This experience was so amazing. I got to have a great dinner with my Brother and it was worth it. We had a 5 course set menu dinner and both got the whiskey flight. This style of dining is different than a typical restaurant, so please bare that in mind should you choose this type of experience. The coom prepares a course and all patrons are served that course at the same time; so plates come out in about a 5 mins span. I did not feel rushed to complete any of the courses we were served; timing was well executed. There is typically 1-2 servers taking care of serving and bussing, so sometimes it may seem that they are not giving as much time as other servers do, but they stopped any time we ask for something or had questions and I didn't feel rushed through the chat. The food was incredible, first time having a niçoise salad and it was amazing. The filet mignon was beautiful! I hope to go back for another experience and you should go at least once! It was quite hot, my Brother stepped outside a feet times, fans weren't going either. It was a warm day also, the view is stunning, the property was very clean, but the heat inside was aggressive. I don't feel like this is an all the time issue though. And we didn't say anything or ask for fans to be turned on...im not sure why not lol

To celebrate my birthday, my best friend took me and another couple here as a surprise. We all were so impressed with the location, atmosphere, wine selection and the food selection. Every item picked was thoroughly enjoyed and relished. However, the personnel that served us there was absolutely the best. Thank you! We will be back!

We had a reservation for 7:30 called and let them know we were running late. I was told that was fine, but the kitchen closed at 8:00. We ordered quickly and made it simple. I felt bad for the waitress she was nice but really seemed rushed and overwhelmed. We ordered the 4 course dinner for two surf and turf. Soup was delicious and the pasta was ok a lot of chipotle seasoning, but the generous amount of shrimp made up for it. The main course was not good at all it tasted like the steak was made hours before. It was cold and very over cooked even uneatable. The wine pairing which is extra tasted like it was the left over wine that happen to be open at the end of the night. The restaurant is beautiful and the waitress was very kind but sadly the food itself and wine wasn’t worth $125

I took my parents there for Father's Day Brunch, which was served buffet style. There was only one seating time offered and only one server, so we had to wait for her to get everyone's beverages, before the buffet got started. I wouldn't have minded this, except there weren't any chaffing dishes to keep the food warm in the meantime. Consequently while the quality of the food was high, and the flavors were good, it was lukewarm at best by the time we were actually able to eat it. I would like to go back for their farm-to-table prix fix wine pairing dinner service, and see how that is, as I have heard nothing but good things about it! Also I gave it 4 stars for food and service because of the wait times and cold food, not because of quality. The server was friendly and as attentive as she could be, under the circumstances.

OMG If you come here you will not be disappointed! Guaranteed. The Sock eye salmon was amazing. Every thing on my plate was amazing. The Chef is a fantastic guy. Came out and talked to the patrons. I told him I was from Pennsylvania. He kindly welcomed me to Oregon. I told him I would put plugs in for this place back home for those who visit this area.

An awesome little hidden gem in our neck of the woods! My husband and I have been here a couple times on date nights this past winter. We’ve enjoyed everything we’ve gotten. The atmosphere is cozy/warm and intimate inside, I’ve never sat outside yet, but looking forward to it. They have live music for ambience, great wine pairings, and the food has been delicious! The portions are surprisingly larger than most prix fixe menus so you definitely won’t leave hungry, and might even have a to-go container. The chef comes out to meet the guests during the dessert course, he seems like a very nice person. This is not a stop in restaurant, so be sure to make reservations.

A gem near Forest Grove! This restaurant could compete with downtown Portland top restaurants. The menu, local produce, and attention to detail make this place a perfect date night or family gathering. Make sure to call for reservations because the schedule shifts week to week due to private events, holidays, or bookings. Definitely get the baklava and attend a wine pairing dinner night. Cheers!

Wonderful hidden gem. Took my wife here for her birthday. Very fancy and delicious four course meal and wine pairing was astonishingly delicious. You don’t need to spend a fortune, but they do offer a high end meals. The view of the Wilson river is gorgeous. This is our first time here and we came in November. We will definitely be back in the summer so we can sit outside…Creekside. The perfect mix of classy meets rustic! Incredible food, great service, cleanliness, classiness and competence. It’s here! We will be back many times. Thank you folks for this truly wonderfully hidden gem of a restaurant!

I do recommend people to try this place because their menu is unique and exciting. The location is cool too. But the actual quality/taste of dishes weren't that impressive for the price. In general overly heavy and greasy (maybe we picked particularly oil/butter-heavy pasta?) and they couldn't cook the steak medium-rare... It came out well done the first time, so we sent it back. The second time it was rare, like room-temp rare. Didn't send that back as it was awkward to keep sending back. Perhaps we just caught a bad night but again, glad we tried once anyways. Appetizers were nice. Probably will stick to the main metro area for future date nights tho.

Recently I ordered the Baked Ziti with Italian Sausage and was really disappointed. The noodles served with the dish were NOT Ziti (a cylindrical, hollow noodle) but another small spiral noodle. Then the so-called Italian Sausage was no where to be found in the dish. The server said it was chopped up but I was unable to find any sort chopped sausage. The menu said "Baked Ziti with Italian Sausage" but what I got wasn't close to being such a dish. Highly unsatisfied and I truly doubt I will go there again.

Oh goodness, I don't know where to even begin. It was our first time here and we picked one of the Valentine's Day specials. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is gorgeous, I can't wait to go here in the summer and experience the outdoor seating. Every course was absolutely flawless, I lost count of how many times I said "oh my god". Food was cooked perfectly and bursting with flavors. Baklava cheesecake was next level. It's definitely going to be our new go-to treat place.

Amazing. Simply amazing. Starting with the locale, out in the beauty of raw nature around Gales Creek, surrounded by the life of forestland. Then you enter into this beautiful rustic log cabin-like building, but are greeted with a perfect fusion of both modern and rustic. Bright, large windows and skylights open views on the surrounding forest and the sky above, and make the whole space feel airy and light. Then there is the outside patio, which allows like a giant balcony looking down at the creek below, and allowing full immersion into the surrounding wood. Is it a cold day? No problem! There are heaters ready to run on the patio to keep you warm. Is it rainy and wet? Again, no problem! Half the patio is under cover allowing you to enjoy your meal in the outdoors while maintaining relative comfort. Onto the chef: The chef and proprieter is one of the most warm, caring people you might ever meet. He cares for your comfort, as an individual first and foremost, above all other things. Even if there are multiple people, he is attentive to the needs and desires of his individual customers. But what is more, is that he doesn't treat you as a mere "customer," but like an honored guest, even if you don't yet know each other. He is like a father and a brother and a son to every individual that graces his restaurant. He makes it feel like home away from home. And to mention his staff - The folks he has hired are wonderful people, who are as attentive as he is, to their guests. The food: This is the real meat and potatoes (pun intended). I have experienced this place three times, personally. Twice through events and once as a visit with friends, to Out Aza Blue. Every item I have tried that has been prepared by chef has been of the utmost quality, every bite delicious. When attending with multiple people at events or for a casual meal, I have been able to try multiple of his dishes. The generous portions, the excellent quality, and the variety of choices made fresh to order, has by and far made this a Top-3 go-to spot for brunch or dinner for my friends and I. To mention that bar: The drink selection, the bartending service, AND THE WINE SELECTION... Words cannot describe how amazing this aspect is. You NEED to see the wall of wine, and experience the bar. That is all I can say about that. You will not be disappointed. Overall, I will be returning again and again. Here are some hints I can give - Always check the website. Out Aza Blue is very popular to book for events, and may be unavailable. However, advance notice is given on the website calendar. Be sure to check first, for availability, and then be sure to make a reservation. You may believe that this place is "snooty" because it requires reservations, but keep in mind because of the small staff and the amazing and excellent care that goes into ensuring the absolute quality of every meal, more time is needed, and thus less people can be accommodated overall. This isn't your typical diner - This is a beautiful destination restaurant and should be considered as such. Don't let the "reservation required" turn your attention away. Instead, assume the requirements only ensures your experience will be as amazing as mine as been. If you have not been, plan on going to Out Aza Blue. Consider an evening of romance, or spend a meal with your family or friends. Check the website for the next opening. Take a gander at the menu. I can personally promise that you will not be disappointed, and the experience will be transformative and you, too, will call this restaurant your "Top-3." Maybe even your #1!

Went this evening for a Mystery Dinner where Chef Gabriel surprises you with a 5 course meal made with the theme of the night. Tonight's specialty was all things made with locally grown wild mushrooms. Each dish served was so unique and could tell it was prepared by the hands of a food genius. We also did the wine pairing with each course (optional for an additional fee) and it was delightful. Pleasing to the palate and senses on all levels. We sat outside overlooking the babbling brook and enjoyed the live music. Staff was attentive with Chef Gabriel delivering most of the meals. Coming from NY and living in LA for years, this place is a unique, cozy, delicious and fun place to eat. The element being surprised with each course added to the experience. Will return for sure to try out their regular menu. It does have limited hours, so make sure you secure a reservation.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. When the opportunity came up..I went. Made my reservation for the heated outdoor patio. Took a good friend and made an evening of it. The place was nice..but the patio tables could have at least had some kind of cushions for the seats. And we had to ask to have a heater brought over and turned on. We sat down at 7. And the cool air off the creek was nice..and an amazing backdrop to eat with. But it left a lady in a skirt a bit chilly. The waitress didn't seem happy about haveing to make us comfortable. We ordered the Saturday night dinner for two. Four course meal.. with plenty of food for two. The bacon wrapped, gouda stuffed dates was the appetizer. I was impressed with the flavor. And the drizzle of BBQ sauce was not only decorative but really brought out the smoky bacon flavor. The salad..was a Niscoise salad..with an amazing seared tuna steak. Excellently done. The tuna was not over cooked and had the right amount of seasoning to compliment the meat. The vegetables were fresh and the kalamata olives lenses enough salty to cut the vinegar in the dressing. Well done . For the main course we opted to upgrade to a ribeye steak that was presented atop a large bowl of mashed potatoes and a creamy crimini mushroom gravy. Again..the presentation was on point. The steak was cool well. I asked for medium rare..it was a bit more medium than rare..but that wasn't bad at all. My only complaint with this course was it was a bit bland. Had there been salt and pepper on the table..problem solved. Otherwise, it was a great cut of meat..and the potatoes were very nicely done. And for desert..the Irish pudding with hints of butterscotch. Absolutely delicious. The salted caramel on top of the pudding, which had a texture of custard almost, made this pudding top notch. And hints of butterscotch..is just that..a hint..not overpowering at all. And once again presented well. I would like to see a regular knife in the offered silverware.. something with more edge than a butter knife. Especially when sharing food with someone else. They did bring a steak knife for the steak. But I would had preferred a ..sharper.. knife with the rest of my meal. Hard to cut bacon wrapped dates with a butter knife. And they were more than a mouthful whole. I In all.. I had a good time.. the food was worth comming back to try other options. And the price was more than fair for the amount of food we received. Update: Had a sit down with these guys for our wedding tonight. I cannot say enough great things about this place. If you haven't been here, you NEED to go. Such a classy joint with such wonderful people running it. This is absolutely my favorite place. Worth the drive. This is a place you have a special night. The service is impeccable and the food is to die for! Gabe, the chef takes such pride in his food and will come out and personally thank every customer. We have loved the food, atmosphere and values of this business for so long that we actually got married on their patio last year (a request they were able to accommodate in less than EIGHT DAYS). Every experience at Out Aza Blue has been incredible. We have our reservations made and are looking forward to 2022 Valentine's Dinner in a few weeks!

Stopped by there for dinner and the waitress was incredibly rude. She asked for our names and then said "you don't have a reservation and we don't have room for you." I can understand if they were booked and would've been happy they were doing well but she was so rude and unprofessional which makes me never want to go back there again. Replying to your reply. You must have me confused with another person that stopped in. My visit was during the summer time and there was not a sign on the door stating reservations only or we would've respected that and had not entered. Nor was there anyone behind me and my family or did you recommend we go next door.

It’s off a roadway that I have been traveling for years & didn’t know this place existed. Very cozy & romantic. Service was great - except when they got confused & gave away my growler with peach cider to another party (they corrected it & got me my peach cider filled growler (although not the growler I’d chosen) which I didn’t notice til I got home)). We tried appetizers, salad, main course, dessert & adult beverages. It was a great meal & company was fantastic.

Spectacular dining experience. The menu choices will have you wanting to order more than one dish. Presentation and taste of the dishes outshines many of downtown Portland's finest restaurants. Ordered pizza dinner for 2( large tropical pizza, 2 apple and glazed walnut salad with berry vinaigrette (my salads were a dollar extra each) and 2 baklava. Sign on door said to wait in car and order will be out when ready. I pulled up at the time they said it would be ready and waited two or three minutes. Everything was delicious, pizza was big enough for half a pizza leftovers, the salads are big and the dressing is great.

GREAT MEAL CHEF GABRIEL! I am staying with good family friends Charlie Harris at Flamingo Ridge Organic farm outside Gaston. He said the family was ordering out at a recommended restaurant up the road called Aza Blue (my hearing of it) and the owner chef Gabriel is top notch. Little did I know I was in for the best shrimp marinara over ziti dinners I have ever had, and I am always looking for the best marinara seafood.. I found myself savoring the sauce, not heavy, not light and counting the varied mix of classic ingredients. A lot of care went into it; the large and smaller shrimp (all fresh catch) were cooked to tender, the pasta likewise - meal full of flavor. Thanks Charlie and Chef Gabriel. Let’s do OUT AZA BLUE again SOON!!! It doesn’t get any better, west coast, east coast or in the heartland. Bill and friends

We had no idea! We have driven this Wilson Diver Hwy. route for years on our way to Tierra del Mar where our beach cabin is located. Just in the last few months, we have noticed your restaurant. We picked up the menu & were pleasantly surprised at the offerings, but you were closed at the time. My husband & I planned on trying it again on our way to the beach. So on Sunday our luck came due! We ordered the "Pasta and Vino Dinner for Two" for take out. This includes two choices of pasta dishes, two salads, and a bottle of red or white wine. Our pasta choices were Aza Carbonara, & chicken & broccoli azafredo. We both chose the fresh berry & feta salad. We also ordered the Manaeesh Rolls, stuffed with herbs, sundried tomatoes, and three cheeses. The red wine was a 2017 Columbia Vallley blend . Everything was amazing! We will definitely share with friends and family about your restaurant. We plan on returning very soon! Thank you!

Ordered the Pasta & Pizza for 4, and oh my was it delicious! And we had so much food left over. I ordered and picked up our food. Once I got home I realized I had forgotten our salad. 5 minutes after I realized it our doorbell rang. One of the nice gals at the restaurant had driven all the way to our house (25 minutes round trip) to bring us the salad we forgot. I didn’t even call! You know it’s hard for restaurants to show good service when they don’t have many opportunities right now with dine out only, but boy did they take this opportunity and make the most of it. You now have a customer for life. Incredible food, incredible service, my new favorite!!!!

We travel to Portland from Kansas City every four years or so but always make the trip to Gales Creek for this lovely restaurant. It’s better every single time and the chef is a total rock star ⭐️ We plan on visiting again this summer and can’t wait to see what amazing food and wine they will be serving 💕

Locally sourced food and a commitment to community are just the beginning of this fine establishment. Knotty pine interiors, a stone slab and wrought iron lighted outdoor dining patio add to the ambiance. The food is excellent (though I found the "house sauce" on my Carlton Farms beef burger too spicy), but you have to slow down on Hwy 6 near Glenwood if you're going to pull into their parking lot safely, they aren't allowed to have a big sign, so it is difficult to spot from your vehicle.

I love love LOVE this place. Went here yesterday with my boyfriend with a gift card we received and I enjoyed everything about it. The atmosphere, the way it looked, the food was amazing, I got the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, main course was the carbonara, and dessert was the apple pie sorbet. Then finished the night off with some baklava! Best baklava I've had in a long time. Definitely gonna be going back here, hopefully for our anniversary.
