Wow!! The Best Meal we’ve had in Beaufort since being here for a month. The duck was amazing, and the Corn Beef was the best I’ve ever had. And the server, manager, and owner all are very nice and said hello and it's obvious that they want to please. We will be back.

Absolutely phenomenal... I can't remember the last time when I went to a restaurant and everything, literally everything on the menu was amazing. We had the escargot, seveache, deviled eggs, pork belly buns and pizza... Everything tasted better than you can hope for. And the service was amazing - our waitress was busy with so many tables yet she made sure she was constantly taking care of us. Truly one of the best dining experiences we've had in weeks... And that's after having eaten all over Hilton Head.

Absolutely Fantastic! Hung out on the sidewalk like a groupie, waiting for the door to open at 5pm. Scored 2 seats at the bar. Bartenders, Mixologists, Sorcerers? Whatever you call them, these gentlemen had it going! And food... appetizers, pasta, lamb shanks, tiramisu! All executed to perfection. My husband loved the Bourbon selection. Enough said!

Fantastic overall experience that includes top notch bourbon selection, comfortable atmosphere and eclecticenu that included possibly the best gnocchi we've ever had. Will definitely be back when next visit Beaufort.

Loved it. Ate deviled eggs, bao buns, and the astounding Corned Beef/brisket. Super creative menu. Mike and Phil at the bar make a great drink. Will be back for sure.

I’ll do a quick food review but I’m really here to mention the disgusting cockroach. Food was bland, got watermelon arugula feta salad and the steak. Watermelon was mealy and tasteless, feta was pretty non existent, arugula was good. Steak had a heavy char taste and chewy in the middle, I ordered it medium, but came out super bloody and runny ( which I don’t really mind as long as it’s cooked the right way) you can tell they just threw it on the flame super high and flash cooked the outside which leaves steak with that rubbery grey ring around the outside and a raw inside. They cut the steak in the back, probably didn’t even let it rest cause the whole plate was a juicy bloody mess when it got to me. Whoever cooked this steak needs to enroll in culinary school. I don’t even think they salted the steak at all (or the hospital style mashed potatoes) steak tasted like I put a piece of charcoal in my mouth. I’m SO surprised about all the good reviews. I ate almost all my food (despite the taste) until I saw a cockroach crawling around on the table !!!!! I wasn’t even going to leave a review until I saw this disgusting thing with its antenna waving around crawling around on the coffee table in the front where the couch is ( I sat there cause I was alone and it was a PACKED house) after I took this picture with the flash on the cockroach scurried into the crevice of the table. I’m SOOO disgusted and would have finished my 2 slices of steak if I didn’t see that. After I saw that I closed out as fast as I could and got the heck out of there. I showed the picture of the roach to the hostess because they should know that a customer saw that. (I’m sure they all know the place has roaches). It’s just so disgusting this place was horrible. Bartenders and hostess were very nice though.

Wow, An Amazing place to eat and drink. Every bite that I took was melt in your mouth. I had the Corn Beef w/Cabbage and Mashed potatoes. OMG The best I’ve ever had. And the pineapple upside down cake was to Die for. A great place to eat and drink. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely make reservations for this place. We arrived at opening on a Tuesday and there was a crowd with reservations. NYC pizza and burgers were good (4 out of 5 stars). Seared salmon was great but had a little too much celery purée on top, easily scraped some off to the side (5 out of 5).

Was a great evening at the Tavern. Ordered olive tapenade with goat cheese served with fresh bread slices. Basil tomato soup and grilled Portobello with grilled radicchio salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Duck confetti with butternut squash. Wow what a powerhouse of flavors. Everything was superb. Had and New Fashion a play on the Old Fashion drink. Hubby had a lemon basil vodka. We shared the tapenade and duck small plate. Shared a butterscotch pudding, that put us over the top full, but was delicious. Reservation are welcomed but not required. We slipped in cause some didn't show up on time. They have pizza oven in third room. Service is incredible. Nice cozy place to enjoy an evening out.

Stellar thin crust pizza-try the manchego mushroom version-to die for. Corned beef was good. Chicken was not - way too dry. Drinks were superb. Try the Snoop Juice. Decent wines. Very friendly staff. Sweet owners.

This place is only open for dinner, but you better make a reservation or get there early. It will fill up! Great variety on the menu, great cocktails, and a friendly staff

Fantastic meal, great vibe! Just make sure you make reservations. Wait staff was very informed about all the options and the craft cocktails by the bartenders set a new standard.

From the moment you walk in the door the staff makes sure you feel like family. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere cozy, and the owners and staff have created a unique experience that keeps us coming back again and again. (And we live in Charleston.)

Waited over an hour and change for food. Several times, I had to ask other servers where our server was. Meanwhile, waiter with tattooed arms comes around after receive food as the place is closing and asks for leftover pizzas.... Apparently, tips weren't good this night. Acoustics are terrible, waiter is a beggar, good luck parking.

Was expecting a great meal based on reviews. The food was not great. The Gnocchi was starchy and the sauce tasted like it was straight out of the jar. The Low country captain meal while tasty, was overpowering. Too much of the same taste, with nothing to balance it out. Can not recommend.

The food is yummy (most important). We ordered salmon and pork chop. The puree is good and seasoning on point. I tried the 'Life's a peach cocktail', and it turned out good and sweet. I love it 😁. We came here during the weekday and dinner time, and it's a bit busy, but the waiting line wasn't that crazy.

Always a wonderful night out at OBT. Staff is friendly and accommodating, food is yummy. Just a tad noisy, but that’s OBT! Highly recommend for any occasion.

The shrimp with garlic appetizer was incredibly delicious. The pork chop was thick and juicy. Will definitely go back.

Really first rate in every respect. The beef shoulder tenderloin was excellent as were the Purgatory cocktails. Service was fast and friendly without being rushed and prices were reasonable.

Old Bull Tavern is wonderful! Katie was our server and she was very friendly, helpful and attentive! Our meals were excellent. We shared the Winemakers Salad which was huge and very fresh! The Madrileno Pizza was awesome… the Iberico ham was indeed the star and truly complimented the pizza. The Ricotta Gnocchi with Shrimp was very good, shrimp cooked perfectly. We definitely order it all over again. We ended with the much recommended Tiramisu! It did not disappoint!! My favorite Tiramisu ever! We highly recommend Old Bull Tavern and make reservations as it fills up quickly!

Excellent restaurant in downtown Beaufort. Full bar, great staff and excellent food. Really enjoyed the evening at the Old Bill Tavern.

Best pizza in the area! Always busy, but management will do their best to find you a seat, sometimes even the sitting area by front window! Truly a hidden gem in our Beaufort area- delicious cocktails! The men especially, love to gather here!

Old Bull Tavern offers a drink and food menu that far exceeded our expectations. The staff was amazing and super efficient. The atmosphere was perfect. Stacy at the front was great with our young daughters and got us a table fast. Megan took great care of us and when I went looking for the owner to praise everyone I met Ashley who said that's why she'd worked there for over a decade. Ashley said the owner walked her down the isle and that she'd pass along how happy we all were. Outstanding job Old Bull Tavern Team!!!

Joint frequented by locals. Peach perfectly poached sitting on top of goat cheese on toast sprinkled with peppery olive oil. Piquant rocket. Delicious. Lowcountry Captain was flavourful and rice al dente. Nice. Good beer and drinks. Friendly service. A true delight.

We loved the mixed olives and the oyster appetizers. The pepperoni pizza and taglitelle were absolutely delicious.

Amazing!! Stumbled across this tavern walking around town. We highly recommend to eat and take in the full experience. We had a few drinks and stayed for a meal and dessert. You will not regret. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were amazing to watch. Food, drinks and service were amazing.

They couldn’t accommodate me initially but took my name and a few minutes later I was seated at the bar. Service was a little chaotic but that added to the charm. My food was excellent. The photo is the poached pear salad. Really delicious.

We use to love Old Bull Tavern when we moved here 9 years ago. We went here several months ago had a reservation and still had to wait in line lots of tourists have heard about this local place now it’s ruined! The prices have doubled the food portions are smaller and it’s just not as good as it once was. We probably will never go here again very disappointing what out of towners can do to a place and greed of the owners!

If you can get in, it’ll be worth it!

Atmosphere and waitress were outstanding. 1 dish was excellent. 1 was ok. 1 was bad: overly smoky meat smothered in BBQ sauce over rice, ie, gross. Protein portions were very small. The beers were not good. $80. We won’t be back.

Wow so happy we found this place ! Look for the metal bull sign because there is no name on the building . Can't say enough about the service , the food and the atmosphere. You MUST try this place if you are in Beaufort! Well thought out menu, and great wine selection too!

Great menu, great food, nice dining space, poor service, which is a darn shame. Restaurant was not short staffed. We felt rushed to order as soon as we sat down for our 6 pm reservation. Waiter asked if we were ready to order 5 min after sitting down and at same time when he was taking our first drink order. Waiter was not interested with helping us out with local beer selection and he seemed bothered by it. One answer to one of our questions was "I don't know" well if you don't know, that's fine, but that is when you say, "let me check with the bartender". It took 10 min for drinks to arrive, ok, but when they arrived the waiter asked, again, if we were ready to order? No, would like to enjoy our drink first, review menu and then order. It was 615 at this time. He then disappeared for a good period of time. By 630 he returned and we asked for a second round of drinks and advised we would order dinner when he bought the drinks. Waiter then informed us he needed to turn this/our table by 8 pm so best to order now. It is not the customer's fault it took the Waiter 30 minutes to bring two rounds of drinks. We would have been out of there by 730, even without him saying anything. We felt rushed and the whole thing was just one awkward exchange. If this was a diner or mediocre restaurant, it wouldnt have phased us,, but if your spending $150 for two, including tip, service should be up to par and it wasnt, actually borderline rude. I had read about this restaurant and was so excited and looking forward to trying them on our first visit to Beaufort. The food was excellent, comfortable hip dining room but no triple crown. Would never go back. The night before we we ate at The Shelring Ale House. They definitely won the triple crown! Great room to enjoy some drafts on the water, very tasty & good quality food truck menu and the friendliest folks working there who were so nice. Definitely going back.

The best bar tenders in beaufort

Great menu - very eclectic! Kat was a wonderful server and gave good advice on menu items. Good portions - not over the top so you have room for their scrumptious desserts. A bit on the noisy side. If better weather we would have loved sitting out on the patio.

We had one of the best meals that I’ve had in a long time! The local shrimp with garlic was exceptional and we really enjoyed the house made fettuccine spoleto with pancetta and the Madrileno wood-fired pizza. Our server Kat was excellent! We will be back!

Best meal we had in Beaufort! We got super lucky to get there and in line before they opened, so we snagged a seat at the bar. The place quickly filled up, and you should have a reservation if you want table seating. The fresh pasta dishes were amazing! They have a fun drink menu, too. Definitely worth going!

We had a reservation at 6:45 pm in the Bar Dining. I had a friend visiting from out of town. This was her first visit to Beaufort. We were seated a little late which was no problem for us. Our waiter was Hector. We ordered drinks to start. After receiving our drinks we looked ant the menu and ordered a salad to share with 2 entrees. Ordered a second drink while waiting for our entrees. Our entrees were delivered after a longer than usual wait, we did not mind as we were enjoying our evening. The plates looked great. We started to eat our dinners and our waiter Hector, came up to the table to say our table was reserved at 8:30 pm and we would need to finish and pay our check so they could reset the table. It was about 8:15. We were not even half way through our plates. He said the restaurant has a policy of 1 hr and 45 min table limit (he said it was noted on our reservation and their website, it is not anywhere written that we could find) and if we wanted dessert we would need to move to a different table. At no time did he even ask how our dinner was. We told him we were going to eat our dinners and he left. A few minutes later, we were still eating and he brought the manager, Josh, with him and he told us we didn’t understand about running a restaurant and we needed to finish and pay so the next party could be seated. He was completely unprofessional and out of line. They both were. Josh left the table saying please leave now loud enough for surrounding tables to hear. It was humiliating. Hector brought a coffee to my friend, got our checks and paid. Did not tip the waiter and when we stopped at the hostess stand on the way out to ask the owners name, Josh came up behind the person we were speaking with, leaned in and said “Go” and used a hand gesture. These two staff members do not in anyway understand what it is to carry themselves with professionalism and respect of others. We will never return here nor would we encourage anyone to dine here. It’s a shame as we are local and like supporting small businesses. There are many, many other fantastic options for dining in Beaufort, definitely select somewhere other than Old Bull Tavern.

This place was full on a mid winter weeknight! Very popular for a reason. Large, varied, unique menu. Cool atmosphere & good service. Great location only a block from waterfront in heart of historic district. Had a parking lot too. Only open for dinner for a few hours so make a reservation.

I had the garlic shrimp and hamburger. I drank a local Brown Ale. It was all delicious. The hamburger was cooked to order and was quite juicy. The garlic shrimp were delectable. We sat on the outside porch. The temperature was 50°, but they had a very nice array of heaters and a wood pit. We were very cozy. Our waitress was Catt who was very good at her job. Very nice visit.

The angus shoulder tenderloin dish is tremendously delicious. The service and vibe of the place are great. I'm definitely looking forward to stopping in again.

We always try to sit at the bar. We frequently meet other friendly diners. Food, drinks and staff are always great! Fun ambiance of a speakeasy.

To dark but food is excellent. Was there b/4 but was not impressed so stayed away. This time the impression was excellent. All food items for 4 persons were excellent. Will go back. There again. Fool excellent but had to try to eat a lamb shank using a butter knife, didn't work well. Left about 1/2 of it. Noise level is higher than what is allowed at Levenworth Federal Prison and higher than government mandated level.

If you visit Beaufort this is a place you have to go to. Excellent food and great atmosphere

A unique spot for locals and tourists smart enough to enjoy and be open to fun. Food was good and not overpriced. We did make reservations. And we did have great time.

My favorite place to visit in downtown Beaufort SC! Don't forgot ask if you want a different pasta with your dish. They make accomodations! It was amazing.

We spent a great evening at the OBT, at the table for two by the front window. Fortunately, we had reservations, as others arriving when we did were turned away. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and Katie did a good job of serving us. I enjoyed their duck breast, and my wife had their roasted oysters. Their duck breast was one of the best overall that I have tried recently, and the accompaniments were fabulous. Usually the vegetables, etc., served with duck are almost afterthoughts, but the butternut squash puree was incredible. I wish I could have had a side dish of it. The oysters were equally excellent. I would definitely order the duck again, although the menu is filled with many other appetizing entrees. With great service and prices, an expansive menu, and cozy ambiance, this is our new favorite place in Beaufort.

Update: Took friends who just moved here to Old Bull. Reserved a seat in the bar area (booths) about 30 days in advance. We were seated in the back against a wall by the bathroom. When asked about the bar booth seating reservation, she replied they were "committed". I believe these are reserved for long time local residents. I get it. Our server was frazzled. We were rushed through dinner. He said their policy is to take the entire food order at once. Part of my party wasn't sure how hungry they would be after the appetizers but the waiter would not order the apps for the table until he had everyone's dinner order, essentially holding our hungry stomachs hostage. He became more frazzled, curt and condescending. It was uncomfortable and disappointing. I have been to very high end restaurants that require that you put your entire food order in, but after many visits to OB, I have not had this happen. The food was the same and not good enough to warrant constantly being treated like second class citizens. A go-to favorite of mine on a side street in Beaufort, reminiscent of a speakeasy. To score a seat in this quaint, cozy and eclectic restaurant is like hitting the lottery. Sit in the bar or at the bar for the best ambience. The menu offers foods from yesteryear (liver wurst, for example) along with delicious and flavorful dishes. A simple burger will make your tastebuds sing in glee. The owner makes you feel special, as does Sidney, the front manager. The bartenders are top notch professionals. The reason for only 4 stars is that the waiter we had wasn't excellent or bad, but rather indifferent, as if he couldn't care less if we were there. Looking forward to the next time, though!

Great cocktails and menus offerings for those who like to stick to a burger as well as a more adventure eater. The staff is fabulous. It's a great place to hang out if you're a regular and welcoming if you're a tourist.

We dined in the pizza room where the noise level was acceptable.

We usually have reservations but unfortunately not this time so we thought we'd wing it and try to get there early; wait in line and try for a seat at the bar. Well when we arrived evidently about a dozen or so others had the same idea. So at five when they opened the door, a chaotic situation occurred to funnel into the bar. The problem for us was the girl in front of us in line politely let every one else in who just arrived. Consequently, we lost a seat at the bar and left. It would make sense to create some type of fair organized way to treat those without reservations to benefit from arriving earlier than those getting there later and perhaps rope off an area for those without reservations. OR have an employee hand out bar tickets so others wouldn't have to wait in vane. Don't think it would be a problem for a staff person to do instead of lighting a fire outside in the fire pit on a 70 degree night.

Excellent staff. Got the “middle” smoked salmon in pasta, spinach, pine nuts. Very dry and needed some spice-red pepper flakes, herbs, and couple tablespoons of olive oil possibly.

Such a great spot for some great food and the best hospitality I've seen in a long time. Great bartenders such a southern feel!

The service was fantastic, our waiter Hector was so pleasant and personable, we sat outside the weather was perfect lighting was great the food was 10/10 I had the duck breast with garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. Chef's 😘 the Tiramisu was the best I've had and I'm not a huge fan of it but theirs was amazing. I also had "The painkiller" drink (think of a Pina colada)it was sooo good. I want to drink that every weekend lol. I was dining with friends we were visiting from Pennsylvania. I would definitely eat here again next time I'm in South Carolina ❤️

We had the Escargot, Gnocchi, pork chop and pineapple upside down cake. Everything was amazing. Sydney our server was great. Oscar the owner and his team gave us a great experience and were very hospitable. You owe it to yourself to stop in and enjoy what they have to offer. For my birthday, my best friend and I trekked our way through Beaufort, stopping at our favorite adult friendly haunts. Old Bull is still one of my favorites. Their new butter bean hummus isn't as yummy as the black eye peas hummus---but it's still really damn good. Save room for dessert and get the tiramisu and an Irish coffee with whipped cream.

Gnocchi with shrimp and the NYC pizza was excellent!! Service and atmosphere was perfect.

Rustic ambiance with delicious food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. The lamb shank was a 10! Very buzzy atmosphere as a local favorite while welcoming to out of town guests. The open pit fires permeated a nice smell, like a fantastic ski lodge after a day on the slopes.

Relaxed and casual atmosphere, with great food and service. We sat in the Middle Dining Room, which was more quiet than the front room. Reservations recommended, as this place is busy.

Lucky they had 1 outside table when we walked in @ 6:30. Didn’t realize reservations needed place was packed and rightly so. Food was terrific. Split shrimp appy, wife had steak, I had salmon amazing.

Gnocchi was OK (tomato sauce was like out of a can- acidic, no depth; shrimp was way over cooked/rubbery; gnocchi itself was wonderful). Service great at bar, ambiance great. Mid-plates nice a nice option if you’re not that hungry! Though I didn’t try anything else, other plates looked good and drink menu was abundant.

I give this place ten stars, They are amazing first we didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us, the staff was super friendly and the food was absolutely amazing especially the duck so tender and crispy I highly recommend making a reservation you will enjoy yourselves. I will definitely comeback here if I'm ever in the area again.

It's like a step back in time. It's a kind of speakeasy feel with great bartenders, drinks, and food to top it all off with. We closed it down a few times, as you just get lost in the atmosphere and conversations with servers. Highly recommend.

First off let me say this is the best food and best ran local business in Beaufort. The owner Oscar and his wife are some of the best people I have ever met and know how to treat their guests. Atmosphere and customer service is top notch. If you are new to the Beaufort area please make this place one of your first stops. 10 out of 10 experience and would give higher rating if possible!

We had a party of 5 for dinner. We ordered 2 cocktails; one was very good one was just ok. 2 diners had pizza which they liked alot. 2 pasta dishes were reported to be good, but I thought the gnocchi was far too heavy. The tagliatelle with meat sauce was good. I has the shrimp with sherry which was excellent! We all shared a Tiramusu which was also excellent. The atmosphere was pretty neat but it was a bit dark for me. Service started out slow, but once she got there, it was good from there on Although it is a "tavern", it has higher end dishes...not a chicken wing in the place!!! Price point is consistent with the area and the food served. There is a parking lot, but it was not 100% clear if you were able to park there. We found street parking just to be safe. The menu reporetdly changes monthly.

We ate dinner at the bar. Both of us ordered their burger which was very very good. Excellent bar tended who makes very good drinks as well. We will definitely return while in Beaufort.
