Was really good food. Nice service, they picked my meal out flawlessly. If you haven't tried this place while in Jacksonville then you're missing out

My husband made a reservation for my birthday yesterday and people that arrived after us were seated first, they gave away the table he requested and no one acknowledged that I SHARE the OWNER'S BIRTHDAY. Had to leave after waiting 25 minutes.

Had a very bad experience 3 years ago when I visited this restaurant with a server that had poor behavior, i have since visited again and it has become one of my favorite places to eat. I absolutely love the food here and the servers there are very much more professional. I have decided to delete my old review and give this place a proper updated review, thank you for your food and great service!

Visited this wonderful restaurant with my wife just this past Sunday. We were not sure what to expect, but, there were so many glowing reviews, we were very hopeful. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere was great. The staff were so friendly. Ismael, our server, was very helpful, answering all of our questions. We got empanadas and a potato roll for appetizers, slow roasted pork and fried pork cubes for our entrees. These came with sweet plantains and rice and red beans. We had Tres leche cake snd vanilla flan for desert. Everything was so incredibly delicious. We can't wait for a chance to go back.

This was our first time to visit Palermo's. And what a wonderful experience it was! The restaurant was spotless and our server Ismael was very friendly and helpful in suggestions on what to order. We got empanadas, a potato roll, slow roasted pork, fried pork chunks with yellow rice and red beans and Trifongo (yucca and plantains). We were intrigued with all the flavors. And for dessert, we had Tres Leches cake and Vanilla Flan. What a great way to top off lunch. We are looking forward to visiting again!

Everything excellent except for little pricey. And careful with tip shows up at the bottom of receipt and they wont tell you so u end up double tipping.

Food was authentic and delicious. Spices on the food was so outstanding. The servers were attentive and cheerful. Food was brought out in a timely manner and hot. I live about an hour from this wonderful restaurant but will absolutely make it back there as much as possible. It was definitely worth the ride. My son loved it too. He had 2 beers, we both split an appetizer ( hummus) delicious, 2 entrees, 2 desserts. Very affordable.

The food at Palermo Puerto Rican Kitchen was so delicious! My family and I loved it. My 8 year old, who is a very picky-eater, ate all of his grilled chicken, picked to eat at the crumbs, gave the restaurant a "9 billion rating" (on a scale of 1 to 10), and then asked to order another order of his meal to go so he could eat it for dinner, and then asked me if I could learn to cook Puerto Rican food. The food was delicious! From the salad, the seafood empanada to the shrimp mofongo. Service was great cause they worked as a team.

This is the nicest restaurant in Clay Count!!! You know it’s going to be good when you get nice silverware, square plates and real glasses . The atmosphere is so conducive to fine dining with Spanish music and wonderful service. The hard part is, which delicious meal do you choose!!!

Party of 10+ Was contemplating leaving this review tonight but it was weighing heavy on my heart. I am a big believer in honesty, and today I don’t feel we received that as a large gathering. I don’t have an issue with gratuity being included, but I do have an issue with misleading customers when gratuity is already generated into the overall total that a customer is to pay. The food was absolutely outstanding. We were a large group and were happy with the smoothness of the overall service and dining experience. I don’t have any negative comments to make other than the transparency about gratuity being added so customers don’t wake up the next day in shock of leaving double the tip. I don’t mind leaving more than the calculated amount as long as the service was outstanding and friendly. A lot of us don’t feel that this was the case for today’s visit though. Update ***** July 26th *****^ We returned as a smaller group for lunch today and the food was consistently delicious. From the appetizers, to the meal and dessert. Today’s service was much better than the service received last time we visited and we were able to leave our own gratuity rather than being charged twice. If you dine in as a large party, just be cautious when paying to make sure you aren’t leaving two different gratuities if you don’t mean too. Nonetheless, I highly recommend.

I was really looking forward to this meal. Turns out PPRK was too good to be true. So I called in for a takeout meal. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish but the fried pork squares with mofongo and rice was not very good. The pork was super chewy and tough. It was seasoned alright but the difficulty of eating it made it really dissatisfying. Also I was supposed to get a salad with it. Which they didn’t place in my order. Which I don’t understand how they missed that. It seems pretty simple to me when an order is placed, that all the sides that come standard with the order, are in the finished product. But for some reason they left my salad out, which is part of the $25 I spent on a combo meal there. At the end of the meal I ate. I also didn’t feel very well. Maybe they used too much oil or something but i ended up feeling pretty green afterwards. So I came away from eating this meal very dissatisfied. Hence the one star rating. I hate to rate these guys that low but for what their ratings said and the expectation I had going into eating here? I came away disappointed and with a belly ache from the food.

One of the BEST places to eat!! They never disappoint and the food is always delicious.. my all time favorite is the stuffed grilled chicken breast with rice and beans. You try it once and I promise it’ll be yours too! Must eat here..

I ordered for whole fried red snapper, when it served to us I smell it at far even the next customer smells it, it was like rotten fish, we refused to eat it but the server insisted that it was fresh. I told the server to put it away and I will pay for it, the server still insisted that it’s good, I will not eat fish that stink. After a few minute the lady server told us the fish not fully cooked/raw. I have been eating fish all the time and I know if if it rotten that fish they served to us was rotten, we ordered slow cooked roast pork for to go, now I have a doubt if that was good, we did not eat. My concern is if you know the food is not good/smell stinks do not serve it, and don’t argue with the customer and insist it is fresh, i could have had food poisoned if I eat that. Bad customer service it should be a zero star,

My wife and I were looking for a Puerto Rican restaurant while here in Jacksonville . We came across Palermo thru google search . The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was good . My wife had the catch of the day fish which was decent but lacked a decent side dish . I had the asopado de pollo y arroz and to be quite honest while the presentation was good the asopado lacked flavor and tasted more like tomato soup. Although I did not complain to the staff I left disappointed with the lack of flavor . This certainly was not what I expected . The overall experience was ok , but besides the lack of flavor the restaurant lacked something . I really can’t put my finger on it . Just not what I expected .

The food is amazing. Gotta give credit where credit is due… The place is always packed. But the staff knows it, so the attitude is heavy. If you can stomach the moody vibe, then the food should go down easy.

The food is great here. I've been a couple times and everything has been really good. The prices are little bit on the high side though and the service is a little bit slow. Overall it's really good and I'll be back again.

First time here. I love authentic, ethnic food of any kind. Top notch service. Have been on the fence about mofongo in the past. Love plantains, but my experience with mofongo has been so so. Palermo's trifongo was the literal best ever! I could have just eaten it and had a delicious dinner! Janice was so attentive as my waitress. Very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Ask for her when you come! Best Puerto Rican restaurant I've tried in the 25 mile area! Will be a regular here. Viva Palermo!! Give them a try..

I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!! I had the whole red snapper with tostones. Sooooo good!!! I’m addicted. Everything is amazing at this restaurant. I’ve had their rice and beans with the chicharon de pollo. Yum! Their pernil is sooo tasty. Can you tell I go there a lot! 😂. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re into Puerto Rican food.

Fantastic, Best Puerto Rican food in all of Orange park

Came yesterday for a meal with some friends. I had the Stuffed Chicken Breast while my wife had the Chicken cubes with some Chardonnay and Sangria. All we have to say is WOW. Delicious! We were left curious for more and will be back to try out some of their other options. On top of the amazing food, the waitstaff was phenomenal. Our server was caught up with some other tables but the other servers stepped him to help us with a smile on their face. Very impressed with this small hole in the wall. Not sure if it’s always busy, but it may be a little too loud for some who have sensitive ears.

Migdallia served us and what we can say is that she was amazing. Excellent customer service and as sweet as could be. Was quick with the food. The food was just amazing, delicious. Every time we go, Palermo never disappoints!

My husband and I were looking for something different and decided on some Puerto Rican cuisine. Service was fast and friendly, place was nicely decorated and clean. I ordered stuffed chicken breast with mofongo and yucca fries.. DELICIOUS! I ate every bite! Flavorful and filling! Hubby had fried pork chops with yellow rice and red beans. Rice and beans lacked little flavor and pork chops were not breaded which was a let down for hubby. Both dishes came with salad which was nice! Restaurant has a good variety on menu. Definitely will be back. Hubby will probably get my dish lol!

The trifongo was spectacular! My wish is more Boricua spots serve trifongo with a tender and juicy skirt steak 🥩 cut, and Palermo represented by one of the best waitresses I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, Taylor C., made my wish come true! I even got a couple of more banging Fania joints for my salsa 💃 playlist! And Taylor was helpful upgrading my editing tech stack! I’ll definitely see you next time I drive into Florida again.

This place was AMAZING! I went with my Puerto Rican friends who highly recommended so I trusted them. I got the grilled chicken stuffed with sweet plantains with beans and rice as a side and i was READY TO FALL ASLEEP! Everything was soooooo good! Oh and it's in the cut of the plaza, do you can only see it when you turn at the light where Dairy Queen is bc it's in the corner facing Dairy Queen.

Best place ever. Highly suggest coming here on weekdays as weekends can get very packed and wait times can be high. Food is amazing and staff is very nice.

I really enjoyed all the food, it was very delicious. I order Pernil and arros con gandules and my wife order mofongo con chicharrón. There was no disappointment in the food flavor and the service provided by the staff. I recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Puertorican food in Jacksonville area.

The food here was pretty good the portion sizes were very small but they were very expensive I didn't feel like I got enough food for $ $109 would I go again not really not sure if recommend. I guess $109is cheap I guess our waitress was nice

We ordered dinner on a Friday evening (today) about 6 p.m. After driving home 30 min we find the food terrible. The food was horrible, the chicken was not cooked as it should be. The arroz con gondules was soggy and had no flavor. I called the manager and she said bring the food back and then we will refund you. We had to drive 30 min back to bring them this food. The manager said she would not give us the money back that we had to wait 2-3 days. We paid with our debit card. Her brother came over and said we are having problems, we are not perfect. If you know that the food isn’t right, why do you serve it? We will not go back to eat here. When you pay 45.00 for a chicken breast and rice it better be top quality.

Palermo PR Kitchen is an absolute gem! Honestly one of the tastiest meals I can remember. The Mediterranean fish is perfection; so great I returned the next evening to experience it again. This is truly a special place. Excellent food. Excellent service that makes you feel “at home”. Five stars is not enough! Thank you to the chefs & staff for sharing your gifts with us!

We get take out from this location regularly but this was our first time dining in and I was not impressed. Right of the bat, the waitress stated my son couldn’t order off the children's menu, (he’s not a big eater and I don’t like wasting food so I just don’t understand that at all) even if I wanted to order off the kids menu as a full grown adult - what’s the big deal!? What if I wasn’t that hungry or couldn’t afford a full meal ? I hate that. I know it wasn’t her fault but someone should be aware- Also, when they came to give us our bill - the waitress never showed it to me - she just read off what we had ordered then gave me a price. Which luckily I asked her to look at it because she had added stuff to our bill that 1- she didn’t read out loud and 2 -we didn’t order! So I thought that was pretty shady - so make sure you’re looking at your bill prior to pay, then they hover over you while paying - I hate that too! Needless to say we will probably still do carry out because the food is pretty good but won’t be dining in.

Excellent excellent food, we ordered pernil asado with mash potatoes, those were to die for, my partner ordered creole shrimp with mofongo, excellent too, Ismael, our server was very attentive, professional, funny to interact with and made our meal more enjoyable. I will come back for sure.

I’m from out of town; Arizona. Used to live in Orange Park for 4yrs. Fell in love with the Latin food scene. Haven’t been able to find the same quality of food since I left. There was one place in Phoenix called the Cuban Cafe; it was good!!! Unfortunately, COVID-19 got the best of it. Well, I’m back in town. Told myself I can’t leave without getting some good food. My buddy Carlos told me about Palermo PR Kitchen during my last visit. I ordered to meals solely from the pics that came up during the Google search. OMG!!! They were SO GOOD!!! When I come back in town I will definitely be returning. Until then, I grabbed a meal for lunch, and one for dinner later!!! 😂😂😂

I went for the first time with my neice. What a great hidden gem. The server was fantastic explaining the dishes and I had the stuffed chicken with plantains and grilled vegetables it was amazing. I couldn't stop raving about it. My Neice has been here before and ordered the same meal too. I'll be back. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

Tried this place for the first time and fell in love! Very good dishes! We loved the mofongo with the pork!

First time coming here and the food was very good .. my wife had the chicken and rice very well seasoned and cooked perfectly.. I had the fried pork chops and rice with red beans and I must say I was disappointed with the pork chops it had no seasoning and was very bland in taste.. rice was a little over done .. but the bears were fantastic.. next time I will get the chicken and rice.

Well seasoned food. You have to a wait like 15 minutes, which the server mentions before hand, because the food is prepared fresh. And I attest to that, and that it's worth the wait. I'll be coming back.

I come here all the time with friends and we are always pleased beyond measure! The food is amazing, the workers are always hard workers. I love it so much that I brought my boyfriend of 5 months telling him I had something so special to show him because he's a foodie. ... I am so disappointed. I talked it up so much and to be let down by our server in such a way killed my thoughts about Palermo. I can no longer trust telling a friend that "I'm taking you to the best place in Jacksonville" Isabella took our order and brought our check and that's it. No service no checking if we had everything. Drink was empty for 16 minutes. Finally we had to flag down another waiter to bring us a refill. The woman who brought our food was less than happy to bring it. Then, we sit, finished with our meal for probably 10 more minutes ( in this restaurant the size of a living room) and she goes to her one table, prebuses one plate. Washes her hands. Repeat. Prbus one plate, take to the bus pan (1 PLATE!!) place it, wash her hands, and again over and over. She has one table other than us. Is there something against Americans here? I don't know why someone would go out of their way not to serve us. That's her job! Then when we started to get up she ran over to get us cashed out. So classless. She's just there to make money but doesn't care to work for it. I am so disheartened ill never be able to promise friends that I know the best spot anymore. And it was so close to our house! Sad day.

I wish this place was closer to my house! Everything was amazing. The Mofongo was some of the best, I have had outside of Puerto Rico. The morcilla was also equally as amazing. I have nothing bad to say about anything here. Next time I am on this side of town, I will definitely stop by even if it is just for a side of morcilla and mofongo. If you are reading this, definitely come check it out.

Absolutely fabulous food. It is very unassuming tucked away in a shopping complex. The food is savory and delicious. The service friendly and helpful with recommendations. I love the chicken stuffed with maduros. The tres leches may be one of the best I have tasted. Overall a great experience. I almost dont want to do a review because once word gets out, we wont be able to get a table. It is a hidden gem in Orange Park!

It was late and service was a bit slow but it was friendly and welcoming. The food was very good. It was very flavorful, well cooked and nicely presented. It is clear that they care about their food. The decor is simple and clean. I would definitely go back. The shrimp with rice and humus with flat bread were favorites. The boys loved the tres leches cake.

We were visiting Jacksonville FL and choose to eat at this restaurant. Let me start by saying everything we ate was delicious! The appetizer alcapurrias, relleno papa and pastel de carne delicious and fresh. I had the soup shrimp and my husband the chuleta cancan they were excellent and finally the crumbulee was very tasty! So I give this place more than 5 stars if I could of!
