Outstanding in every way! We stopped to pick up some food to-go, and we hit the right spot! Both wraps were filled with fresh veggies that were crisp and flavorful, and the chicken was tasty (we ordered Chicken Caesar and a Veggie with added chicken). The dressings were bright in flavor and the staff added just the right amount so it added to the overall taste of the wraps. The person that I worked with treated me like I was a regular, and made my experience worth coming back for. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Everything about this experience was top-notch! If you are traveling I-5 by Chehalis and are hungry, this is the best food that I have found in the area, and it is very close to the freeway. I will definitely return soon.

I ordered soup and salad To-Go. Nice folks but cramped. The food came quickly but stupidly small portions (admittedly I am a hungry guy, I could have eaten 8 times as much and no, I'm not exaggerating. I can prove it.) and laughably lousy taste. Sorry guys but I won't be coming back to give you 18 bucks (after tax and tip) for a bummer snack any time soon.

Ordered the Reuben, cause I love Reubens, they pannini pressed it and basically burnt the toast. All I could taste was burnt toast and thousand island. No flavor from the corned beef, cheese, or sauerkraut. I'm done with DDD restaurants, I have tried quite a few and most have been disappointing.

I was driving down from Seattle and stopped by since it was right off the I5 . The food was absolutely incredible, I had quiche and a summer salad with beets and local fresh berries. Highly recommend

Just stayed there for the first time today. I’m from out of town had the turkey and artichoke sandwich and there’s soup of the day some kind of curry peanut soup that was fabulous. The sandwich was awesome super awesome people are awesome. Definitely give it a try.

Consider me completely charmed by this delightful cafe! It was truly a perfect experience from the friendly staff, coldbrew with cream to the portobello sandwich!

Fresh and delicious. I loved it was a woman owned and women run business. I was surprised knowing the history of the area and its intolerance to LGBTQ.people. Chehalis-get a clue . Joy has the right idea.

2024 update. The chicken curry sandwich and cold brew was excellent! Thanks. Old review; The broccoli crunch was so thick with mayo it reminded me of broccoli soup. Chicken sandwich was just average. The two items were $17. Doubt I visit here again unless it's for a dessert which looked better

I am am a repeat customer. Always delicious, well prepared meals. We shared a Meatloaf panini and I had carrot coconut curry soup

While we very much enjoy the excellent food here, it is our favorite place to go because of the staff. We are super seniors, and they do everything they can to make us feel noticed and appreciated. You will feel better when you leave than when you came... Promise!

Great tasting, but watch ordering the half sandwich combo. May get charged full price for items

What a fun spot for lunch! We were on our way to visit Olympic Natl Park and decided to stop here for lunch. I had the turkey paying, one daughter had the quiche, and second daughter had soup and salad. All 3 of our entrees were very good. Ser ice was great as well.

Stopped for lunch on our ride from Portland to Seattle. A wonderful experience! So friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our sandwiches and paninis were delicious.

Great food and great service. You order and pay and tip before you seat yourself. The cubano was delicious. We will definitely be back. Lots of choices on their menu. Something for everyone. Vegan choices too.

Love this spot! I've been here more times than I can count, and I have only had the warm turkey artichoke sandwich. I can't describe just how delicious it is. They offer a good variety of drink options along with a self-serve ice water station. Also, I love the decor and how clean they keep it!

5 stars from a 17 year vegan! This is one of the very few restaurants I've been to that understands how to cater to vegans. Flavors are well balanced, with specialized ingredients for vegan options, rather than just leaving several components out as is typical at most omni restaurants. Staff was incredibly friendly and was patient with me, helping me find options for my kids, as well. Too bad we don't live in the area or else I'd be a customer for life!

THE most delicious carrot cake EVER!

Shout out to the garden salad with the basil dressing -- a simple dish elevated with fresh ingredients and a wonderful house made dressing. The carrot cake is great as well!

AMAZING food!! You know when a meal is *really* special… like it’s made with love? This place has double helpings of love in the food - and it’s the same every time I’m here. The desserts are phenomenal. My wife loves the chocolate raspberry tart, and the carrot cake here is the best I’ve ever had. Joy, the owner and head chef often checks to make sure you are enjoying your lunch - when she’s not in the back grilling smoked chicken on the Trager for her curry chicken salad (also amazing as a salad or wrap)! You will thoroughly enjoy anything you order here - it’s that good! 🥰

Everything we ate was excellent! Tried the BBQ Brisket sandwich, meatloaf panini, French Dip & the Lasagne. Service was outstanding. We will definitely be stopping here again whenever we come to the area. Thank you for a great meal.

Great place, good atmosphere, Good selection of hot and cold food and beverages. It was fairly busy at lunch but not packed. To order food you have to order at the counter but they serve it at your table.

Visit on Jan 3, 2024 After spending family time in Great Wolf Lodge, we had lunch in Once Upon A Thyme. Great ambience, warm services, had a chat with Joy, the owner of this amazing place. Lots of patrons queueing to order. Love their sandwiches, tried the caesar wrap, caesar salad (so fresh!) the prime rib soup, strawberry banana smoothies, all are delicious!

This place is one of my favorite places to go, they have amazing food. Their customer service is amazing, and the store is always clean. The also have other things they sell to the right when you walk in.

While I've lived in Lewis County for the last 8 years I didn't hear about this place until a bit ago and now I'm sure I'll be coming by every once in a while. I brought my sister here for an impromptu lunch and we were both extremely satisfied. The cafe is cute and rustic and just has so much charm, the plants outside give it a homey feel, we really enjoyed eating outside, the day we went was perfect for it. My panini was absolutely delicious, and I left wishing I had more, despite being full. It's been a while since I've cleared my plate simply because the food was too good. No left overs this time. My sister got the Chicken Bacon Ranch Spinach wrap and I stole a bite, it was so good! And she enjoyed it thoroughly. I'll definitely order it for myself next time, bring my friends here. Staff was incredibly lovely, and lively. I didn't catch the name of the lovely lady who took our order and such, but she was an absolute delight! Good food, good times!

Absolutely fabulous. We all enjoyed what we ordered. They have a lot of food allergy sensitive options. I would absolutely go back! The chocolate raspberry tart was divine. The Turkey artichoke panini with GF bread was yummy!

Went w/DIL for a late lunch. So many options! Clerk was so friendly and suggested many different options, that were favorites...loved that! I had the Apple sausage quiche, came with salad and fruit. Wonderful! Jen had a Turkey, artichoke and cheese Panini. We loved the Prim Farmhouse decor, just like home! A lovely lunch..😉

BEWARE IF YOU EAT GLUTEN FREE OR HAVE CELIAC DISEASE! This last Wednesday I ordered the special which was a chicken pesto sandwich and I asked for gluten free bread. When I got my sandwich I wondered if it was really gluten free because of the look but my partner looked at the receipt and assured me they charged us for having gluten free bread, so I ate it. I was REALLY sick the rest of the day. I won't go into details but I knew I was having a reaction to the gluten. So not only was the order dangerously wrong but we were overcharged for what we got. I called the next day to let the owner know that the workers should be more aware and careful, I left my name and number for whoever answered the call and I haven't heard back, it's been a couple of days now so here I am leaving a review instead. I will say, the food really is delicious here and the atmosphere is really nice but if you have an allergy, I would think twice before coming here. I unfortunately will not be back.

Great Vegan options and a great atmosphere!

My mother and sister enjoy coming here and let me tell you I was not disappointed. The last time we ate here I had the turkey and berry I think it was…. I remember that the combination of the savoury and sweet mixed very well. I’ll be back in my next visit!

This restaurant is fabulous on many levels! An experience in wonderful, healthy homemade food, friendly, welcoming owner (Joy) and staff, a lovely atmosphere complete with a small, quality gift shop. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious choices, including Vegetarian offerings. The prices are extremely reasonable and the food is high quality. Every local knows this is THE top notch eatery in Chehalis, and out of towners frequent Once Upon a Thyme as well. It is very family friendly and immaculately clean. Its great reputation is widely known. We had the quiche of the day and salad, which was fantastic. This restaurant was featured by Guy Fieri on his Food Network show. A signed picture of Guy hangs inside the restaurant. . A treasured accolade for any restauranteur and very well deserved in the case of Once Upon a Thyme! You will never regret a visit to this fine eatery! Looking forward to my next visit!

We were looking for a dog friendly place to eat. We managed to find this enchanting restaurant. The service was friendly, and the food was amazing. Each person in our party walked away happy, satified, and full. I give this place my top rating.

One of my favorite places for lunch.

Learned about this place when triple D visited a couple of years ago. We were in the area recently and thought to check it out. The aroma when we walked in made me think " I would eat whatever ever that is ". It is not a huge room, but sunny, clean and open feeling. The menu offered a nice variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and a couple of specials of the day. ( the lasagna was spectacular with crispy edges & great flavor ). Server was friendly and quick. Bathroom was cute and clean -- big deal to retired nurses. All of us enjoyed our meals but unfortunately were too full to try any of the dessert options. Will cheerfully return when I am again in the area.

I'm not one to make reviews, but I just had to with this place. I 100% recommend you come here! All the flavors blend so well, and this is coming from someone who can get a bit iffy with some ingredients. Don't be wary with the menu because I can promise you, you will enjoy whatever you get. I can give you a little tip though. Try getting here earlier because there will be less people. At least that is what I see. I have only been twice, but I know I'll be coming many more times in the future! Thank you for the lovely meal! Have a blessed day! <3

An absolutely enchanting spot with delicious food. I got the turkey artichoke panini off a recommendation from the cashier and didn't even realize it was their "staple" until later in the day, and I can see why! It was perfectly crispy and out of this world. The gift shop inside leaves a bit to be desired- I don't like that they sell MLM products (Do Terra oils) but no one's forcing you to buy it; it just feels a little misleading. I loved that water was readily available for whoever wanted a glass.

I have been at this establishment several times and have thoroughly enjoyed each time I've been there most of the time I sit in and dine and the atmosphere reminds me of being at Grandma's it's like being at home. Welcome! Enjoy!. With the rising food costs to keep natural foods on the menu is a task in itself and I think she's managed wonderfully to be able to have have continued to maintain her prices. Thank you for being there cuz I absolutely enjoy your restaurant.

Fantastic! They were busy but our big party was well served!

The food was good, however the price for what you get is not. I asked for the half sandwich with soup, salad or special salad and asked for soup. The lady asked what dressing I wanted for the salad so I assumed it came with both the soup and salad at that point. I ended up getting a small half sandwich and a small basic salad. It cost almost $14. Not worth it in my opinion no matter how good it is.

What a great little restaurant! The menu is not too broad and what they serve tastes fresh and delicious. Some may feel it's pricey but I'd argue it's definitely worth it.

Excellent food, despite the long line it went fairly quick. Food was out fast too despite it being busy. Employees were all very nice. Decent portions. I got the turkey artichoke panini. Im not a huge artichoke fan but tried it anyways, and so glad i did! It is definitely one of our new favorites!

Great food, great service, great atmosphere.

As a big guy with a grown man appetite, part of the problem I had with this place was my fault. That problem being that the 12.98 Brisket sandwich and handful of potato chips just really wasn't much of a meal. With a cutesie wootsie name like "Once Upon a Thyme" I should have known better than to even stop in. And once inside the atmosphere should have been enough to make me reconsider. So far, it's all my fault right? Agreed. But then there's the stupid payment system that all these places tend to have that force you to tip before you've even seen your food. And that's probably my biggest gripe. The sandwich was pretty good. The small handful of chips (only side that came with the sandwich) were crisp. The can of 7Up was fine. But at the end I was still hungry, so I bought a $3 cookie. When I bought the cookie I felt like the cashier/waitress was suggesting through the way she gave me my change back, that I would tip for the cookie. Neither one of us spoke about it - but it did seem that way. Overall this place is probably not meant for guys like me, but it does seem like the kind of place middle aged women would really enjoy, especially in a little town like Chehalis.

A favorite; never disappointed!

Had the tri tip and potato soup for lunch. The soup tasted like someone's mama or grandma made it. Sooooo good. The salad was so fresh and tasty. Just perfect.b😋

Heard about this through a friend so glad we went and had lunch it will be my go to lunch stop when i go to town its about an hour drive have remember to get their early they cose at 3pm can't wait to try the meatloaf sandwich and all the other sandwich's. Cowboy Dave

I've been coming to Joy's Thyme for Lunch pretty much since it opened some 10+ years and it's still the best place to have lunch in town. They're quality of food has never diminished and the service is always friendly and efficient. My only complaint is I wish they we're opened on weekends, LOL! so we could have good food when we're in town shopping.. but of course I know why they don't and totally understand.. Joy works so hard and I'm grateful we still have her wonderful restaurant in our little town.. , my favorite thing to eat is the Curry Chicken Salad on the mixed greens with the Creamy basil dressing. But everything is excellent..

After 5 Years of Living in Chehalis I finally stepped into this restaurant before I saw it on a food show it was over the top met the owner the staff is great owners super cool and the food is very very good highly recommend the meatloaf sandwich but all of their food is great I can't say enough about this place it is just fantastic

Love this place! My 5 year old granddaughter calls it “The fairytale place” Salads, soups, sandwiches, wraps Everything is fresh and delicious Tasty treat from scratch for dessert This is a MUST try, and then add to list of favorites If you like curry the curry chicken salad is my go to ❤️

Bustling lunch venue with delicious food. It is very noisy during the peak lunch time. So trying to carry on a conversation with more than one person is nearly impossible.
