Just stopped in for a slice. The pizza was excellent and the staff was very friendly while I waited for the pizza.

We are from out of state and found this restaurant via TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go. Love the old vintage atmosphere with original wooden floors, photos and vibe. Got a meatball sub small and the sauce, bread and meatballs were delicious and savory. Great prices - 2 of us ate for $22. Definitely worth a stop. It wasn’t busy but it was about 2 pm.

If you are dining on a budget look no further. Eggplant parmigiana with broccoli and garlic bread for 12.75. Enough said.

Garlic bread is good.eggplant is poor. Pesto has little taste. 4-5 ounce wine is $8 Tomatoe sauce is mediocre., Disappointing

The chocolate cake was the highlight, for sure, and well-worth the price. The spaghetti 🍝 with pasta sauce was good, but the alfredo sauce was flavorless and disappointing. Great service from the sole waitress working hard that evening.

Perfect place to get a lot of good Italian food for not too much money. Kind of a hole in the wall, but in a good way

They have good pizza and Alfredo, I wasn't a fan of their mozzarella sticks they were disappointing and I love mozzarella sticks.. I wish they had a kids menu though I had to get a pizza cuz that's what my son wanted to get so I just shared that instead of buying 2 separate whole meals when it was just myself and my 7 year old

We had dinner there little packed up stairs down stairs one party server was slow 35 minutes for appetizers, wine portions were very small for the price we paid we always go there this was the worst,

The chicken Alfredo had no sauce and used breaded chicken with all 3! What a disgrace!!!! You call yourself Italian! Let's show some pics of how terrible your so called Alfredo is! Even tipped 20 bucks!!!

I always come here when I visit Vermont. The seating area is limited, because it is not a chain restaurant, but the food more than makes up for it.

Big disappointment after reading positive reviews. We ordered chicken fettuccine that had no taste. Cooked pasta was tossed with cheese. And, eggplant parm which was 85% canned sauce and cheese. Eggplant was tough not cooked through before plating as a parm dinner. Very rubbery. Lack of taste and salt

Completely unprofessional. They had no food left at the height of dining hours. Appallingly bad. We wanted to try local food but who can when they can’t even feed the dinner rush?

I've been coming here since I was 7 when my family moved to Vermont. This place is a delightful, warm and friendly Italian restaurant that brings back memories and keeps serving delicious food! They work hard in their kitchen to put love into every plate and you can tell by the alway-full room of alway-happy customers that they're doing things right.

What a wonderful place with more than reasonable food prices. The food was very good and the beer was ice cold. This place is a hidden gem! Next time I am in the area I am definitely stopping by. Go early as parking is tough.

Points for being reasonably priced, good service, and location. Food has potential but elements can be executed better. Ordered a salad with chicken. The salad was a generous size, fresh, but the chicken was cold with soggy breading (it should have been grilled or fried again to give its crispness back. Alfredo was also lacking, seemed like the sauce was microwaved, bland and gritty- for an intalian place this is where it should have shined. Our wait staff was lovely though and pleasant, so can't falt them for the kitchen and quality.

Best Italian restaurant in the area

this Italian restaurant. Run by the family, it has very tasty food, I really enjoyed my dinner, a bit old in its decoration, but very good atmosphere and quite cozy, good service, very limited menu

parking is horrendous!!!! even paid parking was a flat fee of twenty dollars for two hours😮😮 we werent the only ones turned away by this. the restaurant was hot no ac and very cramped. the service wasn’t great as it to 15 minutes just to get our check. we barely saw our waitress but noticed the other waitress was running laps around our waitress. food was great with more than reasonable prices. the portions were also excellent. a small seemed more like a large. slightly disappointed they were out of root beer but no biggie. i would highly suggested take out if you’re going to eat here.

Tried to eat here on vacation. Keyword is “Tried”. We arrive 45 minutes before closing. Waitress stated that the kitchen was backed up so they were no longer seating customers. We drove 20 minutes to get there and paid $16 to park. My advice would be to call ahead and make sure they are still seating customers prior to your planned visit.

This is a solid choice, and great food for an even better price!

In the area and wanted to try this spot based on reviews and word of mouth. My girlfriend first called at ~8:32 pm and they said they stopped taking orders. I then called and they said “we stopped taking orders as we ran out of some of our pastas and sauce.” I asked what time they usually stopped and they said 9 pm. We decided to drive there. We saw patrons eating. We went inside. They then told us they had closed early as their “awning had broke and their front door wasn’t usable so [they] couldn’t have people walking in and out. However, we were able to use the side door. So which reason was it? We got three different ones! To be fair, the awning was broken but then why not just say on the phone that there was an issue and they had to close early? Why be unfriendly and say you ran out of types of pasta and sauce? Poor customer service which seems to match some of the other reviews on here.

Packed, told me 20 minutes and not only did I not get called they CLOSED THE DOORS and put the closed sign up. They just lost a loyal customer, for shame.

Came in to eat and the food was outstanding! My wife had the eggplant and I had the lasagna! The meal came with garlic bread that was cooked perfectly! The flavors of the meal were very delicious! Waitress was fantastic! The cooks were great! You want to get great Italian food at reasonable price! Go there and enjoy a small quaint atmosphere! Thanks again for the fantastic meal !

Delicious, classic pizza. I’m picky about my crusts and this definitely passes my standards with flying colors. Any pizza they make here is delicious and you really can’t go wrong. They’re so friendly and know how to make a good pizza.

I loved this place. It is very quaint, friendly, and the service was great. I would definitely eat here again. The food was good also, but could have been a little better.

A real old style place. It was packed solid for one hour at dinner time (5:30-6:45pm), then after 7pm there were tables available. Very pleasant & patient waitress since this was our first visit. We had a huge Sicilian pizza and a filling 12" personal pizza. Nice beer selection too. It was tough to find parking for our dinner.

Don't go anywhere else. Just don't bother. This is the best. Plenty of gluten free pastas for $1 extra, too.

Just a great place for an inexpensive Italian meal.

I came in Saturday with my buddy. Our server was a younger guy, probably the son of the owners due to his knowledge and passion. Gave us some great recommendations and was quick and honest. It was my first time and I'm glad we stopped. Food was delicious. I rarely tend to stay away from Burlington and Winooski but papa franks was worth the visit. I hope that server we had makes good money and and stays happy. Passion and happiness in the restaurant business is so rare. Thanks for having us!

I love coming here when I travel back to school, and each visit is just as amazing as the last. Super friendly staff, amazing and affordable food, and a really cozy atmosphere! I got a salad and a side of pasta w/meatballs, and both were absolutely amazing. I’ll be showing my roommates and friends this place for sure.

A recent dinner at Papa Franks was a thorough disappointment. The baked ziti was inedible…soggy noodles covered in soggy cheese. Had to send it back and settle for ziti with meat sauce which was just short of okay. Worse yet was the veal parmigiana which was also inedible…tough and overcooked. Will definitely not return.

My husband and I have frequented this little restaurant with my adult daughter and her children a number of times and sought it out on our recent trip because it brings back great memories. In addition, it has that home town atmosphere. The food is pretty good, the staff members are incredible. It is NOT upscale or fancy, but it it delightful. Give it a try!

Website said open until 9:00 PM on Friday, we showed up at 7:13 PM. Hand written sign on door said "Closing at 8:00 PM." Cook then yelled about how it wasn't busy all night and was openly belligerent about a crowd of people showing up all at once. He then said "we don't need people hanging around all night," while angrily looking at me and my date as we waited to be seated. Then the hostess came over and said she would not seat us and it was takeout only. We left happily, I wouldn't trust any food made by that angry belligerent cook.

This place is fantastic! I have lived in vt for 15 years and just found it. I'm very upset about that.

What can you say about a legend? Went there for my old favorite carbona. No disappointment at the same perfectly cooked pasta and savory sauce I've lived for decades. Cudos.

Heard an ad on the radio, decided to give it a try... They were very accommodating to a custom order. Pros: Good size portion Great price Fresh ingredients Pasta cooked perfectly Cons: Parking is worse than Burlington Dish was bland (needed salt among other things) Entrance is confusing Overall not bad, would definitely try it again but probably never will.

Casual atmosphere. Standard Italian fare. I had lasagna, my wife had fettuccine Alfredo. Generous portions for a good price. Not spectacular but satisfying. Our server, Anna, was terrific.

Whenever we come east we make a point to come here and have great Italian food. We had pizza and garlic bread (ooh yeah!) and take home manicotti for mom. If you're looking for a job their looking for cooks.

I wish I could say the food was good… but I didn’t get to eat it so I don’t know. We waited 20 minutes for our table to be ready at 7pm on a Friday night. Waitress seemed stressed so we just smiled and let them work on clearing the table. After 20 min, the tables cleared and ready. Another waitress comes up to us and says that we have to leave because they can’t seat anyone for the night and are running low on some items. No apology for wasting 20 minutes of our time, just a blank stare and “there are other restaurants that are open”. They’re still taking to go orders from the register and sat four people who came after me. Beyond annoyed and a waste of money for parking. Too bad because the food looked good. Not upset that they were busy, upset that they made us stand there for 20 minutes and waited on everyone else.

Eggplant parm & spag+meatballs were fabulous! Stopped there because of Yelp reviews Want to spread the word to Google. Don’t be put off by street appearance. Great Italian!!!

THE BEST Pepperoni pie I've had in Vermont!

It's quite easy to locate using gps. The meat lovers pizza was one of the best i've ever had at a good price, with a cozy vintage atmosphere. It's worth a visit

This restaurant is right off the main street in Winooski. It's not that big but we went early and had no problem getting a table. The place filled up a little later. Looked like a local favorite. Very friendly staff. Food was served nice and hot. Nice size portions. Quality of the food was good.

Just had Papa Frank’s for the first time. Being Italian myself, this was excellent and authentic spaghetti with meat sauce! Food was still HOT when I got home. Also ordered a mini cannoli as well, best I’ve ever had! The aluminum take out plate was STUFFED, so the prices were surprisingly low for the amount of food you get. I’ll definitely be going back!

Wow! It was great. Excellent food and a wonderful server. My wife is a garlic bread aficionado and said it was some of the best ever. .

Consistently good Italian. Unpretentious and cozy. No fancy food and wine but you never leave unsatisfied. They're lasagna is so good I never bothered to make it myself.

Just had Papa Frank's for the first time. Can't believe that it took me so long to discover this place. Noodles and sauce were among the best I have ever had. Not to mention the pie and garlic bread. 5 star food for sure!

Ordered a large team meal and they were super accommodating. Food was great and everyone I dealt with was incredibly nice and helpful!

Very busy restaurant. Ordered by phone and picked it up. Got home and the food was still hot enough to be gingerly handled.(that is too say HOT) There was a good amount for the price and it was very good. The staff were busy but attentive. If you're looking for bang for your buck, this is the place to go. Good food at good prices and plenty of it! I recommend this restaurant if you want an excellent Italian experience.

We always have outstanding service, plentiful servings, and delicious home-cooked italian meals @ Papa Frank's!! Great value and comfortable surroundings, and easy to get to - even with snow banks all around after a storm!!
