Pasta with meatballs was delicious! The bread was awesome!

Not far from Mohegan Sun casino in a nondescript strip mall, this place in my opinion has a good argument for the best pizza north of New York and New Haven, while offering great Arthur Avenue-ish Italian food. Great bread. Weekend specials always extraordinary. Management and staff second to none. Buon appetito!

Outstanding service from the moment you rock in! Immediately you are treated like family Thanksgiving snacks while you wait. Food is delicious! Makes me want to drive from Boston just for takeout!

Had a stuffed thing... pepperoni, sausage, all the cheese & spinach....so GOOD!!!!! Oh & garlic knots!!!!! YUM!!!

Freezing under the ac, with flys fallen in our food, service was slow, and the pizza box was dirty. Me and my family will not be coming back ever again. Do not recommend.

My parents always ordered from Ninos! I ordered for my father's repass for 100 people but had to cancel because of weather. They didn't charge me and donated some of the food that was already made to the local homeless shelter. Our party is rescheduled and we will of course use Nino's. Amazing food and great people with big hearts!

One of my favourite spots little more pricey than your mom and op pizzerias, but not just a pizzara. This is a fine place for Italian dishes

Hidden gem we found while going to Mohegan for some shows. The home made focaccia 🤩 so yummy. Enjoyed an eggplant grinder on delicious fresh roll, home made sauce, and fresh mozzarella. Spectacular and prices super fair!!

Friendly staff (always), great food including specials, decent prices. If you love garlic, the garlic knots are a must! Great New York style pizza, fresh salads and some amazing pasta specials.

The food is soooo good! We got "pops" (strombolis) and they were so good! The Cesar salad was great as well. The bread the give you as you wait with garlic confit olive oil is otherworldly as well. A/C system didn't work that great, but everything else was awesome!

I'm not sure of her name but the woman that took our order was super friendly! As I went out to walk my dog she entertained my 80-plus-year-old aunt and my aunt thoroughly enjoyed it! We split a chicken parmesan grinder and it was fantastic!

Nino's will always have a soft spot in my heart and continues to be a staple place for dinner each time I get the chance to visit. On this particular visit we came in with a group of 10+ people at 8PM on a Sunday and Melissa and the rest of the staff were there to help us feel comfortable, get fed, and spend time together. Thank you for a great meal!

They can only seat parties of 4 and Under. Period! We were 5 people, we left. Sadly.

First timer and I tried the shrimp and scallops!!! Amazing

It's rare I can mark a full five in all the zones, but Ninos- Y'all got it. I visited with my mother earlier today. We both got to watch as the nice man at the counter aided an elderly woman with her order to her car. Good humans here, for sure. First off to bat, I hear the kitchen laughing. I'm a firm believer in happy people making tasty food, so frankly I was reassured. The venue's lovely, just comfortable, cool, and clean. Friendly happy folks in the kitchen, always a good sign. The SMELL here- Was fantastic. My sense of smell is normally dead, but the savories of garlics and baking goods really really stood out to me. I was incredibly pleased at how nicely the goods on display were explained when I asked, and ended up getting a side order of the garlic knots. (By the way, we ripped into the knots in the parking lot- Fluffy, warm, the bread was pretty and the pungent garlic NAILED it all together <3) We got some pizzas and they've been delicious as well- I got a Chicken Bacon Ranch grinder- And for once, I can't finish it! Y'all make a mean grinder! It's dense, it's hearty, there's so much meat that I could split this into 3 and have lunches for three days! I also love it. Cuz it's delish. Only thing I couldn't taste so well was the ranch, but like, ay, bread absorbs, I can always add more (and I did). (Google won't let me select more recommendations, but I vote the grinder or the cheese pizza honestly- Loved the sweeter aspect to the pepperonis though, can't tell if I'm crazy or they really are a little sweeter than the usual pepperoni) Overall- We'll be back! This place is rocking it, may the good vibes roll and y'all continue to flourish. Wonderful!

Of all the places in and around south eastern Connecticut, I have heard one name repeated many times over. It is not just a name of a place but the history of the people that it comes from. I remember the old valentinos in ledyard, the energy and faces that once made that restaurant what it was. Since that erra I've only heard of the switch over to ninos, never getting to experience if the food was still up to that standard. Well I can tell you finally my friends that of all the pizza and all the places you can go. If this one's a top your list you may do yourself a favor to find some where else. I myself had a pizza which was okay a little thing and crisp for my liking but the sauce was good. It honestly made the pizza with the minimal toppings spared over an 18 dollar small pie. But much to anyone's surprise no other dishes where any more partial. Pastas with no meat for 20 dollars a plate sitting next to a pasta dish with fish which current market value is above 3x chicken. So the pasta dish below it with salmon is unexpectedly cheaper. Now if the sounds of this haven't quite convinced you. Let me then add to you the next week of my life that was inflicted after dinning here. My wife's food was also as described to me bland yet optimistic that I may personally enjoy it as a left over the following day. Unfortunately I took her up on that offer, and hours later I come home to a very ill wife, with food poisoning. And a daughter with food poisoning. After a quick conversation our daughter had also shared upon my wife's dish the night prior. And now regretting my decision only a few hours before ended up the following day as well.. with food poisoning. I have not had an experience with a resturant that I know undoubtedly so I will never return to. But between the cost of plates between the service and the atmosphere I just don't see the comparison. I don't see the value in the name ninos nor the hype that goes into the restaurant. Omongst all else I will never forget how sick we all got from such under rated food in the first place. 🙃 just a most terrible experience and to know I paid good money to end up out of work and get my entire family sick. I would suggest anyone seeing this be wiser then I.

Awesome experience and amazing food! Review Update: Came to Nino’s twice in 48 hours, back to back dinners in 2 nights while in town for a trade show at the Mohegan. Brandon was my server both nights and absolutely killed it, not one moment did I have an empty beverage. My drink was always full/replenished and the service was absolutely impeccable. I’m not sure what’s better, the pie or the pasta, but dang it is top notch! These guys/gals don’t play around. Authentic CT Italian at an affordable price with unreal service! Nino’s for President!

Great Italian restaurant! The food is amazing and the staff are even better! So welcoming and fun, they make you feel like you are part of the family. We had bread, salads, antipasto plate, spaghetti and meatballs, and shrimp Alfredo. All were delicious and fresh! It's only 20 mins from the ferry, 20 mins from foxwoods and even closer to mohegan. Definitely a great place to try and still close enough to everything.

Ordered the Pasta Alla Napolitana. Plenty of veggies, mushrooms and garlic. Served with salad and homemade focaccia bread. Delicious. 😋

I tried a pizza to go. I had to put it in my oven to crisp it up. It was a limp piece of slop.Do they ever try their own pizza?? I dare them to hold up a slice and tell me I'm wrong. The dough is garbage

Absolutely amazing pizza slices! I had the sweet and sour chicken slice which had a little spicy kick to it, such a nice flavor! My husband had a buffalo chicken slice which was also fantastic. Meatballs were very very good on the grinder as well as their sauce and it was toasted to a perfect consistency! Delicious tasty food cooked to perfection! Def coming back! Prices are decent also! Waitstaff was very pleasant! Five stars

Stopped in and tried a few slices and a meatball grinder. I’d have to say this was one of the best meatball grinders I’ve had in a long time! It was excellent. The server was awesome too. Getting drink refills without having to ask is a huge plus to me, and he did just that. The bread they served before the meal was so delicious, that could’ve been the meal in itself. We definitely will be stopping in more often to try more food off the menu. I give This place an A+

My boyfriend and I visited Ninos for the first time two nights ago. Oh my gosh, it was so good. My boyfriend had just finished playing soccer with his friends, and was starving, so we ordered a large order of bacon cheese fries and a Grandma Pizza. We were not disappointed! The Grandma pie was even better reheated the next day! We definitely will be back soon!!!

My wife and I were told by family members and friends to try Nino's pizzeria so we finally decided to try it and it didn't disappoint the employees were friendly and offered us a sample piece of pizza which was a nice touch. we ended up ordering the garbage pie pizza without mushrooms (don't let the name fool you it isn't garbage) and it was worth the price we paid well worth traveling the extra miles for .we will definitely be going back again and try some of there other menu items I would recommend Nino's Pizzeria to anyone and if you haven't tried them yet you should .

Grandma’s pie is amazing. But the mozzarella wedges? Only 2 wedges for $14 is ridiculous. Even Chilis give you 3 or 4. You’re charging $7 per wedge. Unacceptable.

I gave 4 stars because I've had a fair share of 5 star experiences here where the pizza was absolutely wonderful. Crust cooked perfectly, not too greasy, not soggy and just an all around good pizza. Wings and garlic bread were cooked just right and tasted great. However I have also had some 3 star experiences where the pizza was incredibly soggy, wasn't cooked well and the wings were also soggy. I would love to have said it was always a pleasant experience in terms of the food, however it can be a hit or miss. The staff has always been attentive and nice.

If you're in the area or Mohegan sun and want to explore the area for food. Go and stop at Nino's pizzeria for great food and service. And live music played by family member, aka Dad. Servings enough for two.

Wow! Great pizza here. Was in towns visiting family and craved good NY style pizza. We ordered pizza and garlic knots. The pizza was delicious but let me tell you the GARLIC KNOTS are crazy good. I ate 3 and wanted more. Ask for extra marinara on the side and dip them. So. Good.

I decided to order ninos because the hotel receptionist recommended them. It took over an hour to get the pizza after they told me on the phone that it would be 20 to 30 minutes. I must say it was a huge disappointment after receiving the pizza to find out that it was cold. Lost 27 dollars today

Waitress food both were excellent. We stayed at the Hyatt and wanted some place close. My veal sandwich was very good and pizza was very very good. Must try if in area.

Staff is BEYOND FRIENDLY! So welcoming and patient, makes the total experience incredibly enjoyable. Not to mention, they sell single slices of pizza, which is perfect for the worker who is on the go. Their pizza is INCREDIBLE! Highly recommend the pepperoni with the Sriracha honey!!!

Wrote this review last night and it wasn’t posting to the public. Truly disappointed!!! Recently moved to the area from RI and have been on the search for a good pizza joint and came across Nino’s on Google, saw the good reviews and decided to order a large Margherita pizza. Got home and the pizza was SOGGY I couldn’t even hold it up. Took a few bites and lost my appetite. For the price I paid($24) I expected a gourmet pizza. Really upset I wasted my money on this. OVERPRICED and Pizza is SUBPAR!! I guess I have to drive back home to RI for good food.

My go-to pizza is the Grandma Pie...The food is delicious 😋 I drive an hour and it's so worth the trip.

This is the place for the best new York style pizza in the region. Richie and his team do it right and are true masters of their craft. Delicious pizza, awesome pasta dishes , always generous portions and quality ingredients speak volumes across the menu. UPDATE: Still the best pizza 🍕 in new London county, all day everyday

We tried the "Bee Sting" Pizza from Nino's and WOW! It will be my go to pizza when I am craving something sweet and savory with just the right amount of spicy! My new favorite next to Grandma's Pie Pizza from Nino's.

On my way to ferry wanted good pizza and read great reviews for here. The staff very friendly and they give you a small taste of pizza while you wait 😋 I ordered a pie to take with me back to Southampton NY it’s very thin crust with rich sauce and nice coverage of mozzarella. The crust is crisp and I like how the sauce and cheese goes almost to edge not a big inch of empty space. Saw a lot of people of regulars goin in and out so it’s a easy detour to pick up pie or anything else.

Local spot near the casino. It must be good we saw several firefighters with a large order! We had a calzone and a sandwich wrap with onion rings. All was delicious and reasonably-priced. We will definitely go back again. I will try to update on our second visit

Ordered a large tray of sausage, peppers and onions!!! Large pieces of onions and green peppers was a big plus. Delicious sausage which I cut with a fork!!! A1!!! Can’t say enough!!!!! Outstanding!!

BEST PIZZA EVER! They have an AMAZING bread with garlic oil that is AWESOME. You will want to take some to go. The staff was great and dining room cozy. A must try and we will return for sure.

Pleasant staff and always friendly Service. While you're waiting for your takeout they will sometimes give you a small slice of taste. We come here for lunch often and would recommend it to anybody in the area.

This place is always busy. Whether in the restaurant or by phone. We went for lunch, a little after 11 AM, on a weekday, and the phone was ringing off the hook. Our waitress, Rayna was awesome! She was so sweet to myself and my 3 kids. I loved how she was into the music, having a good time and smiling the while time. We ordered a cheese pizza and Nino's special wings. Everything was delicious!

This place had great reviews so I decided to try it had my two boys with me who could live off pizza lol but it has to be gooood pizza. As soon as I walked in I knew I found the right place the smell is unbelievable in there My mouth was watering The pizza was amazing That flat New York fold the slice in half and it holds up That was this Pizza, oh and to the lady who raved about the garlic knots in her review yes I did make sure to get extra sauce you were so right 😉, I will definitely be back next month for my birthday The guy making the pizza said he'd sing Happy Birthday lol.

Stopped in and met Anthony who was very personable and helpful with bu tue slice options. As we were talking he gave me a sample of the hamburger pizza special which was excellent! This was a quick stop but I can see that they have a regular following and good eat in and take away options.

I get the grandma’s pizza and it’s one of my favorite pizzas of all time. It’s everything. I get this pizza all the time. I took a title loan out on my car just to be able to buy more of this pizza. My wife is divorcing me because of my financial decisions. I don’t care. Now there’s nobody to stand between me and more of this pizza. 10/10 staff are very nice too.

I'll tell you I just got a Mediterranean salad from here! IT was the BEST! And I have to say when a restaurant that has really good food, and their hospitality is as great as their food, this is the place to come! They really make you feel welcome! THANK YOU YOU GUYS!😃🩷🩵

Best pizza in Connecticut hands down sorry no pictures it didn't last that long

We’ve been ordering from Ninos for years. Coming from NYC, we had high expectations for pizza and Nino’s is perfection! We love the Grandma’s pizza, Garbage pie, and just a slice of cheese hits the spot. Their salads are fantastic, loaded with toppings and delicious homemade dressing. We’ve used them for catering several times throughout the years- I highly recommend! Enjoy!

Best pizzeria in the area hands down. Garlic knots are to die for, closest to real NY Pizza you can get anywhere in Eastern CT.

Nino's is like the pizza ship that sails forever because once you taste the pizza pie you always want more and I certainly make my stop here when in the area for one of the best around. Tried the fried mozzarella today, was certainly amazed at the taste and shape, pictures next time when not eaten so fast that I forgot to even think about photos.

This review is strictly for the pizza, I can't comment on their Italian dinners. If you have ever been to an Illianos several locations in CT the pizza here is very similar. They even give you a free small slice when you go to pick up you're food. As for the pizza, it's okay, not pepes or Sally's level but you could do much worse. They do have the cuppy pepperoni like pepes so bonus points for that. Negative points though for not having a website. It's 2023, not 2003, if you're cheating out on that, where else are they trying to cut back?!

Our family has been getting pizza here for years- sometimes once a week- because you can never have enough pizza! Not only do they have delicious pizza, their salads are amazing. Each salad is loaded with toppings, and their homemade dressing is great. We have also taken advantage of their catering services, and we have never been disappointed. Ninos is our family go-to. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Amazing! Full of flavor! Prime pizzeria. We tried the garlic knots and fell in love. Margarita pizza was perfectly cooked and the sauce! Holy moly it was so tasty. You gotta try this pizzeria. Next trip to east coast I’ll be back.

It was really busy when I went, but the workers didn't seem affected at all! The customer service was amazing. A polite and funny guy was running the register while the rest of the workers were clearly doing their best. Nobody seemed like they didn't want to be there.

Huge portion sizes!!! Very friendly staff! We ate at the restaurant… I would have included pics of the food but we were so hungry that we devoured it as soon as the plates hit the table!! Best fries around for sure!
