This was a great place! I think for the price of the food, it could have been a little better. The vegetables seemed like they were from a frozen bag and reheated. But the Gyro and hummus were delicious! Our server was very kind, and went above and beyond for us!

I've driven by the restaurant 100 times but never eaten there. Bug mistakes. This place is awesome! The bread is amazing the food is outstanding and the bakclava is to die for. Definitely going on my favorite places list.

Our waiter Matthew was phenomenal. He is a professional through and through no complaints from me there. But the food was absolutely bland and subpar, especially for the price. It was like IKEA and JetBlue joined forces and opened up a restaurant.

Had the classic beef and lamb gyro and it was way better than any I've had in a while! I was very impressed with the genuine, friendly service and the freshness of the Cucumber and tomato salad.

Always love every dish i get here and they make a mean Gin & Tonic. The portions have gotten smaller over the years but that is happening everywhere and maybe we were glutinous before as I still walk out with left overs.

I’m really surprised this place has 4.3 stars rn. I’ve been eating Mediterranean style food my entire life and this is by far the worst gyro I’ve had. It was without a doubt microwaved. The gyro meat was dry and overcooked and the pita was crusty. A disgrace to the food from that region.

Gordon Ramsey, please come here and save this nightmare kitchen. This restaurant is a perfect candidate for your show. I feel sick to my stomach after eating a microwaved gyro from here. It was the worst one l've ever had.

My son recommended this place for his graduation dinner, neither of us have ever been here so we ended up taking the whole family and boy were we pleasantly surprised! When you walk in. It seems like it's a bar but the food was absolutely amazing. We had the mahi-mahi special, the grouper special and some beef special while they also have meals that the kids enjoyed like burgers etc. Our server was Matt (I think) and he was the only server so he was all over the place but made it work. This is a for sure return to place. If you're lucky, you'll get to meet Ricky the friendliest character in the place!

This is such a hidden treasure! The food is beyond delicious and has a lot of variety. The owner and staff are so friendly and make you feel part of their family.

Finally tried this hidden jem, and it did not disappoint. Traditional, solid Greek offerings served in an unpretentious atmosphere. Excellent service. Full bar. Will be back.

This place is a definite gem! Such a lovely restaurant with a wonderful wait staff! Me and my guest ordered the flounder athenian, gyro pita, and a tiramisu to split. All three were perfect and delicious. Great prices too!

The atmosphere is very dated but comfortable. The service was average, as well as the food.

The Greek menu and atmosphere seem authentic. This is a nice upscale venue. The sides were a bit small though.

Is it really good food? YES Is it authentic Greek food? No. Not even close. A test I always use is; “Would I eat there again?” Yes, I would. However, I am Greek. My grandparents were from Greece and my mom cooked Greek dishes. So, this restaurant is really good but not having the flavors of authentic Greek cuisine. As a reference, there were three of us and we ate: spanakopita, dolmades, avgolemono, Chicken Athenian, tiropita, gyro.

Olympia is an authentic Greek restaurant and our waitress, Brooke was excellent!

Restaurant was understaffed spent almost 2 hours there most of it was just waiting. The dish I ordered was a shrimp dish with tomato and onion but was awfully sugar sweet. Waiter was very nice and accommodating as much as he could but being so short staffed and attention being pulled in every direction led for a very mediocre experience

Love this restaurant. Lovely and friendly service and ambience. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Olympia is Greek food from a Greek family. Doesn't get much better than that. Wilmington has limited options for Greek food. Standard takeout Greek and then dining Greek. You will pay a lot at all other Greek dining options which ups the atmosphere but their food isn't going to beat Olympia. While the menu does have non-Greek options they aren't the stars of the menu. Service is spectacular, apps, seafood, and vegetarian dishes shine.

My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant! It has become our Friday night go to. We have tried pretty much everything from the menu and from the specials. We have never been disappointed. Our favorite dishes are the oyster appetizer, shrimp Santorini, and any of their lamb choices. We also feel like the meals are a very good value for the money. Since we would like to eat there even more often than just once a week, it would be great if they would change the specials a bit.

Classic Greek. Place has been here for some time and it shows but don't let that stop you. Cozy bar and comfortable tables. Food is what you want it to be, very good. Wide selection, great quality. We'll be back!

Ordered a beef and lamb gyro hoping it would be cut from those big rotating meat spindles. It was precooked/ prepackaged strips that were like eating the sole of my shoe. Maybe other items are more authentic but that was a joke. Arby’s has better gyros and that’s pathetic

We wanted Greek food, so the four of us went to Olympia. We all ordered moussaka. After our order the waitress returned and said that they were out of moussaka. It was only 6:00PM. She said they make it every other day and were out of it. We all picked alternative orders. My wife ordered a chicken dish, and the potion looked small. She stated it wastn't very good. She wound up have GI distress later that night and the following morning. Another member of our party returned the potatoes on her dish, as they didn't taste right. I wonder if they don't have a chef daily and rely on dishes prepared in advance. I would not go back

Food and service was excellent.

Good atmosphere and service. The place looks a bit outdated. The angel hair past with shrimp was good. However, the porkchops were a bit dry.

The Moussaka was okay, just okay. I had plenty of leftovers to take home. The Chicken Souvlaki Pita was also just okay. Our server was excellent.

Read a review about the shrimp, feta pasta dish so i ordered it. The pasta was plentiful but dry.. no juicy saucyness going on. There were plenty of shrimp, 4 tiny crumbs of feta (i'm not kidding) and a few tomato dices laying on top, that was it. The most un happy pasta dish I every had. The waitress was very kind and gave great service. No complaints there. Others at my table did enjoy their meals, so I guess it was just not a pasta night for the chef!

All I can say is ehhhhhh. Not good, not bad, just ehhhhh. The interior is a major make up or ceiling fans were outdated and dirty. The decor was old and outdated and dirty.

My 5 stars is because they have the BEST GREEK salad with chicken for the price around! If you can get past the dated decor EAT here! Best pita in town too! Super friendly people who work here AND have been here for years! That says something. Lunch is a fav! Half price bottles of wine on wed ! Trust me I’m a food snob and I eat here once a week. If the updated this place they would have less competition!!!

The food at Olympia Restaurant was delicious 🤤 On August 5, 2023, my family (party of about 12) people dined at Olympia Restaurant and the food, atmosphere and the server was absolutely wonderful and awesome. All of our food came out fresh and hot. The food was seasoned so well and portions was GREAT 😊. Everyone in our party was past pleased with everything. Needless to say when I return to Wilmington, NC I will be returning for some more really good food. The waitress was awesome and took the time to explain everything and she kept all attendees in the party quite satisfied.

4th time coming here!!! Food was AWESOME. especially the fried Zucchini,Crabcakes!!

My overall rating is based on the food and service. The food is really good. It is not plated as fancy as some restaurants and the restaurant needs a remodel or at least a really good cleaning BUT don’t take that the wrong way. It is perfectly fine to eat there and the food and service is great. Everything I have tried is excellent and reminds me of Greek home cooking. The latest dishes I have had are the stuffed flounder and mediterranean Salmon. The sides were roasted potatoes and mixed veggies. Both were rustic and very tasty.

I always order the shrimp greek pasta. It is to die for. Service always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal food! I couldn't help but write about how great their food is. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and my boyfriend had a parmesan chicken. Both dishes were incredibly delicious and their chocolate mousse is to die for! Service was pretty awesome too! I highly recommend this place.

The flaming cheese was awesome. Can't wait to go back and try more foods.

Lunch menu was not very Greek. I had the Greek salad with gyro meat. Meat was seasoned but the salad was heavy on the balsamic dressing. My wife had the leg of lamb on pita with mixed vegetables and the lamb was very tough.

Came during the day in the afternoon. The servers were great and friendly. That’s where the good ends. We ordered a gyros and some other appetizers. You are better off buying these products, frozen and making it at your house. It was barely edible. if you have been to Greece or have eaten any kind of good Greek food outside of Wilmington, This is not the place for you. But if t he only thing you’ve seen of Greece is in the movie Troy, come on by and you’ll love it.

I've only had takeout from Olympia so I can't review the interior, but the FOOD! Seriously good Greek/Mediterranean food! Everything is made fresh and in-house with quality ingredients. I can recommend the Greek pizza, get it with gyro meat, and the dolmadakia are excellent as well as the spanakopita. The prep is fast and overall it's a great value, I'm looking forward to trying the entire menu 😁

Very disappointed after seeing so many great reviews. The app of Saganaki was not melted and hard. The gyro was thin and overcooked and little to no meat.

Always love eating at Olympia! Never disappoints! Delicious food, friendly and efficient staff and their house made Greek dressing! I highly recommend taking home a jar if you like homemade Greek dressing!❣️

Food is always delicious and fresh. Our waitress was also bartender and made a killer gin and tonic! The appetizer portions weren't huge but loved the warmed pita bread.

Food isn't bad, not great, good. But it's basically American food with pitas and some lamb.

So good! Great atmosphere, wonderful chef, friendly family owned place. Great for kids too. Delicious food, good wine list, delicious desserts! Good people - love this place! The lemon chicken soup and the crab stuffed sea bass were delicious.

Outstanding Meal! Outstanding Service!

For being my first time there, and all of the good things I've heard, I was a little disappointed. 4 of our 5 meals came out kind of cold. I had higher hopes for the vegetable medley which was bland. The potatoes were Awesome and so was the New England Clam chowder. The stuffed grape leaves appetizer was pretty good too. Next time I will try something from the standard menu and not the daily special (crab stuffed sea bass)

Wonderful Greek food is found here! They serve wonderful seafood dishes. I personally enjoy the gyro sandwich plate and the greek pizzas.

This is an all-time favorite for the area. When you're craving a gyro or baklava or just a crisp delicious salad with a light homemade salad dressing, this is the place. They're open lunches and dinner,During the week, both are fantastic and they have a full bar with a great staff.

The food was pretty good here, especially the appetizer of Saganaki. The cheeses in that were so good. The Mediterranean seafood salad with angel hair pasta, and if you have cheese leftover from the saganaki, taste great together. I had to put a ton of parmesan cheese on the pasta to give it more taste though. The Greek potatoes were okay but kind of greasy and bland with one of the seasonings leaving an aftertaste in my mouth. Honestly, for how much you pay here, unless you get the pasta dishes it seems you don't get alot per serving. You get diet sized portions of some things. The mixed drinks from the bar are awesome! Overall, compared to Pita Plate in Morehead City this Mediterranean restaurant is lacking. Olympia's menu carries alot of things that to me seem more like American flair whereas Pita Plate at least offered more options that are specifically Greek/Mediterranean, unique and authentic. Marrakesh in Jacksonville, NC also can't beat Pita Plate with their menu of Mediterranean flavors. I was disappointed the Galactaboureko was not made the night I went to Olympia as I would have loved to try some. That was something more unique and authentic that Pita Plate and Marrakesh don't even make. The Baklava at Olympia was good with the first piece . A second piece was mistakenly sent to my table for my guest and that person didn't want it so they gave it to me. That piece was very hard on the bottom and hard to break through, not at all like the first piece. Overall, I say Olympia is decent, a little pricey, depending on what you get you may spend near $50 and still leave feeling hungry. Make a Google reservation for Friday and weekend dining here. During weekends or holiday seasons you may struggle to find a seat in the restaurant or find parking outside here.

Olympia is an unpretentious diner in a strip mall. However, it is tastefully decorated and clean. Our server cheerfully and courteously discharged her responsibilities. The food was tasty, arrived quickly and hot, and in portions that were excessively large. We ate there on a Saturday night in a half-full dining room, which surprised me somewhat. Given the overall quality of the experience and the location, I would have expected a wait.

Always terrific. Excellent portions and every entrée is delicious. A true Wilmington staple. The staff is the friendliest.

Don't order take out, they continuously leave out pita and sides but charge you. Tired of checking while there, they just don't care.

We have been eating here for years and the food is always very good. Paper napkins but what ever someone orders they say it is very good. My Son goes there and says the same thing. My go to place for a good moderate price meal. They know how to cook fish.

I have eaten here for years, mostly take out but occasionally inside, and have never been disappointed! This evening however, was not good. The chicken in the pita was rubbery - tasted like the cheap chicken breasts from Harris Teeter that no one should be eating :( and the oil needs to be changed for frying- the French fries weren't good because of that. As far as atmosphere, the front windows need to be cleaned- very dirty. Because I have had great meals in the past I will try again but definitely disappointed enough to write this review.

The menu has changed. Asked for a pita platter. Got 6 sliced of lamb and french fries. Not worth the price.

I have been here several times in the last few months - the food and service is great. The hamburgers are huge and the french fries are the perfect mix of crispy with hot soft insides.

A friend and I went there this evening for dinner. I chose one of the specials, shrimp and scallops cooked with caramelized onions and feta. Sides were roasted potatoes, and Cucumber & Tomato salad. Buddy had shrimp and tomatoes over Angel hair pasta. Both had Greek salads. The meals were fantastic. And, our server was good as well.

Pretty tasty gyro. Close to me so I go occasionally. One massive fail, the "greek" potatoes. They boil them. That's it. No salt. No seasoning. Not browned. 3rd time in a row. They do have some oil on them. For lack of a better term. I just plan to throw my sandwich in the oven wrapped in foil while I finish the potatoes. The lack of seasoning is just lazy. Haven't tried anything else. Dining room is a time machine to 1983.

9/8/22 went there with party of six. Very pleasantly surprised about the food.The saganaki was the best ever! Horiatiki salad also great. Rack of lamb was excellent. - Our friend, who is a picky and light eater completely devoured her moussaka. - We will be back.

If you are in the mood for delicious greek food, Olympia will not disappoint. Gyro sandwich, greek salad, and greek shrimp pasta are all winners.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to eating out because I like to cook at home. If I go back I'll try the spinach pie as the gyro was pretty good. The wait staff was friendly and attentive.

The friend I was visiting in Wilmington had spoken of having Sunday lunch here for years, so I was anxious to try it. They don't currently serve lunch, but we went for dinner on a Friday. It was around 6 p.m. and we were lucky to be seated without a reservation before it got too crowded. It's not a fancy fine dining place, but reminds me of many family owned ethnic restaurants that cater to locals. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We shared a saganaki appetizer which had tomatoes in it. I've had it many places, including Greece, but never with tomatoes. It was served with warm pita points and was delicious. We each selected one of the specials and were very pleased with our choice of Scallops and Shrimp Mykonos. The sauce in the casserole was plentiful enough that we dipped the accompanying Greek potatoes and mixed vegetables in it. We decided to split the tiramisu for dessert and it was the perfect ending to a great meal. Our server was cordial and efficient. When I was trying to decide between the two Greek white wines offered by the glass, she brought samples of both and offered her recommendation on which would be best with my entree. I'm very happy I got to try this local establishment!

I can't say enough good things about how delicious the food is at Olympia Restaurant. The Salmon Mediterranean was outstanding. The baklava made fresh that morning was not overly sweet; just right for me. Of course their Greek salad and bread are always great.

Tried lunch as a first experience. The sea bass was a very small portion(my guess maybe 3oz) and was essentially tasteless. If one checks the entre photos on the website a complete fish was shown. Was the lunch portion smaller by design?? If so, then that should be explained. but for $16.95 one should expect a larger portion. Had to stop on our way home to supplement our meal. Will not be back.

Servers took over 10 minutes to greet us and the place was empty. Once the server came she was nice but it was hard to get refills and the food took a long time. The food was ok but nothing exciting. I wanted to eat here for years.

Authentic homemade Greek delights. Spinach pie was fresh and light. Fresh flounder stuffed with spinach and feta was super flavorful, accompanied by a large Greek salad. Everything was homemade and fresh. Warm baklava a must dessert. And our server, Luca, knew the menu, made great recommendations, and was so attentive. Can’t wait to return.

The two of us stopped in for the first time and ordered two Greek salads , one topped with grilled chicken and an order of calamari. The portions were very small. We paid over $40. for this and left hungry. We will not be back.

Had some great food and great music. Y'all have to come out on the first Thursday of the month to listen to the Duo they have. Everyone e dancing and singing from 7 to 9. Fabulous time.

Avgolemono followed by spinach and feta stuffed chicken with mixed vegetables and roasted potatoes. My date had the Salmon. This is the real deal Greek! So delicious...couldn't wait to eat the leftovers! At least as good leftover, maybe even better!

I couldn’t ask for a better Saturday night dinner, food was just amazing, staff like no other especially Lucas our server. This guy made my dinner experience a wonderful one. Had a delicious dinner here on 09/29/21 with my sister and brother-in-law. The Greek Pizza was awesome. Will definitely come back here when I visit Wilmington again.

We had a wonderful lunch. Sandwich (gyro) was excellent and I will order again. My lovely bride had pasta with shrimp and a light red sauce that was also delicious. Service was spot on. The facility itself could use a bit of a refresh hence 4 instead of 5 stars.

The food was great. Front end staff was fantastic and very friendly, kitchen was understaffed and backed up, so it took a long time to get food. We went for dinner, but they have a good menu for lunch too.
