friendly staff. Place seems to always be busy. I accidentally gave this compliment in another restaurant's review, but Newk's has one of the BEST chocolate brownies I've had in my long life!!! (And I am a huge fan of a good chocolate brownie)

On 5/21/24 I purchased a Mediterranean Pizza, Cheese Steak Sandwich and Potato Soup. The person that took my order immediately walked off after I placed the order without thanking me and he didn’t give me a receipt. I stood there amazed my such poor service. The taller woman working next to him was also stunned by the bad service. She went to his register to see what I had ordered and informed me where I could pick up my order. The pizza was so dry and lacked any sauce on the pizza. The items on the pizza continued to fall off due to lack of sauce and cheese. There was very little of the requested items on the pizza. It was awful. This is the 3rd time I ordered this pizza and continue to receive a less than quality pizza. I submitted my concerns on the Newk’s site, but unfortunately they really didn’t ask for much detail to assist them in ensuring the concerns would be properly addressed. I appreciate them responding to my feedback. Unfortunately, the response I received from them shows very little concern for trying to get details on who may have participated in such a bad experience for the customer. Gathering this information will aide them in determining who may need to have a retraining session on customer service or food preparation. Instead, I felt they were giving the appearance of truly not caring about ensuring no other customer experiences this in the future. Keep in mind, not only was the initial experience with the employee unacceptable, but the food was clearly completely unacceptable. So, I received a disgusting meal served by a rude employee. Although I didn’t not receive a receipt I did receive a green slip attached to my to go order. Please, see the attached. Moving forward, they should show more appreciation in your customer’s feedback by sending a more personalized letter and not a standard response that is sent to every customer. The staff is always quick and friendly. The orders are always correct. I love the soups, green goddess salad, and toasted pimento cheese.

My previous rant was erased by mistake on my behalf so this one shorter. You guys suck on compensation and empathy for my time and money!! And I will NEVER GO BACK

It's a busy one, a little crowded, but super friendly and fast service. The food is consistently good. I get the Greek salad with added chicken, toss in some parmesan and peppers and I'm good to go. Nice size portion!

This is our stop now when we travel to see family in Mississippi. Service has always been fast and friendly. My daughter who is 6 really enjoys the place. Clean and lots of parking around the area.

I finally tried one of the pizzas. It was the portobello mushroom pizza and it was delicious 😋

One of the better Newks's we've been to. The cashier was super friendly, the food was out within five minutes, and it was GREAT! Definitely recommend Flowood.

I ordered catering for a client lunch after they recommended Newks. This was the first time I had heard of this place, but we had a fantastic experience. I chose to pick it up instead of having it delivered, and I’m glad I did because it’s an impressive operation at the store. The team was quick to help, professional, and went the extra mile even to get us ice. The food was great (try the pimento sandwiches), and my client was thrilled! Thank you, Newk’s Flowood!

Floor was wet & needed the spill to be mopped & clean up. This is a hazard . We were there for over 45 minutes & was still this way when we were leaving restaurant

I had a great experience at Newk's. I got a custom pizza, and I really love the new way they're doing the pizza! The old pizza crust was too thick and doughy, and didn't taste fresh. The new pizza crust is thin and crispy, and tastes fresh! I had to come try it after I heard my friends raving about it. I love the atmosphere in the restaurant too. I recommend placing an online order, especially if you want to make a lot of customizations; it's super easy and you can get discounts for meals using their website to order! I would come eat here again and I highly recommend!

I’ve been a fan of Newks since they first opened in Flowood. They have great service and their sandwiches are great. The bread they use really make the sandwich amazing their newks q is my favorite but the royal is also great. The salads they have are also really good and are large portions. I also like that they are open to letting me specialize my order. The only problem I have ran into is that the food quality can differ from location to location but the one on Lakeland is always great.

I’ve always loved coming to this location. My last 2 online orders have taken quite some time to complete. There has also been times when I have had to wait 30 minutes or more. However, they have the best loaded potato soup ever. And for that reason I will be going back but this time I must call-in or make an order inside the restaurant. Maybe it’s a system issue but I’m hopeful it’s not management.

Always a safe bet. Prices are a bit high, but, the food is always good.

Wait Staff was on point even though they only bring your food to the table after you prepay. Very pleasant atmosphere and limited self serve drinks were decently available. Definitely will go again

the food is always good! the atmosphere is awesome the building is pretty and has a great vibe. and everything u need plus giant cool cups. i love the food too i always get a sausage pepperoni pizza or a half pair the food is so good it’s hard to choose. and dont get me started on their sweet tea!!! the blue powerade is a close second. a great local place good area and good food. great spot to get to go or pop in and enjoy a mea.

Nothing outstanding beyond polite and diligent staff, still worth the price if you want quick and filling.

A typical Newk’s restaurant, consistency being one of the things I like best about going to one. Their full sized salads are epic and they have a bit of variety selection on their menus in case you want something different. The staff always attempts to keep The tables and floor clean but I have observed them slightly understaffed at several locations. As long you your not bothered by a little empty table clutter now and then this is a great place to grab a fairly quick lunch.

I can’t rate the the food because Asst Manager Terrell would not sell me chicken salad or pimento cheese …. I went into the Flowood /Lakeland location Tuesday 8.7.23 and checked the dates on the takeout chicken salad and pimento cheese before ordering … chicken salad had - Best By 8.10.23 pimento cheese had - Best by 8.8.23 Explained to cashier I was leaving for a week going to the beach tomorrow (8.8.23) and wanted quart size chicken salad and pint size pimento cheese to go, Asst Manager Terrell interrupted my conversation saying both were on the take out. I began to tell him I just checked the dates and was going to the beach etc…. Then Asst Manager Terrell proceeded to tell me that the food was good for 4 more days after the expiration date and I said but I’d prefer to get fresher because my family would eat on it til we’d return on 8.15.23 …… Well what do you know he would not sell it to me like I requested!!! I was shocked 😳 and just turned around started walking out the door and just thought I’d make sure I heard him and I asked again ‘you will not sell me the chicken salad or pimento cheese’ and Terrell said ‘it’s all from the same batch .. I just walked out and drove over to chicken salad chick and given exact what I ordered…. Now if the chicken salad he was serving tonight to customers is the same chicken salad on the take out shelf with the best by date 8.10.23 on it, my question will he serve that same chicken salad for 4 more days after the best by date ? Possible upset tummy I’m seeing…. Same with pimento cheese with best by date 8.8.23, is he going to continue to serve it to his customers for 4 more days ? If it’s ‘best by’ for 4 more days then why isn’t that date on it ???? No one in their right mind would believe what Terrell said to me was true, he was just trying to get me to buy outdated food or soon to expire food …

Clean, bright. Popular with locals. Usual Newks menu of sandwiches, salads, soup and pizza. Food well prepared and tasty. Friendly staff is helpful.

Man up front was polite and gave me my order fast, i told them light on the sauce, and ended up getting absolutely no sauce which i thought was a little funny, but my salad i couldn’t eat because most of it was old and didn’t taste good anymore, the cucumber, onions, and carrots tasted and looked like they were a couple of days old

First time I even heard of them. Wanted McAlister's but they were just as good! Different menu options and the strawberry cake was a bonus.

For past few months we have been picking up dinner from Newk's in Flowood. I always get the Newk's Q sandwich. The past 3 or 4 times the bacon has been disgusting. It looks completely uncooked. I believe tonight will be my last order.

First time here. Loved it. Great menu. Will definitely be back. I really like the flexibility on their salads to sub exactly what I want. It was excellent.

Took 25 mins for me to receive my to go order, was only a sandwich and half mac n cheese, and only because I asked after 20 minutes of waiting because they were serving people who were sitting down eating in, that came in after me their food. Not crazy about the wheat berry bread. The 11 grain was so much better.

Food and service were good. Busy lunch crowd made it rather loud.

The Newks-Q with side salad is my go-to every time. So good!!

The service was good, don’t agree with if order a beverage with your order, they prepare before arriving and the beverage is watered down once the ice starts to melt. And upon ordering thru the app you can’t customize for no ice in beverage.

I had The Debra pizza. It's one of my favorites. However, I'm sad to say that on 11/2/2018 it was extremely oily. The dough was so gummy and mushy. The oil overpowered the basil pesto which was also rather bland. Update: 09/03/‘22 I feel that I have to write another comment. The eatery is okay. Many of the previous staff did not return after the pandemic. This restaurant is only 3 miles from my house and my kids like the pizzas. I have not reordered the Debra but like the Mediterranean a lot better. The salads continue to be very good, although they are now smaller servings. My husband and I were able to split one. I increased it to 3 stars because the place seems a bit forgotten. Even after the remodel the floors continue to be sticky and the outdoor eating area seems always dirty IMO.

My go to sandwich is usually a Newk’s Grab&Go chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. But I decided to walk out bc whoever makes them at this location isn’t loading them enough, and they are wrapping the sandwich waaaay too tight. I’m not buying a tiny, squished little ball of mostly bread for $10!

It was my first time eating here. So I played it safe and ordered a Club sandwich. It was GREAT!!!!! Looking forward to my next time there.

I lOVE Newk's in Oxford so stopped at this one to give it a try and it was EXCELLENT! Both the food and great service! Oh, and of course the brownies were to die for as always ;)

I took my nephews out to eat. A TeeTee & Nephews day. I'm vegan I stated that to the young lady taking the order. I had a half garden salad no cheese & a margarita pizza with no cheese add the yellow spicy peppers. They didn't have Italian dressing so I chose the lemon basil vinegarette &. One of my nephews got a pepperoni & the other a whole Caesar salad. The food comes out our pizzas are sitting on the metal circle pan without the paper for the pizza to lay on. But the table behind us did. As I was eating the salad it was tasting weird i thought they added too much basil. Then I began to get sick. So I stop eating the salad & finished the pizza. Later when I got home it got worse. I looked online for the ingredients in the dressing. It has eggs in it. I called the next day the manager is sending me a gift card, but I told him they need to put information on the menu so people will know what the ingredients are to avoid what happened to me. Three stars because my nephews loved their food.

The worst experience I ever had in this flowood location is today 3/19/22, whoever prepared our order need to be out of the kitchen, we ordered 4 pizza, 2 of them looks over cooked maybe they are smaller sizes than the other two we ordered. The other two pizzas were not cooked all the way, and half of the pizza is not even cut, half of the pizza had majority of the vegetables the other half has basically no vegetables on there. It is also missing ingredients from the menu, and 2 pieces shrimp on my pizza are spoiled. Very disappointed! There isn’t a line in front of the register this time, it looks like they are not that busy as usual. If this is the quality of food we are getting from now on, we will not come back!

I’m a dasher in this area, I’ve shown up to pick food up at this location 4 times. Everytime I’ve waited 20+ minutes. And twice they’ve forgotten food. Never sat down and ate there but for sure don’t recommend online ordering.

I wasn’t impressed tonight! I spend 31 dollars on food just to be handed cold soup. I went up there to let them know that the soup was cold. They fixed my order but when the women came out to our table she was really rude. She didn’t say sorry about the soup being cold or anything. She just put it on our table and walked away. My bread on my sandwich was stale. I most likely will not be returning to this location. This use to be a wonderful place to come to.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a big girl and when I peeked at the Greek Salad I ordered on the way home, I thought it wasn't going to be worth it. BOY WAS I WRONG!! That bowl was a lot deeper than I realized, and I ordered some extra stuff on it. They LOADED THAT BOWL DOWN!! I couldn't even eat it all tonight. I have a new salad obsession: Greek salad at Newk's. YEEEEESSSSS!

Overall really good experience, pizza could have been done a bit more, and honey mustard dressing had some zing to it. Service was fast both at the front and in getting the food to the table at the dinner hour. Popular place as it filled up while i was there. Different for me as i have never been to one of these Newk's before.

I am a big fan of Newks Flowood. It is one of my favorite places to eat. I dine in a lot and occasionally take out. I’ve always been satisfied with the food and service. But that has changed. I’m still very much satisfied with the food. But there are things that concern me. When picking up takeout one day, there was a young lady applying her lip balm while standing in the middle of the prep area. This girl also was walking around with her hands in her pockets. Were those hands going to touch the food that was being served? On another occasion I observed two different people in the prep area on their cell phones. It is well known that a cell phone is one of the most unsanitary things that a person touches. Were those hands going to touch food that is being served? Last but not least, my food was brought to my table by a surly young man wearing a hood, and pants that he wore below his waist. Do these observations reflect their training? Unfortunately, because of incidents like this, I may have to consider if I will continue being a regular diner at Newks.

Exceptional customer service. Our waiter went out of their way to put our doggie bags on ice since we would not be able to refrigerate our left overs for some time. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I 💙 Newk's, but if I ask for a side of fruit with my sandwich.. I kinda want more than 2 grapes & I really don't like eating my melon or pineapple that doesn't have enough fruit "meat" on it & it looks like it is close to the rine (sp). Idk who would want to eat that fruit that doesn't taste like it is supposed to.

I don't know what it is about their salads but they are the absolute best! I know they have other food but I don't even want to try it. I always get the cob salad.

Not sure what’s up at the Flowood location. I walked in the door at 11 a.m. and the first thing I noticed was trash on the floors, booths and tables hadn’t been wiped down and there were flies everywhere. The food was good as always but the restaurant was nasty.

After an unusual wait time, we looked around and saw what seemed to be an entire new and young staff – possible due to the recent shortage of workers. The manager visited our table and apologized for the wait, gave my 3 year old son TWO cakes, and credited one of our orders. Although we’re at the end of the pandemic, business are still suffering from its effects. We appreciate the manager for being able to acknowledge an unusual wait for food as that does not always happen in business. We’re human and unforeseen things do happen. We understand.
