Great new haven style pies out of Milford. Pick up only at the location I visited. Great tasty pies with many options cooked to perfection. I'd recommend the shrimp and bacon. 🥓

By far the BEST pizza in town! I live across town (near West Haven) and get my pizza here every single time! All their specialty pies are OFF THE CHARTS amazing - love the sauce on the pies!!! Stacy who works typically on Fridays, is by far the nicest, friendliest, and best server at the window!!! They are all great people but she makes the visit even more special as she engages with each and every customer that comes by to pick up their orders! LOVE LOVE LOVE Papa's Pizza on Naugy Ave!!!!

I had the gluten free pizza and aside from being delicious, it was truly gluten free, no cross contamination. No issues. Good job guys!

I tried Papas because that idiot Dave Portnoy went there and gave them an 8.2. I thought the pizza was really good. Good sauce however the crust was really crunchy. A bit more than I like. But, there’s no disputing this is really good pizza. Worth a 20+ minute trip.

Pizza is always great. They can stop taking orders pretty early, especially on weekends when they are slammed with phone orders. Call early, like 3:30, if you want for 5 or 5:30

Window service only at this take out pizza and pasta place. Very good New Haven style pizza for create your own combos. Also interesting specialty pies that have thicker crusts, Naples style? Pies are made to order with particular care to specifics. Have had both kinds and find them equally tasty. Orders have been correctly prepared and ready at promised time on both my visits.

I've been a return customer for about 10 years. Unfortunately, my experience today convinced me not to return. This is a top dollar location. Today I paid the most money I've ever spent here, received the least amount of food ever and it was poorly assembled to boot. Gone are the days of a pizza that just.barely fits into the box. My large pizza was small, oddly shaped and oddly cut. The two meatball cones I ordered were served in old bread and with half the number of meatballs I've come to expect. Didn't bother calling to complain because it's over an hour round trip. I hope this is just a one off, but I won't ever come back to find out.

So….. Just picked up my pie. Got to say, today’s order was not a vibe. I had to season my pie today with garlic and Italian seasoning for flavor. Not typical when ordering. The flavor wasn’t there the last two times I ordered. 🤷

I have to been to many places and by far I would have to say this is one of the best I have ever had it outclassed everyone everything was fresh and made iwith perfection. Service was great and quality was even better. I am going to try their cone grinder for a new experience.

Cute place, no line. Placed an order at the window and was ready quickly. Dave Portnoy gave this a good review. Meets New Haven pizza standard. I would say for those passing through the area without much time, but interested in authentic flavor, this is a good spot for takeout.

3 hour wait time to pick up a pizza..? I understand you can be busy but this is unheard of. Next you people will say you have to make reservations to place the call to pick up a pie. Hire more staff, no pizza is this good. Very inefficiently run business

We got a tomato pie ... Still is the standard to me. It's we go to New Haven, we will add this to the trip, even if it's out of the way.

I'm not sure why I have never left a review for my favorite pizza place I've been coming to for 22+ years but I wanted to rectify that. This is by far the best pizza in the local area on par in my opinion with Sally's and modern.

Have been a papas fan for years, but this cheese I just got (6/16/23) was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Better than recent pizzas from Wooster street. Can’t go wrong here!

I was absolutely blown away by their eggplant pizza. Lots of times you get frozen flash fried eggplant at pizza places, not here. Definitely home made. big slices perfectly fried. Hands down the best.

This is a takeout review. All food is eaten promptly in the vehicle. I had the side of meatballs and a pepperoni pizza. The meatballs were OK. They were large, tender, and moist. But they were a bit on the salty side. The pizza was excellent. Very nice crust with a little bit of char, chewy with a nice touch of crisp on the bottom. Great sauce with the right ratio of cheese on top. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 9.1.

Our original food order for an event never arrived. We called Papa's Pizza and they bailed us out big time. 15 pizzas were ready within an hour. Not only did they come through, but ended up being some of the best pizza I've ever had.

This place is my FAVORITE for pizza in all of New Haven county!!!! Highly recommended. They cook the crust just right and use the perfect amount of cheese. I'm second generation Italian and this place is top of the line!!

Great pizza. I try to use them often but always end up going somewhere else because they don’t answer! It’s 7:10pm, they close at 8pm, and all I get is their answering machine saying they’re closed. Third time in a row this has happened. Very annoying.

I haven’t done a review of Papa’s Pizza in a long time so, this is an update. You will notice the rave reviews and they are deserved. It’s hugely popular with local people (and further). It’s no secret why folks gush over this place. They use very good ingredients and they cook the pizza New Haven Style. It’s a winning formula. You get a lot of bang for your buck. If you haven’t tried it yet you should.

From a Celiac, this is the Best Gluten Free Pizza I have ever had in my life! It is 14 inches and comes in a large pizza box. I got a plain cheese (it was still good even without any toppings) and the white clam, they were both fantastic! Almost cannot even tell it is a Gluten Free Pizza, will be my go to place for Gluten Free Pizza! Papa's has it spot on to a New Haven Pizza!!

I've had the same pizza from Papa's since I was a kid. Been eating there foe 22 years now and sometime the consistency varies but the flavor, quality, and friendliness are always the same. The pizza is and will always be the best in my book. Their cone grinder are HUGE and packed with whatever fillings you want. Small local business that is worth the wait and the prices.

Stopped off while getting work done on car, gentleman working was so nice! Couple of delicious meatballs later, I will be back for pizza!

I grew up around the corner and have had their apizza since they opened in the mid eighties and I've always loved their pie. I put it on par with the more well known greats in New Haven. Definitely the best in Milford. Always great.

Some of the best pizza I've ever had. My family has gotten papas pizza every Sunday for years and they never disappoint. Friendly staff, incredible pizza - there's not much else left to say.

I've had pizza here in this state at Pepe's, Sally's, Bella Napoli, Tolli's, Minervini's, DiPalma's, John & Maria's, Anniello's, LoMonico's, DelMonico's, Zuppardi's, Rosso Vino's, Consiglio's, Costa Azzura, Luna Azzura, and about forty others in this state. I've had pizza in Wash, DC, New York City, Chicago, and in 42 other United States, even Hawaii! And Alaskans are not big pizza eaters. If you didn't notice, I'm a pizza nut. I'm also Italian (Mario Francesco Bonfiglio) and I've had pizza in Rome, Naples, Venice, San Marino, and in Florence (Italy). FYI I'm not being paid for this endorsement - PAPA'S PIZZA BEATS ANY OTHERS BY FAR and I will not order pizza from anyone else. So, please don't ever close, or I'll have to go back to Pescara, Italy, where I was born.

I personally think it's the best in milford I think gigi's is a very close second. But papas is new haven style pizza really really good we've been getting it once a week for years only thing is wish they delivered. But it's so worth the 2 min drive it's the cheese the sauce and the dough that really make. We def give it 5 stars for number 1 in milford. They also make great salads and meals but for the meals we go to gigi's its outstanding Italian food. Very traditional food excellent tasting food. We love going there as well once a week

Papa's pizza is the best pizza around in my opinion. I relocated to Ga. 2 years ago and when I come to Ct. for work or to visit family I always make it a point to go to Papa's and get a pizza.

Good, solid Pizza. Good char and nice big bubbles, but next time I'll ask for a bit more time in oven, personal preference. My first visit, I got a plain with parmesan. No sag, good fresh tomato sauce, not what I'd call thin crust though, yet still very good. Will return to try a few with toppings. Definitely a cut above most of the other places nearby.

Better than pepes we live in Fl now and go back to Ct in June. Can't wait to bite into Papa"s pizza. God I wish they were here in Fl. Simply the BEST pizza!!!!

Best pizza in CT and beyond. Have ordered almost everything on the menu over time, but the pizza is the star. My favorite is shrimp parm (Pizza de Luigi) but any toppings are good with this great crust and sauce. Russ is a nice guy, and he has a well trained staff. Stop in at Papa's II And see Wayne for a Cone Grinder. Always a smile with your food.

Russ the owner is a wonderful guy the pizza is great just as is its great at Papa’s Pizza 2 can’t go wrong. The difference between Papa’s Pizza 1 and Papa’s Pizza 2 is Papa’s Pizza 1 has a full kitchen and is able to cook a wider variety of items.

Ordered takeout while at the beach for a long weekend based on previous reviews. Was excellent. Ordered four different pizzas with a variety of ingredients plus a gluten-free pizza and everyone loved them. Amazing crust, good sauce, generous toppings. If we return to Milford we will definitely get Papa's Pizza for dinner one night.

moved to Milford 6 months ago. could not find a decent pizza!! went sightseeing one day and spotted sign "papa pizza" so i gave it a try. BINGO!! GREAT PIZZA. take out only though.

We don't now if it's the cheese or the thin "burnt" crust, but the Naugatuck Avenue Papa's is still the best in the area ... we haven't ordered from here in a while, trying other pizza joints in the area -- and after more than a year of eating inferior pizza from local pizza places, this one for take out is the best. There are no tables to eat in and don't expect to be told "your pie will be ready in 20 minutes", expect more like 90 minutes if you call after 6 PM ... 60 minutes if you call at 5:30. Long wait times so you have to call first!

Took longer then they saId it would and the place is a little run down, but...... It was one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. The plain was above average. The onion and bacon took it to the next level. Cooked just right, crispy bacon and onion with delicious sauce and just enough cheese. The crust charred a bit which was ok with. Tell your friends, I did. 🍕👍oh and that 1st bite was heaven.

The Pizza is good. The people are nice. That being said whoever has instituted charging the customer their visa fee has lost a customer. That fee is the cost of doing business and you should never put that on the customer for already expensive pizza. So beware if you get pizza and need to pay with card they will charge you a percent that the business should pay.
