We recently moved to the area and have eaten at OSO Grill multiple times now. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. From the delicious food, to the super sweet owners and the friendly wait staff, we just absolutely love everything about this place. If you’re ever in Capitan, do not miss the chance to eat here!

We had a great dinner at Oso Grill. The fried pickles were awesome. They also had a nice gift store next door.

If you like a lot of dead animals on the walls and zero customer service with really horrible food even the salads are not edible, Then this is the place for you. Otherwise walk half a block down and go to the café. They have very limited vegetarian options and even those were horrible.

The burgers were great! And wonderful service! Good food for a great price! Can't wait to go back!

Food was good, bacon wrapped jalapeno were good with raspberry Chipotle sauce and ranch. We'll be back when we travel through.

Was just passing by and decided to eat here. I had the best meal with my family and the fried green chilli was so good. We had a lot of laughs and had a good meal. Would recommend visiting here again.

We arrived on July 5, and had to wait a short time for a low top table. There was a rodeo in town and the place was hopping! Our server was excellent! The food was amazing. I had the bacon guacamole cheeseburger with fries. It really was very good. The menu was varied not just burgers or sandwiches. Two burgers a soft drinks with a generous tip was $40.

The food is absolutely perfect! The flavor, texture, portions, everything! Service was also excellent. And believe it or not, the price was also perfect. We had the egg rolls and the hamburger steak with grilled vegetables. Probably the best grilled vegetables of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. Do yourself a favor and stop by here for an incredible meal.

We have been there several times to eat. While their food is decent, the owner needs to make the customers feel more welcomed, as she comes off her snooty and rude. She doesn't ever smile and I feel that if you own a any businesses, one needs to be a little more personable etc.

This place was very packed when we came there, could be because of our big family though 😅 It's a very Southern style venue. They got some reward for best cheeseburger with famous New Mexico green chili, which is cool, but I am not interested in burgers, you know🤭 Of course it was hard to find vegetarian food. So I had fried green chili stripes. And these stripes tasted like New Mexico green chili finally! It was good, but overloaded with oil, just like loaded fried potatoes. Not my thing. And they need to do some maintaining and cleaning works on their toilets.

A great hole in the wall place. The food was much better than you may expect here. It may not look like much but it was well worth the stop. I had the cat fish and fried green chili strips. Very good. Also had my favorite drink, Coke Zero. The burger my wife had was thick and cooked perfectly.

Fantastic food! They definitely are award-winning for a reason! You can’t go wrong with the New Mexico Star Fair Green Chile Cheeseburger or Tacos. Definitely will be back!

Three time chile cheeseburger champ at New Mexico state fair!

Veg's wasn't cooked all the way , personally talked with the owner very nice and sweet owner.

What's not to like? We tried 3 things and shared to get an overview of what they served. Everything was on point and the service was flawless. Grab that green chile cheese burger. Skip the dumpster fire of a burger in San Antonio (pick one it doesn't matter) and take the drive to honestly one of the top 3 green chile burgers in the state, so the country, get a side of queso blonco and enjoy!!

Oso Grill never disappoints! Everything on the menu is delicious, and the green chile burger is a must!

This place is fantastic. The green chile cheeseburger is the best I have eaten. My wife and I will return often because of the quality and hoslitality.

I normally don't review but if nothing else check your reciept for meaningless add-ons and your order (to go). Woman at drive thru window is rude and incompetent PERIOD

Great place! Staff was incredibly friendly, and that can really set the mood for the meal. The fried pickles, fried green chilis, loaded potato, salad, patty melt, quesadillas, and salsa were all amazing and the prices are all fair. Everything we had I would order again. Whether you are just passing through or here for a while, you won’t regret eating here.

Orderd the green chilie burger with side of fries, fries were cold and hard, burger overcooked, cold, cheese had been melted at some point, but not when it was served. Green chilie was decent, as long as it is not the fried chilies as those are bland l.

I ordered a green chile hamburger with fries, and it was not only beautifully presented, it tasted like perfection. The best green chile burger and fries of my long life in New Mexico. No wonder Oso Grill won the green chile burger competition at the State Fair. The service was phenomenal. Not once did our large table of people have to ask for a refill or for anything. Our server was top-notch, always making sure we had everything we needed. I definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Legendary place! Recommended by an elderly gentleman at the ticket office (cashier) of the Fort Stanton Historic Site as the best place to eat in the whole County... And he was right! Fantastic! Oso Burrito! Delicious! Leckerfein!!

Our meal here was absolutely amazing and bolstered by the friendly and quick staff! My husband had the green Chile cheeseburger, which absolutely lived up to the award winning status, and I had the Chipotle chicken wrap! Make sure to go next door and get some fudge!

Hands down the very best "Green Chile Cheeseburger" I have ever had. I have lived in New Mexico for 40+ years, and I have had green chile cheeseburgers all over this state, but this is the one I highly recommend as the best.

Best food in Lincoln County by far. Probably best food almost in the state- and I travel a lot, and I lived in Ruidoso for 6 years. Homemade ice cream, homemade pies, terrific main dishes, over the top friendly service. And costs probably 1/3 what the same food in ABQ or Santa Fe would cost, & it would be as good if not better. Who cares about skiing? Let's eat!

We arrived shortly before closing time, but they graciously seated us & promptly attended to our needs. It had been a long, tiring day, so we were very grateful, and the food was very good. Thank you, Oso!

My favorite place! Everything is amazing, but I usually stick with their award winning Green Chile Cheeseburger and amazing fries. We always spoil ourselves with their fried pickles and grilled jalepenos. The fried pickles are the best that we've ever had. They beat the other burger joints in Ruidoso. It's 100% worth the little drive.

This place is a must eat at! Homemade cooking at its best. I had the quesidilla, and some French fries. Tasty, only I didn't have to cook it! The table next to us had the fried peppers and the serving was huge. Actually my fries could have been split with a few people.

State Fair Burger is always a winner. The Meat Loaf is also yummy. The Oso Burrito is unusual but good too.

The food was awesome! Amazing to get so fresh tasting burgers in such a small town. I mean amazing!!! But the real bonus was the completely homemade chocolate lava cake with ice cream. I can’t rave about it enough. Forget any where else in this small town!! OSO Grill is the cleanest and has the best prices and service. Thank you for an amazing dinner.

For years I have passed this place up and never bothered to stop this Saturday my wife and kids took a day trio and Oso grill was on our list i can say it is worth every bite.

Very good green chile cheeseburger, one of the best i've had. Oso Egg Rolls with brisket and green chile were super good, too. Fast service and friendly staff. This restaurant has the best customer service you will find.

Food was good, we were seated quickly. Prompt service, chill atmosphere. My only complaint is the awkward treatment if your face isn't "regular" - very judgemental atmosphere.

Great place to eat in the middle of nowhere. We had their awesome Chilli Cheeseburger. Made with battered pepper strips. Nice twist. Friendly service. They were packed the day we were there and they still took the time to be friendly.

Who would have expected this awesome restaurant in the middle of Smokey the Bear territory, Capitan, New Mexico. Absolutely one of the best meals ever! I had fried catfish which I loved more than usual, great coleslaw and hushpuppies! My hubby, a hamburger connisoir (sp), rates hamburgers and in the 40 years we've been together he's never given a 10, BUT he did today at Oso. I can't wait to go back and get my own!! Super staff, quick service (and every table was booked), super clean, nice restrooms! A+A+A+

The atmosphere is great. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Burger was cooked perfect!! I had their New Mexico Choice burger!! (w/bacon added!) Jalapeño Poppers were good but really spicy!! Really fantastic staff and the food was outstanding!

The food was excellent 👌 Totally uncomfortable dinner. We got the New Mexico Green Chile Burger, Bacon Guacamole Cheeseburger, Oso Burrito and kids cheeseburger. There was a bit of a wait at 5:30pm on a Saturday, small place. First impression was I'm guessing owner lady yelling at us to wait next door at their gift shop that has no prices on most items... A pet peeve of mine. Our waitress was nice and good to start with but basically was chatting with other employees and didn't notice us wanting our ticket for about 5 minutes. Same lady owner yelled at me in a rude way when I was looking for the bathroom. Maybe that's just her personality. But then I started observing that she wasn't rude and abrupt with the locals... Which were all white... Not sure if it's a prejudice against out of towners or our white & brown mixed table. But side point the other owner, husband and wife I'm guessing. He was nice and checked on us. The food was excellent so it was too bad the other stuff left a bad taste in my mouth.

I usually get the chef salad. They do have the award-winning green chile Burger also.

I have yet to dine in but I've gotten taken out twice and food always good, seem to be made from scratch. Would definitely recommend but can't say how the inside is.

If I could give negative “stars” for atmosphere I would😡Food is mediocre, old waitress was quite rude. Didn’t even get a thank you when I paid the check! My daughter in law is black and we were stared at the entire time! Felt like we were in a racist establishment!

Loved this place, incredible service! I had the New Mexico Chili Burger, my wife had the Reuben, and our daughter had the Patty Melt. All tasted fabulous! Homemade chips were excellent!

Came here super excited with the grandparents since its been a while but the lady owner ( we know shes the owner cause we used to live in Capitan and eat here a lot)- She look pissed when we came in. She never even greeted us or smiled back at us. She made us feel our presence is a nuisance. Our server took a while getting our drinks so we tried to get the lady owner’s attention to order an appetizer. She slammed the appetizer plates next to my grandparents. If you were to run your restaurant, no matter how good your food is but if your service suck, that will leave a mark. Just because you have the “best state burger in nm” that doesnt give you an excuse to treat your customers like that. And ofcourse we will never go back.

Great place and great food! I tried the state fair burger and it was out of this world. Ranch is peak 10/10. The service was incredible: I think there were only two ladies serving the entire floor and they were straight running but never failed to be incredibly kind and excellent at their work.

Popped in yesterday after a volunteer event. Had chips & salsa, a burger, and chicken strips. Food was excellent. The servers and staff (I think maybe the owner was there pitching in too?) were hustling their tails off. I'll definitely come by again when I'm in the area - thanks for a great meal after a long day!!

Our group went to get meatloaf and milk stout, both of which were out! We've enjoyed both before, but both were not available and would not be for weeks 😭. What we did get was mediocre. I don't think we'll be back for quite a while.

Great menu and service. A local gem. Try the Oso tacos, you won't be disappointed. Limited tables during rush hours but the staff works well to get them turned. Don't miss a trip to the gift shop that's attached. Best ice cream anywhere.
