Top tier BBQ here. Stopped here for lunch yesterday and was the first in line. Melt in your mouth brisket, among the best I’ve had. I got a rib bone and sausage as well, both were great! The wife got a double smash burger and it was one of the best burgers we’ve had, nice grilled bun with meat and cheese. Simple burger is what made it so great! We opted for no pickles and sauce on the side, the sauce was a sweet bbq type sauce and I feel like the burger was better without it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Wish I didn’t live 2.5 hours away or else I’d be here all the time!

Phenomenal BBQ! We just ate here for the first time and it was some of (if not the best) BBQ I've ever had. The sliced brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage were fantastic. The sauce is amazing. And WOW, the potato salad was by far the best I've ever had. They were all super friendly and had very quick service.

Amazing BBQ and customer service. They had just ran out of brisket when we got there, but they did not disappointed! So get there early! Everything was so flavorful and you can really tell they put a lot of thought in every aspect of these dishes. The flavor combo of everything was out of this world! We got the nachos with pulled pork, mac and cheese and smoked street corn. It was hot and I really appreciated the shaded seating and free water. I’ve had BBQ all over the US and this is definitely one of the best I’ve had!

Randomly stopped by after seeing it on Google. We arrived right before 12, and a few items already sold out. We will have to come back to try the Mac and cheese, but let me tell you…. Best brisket we have ever had!! So good and will be back!

Wowza! Their food is delicious! Ordered sliced brisket, ribs, smoked corn, potato salad, kale slaw, and cowboy beans and it all tasted amazing!! 🤩

The brisket tastes like meat candy! It is perfectly seasoned, smoked, and fatty. Not excessively fatty. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was deliciously, flavored and perfectly cooked. The ribs were moist and delicious without being overly sweet. The smoked corn was great! I could be mistaken, but the banana pudding tasted like it was a custard and more the consistency of crème brûlée and had the crunchy vanilla wafer topping. I did add one fresh banana on top and shared it between three people. Perfection! I hope they go into business full-time and make a killing!

Local food truck right off the highway. Wife and I deviated from our normal bbq place to give this one a try and I think we’re coverts. The food is incredible, and the woman running the truck was very warm and friendly.

I’ve only had BBQ like this at one other location, the best-rated BBQ in TX. Move out of the way, Goldees. These guys are coming for that #1 spot. I have wanted to stop by for some time now, but I have missed them every time because they’re only open Wednesday to Saturday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Just by the hours of operation, you can tell the respect for the craft is exceptionally high. I drove over an hour to visit, so I didn’t make it in time for the jalapeño cheddar sausage, but I made it in time for everything else. I didn’t have to wait too long to be served, and they had free water in coolers with benches next to their smoker. When I was served my plate, the first bite I went for was the crispy brioche bun and perfectly seared cheeseburger; I knew this place was unique from that first bite. I couldn’t resist the presentation of the street corn, so I dug into that next, and I must say that's some of the best corn I’ve ever been served (and I’m Latino) at any joint. The mac n’ cheese was also a banger; it was not creamy or dry, just right. I came for the brisket, so of course, that was my last bite before dessert, and man, if brisket gold was a thing, these guys are stashed with it. This is how BBQ should be smoked and served. The respect for the craft doesn’t lack one bit here. I’ve only had an experience like this at one other joint, and that joint just so happens to be the best-rated BBQ in Texas, so yes, these guys are standing neck and neck with giants. I’m a huge foodie and a BBQ fanatic, so I’ve been looking for a joint that comes close to Goldees and finally found it. If you don’t want to wait in line for hours for the best BBQ you've ever had, this is precisely where you should come. I’m not lying when I say it’s going to be hard to top these guys because right now, there’s a huge gap between them and everyone else. A HUUUUGE gap.

Absolutely the best BBQ I’ve ever had! Derek & team are extremely friendly. You can tell they truly care about making the best bbq possible. Highly recommend everything on the menu! Some of my favorites are the Texas twinkies ,pork ribs , bbq nacho’s , & the house made sausage ,Mac & cheese. They smoked turkey is a game changer as well. We visit often as well as order for our holiday meals.

The food and the people at north texas smoke and second to none! I was first introduced to them at the decatur food truck festival two years ago. I’m so glad they were there because I normally would not venture out to a random food truck on my own. This is my favorite spot in town and only of the only bbq joints I’ll go to. Definitely check it out and make sure you order a texas twinkie!

Everything that I have tried is delicious. Brisket is melt your mouth, all of the sides are so good, everything has such a good flavor. Top notch food and friendly service.

We believe North Texas Smoke has the best BBQ! Their meat is tender and juicy and their side dishes are amazing. Love their homemade pickles too. Our absolute favorite item on their menu are their Texas Twinkies which are heavenly. Sometimes you have to preorder and make a little bit of a drive but it’s totally worth every penny. Highly recommend!

I visited for the first time on a Saturday shortly after they opened and it was pouring rain. I ordered the Texas Trinity Plate, added a sausage link so I could try both kinds, had mac n cheese, cowboy beans, and added a side of loaded potato salad. I also added a Twinkie and a double smash burger. Service was quick even with them having to make the smash burger and they threw in an extra Twinkie. I went with banana pudding for dessert. I killed the smash burger in my truck in the parking lot. Seasoned well, filled with juice and flavor. The Brisket, ribs and sausage were all great. I’ll give the cheese and jalapeño sausage a slight edge over the OG. I’m not a sauce guy but the sauce had a good flavor and wasn’t too sweet. All the sides were solid and the Twinkies were awesome. The banana pudding was just ok in my opinion. Such a small amount for what you pay and just wasn’t a stand out but I’m not knocking any stars off a bbq place cause their banana pudding didn’t knock my socks off. Service was great, no issues at all, still out there slinging BBQ in the dumping rain. I’ll definitely return.

From the brisket to the Texas twinkies to the loaded potato salad, this is some of the best barbecue you will have. The moist brisket simply melts in your mouth, and the Texas twinkies have just the right amount of spice, smoke, and flavor. Very friendly and prompt service - highly recommended and worth the short drive to Decatur!

I really must say I'm very satisfied with my choices with NTSB because everything is so fresh and hot. The brisket is great because of the tenderness and bark on it, and the smash burgers are the best on every level, especially loaded. The service is always great. A smiling face is always greeting you when you order, and I work next door. Now I see that the word is out because there are more people who show up for lunch now. So congrats on this great BBQ spot .

We ordered sliced brisket, Twinkies, jalapeno cheddar sausage and potato salad. My sister ordered ribs , smoked street corn and potato salad. Everything was DELICIOUS, the brisket was so tender and absolutely delicious and the Twinkies were YUMMY

Amazing food! Everything I've tried has been awesome. Best brisket ive ever had. Ribs and sausage are killer. His brisket boudain is out of this world. All of the sides are really good. No matter what I'm getting on a given day I have to get me a texas twinkie, best stuffed peppers I've ever had. Can't go wrong with anything here. Derek is a great guy too.

I am speechless after visiting North Texas BBQ…first off the smell walking up just to order is the best smell I’ve ever had bless my nostrils!! I ordered the smash burger and the potato salad for myself and let me tell you! I’ve never been so sad to see a burger be gone it was so delicious and full of flavor! My boyfriend ordered pretty much the rest of the menu which I also ate because with food that good you have to try it all! When you go there you have to try all 3 of his sauces and the Texas twinkies because they’re absolutely unbeatable! But the cherry on top of our experience was the hospitality and kindness of the owner, we were the last customers and he came out and sat with us and told his story and we truly feel blessed to have met such a wholesome man who is a master BBQer!! Thank you North Texas BBQ and you will absolutely see us again!

Solid place, purchased a whole brisket for Christmas and everyone enjoyed. Will be back next time I am in town.

Great food truck BBQ. Quality meats and sides. Not in expensive but good BBQ rarely is. Brisket, sausage and ribs were great, sister had smoked turkey? Whatever! That was excellent and large serving portions. There’s are a few outside tables, but little cover from the elements. 105 on our visit was a bit uncomfortable, but the food made it worthwhile. Not easy to find, but you won’t regret the search.

It doesn't matter what you order, it's gonna be some of the best you've ever had, served by some of the best people you'll ever meet. Juicy, tender, TEXAS, brisket; tender, flavorful ribs; the smash burger is juicy and don't miss the gold sauce; solid sides (especially the street corn and the cheesy grits). Make the trip...MAKE THE TRIP! You won't regret it!

I was passing through for work and looked up BBQ spots on google and North Texas Smoke can up with amazing looking food. So I had to stop by and try it for myself. Everything was amazing and those burnt ends and bananas pudding is top of the line. Those brisket boudin link are cooked to perfection. I will definitely make a U-turn for this place.

Incredible little spot just outside of town. Was in the area for work and stumbled upon this place via a quick google search. Ribs and brisket were incredible, top tier. The real deal-maker though was the quality of the sides. They don’t mess around! Best grits I’ve ever had and potato salad also amazing and full of flavor. A real BBQ place will have sides as good as their meats and this place nails it.

This place absolutely has a 5 star brisket we will be coming back!!

Ate here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and Immediately ranked it in the top 3 best bbq I have ever had.

Wanted to try some Texas BBQ for the first time and was looking for a place that would be quick so I could get back on the road west. Saw this place had 5 stars and had to give it a try. Needless to say, North Texas Smoke BBQ did not disappoint! Amazing brisket, pork belly burn tips, and house links! Their sides and bbq sauce were also perfect. To top off the experience was excellent service from the owners/staff. Would recommend to anyone!

Wow, we were driving through Decatur and happened upon this honey hole. The brisket sandwich was fantastic, moist, nice smoke flavor along with a little peppery bark spice. Highly recommend stopping if you have the opportunity.

If you want some of the Best BBQ in Texas, make the trip to Decatur. Every Protein is Fantastic and the sides are all delicious. Derek is Passionate about his Craft and it shows. Definitely one of my favorite BBQ joints anywhere!!

I have died and gone to BBQ heaven, y’all. In true small town fashion I pulled into the tractor supply parking lot and opened all my containers of bbq goodness because it’ll be too long until I get home! Can we take a moment to enjoy the presentation good enough for a BBQ competition? I pre-ordered online to make sure I got what I’ve been waiting so long to try, because they sell out in a matter of hours! I’m really digging their spice rub they use. The burnt ends are so tender, flavorful, and just melt in your mouth, the brisket is so juicy, great flavor with that rub crust, it just pulls apart effortlessly. Let’s talk about this potato salad….OHMYGOODNESS, and I’m picky as can be. It’s like leveled up from my twice baked potatoes in the pre-stuffed potato guts form, and I can’t seem to put it down. The banana pudding is really good too, it’s creamy, it’s rich, it’s bananaygoodness! He loaded me up with sauces which I don’t normally use, but I could do shots of these sauces! They feature the rub used with the meats in the regular BBQ and Gold versions. Soooo good! I’m seeing yummy sammidges in my future after I get home. Great Job North Texas Smoke BBQ, you live up to what everyone’s been saying and then some! Life customer here, BBQ and service can’t be beat. Thanks for serving Decatur TX, and see you next time!
