A nice little restaurant with a great patio. Service was good. Pretty attentive and considerate. I ordered spaghetti, and it was a bit bland. Would like to have tasted more flavor. Nothing real unique about it. I tried various pizzas from others in our party. They were solid offerings. Drinks were good. Great beer selection. We would likely eat here again, but it wasn't one of our top places in Big Sky.

Great food and lovely spot to eat during summer. Had a wonderful time sitting on the patio.

Super friendly staff. We had the beet salad for an appetizer and it was fabulous. My son had the chicken parm and my daughter had meatballs and spaghetti. Both were good. We also had a Montanan pizza. Wow!

A perfect dinner after a long day of hiking. The host’s cheerful energy was a refreshing welcome and our server, Katrina, took amazing care of us. We ordered the burrata, Montana pizza, and chicken parm - all of which were amazing! The pasta in the chicken parm dish tasted like it was made from scratch.

Don’t be fooled by fancy town Big Sky, this pizza is DELUXE and worth every penny!

We got take out after a local told us this was the best pizza in town. The pizza was ok, the kids spaghetti was good. The online menu is possibly wrong? We ordered a salad and at pick up was told they don’t have salad.

Great selection of food (in addition to pizza). It’s best to make a reservation if you know in advance when you will be going.

Some of the best pizzas, period...never mind for Montana. If we lived there, it would necessitate at least a weekly visit.

Locals told us this was the best pizza place but we think it's pretty mid. Service was a bit strange offish. Had a party of 8 and got 3 different pizzas. White Pizza and Hawaiian we're good. Their winter special pizza was okay. The middle was soggy like a pizza soup. Would explore other places before trying them again.

The food at Ousel & Spur was great. Their pasta dishes are delicious. Be sure to make a reservation at least a day in advance. The view of the mountains outside are amazing to look at while enjoying a drink The only negative aspect of the place is the people. Everyone was rather rude. I guess that happens when you have a restaurant that you need to plan ahead to eat at after a day of skiing.

Excellent food. Every dish was flavorful and thoughtful. The owner came and checked in on us. Lovely local gal. Our server, John, was great too. Highly recommend

Love the salmon and the chicken parm is to die for! Alec is a genius, John C is a riot and Bradley is a knowledgeable gem. Trish makes the best salmon ! Maya as cool as a cucumber and Jordan is the sweetest..

We actually didn't eat AT the restaurant, but rather got pizza to go... So don't trust my "service and atmosphere" rating. The pizza (pepperoni and elk sausage) was good, even considering the trip/time back to the rental. Probably even better if eaten at the restaurant.

We ordered two pizzas - carry out. It was Spring Break; even so, the pizzas were ready promptly and were excellent. We will DEFINITELY be returning to Oesel & Spur. High end pizza.

Great pizza place in Big Sky. We came here to celebrate my sister's birthday. We had a pretty large group and they were very accommodating.

The food is decent. The staff looked miserable. And the woman at the front, Jen, is atrocious. Rude, Cold and everything makes her bothersome. The evening I took my mom it was the day after her birthday. The entire trip in Big Sky was a celebration. It was also -30° for two days. We arrived at the restaurant, a little extra early due to the nature of the roads and we wanted to take our time. It was so cold, and so beautiful, but a little too cold to stand outside. Jen strongly suggested that we leave the restaurant to stand outside and I quote, “look at the windows of the shops”. Jen just wanted us to leave the restaurant because it’s true, the opening where the hostess stand is not very large. But we didn’t budge because it was cold and uncomfortable. It was also uncomfortable standing there with Jen, but she walked away eventually. Our waiter, John was nice. He was definitely agitated at the beginning of our dinner, but he did relax once my mom and I were talking to him a little bit. He made good cocktails. The pizza was OK. They forgot to put the red sauce on, how that even happened I’m not quite sure they got confused because I wanted both olive oil and red sauce and they just put olive oil which dried out the cheese veggies and the crust. We were so hungry that when the restaurant offered to remake it, I genuinely didn’t want to wait. I wouldn’t return here just based off of my personal experience. The food isn’t that good. What upset me more was the state of the people who worked there. Go to Michaelangelos‘s. Pinky g’s is right across the street and their pizza is much better. Perch at the waypoint has better bison, meatballs. Overall, this place is adorable! And it’s a town favorite. But you can only go so long with sour service. Perhaps a vacation is necessary for the staff.

My son and I came here for dinner. The hostess told us she couldn’t fit us in but we could sit at the bar. Immediately after we were told that she told the next people she could get them sat at a table in 1/2 hour. Huh?! Anyways we sat at the bar and then she tried to squeeze more people next to us. Our chairs were touching and because we were so cramped my son ended up being stuffed into the corner that had a portion of bar area in his face. He was very uncomfortable. We ordered quickly as we needed to make a bus in 1 1/2 hours. The people who sat next to us after we came in also ordered pretty quickly after we did. They rec’d their food and actually even had dessert while we were still waiting on our meal (one pizza and one pasta dish). At one point we asked about how long til we got our food and was told the next pizza was his. We saw a few more pizzas come and go and asked again pointing it out that his wasn’t the next pizza to come out. We were told another 10 minutes. We missed the bus even before our food came out!!! At the end they apologized and took our sodas off the bill. That was a pretty lame offer honestly! I work as a hostess in a fine dining restaurant. I’d be out of a job or written up if I did what the hostess did. Also, they should have at least offered some sort of compensation for the amount of time we waited and they knew if food didn’t come out we would miss the bus because I told them that. Food was good but not good enough to ever come back and go through that ordeal again!

We have dined here many times before & always liked the pizza. Tonight we ordered a Margarita pizza for pickup. My husband & I were very disappointed!! The crust was good, but the pizza itself wasn't very good. We will never order this again. Maybe it's a new chef or something. My husband called it a really "weak" pizza.

We found this place by accident and it was wonderful! Such a pleasant surprise. They had tons of gluten free options. The pizza was great. The glutinous family members thought it was terrific as well! 5 stars

The homemade pasta dishes were all fabulous! The entire family ordered chicken parmesan. I ordered meat sauce with burrata cheese & homemade noodles. We also shared the meatballs appetizer. Apparently the pizzas are also great but I highly recommend the pasta!

Ordered take out so I shouldn't really judge the atmosphere. These folks work and do a great job. Everyone loved their food - pizza, meatballs, chicken parm, and salads. I would order here again. They get crazy busy so keep that in mind and be patient!

This was the best take & bake our family has ever tried. The crust was excellent. Scored a four compared to restaurant baked pizza.

Seems to be a very common theme, the staff is rude. The food is not worth the reservation, the wait, nor is the staff worth putting up with. We had a reservation and decided to order takeout for the reservation and we were still charged a cancellation fee. I will be refuting the charge with my credit card company.

We had reservations as a group of 5 but decided due to extreme weather to go pick up our pizzas instead of eating it at the restaurant. So we decided to place an order over the phone and cancel our reservation. We walked into the empty restaurant to pick up our order only to find out we get charged 20 per person for canceling our reservation (not made clear up front). We were not even allowed to reverse our reservation and sit in the restaurant. When talking to the host about how it’s a win win situation where the host would get a seat opened up for another customer while still making money from our order, the host was just very rude and kept on stating that they have policies (I understand but you do not have to be rude about it, maybe have a little of empathy maybe understand the situation). This is sad because the pizzas were good it’s just expect bad service the moment you walk in the door. Host is the first rude Montanan I’ve met so definitely was caught off guard!

We come every year & love it. We ordered pizzas, spaghetti, Mac n cheese, & Chicken Parmesan. Huckle berry soda was delicious as well. Our 4 kids enjoy it much. Our daughter made 2024 glasses from their kids activity :) Happy New Year Ousel & Spur! Lovely service & tasty food.

Superb service! Amazing food, great atmosphere! Highly recommended. My favorite restaurant in Big Sky. Living here, I visit often. Always consistent and fresh in house made food! The white pizza with elk sausage is my favorite!

Each pizza topping is extremely flavorful, and the dough is wonderfully chewy. Portions for toppings, salad an entrees are generous. Chicken Parmigiana was crispy and moist.

Ordered the white pizza for pickup 2 nights of the 7 nights we were there. If you're in Big Sky, this is a must.

This place was a welcomed surprise on a Monday evening (off season) when there was nowhere else to dine at. Pizza was great. Burrata was Fab. And the drinks were solid! Recommend!

Service absolutely horrible! Michelle with 2-L was horrible and seemed to have projected her anger toward our group. We ordered 7 pizzas in advance and she would not allow us to eat “their” own pizza at their own establishments. The pizza is mediocre. 16 people in our group would have purchased drinks and other items! She clearly didn’t want our services. Instead we took our other business down to Pinky G’s

We placed a large to go order at this restaurant as we were in town on a work trip. We had a large group of 14 and pre-paid in order to not over load the kitchen upon our arrival. We asked if we could sit in there restaurant or outside seating and to our astonishment was given a Firm, hard, rude NO by Michelle. The pizza was extremely greasy and would not recommend. Pass if you are here on business or vacation as you will be treated unkindly and with immense attitude.

We got the wild mushroom pizza as takeout. After a long day at Yellowstone NP, we called the restaurant at 7pm to place the order and mentioned that we will only be picking it up at 8pm, when we get to Big Sky, where we were staying. We called so much ahead because we knew we wouldn't have cell signal until we reached Big Sky. But clearly, they don't care if the customer enjoys the pizza at its best. It was barely warm when we picked it up and cold by the time we had it in our hotel room, 5 minutes away. I don't know if the pizza being cold was a factor, but honestly, it felt like the toppings had been paired randomly. They didn't go well together at all, or maybe the proportions were off. Disappointing either way.

Our go to fav restaurant in Big Sky. Reserve on Resy to guarantee table when busy. Great thin crust pizza, meatballs, chicken parm & chicken piccata when offered. Good wine list. Owner Jen always does her best to get bigger parties in with advanced warning. Jon exc fun bartender/server. Really, everyone is 🌟. Very reasonable prices.

We had a wild mushroom pizza and a beets salad, both were very good. There are so many pizza places in Big Sky and this place indeed stands out with its variety of toppings on a thin crust. The service was very friendly and quick.

Nice place to have dinner in town. The Montana pizza with elk sausage was delicious. Me and my girlfriend ate here on the patio one evening and had a great meal with a beautiful view of the mountains.

Entirely Greasy Thin Pizza - if you can’t serve a pepperoni pizza that’s a cesspool of grease - don’t serve it. Something needs to change like the mammoth size pepperoni and or wet dough you start off with? I returned 95% of the inedible pizza and wasn’t reimbursed. So here’s your negative but honest review. The macaroni and cheese looked appetizing but was dry not creamy. I love a creamy dish. The noodles were incredibly dry; entire dish was simply dry. I just never saw macaroni and cheese so dry. Not impressed and would not return - There are too many other restaurants in the area. I will add - my daughter loves ranch and this place does not serve ranch as our service person stated - - the owner doesn’t like ranch so the place doesn’t serve ranch. I personally don’t like ranch - but hey, many people LOVE IT!

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. We had a group of 15 people trying to eat dinner here and the hostess was extremely rude. She said, “we never serve that many people at one time.” I asked if we could split our families up and she said no. Offered us take out as our only option. Why would I give money to this restaurant when I’ve already been treated so rudely. I’m not sure how this place stays in business with a hostess so rude and demeaning. We walked down the street and had a great meal at Pinky G’s where they were so accommodating and friendly.

I can't speak much to the atmosphere as we took our pizza to go, but the building is clean and pleasant. But the pizza I can review, and good lord was it fantastic. We opted for the wild mushroom, and it was the perfect mixture of sweet and salty with a lovely balsamic glaze and hints of rosemary. Was easily the best thing we consumed on our trip to Montana. Only regret is that we don't half a nation away, or this would be a go-to for sure.

The Pappardelle Bolognese was outstanding. Homemade pasta, rich sauce, all the good stuff. The Montanan pizza was really good, although I appreciated the potato chips, I didn't love them ON the pizza. The Hawaiian I could eat all day!

The manager at this restaurant is named, Bradley. He is rude and MEAN. My family and I were so excited to try this restaurant. But not for long. The minute we got the walked in Bradley decided to stare me up and down in the weirdest way. He then in front of everyone said I’m not seating you. I have no idea if he confused me with someone but I’ve never had something like this before. Unprofessional and weird is an understatement. I feel really bad for the owners of this restaurant. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND BRADLEY.

We lucked out our first night in Big Sky and managed to get in when a party didn't show up for their reservation. We were very glad that we did. The food here is fantastic. The meatball appetizer is crave worthy, and the pizza was excellent. The elk sausage is highly recommended.

Food is great! We’ve been going here since it opened. Staff is wonderful the owner is not. If you have to cancel a reservation make sure you cancel 2 hours before but because they don’t answer the phone be sure to leave a message. Because of the the hundreds of reservations they turn away because of yours make sure you follow directions or you will be shamed. 😂 Big Sky is one of the most friendly places I know. I hope this lady has to sling pizzas the rest of her life for as awful as she treats her customers. We will never be back but give it a try. We’ve always loved it up until we had to cancel a reservation because of 2 sick people. BTW I would’ve been more than happy to pay a cancellation fee but that was never brought up it was better to shame me & not have a normal adult conversation.

Do not skip on the Montanan, wow, what an amazingly, unique pie! Jen was wonderful working with us and our timing, Ryan's service was on point, the Chicken Parm was delicious, and the Shirley Temple Cocktail was excellent at the end of a lovely day on the slopes...what an awesome restaurant!

Experienced a new low in service coming here. First review I've left in a long time. After waiting close to 45 minutes for our food (after ordering), and another 20 for the server to check back after the food was back, I asked to speak to someone about closing us out, as our server hadn't been back yet again for a long while. A woman server offered the manager, but our original server returned asking if we wanted dessert or anything else. At a loss for words, I asked if my pizza had been messed up, as clearly my husband's had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time, so beyond waiting, his meal was ruined without any acknowledgement, assuming we just wouldn't say anything and pay full price. She did acknowledge they had to remake my pie which was cause for the wait - which made sense. Leaving the restaurant, my husband stopped to speak to the manager, who knew we were upset because of the original request to speak to someone, but ignored him for a number of minutes. My husband finally asked if he had a minute to talk, he said just a minute, and then helped a new customer walking in, and proceeded to walk to the back. At this point my husband said under his breath 'Are you s**** me?'. I was shocked to observe the original woman server, who had heard him, proceed to scold him like a child to watch his mouth and that it was not ok to use language like that, that they're all working hard and the manager is doing the best he can. I mention this because this woman is the one who I originally asked for help from because we were having a horrendous experience - is this how you treat your customers? I understand mistakes happen but this is a low I haven't experienced to date at a restaurant from multiple people on the floor at the same time. As former service folks, we understand how hard service work is, and gave a number of affordances throughout the evening, including patience for an hour and a half throughout the entire experience. But to pretend there is no problem, ignore the customer (in multiple instances), and then scold them, is a level of arrogance and disrespect I have never experienced from a functioning business. I left the whole evening in shock, and it quite frankly ruined one of the nights of our honeymoon this week in Big Sky. Do not eat here - and for the owner, hire staff competent enough to have a conversation with customers when there are issues, because clearly no one had a skillset in conflict resolution or communication to be able to help us. We were so excited to come here, and were left with a bad memory and new bar for poor service I hope to not experience again.

Charming and bustling. Well appointed wine and drinks menu, majority of dish are made in house. Make a reservation given the size of the restaurant and the quality of food. Enjoyed the large Caesar (hearty even split btwn 2), bolognese and a white pizza with the best crisp the to the middle crust and hearty toppings. Chef’s kiss 💋

Pizza greasy, service mediocre.

I’ve been eating here since it opened and have never had a bad pizza. We get it every time we are in town. It’s become so busy in town the last few times, take out was the only option. The Negronis were on point. I do wish they would serve more bread with the burrata-4 small pieces for a large ball is not enough and up charging for more seemed off.

We got three pizzas from here and they were all absolutely delicious. The crust is done to perfection and the toppings were off. Fresh and yummy. I would highly recommend.

This place is serving great food. Stopped here on our was to Glacier national park. We had the Beet and apple salad and the mushrooms prosciutto pizza. Everything was so tasty. If your eating pizza in big sky this is the place.

Seems there is a common theme about the owner - woman at hostess. We walked in and asked her table. She immediately told us to go sit at the bar. When we mentioned we did not want to sit at the bar with 3 other people, she said we would have to wait. She went over to a table right by the door and cleaned it. She told us it would be 20 to 30 minutes away. We mentioned what about the table right there and she told us it was reserved. My friend asked me do I want to wait? Immediately because She blurted in that we can go eat at another restaurant next door where the food is good! I was extremely shocked and said I guess you’re kicking us out. She seem to have a little chip on her shoulder and not that friendly. The funny thing is I think she picks and chooses who she wants to eat at her restaurant. All the other restaurants were pretty empty. It was surprising how she was on wait. If you want to have an enjoyable dinner in big sky, do not go here. Don’t support people who are just downright mean.

Great food! Staff and hostess are rude! Acted like she was doing us a favor for allowing us a table!!! Attitudes kinda ruin the food! Unfortunate bc it is a neat place! Maybe your experience will be different. Big Sky is like Gatlinburg on steroids! Very touristy.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Big Sky. The food is consistent, the service is great and we always leave happy! I always get their seasonal salmon dish because they cook it perfectly!

Pizza is great but the hostess is a nightmare. We placed a to go order and she acted like us asking how many slices each pie had was the biggest inconvenience. We then asked about the timing of it and she said not to bother her.

The white pizza was so good we had it twice during a week-long trip. The burrata is one of the best appetizers I’ve had anywhere. The staff is friendly.

Very much enjoyed my time! With the low the staffing and high volume of people visiting here, I was impressed with the service from my bar tender Jon. When I arrived tables were empty but reserved, so I would reserve one of the tables ahead of time. They do offer first come first serve bar seats but that to is small and limited. Food was amazing and the drinks on point. I really enjoyed being at the bar even know it was small, it was a nice chance to chat with locals and visitors, Jon was a pleasure to speak with about places and things to do while in the area. Again most places in town seem to be booked up most nights so plan on making reservations for the establishments you plan on dining at. I would highly recommend this as one of those establishments.

Food was decent. Bartender who was serving us was snoopy and eavesdropped randomly correcting us on things we were talking about. Hostess was incredibly ridiculously rude, making US ask a customer if they could scoot over so we could sit at the bar. The bar was the “only open seating” and yet five tables were completely open the entire time of our meal. Too bad, as the place as potential.

Poor customer service on Mondays

We were allowed to sit at the bar but the bartender rolled his eyes and said I will get to you in a while. He sat and dried glasses for 5 minutes ignored us and we were afraid that he would do something to our food. There were tables that were open. When I spoke to the owner she said this was not like him but offered no explanation for his behavior. Wow if I were you don’t go here

Hostess must be related to the owner. The insanely rude hostess staff distracted from an awesome waiter and excellent food. The Montanan Pizza is one of the best I've ever had.

Wow, treating customers so rudely is a total understatement for the customer experience at this pizzeria. The owner is so arrogant that she thinks she is doing customers a favor to sell a pizza pie. After waiting long time for a table with a small kid, we opted for a take out. As soon as we paid, the owner told us to wait for another 50 mins for one pizza pie! We asked to cancel the take out order, but the woman became so angry and said “you should never enter my restaurant again”. Incredible! We are global trekkers and are attracted to the natural beauty of Big Sky and genuinely kind people in Montana. What a disappointment! When we encounter people who are ugly inside out, the best thing to do is to spread the words and share the experience with fellow travelers to stay away from indecency and bad business practice. Stay away from this place! Plenty of great restaurants in Big Sky! Big Sky deserves better!

Wow, honestly I have no words. My family has never been treated so ugly by owners of a restaurant in my entire life. The entire situation was very bad and they were EXTREMELY rude. We got there early for our reservation because we had kids who were tired and a pregnant mom who wasn’t feeling well to ask if we could either come in early or just order takeout. We were told that we couldn’t change the reservation because they were too busy…which was fine. I then asked if we could sit at the bar, order some drinks and order takeout. They said that we could, but they would make sure to make the food take as long as our original reservation time, because they would know that was our plan. At that point, since that was on one of the most obtuse reactions to an honest request I’ve heard, I said that we wanted to cancel our reservation and go somewhere that would appreciate our business. After that, this place had the nerve to lie to Resy and say we never canceled our reservation and charged my card a $20 per person penalty. The rule was that we had to cancel it at least two hours before the reservation time and we did in person almost 3 hours before. This place is a joke and has the worst customer service in one of the nicest towns I’ve ever visited. I asked some locals about this place after the fact and they said “don’t worry, that place won’t last long.” I have no doubt they are correct. Stay away!

Don’t usually leave negative reviews but we have a baby and booked a table for 2 plus left a note that we needed a high chair. We were scolded by the hostess for booking a 2 tops and treated pretty poorly. Ultimately we would have been seated no problem but the hostess was so rude to us that after that interaction we cancelled our reservation. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

My food mission: thin crust pizza. Awesome pizza. It's not my top pizza place but definitely in my top 10. Good service. Pizza came out timely and just the right amount of visits from our waitress to feel cared for and not too many to feel rushed or overly cosseted.

My favorite restaurant in Big Sky. Jen has created something truly special and the food is second to none. Highly recommend the mushroom pizza and brownie w/ ice cream :)

Great pizza. We did not try the pasta, but I bet it is very good as well. Worth the visit.

Excellent food and stellar service. We were 1.5 hours late to our reservation due to crazy traffic caused by a snowstorm. Jen greeted us with a smile and found us a table, even though they were full, all while responding to voicemails and texts and dispatching pickup orders. She even bussed tables at one point. The true test of a restaurant is how it responds to chaos, and the staff at Ousel & Spur deserves a medal. We braved the storm to come back to eat here after several years and were not disappointed. The Montanan pizza is surprising and comforting. Perfect, thin crust, just the right amount of ingredients. The elk Bolognese papardalle was spot on. Sauce proportions we're good and...burrata...need I say more? Had great cocktails next door at the Independent afterwards, highly recommended as well. Will be back for sure. It's no wonder this restaurant has stood the test of time.

Tried to go on a Saturday night, person at the door ignored us for a long time and was really snotty telling us there was no room. Wouldn't try going back.
