The food is not bad, but it is definitely lacking in flavor and quantity. It is very overpriced for the portions that you get. We found the rice to be very plain though the meat was cooked well. What would stop me from ordering here again is the price.

The shish kebab and tawook were excellent, very juicy and flavorful, and there were a lot of great dessert options (the pistachio cheesecake rocked)

This food is so amazing I can’t even describe it. I usually don’t pile Tabuleh but theirs is out of this world. Labnah, Kibbeh, meat skewers, falafel. We ate here two nights in a row and we don’t even live in Cranford. 💓💓💓💓💓

Love this place!!! Every thing on the menu is great. Tonight we got the fatteh and asked to have the chips on the side which worked out better than when they add them. The lentil soup was delicious yet a little bit watered down. Next time hopefully it’ll be thicker. Overall this is a fantastic and favorite spot for us!!!

We got foul (very good), baba ghanouj (world class), falafel (world class) and shawarma (very good). The food was really delightful, the server was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy- great for a nice meal with a friend and a favorite for date night. And now they sell wine!

Decent food! Not worth price though… No refills on soda after paying $18 plus 20% for dip sampler which is barely enough for one person.. We probably won’t visit ever again. We love all the Resturants in Cranford. Unfortunately this owner doesn’t realize price point and probably loosing customer for thinking small…

We’ve taken food out a few times from here but sat for dinner with a group of friends for the first time tonight. The food is always on point! There’s a great menu full of many options. We always come for their shish kebob. Our friends never been here before really enjoyed all the dishes and appetizers as well. The owner Raffy is a doll. He introduced himself to our group, and was very friendly and made great conversation. Highly recommend Old City Café!

Great food. It’s consistent and delicious. The staff are so kind. The cappuccino is to die for! I’ve been here twice and will make this a regular spot.

The cuisine is so delicious and always fresh. The service is impeccable, and the owner went above and beyond by engaging with my 5-year-old son to keep him entertained.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but it seems like the quality of the food has gone down. My last two visits were disappointing. Nothing was really hot but rather warm. The falafel felt like it hadn't been made to order but was made ahead of time and kept warm. Same with the shawarma wrap. Not willing to give it a third chance.

Ordered takeout through their website, they waited in the car instead of dropping off the food. Food was mediocre at best. Chicken was too spicy to eat, salad was glorified mush, and the cheese arreyes barely had any cheese. Saddened and disappointed.

One of the most authentic, delicious restaurants in Union County! Nothing disappoints…service is wonderful and food is always excellent! It’s a bring your own, but they even sell reasonably priced bottles just in case! A must try!

One of the sleaziest tricks that bigoted restaurant owners love to do is to put a bunch of fake reserved signs on their tables, so he can control who eats there and where they will sit, if they do. One couple walks in without a reservation and is told the place is booked (though the restaurant is mostly empty) but they're offered a small table in the middle, in front of the door. 5 minutes later, a 2nd couple walks in without a reservation (not sure who'd ever think to make one at a place like this) and is seated right away at a much better "reserved" table on the side. The treatment of the 2 couples is night and day different the whole time they're there til it's time to go and the preferred couple gets big cardboard takeout boxes for their leftovers and the other 2, though they have more to take, get 2 flimsy small plastic containers. We were there for around 75 minutes and never saw any one walk in with a reservation Actually, I don't think any one else went in there at all. I've eaten at Old City maybe 10 times. This is how the place is always run if the owner is there and it seems pretty clear to me the sort of people he favors and those he doesn't. The food is good but I'm done supporting a restaurant with 2 tiers of service and such bad vibes.

Absolutely fabulous food and atmosphere. Great choices on menu fresh ingredients love the cold appetizers salads and main dishes. Everything we had was great including coffee and dessert. Highly recommend a visit to Lebanese food which is genuine in a friendly environment. Dogan is great patient and makes great recommendations.

Living in New Jersey for 16 years now and I just found out about this amazing Lebanese restaurant just 30 minutes away. As soon as we come in, we are greeted by the owner and he sat down and made us feel as if we were best friends. My family not ever having a middle eastern dish was not expecting anything crazy, but we were completely caught off guard. My table order the Old City mix and the food came out relatively quickly. The food inside of the mix shall be called nothing but exquisite. Genuinely, the place was excellent and I would totally come back here anytime I’m able to. 10/10

Very disappointing. The spinach pies were way too sour. Kafta kabob was SO dry, tough and had no flavor. Shawarma was also dry. Falafel was mediocre. The food honestly tasted like it sat out all day. I understand the food is Lebanese but the oregano was overwhelming in ever dish we tried. Also the place is tiny so the servers just stand behind the counter and watch over everyone, made for an awkward meal.

This is not our first time at Old City Cafe, and we keep coming back! The food is authentic and delicious. The servers are very friendly and will answer any question you might have regarding their menu. The food came out quickly and as always delicious! We will be back!!

Best lamb chops I’ve ever eaten anywhere. Get the garlic butter thingy. Stuffed Grape leaves are hot and delicious. The Chefs special desert is the most creamiest and delicious flan you will ever have. This is our favorite spot for real Mediterranean food. Service is awesome. BYOB

Great place to go with large groups and sharing family style! Highly recommend trying the spicy special sauce for their sandwiches. They also have a lot of interesting dishes that I haven’t seen before in other middle eastern restaurants like Zaatar Pies and mouhammara dip which were delicious. In addition, my mom and thinks their waiter is hot.

Came here with a group of six and had an outstanding experience - service was very attentive and accommodating - all the food was fresh, delicious, and authentic - my dad has lived in the middle east and he said it was very authentic - we ordered shish kabob, kofta kebab, spicy chicken shawarma sandwich and tons of appetizers - tabboleh, labne, kibbe, and dips - desserts spectacular and unique - the best Turkish coffee Will be back again!

I only got take out for my first time here, but I’ll definitely be back to dine in! The place is open but cozy and with beautiful decor, comfy chairs, and the lady who took my order was very nice. Everything was delicious! I only got a falafel app and a soup and it was a super filling lunch for a good price. Definitely going back.
