Ordered the Shepherd's Pie. Sheep Herder's Pie. Sheep and Pie being the operative words in this dish. What they brought out was a beef stew with dollops of mashed potatoes on top. It was not a Pie, nor was it Sheep (aka lamb). The menu explicitly says it contains lamb, but the meat was clearly beef. It had the flavor of beef and broke apart like stew beef. Beyond the completely incorrect meat, I'm very tired of restaurants changing what dishes are. A Shepherd's Pie is a specific dish. It is not a stew. It is a meat pie. Don't call it a Shepherd's Pie if it is not.

There were 3 of us. We had the egg roll appetizer, great. Two of us each had the Rueben potato cake sandwich but had rye bread and put potato cakes as a side with applesauce. Fantastic. The other had tomato soup and grill cheese, and it was good. We had 3 desserts. Least to favorite, Bailey Irish cream cheesecake, peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream, and the decadent brownie. We love it all. We all took half our lunch home to have room for desserts. Can't wait to go again.

This is a go to hangout spot for me and all my friends. They have great service, a wide variety of menu options, and tasty cocktails.

Love love love! In town visiting and needed a pet friendly place. The patio was beautiful, our server (Sean?) was incredible and the manager went around and checked in with everyone and pet every dog he could. The food was delicious and hot. They didn’t have blue moon on tap, the waitor offered a substitute that was perfect replacement for it. I wish I had taken the time to take photos of our food, but our empty plates are a testimony to the food!

Went in to have a Guinness and they didn’t have any! As an Irish bar how do you not have any Guinness? Went to Two Fools tavern instead…they had it there!!!

First time visiting for a lunch break, but because our server seemed to be very busy (not sure if this was because they were short staffed or what because it wasn't particularly busy) we ended up having to place our orders to-go due to time constraints. I got the bangers and mashed, which is a dish I've never had before. It was ok, but I probably won't order it again.

Great consistent product that you can count on! In my opinion, this is almost a forgotten "gem" of Albuquerque. The place is fantastic! The cute attachments at the patio tables to hook your dog leash on are awesome!

Hours/Days of Operation are reliable. It's open everyday. Food is consistent. Staff is usually attentive and efficient.

The food was fine but I got a 7K IPA from Santa Fe Brewing and it was not right. That's one of my favorite beers and its taste was way off. They need to clean their tap or check the keg. The food was alright and the service for dinner was good.

Reasonably quiet so you can carry on a conversation. And the Shepherd's Pie is awesome!

Very child friendly staff, yummy food (we had bangers and mash and chicken and waffles). The outdoor area is lovely!

Work lunch with coworkers and we had fish and chips, Buffalo chicken sandwich and Philly steak. So good. Never disappoints!

I've been going there for many years and I gotta say, it's been consistently a good time. The staff is always excellent (shout out to Travis! ) and I love that its KINDA also an art gallery.

The shepherd's pie was more of a soup than stew, but tasty. I ordered a Guinness, and unfortunately, like most places, they really don't know how to pour properly. It was okay.

We had a high school graduation party for my son and it was wonderful! Everyone was so helpful and kind. We got to put up decorations & even had room for a photobooth. Food was delicious and everyone at it all!! Exactly what we wanted for this celebration and very easy to get done!! Thank you Tasha and Noah and Nick for taking such good care of us and our guests!!

It's really good pub food in two locations in Albuquerque.

We moved to Portland 3 years ago and came back to visit. We love to sit out on the patio, where you can smoke, and spent hours catching up with friends having drinks and appetizers. It was a lovely time and the food and service is excellent!

This place had atmosphere! Service was great and food was very good. Served gave great recommendations. Very pleased with our experience. Dedicated parking was a plus! Highly recommended!

Not much for drinking, but, this place is right down the street, and the chili cheese fries are irresistible. I was not expecting the heat that came with them, but it was a welcomed surprise that really made a huge, delicious difference. From what I can tell, the beverage choices are vast, and the interior seems quite relaxed and comfortable.

Came in for a later lunch for our first time, got to seat ourselves and had drinks in hand in minutes, which speaks to the great service here. We ordered the avacado burger and pulled pork sandwich, both of which were 5/5 stars. The atmosphere is extremely well put-together and had a matching aesthetic, it felt warm and inviting. Will absolutely visit again next time we're in Albequerque.

They have a room in the back that we use for meetings. They have a screen and microphone - so it would be a good place for a private party with karaoke as well!

Not inexpensive on St. Paddy's day. Good burgers.

Great pub! I had the Bangers and Mash! So delicious! Of course, lots of drink options. Atmosphere was lively and fun. Also have a patio for pet friends!

Came here at peak dinner rush on St Patrick’s day and I was amazed on the service. Got seated quickly and our food was out in 10 minutes. Our server was fast and attentive. I expected a long wait since it was their busiest day of the year and was beyond impressed!

Update: Had lunch here on 03/07/24. The Turkey Jack grilled sammy with green chile is outstanding. Loved the fries, too. Met with a group here for happy hour. It was my first time at O'Neills. The service was outstanding and the food was really good. I highly recommend the mac and cheese bites. The Celtic Punch was a nice combination of fruity and boozy. I'd definitely eat here again.

O’Niell’s is one of my favorite spots in Albuquerque! Their burgers are outstanding and they offer a gluten free bun as well. Every dish I’ve tried here has been phenomenal and the service is always friendly. The patio is spacious and dog friendly. I love this place!

I sat in the dining room and looked across at the other patrons and thought, "the best thing about Albuquerque is the amount of diversity." It made me happy to see that.

I used to adore oneils 😭 unfortunately today went to central location and basically got eaten alive by mosquitoes on the patio (the server stated they don’t occur when the fountain is on but it was off). It was so bad we left our drinks and food decidedly going to a different restaurant. Reply to owner: the fact your staff stated it doesn’t happen when the water isn’t stagnant means they ARE aware that stagnating water brings mosquitoes. Instead of telling me an excuse, how about just apologizing and saying they will do a better job at throwing some cleaner in and keeping it running? I used to work in ranches and yes we did keep mosquitoes down by cleaning water and keeping it running. Good luck with things hope you get some improvements.

A friend and I came in yesterday for lunch, a lunch we never had. We sat ourselves and a very nice girl brought menus and said waiter would be by shortly and initially he was, he just never came back so we decided to leave. Hadn't been to O'Niell's in over a year, used to be a favorite. Can't say I'll come back to find out if it still is.

Fun place, good service and decent food and prices

After a years long hiatus from one of my favorite places I returned to O'Niell's on Central Ave. with a guest for lunch. Still the same atmosphere and menu but my favorite paradise burger has gone from $9 to $16 plus a surcharge for using a credit card which really is gouging when the burger almost doubled in price. What I really don't appreciate is the onset of the Norovirus symptoms that both I and my guest are experiencing this morning. Needless to say that we won't be back to O'Niell's. REPLY to the owner... Looking at the menu I was aware of the current price and chose to pay it. The price is what the price is. I wasn't aware of the "penalty" charge for using a credit card until the check came and that would have caused me to walk out before ordering. If you can't make a profit charging $16 for a hamburger and have to gouge credit card customers then you might consider another business. My guest and I both getting sick after dining at O'Niell's is FAR more than a "disappointment" it was a week of severe discomfort. Do yourself a favor and go a bit farther west on Central to Two Fools Tavern. The food and service is outstanding and you won't be calling anyone on the "big white phone" in your bathroom.

First time at O’Niells. Very welcoming when you walk in. Very good and fast service and one of best Rueben sandwiches I have had. French fries were delicious. Would love to return and try something else.

Fish & chips, cold slaw, fries w house tartar sauce... I will enjoy Again!

A bigger wine selection would be nice, but the service was good, the wedge salad excellent, and the heated and covered patio provides a year-round alternative to the loud and crowded bar.

Update on review: O'Niell's truly cares for their customers. The owner reached out personally and apologized. The head manager Jeff took over with exceptional customer service and has made the situation right. He offered my friend and I to come back for a meal anytime in the future provided on a gift card. It's refreshing that this company still has customer service at its core values. Which I believe will keep them around for years to come. Thank you, O'Niells. Food is always great here. However, I had a disturbing experience there yesterday. Went in, and the waiter could not form a sentence. He was walking around with a confused look on his face and squinting. He took my drink order, and I didn't get the drink for 25 minutes. He then proceeded to take my drink to the wrong table. My friend wanted to leave because he was so impaired, but decided to get a drink because she had to wait for me to finish mine. We decided not to order food because he then brought her the wrong drink. We asked for the check, which he brought right away but didn't come back to charge us. So we asked another waitress to charge my friends card (as I was just paying her my part), but the waitress said she was too busy, although she was standing at one of the check out machines. So, she took our card to our waiter. He didn't come back to our table, and we waited for over 20 minutes. So we walked over to him and asked for the card back, and he got angry and said, "I gave you your card back!!" We said you didn't come back at all. So all the workers started frantically looking in their pockets and on the counters for the card. I looked over at a vacant table by the door, mind you nowhere near our table, and saw a card with a receipt and pen. I asked my friend to check if that was her card. Sure enough, it was. I asked to speak to the manager and the guy told me, "Leave and don't come back!!"I said no, you're ridiculous, I want to talk to the manager." The manager was standing right there and started apologizing but didn't know what to do. The waiter forcefully handed me $20 and told me again to "Leave and never come back." I handed the money back to the manager in disbelief that they would allow a waiter to treat their customers that way. My friend was holding a water bottle and was opening and closing the lid due to anxiety, and another waiter standing there turned around and said, "OH MY GOD, DID YOU JUST CLAP YOUR HANDS? My friend was like, "No, it was my water bottle." The manager had to turn around and tell the 2 employees to stop. I asked the manager to make our experience right as we were planning on coming for brunch the next day but had now changed our minds about ever coming back. As this whole experience lasted for over an hour and now we were leaving hungry to find somewhere else to eat. He did offer to give us brunch on the house, but we decided not to go back due to the rude staff. We will not be back to O'Niells. I hope this experience doesn't happen to other people.

We just had our Christmas Party at O'Niells. It was amazing. One of the best secrets in town. Our staff was wonderful. Cody, our Manager was so helpful and accommodating. Our bar tender and server, I apologize, I can't rether name, but again - wonderful!!! We know where we are going next year!!

Jonesed for fish and chips, stopped by O'NEILL s. Better than I remembered. Server was very good, and food arrived quickly. All in all a good experience.

Either one of the 2 spots, you can't go wrong with them. Even my friends from out of town know and ask, "when are we going to that Irish place you love"..lol🙂

Wow. O'Neill's has gone right down the toilet. This used to be a favorite spot! What happened!? As soon as we walked in, loud rock music started blaring. Honestly. I don't need to jam out at lunchtime. All the chairs had visible black grime, the tables were dirty and the menus were sticky. If the front of the house is this filthy, just imagine what the back of the house is like! Now imagine that in your food... Yikes! We left without ordering, and I filed a complaint with the health department. Gross!

Awesome food. Our server was really rude. Id definitely go back but not with that red headed waitress. I had the avocado burger and it was good. I'm usually a picky person but I do thoroughly enjoy these burgers with the side Cesar salad, the croutons are awesome as well

I've been going to O'Nielll's since the 90s! When it is a lovely day for Guinness, they have a great patio Or indoor space, that can accommodate large crowds. The food is good with some unusual choices. The service typically isn't speedy but I don't go there when I'm in a hurry. Plenty of parking.

Food was fine but calling this place an Irish Pub is wrong! Perhaps... might call it an Irish restaurant. No Irish music or entertainment or Irish atmosphere . We were there at 8:15pm on a Saturday night and the place was empty.

I love the indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy a meal but the food isn't that good. My Philly had a trace of dried up meat. Fries were unforgettable

The best Adult Oriented Bar. (Good for family too) In the sense that you can sit, have a nice beverage with wonderful choices of food and enjoy the company of others. No distractions of constant televisions (TV) on or loud jukebox music. It's Casual Classy! In the nicest way possible.

What a horrible birthday dinner we had for my daughter-in-law today. One of the six meals was passable. Server was occupied understandably with a huge party but we had to flag down anyone to get any assistance. What a different experience than years past. My advice? Avoid going there.

There are not really vegetarian options unless you want an impossible burger. Drink was good!

The atmosphere was great, the service was great, didn't have to wait long for anything food drink anything! The bartender was awesome and cute! I definitely will return and let all my friends know about this place and family! Wings are delish!

The puppy patio was great! Fish and chips were hot n fresh. Lamb in the Sheppard's pie was so flavorful and not greasy 👌 cheese curds were awesome in the poutine will be back for sure

This is our Friday afternoon lunch spot. Great food, fabulous service and a nice place to be regular. Great neighborhood bar with some truly delicious food.

We took our out-of-state guests and three dogs on a very cold night. The enclosed heated patio was warm and comfortable and the dogs loved the atmosphere. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked, not greasy and just the right size serving for dinner. One of us had pesto pasta and said the dish was very good and appreciated the vegetarian option. The Philly Cheesteak was tasty with crisp peppers. The waiter was efficient and attentive without being intrusive. The beer choices were perfect with the Elevated IPA being the favorite of the evening. This is the place to bring your well-behaved pets to enjoy a delicious meal with the family.

Such a nice place! I saw it many times from afar and thought it looked small. It was a great surprise when I walked in, so spacious, chill and friendly. Food was good. Our bartender was so nice too!! His name was Wesley (I think) make sure to catch him!

There is a reason I keep coming back time and time again. My mother is one of the most picky people about food and she never has a complaint about this place! I love it!

The food was almost perfect. My Mac n cheese was more like a soup, but it tasted really good. I would have asked for a spoon, but our waitress was too busy staring at her phone while sitting at the bar to get us drink refills, let alone do much else for us.

I had your fish n' chips dinner for the third time tonight. The fish was perfect. Love your tarter sauce and coleslaw too. It's a wonderful treat.

Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! Service was off the charts great. Lots of locals eat here. Everyone is so nice and the food was delicious! Don’t miss the lamb stew! It’s always available but not on the menu.

I went on St. Patricks day and it was popping. The service was good and the atmosphere was just what you would expect from a pub. Food is okay and they have beer and liquor.

Paid $10 for five pickle fries … not worth it at all

The Irish dancing was such a treat. Will become a tradition to go on New Years Eve Day before 5pm.

Do not come here if you want fried pickles! The pickle to fried ratio is way too high! They actually took a whole pickle and decided to only cut it into 4 quarters length wise before frying it. Please look at how Bosque does it and reform. Besides that, good Guinness. Will come again, just never ordering the fried pickles.

Love our local pubs. That's exactly what the homey, comfortable, yummy O'Neil's is. If you're looking for a fun Clean local place to go, this would be a great choice! It's just one of the several we have here in Albuquerque. (One of the older local pubs here.) It's clean with a good range of menu items. Their 🍻 beer is great and the atmosphere great for big or small groups. Has bike bars (lock ups) outside AND a quick charge for your 🔌 electric car! That's a ➕➕ for me. 🆓 Of charge no doubt ❗So .... Choose O'Neil's for your next couples outing, group get-together, party or family fun night! I promise you won't be disappointed! (And if you happen to go late morning early afternoon, we'll shoot, anytime would do! Order yourself a big bowl of yummy oatmeal! 🥣Way worth it!
