Love this place!!! The food is excellent!! Hostess that seats you... always with a smile. Waitresses... very nice also with a smile. A must stop when at State College.

Thee place to have breakfast in town! The food and the staff are simply GREAT!!!!! I’m only giving 4-Stars for now, because on 8/30/24 around 11:32am according to my credit card statement; the waitress made a mistake and charged me for an omelette I didn’t order. I’m sure they would have gladly adjusted my receipt for me, had I noticed it before I paid and left. Perhaps I’ll return and get it corrected when I get back home from being on the road.

PSU staple. You can not go wrong here.

Overrated to a comedic degree; the food is mid. If you want breakfast in State College, go to the Naked Egg. It's significantly better.

Delicious breakfast, omelettes are very good vegetables tender! Bacon perfectly crispy. My daughter loves the bread. Great service very friendly!

The food was great and our waitress was very nice! She (Alexis I believe) got us our food very quickly, but always made sure we were well taken care of! I was able to get a nice variety of foods for not too expensive, which is always nice for breakfast :) Overall, a really nice breakfast spot!

I love, LOVE The Original Waffle Shop North. Not only are the people who work there super-nice and attentive, but the restaurant is clean as a whistle and the food is wonderful. For example, the omelettes. Soooo good. And if you want the world's greatest turkey club sandwich, you'll find it here.

Daughter goes to Penn St and she took me here for breakfast 😋. Got my egg white omlete and pancakes. Coffee ☕️ is also excellent there. Service was friendly and fast. Will definitely be coming back.

Employee Taylor had a careless attitude and sprayed me with whatever cleaner that was in the bottle while I was sitting at the countertop. There’s no way you could’ve thought it wouldn’t spray me regardless of the angle and instead of just saying excuse me, she avoided eye contact, didn’t utter a word & just continued.. I was visibly taken aback and wiping my clothes. Very upsetting. Common sense says to use a damp rag or spray the cleaner on whatever you are using to wipe the table when there are people in front of you. She was much more careful while cleaning the two older white adult’s space when they came and sat next to me. Imagine. The only reason I stayed was because of the warm welcome I got from Mikayla who actually waited on me

I was there a day or two ago. For the first time. I have been missing out on so much. I loved this place. It had exceeded my expectations. I had an omelet and It was great. As was our server and the cleanliness of the establishment.

We waited a bit to be seated (which was expected for a Sunday morning of THON weekend) after we were seated we were immediately waited on and service was great! The portions were full and great, prices were good— everything was wonderful! The staff here is great and courteous given how packed it usually is.

A favorite breakfast spot! Portion's are great, food is so good and service is always friendly! The egg white omelet and home fries with a side of corn beef hash was amazing. I was able to share the side of hash!

It won't let me post pictures. But why is there HALF a leaf of lettuce, and what appears to be a half eaten carrot with a 10$ burger??? The fries are room temperature. Unacceptable and I won't be back.

If you can spend alot on breakfast, this is the place. Get the extra bacon

My wife and I enjoyed our breakfast. The only thing I didn't like was lemon wedges on the plates. Just made me wonder if they are left over from previous eaters? We will eat here again, but I'd ditch the lemon wedges if I were them.

I thought this place was a waffle place specifically. Imagine now my joy when I found out it was a diner. I like diners rather a lot. This place did not disappoint. It was one of the first places we visited on moving here and we fully enjoyed it. It was exactly what it needed to be and nothing else. Just spot on Americana at its best.

Great place! The Orange Juice was the best. I just wanted to sit, do a little homework, and get some breakfast. I got that, plus great service, and great food. My server, Lisa W. was awesome. She was attentive and available, but that wasn't the only thing I noticed about her. I watched as she interacted with an elderly gentleman who was dinning alone. She displayed great caring and attention to the gentleman. When taking his order, she repeated it back to him, and more importantly, when she brought his food, she explained it back to him. This was exceptionally good service because I don't think most servers would have had the awareness of the customer's needs, or compassion to deal with this customer. Her attention to him put him at ease, making him comfortable and me even more so. Great job Lisa W.!!! Your effort didn't go unnoticed!

Really busy on a Sunday morning, but handled with elite efficiency. We had an apple cinnamon waffle, and two mini platters. Great way to start the day!

Always a good experience at Waffle Shops, but I have to say this is my favorite location to eat at. I enjoy the staff here more than the Blue Course location and also like their bar seating more! Recommend the Eggs Benedict with crispy home fries and SD toast!

The WS is a State College staple and worth a visit when you are in town. Be prepared to wait for a table during the breakfast and lunch rush.

I went to this restaurant this morning and ordered waffles, however halfway through the meal I realized there was a blonde hair in there, it was very disgusting, I I have dark hair and the blonde hair came from their waitress, it was just disgusting. However no one at this restaurant apologized, they take it for granted, hygiene is a concern and a complaint must be filed against them.

One of my favorite breakfast places! Great, reliable, quick diner food. BEST WAFFLES! PRO TIP: If you enjoy savory food more than sweet food (like me) for breakfast but still want a bit of something sweet- place an order of waffles for the table! Kind of like an order of fries for the table. I don't always want to eat a whole waffle or pancake for a meal. When I go, I order one waffle for the table and we all share it! I get to order something more substantial for my main breakfast meal but also get to have something sweet, best of both worlds!

Food was delicious. I hot the bacon and cheese omelet, breakfast potatoes, and a wheat English muffin. My son got a hot chocolate and chocolate chip pancakes. Service was friendly. Food arrived in a timely manner.

The hot water for my tea smelled like sewage, there were bits of what looked like ground beef in my home fries. The waffles were good but wow 8$ each. The tea cup held approximately 2 ounces of liquid, at 6’3” it would take more than a few cups, but the stinky water made it undrinkable. Can’t recommend this restaurant

We live in NJ and every time we come this place is a must!!!! Amazing service everytime and don’t get me started with the food, if you haven’t been here already this is your sign to go!

WOWWWW!! What an amazing place to eat for a taste of Pennsylvania. Ordered the hoagie and loved it 😊. Was a little slow bringing it out and definitely tripped at least once in the stairs, but the food was so worth it!! The onion rings are amazing as well, would recommend them to make any one order a meal. The servings are a little small, but with the o ion rings they were perfect.

Literally my favorite restaurant. At minimum we go here at least once a year for my birthday. Been going here the last 20 years.

Very busy but a super breakfast.

No dairy-free milks or gluten-free breads, but what they do (waffles) they do well. Great service definitely covers up any antiquated aspects of the Shop.

July 2022 Huge all-day breakfast menu with a handful of burgers and sandwiches if you want lunch, and everything is very reasonably-priced. The veggie harvest omelette was delicious and not a gigantic portion either. The home fries were very tasty, a sort of crispy on the outside, smooth on the inside concoction. The pancakes were about average, nothing special, but the waffle was outstanding, very fluffy and sweet. Excellent, prompt service, too.

I’m eating my home fries. And find a freaking hair in my food. I give my food back, and don’t get more and decide to eat my fruit. THEN THERES A PIECE OF GLASS IN THE FRUIT?!? I ate a blueberry and felt it!! IM PREGNANT!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!!

I am posting for a friend who found a huge piece of glass in his food today (18-June-2023). He realized it was glass after he bit it. After the manager was summoned, they admitted something had shattered in the kitchen, but I guess they went ahead and served food to people without any concern for their safety or future liability. The manager decided to comp his meal. They eventually tried to charge him $2 plus tax for his coffee. I have never been to a restaurant with such a low quality of concern for the customers safety. Even though this place is a State College favorite, I would not recommend anyone to go there again.

My first experience here and WOW! The staff were so kind and prompt. Hands down the best waffle I’ve ever had. Home fries are hard to master but they did that too! Also the hot chocolate is an experience in itself - 10/10

Seated for over 10 minutes before we asked if we had been forgotten. Finally a server came. She apologized and the rest of the meal was very prompt. Breakfast was delicious. A very good start to our vacation! Restroom were clean and nice smelling

Waitress was very rude. We ordered drinks that were never brought out and instead got waters we didn't ask for. We were charger 12 dollars for sides with an omlette after not being informed that meat doesn't count as a side. Manager was also very rude. Will never be back

The worst service we have ever received here. Ignored for 20 minutes. Refills not offered until meal was completed. Then rushed to pay. Charge slip from previous customer sat on our table the entire time. Only thing saving a 1 star review is the food was great as always.

There’s so much to choose from on the menu. If you leave here hungry, you weren’t looking!

Great food! A bit slow to serve us, though. There were two families that came after us that were served before us, and they were both done eating before we got our food. It wasn't a big deal to us, but considering how busy it was, I'm surprised they let anyone wait.

We love this place! We visit our neice 2x a year at school and we eat here 2x each visit. The breakfast food is awesome. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is family friendly. It is the only place that I would stand outside and around the side of the building for!
