I ordered delivery through door dash. The food was cold. Toast burnt and no butter. Hash browns always taste bland like they don't put any seasoning on it or not enough.

I expected a good diner experience from the reviews. Our bacon not cooked completely my eggs cold my husband had egg shells in his egg sandwich...I'll leave it at that

I ordered potatoes cooked hard. They came out blacked and chared. They also had a strange consistency. I just did not like them.

Hands down some of the best food I have ever had, and I couldn't possibly tell you why. Staff is always friendly, even when they're tired after a rush. I'm gonna be coming here for a long time.

Top notch food, pleasant atmosphere and normally great service, unfortunately my last visit I had very poor service. I will return and hopefully that particular server will be employed elsewhere.

We recently visited the Parthenon Dinerand was thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The prices were fair, and the diner was spotlessly clean. Overall, a fantastic dining experience at a great diner that I highly recommend.

Kids had the Oreo pancakes we had gyros and mozzarella breadsticks. Everything was spot on. Great portion sizes and reasonable prices. Solid spot!

The food was delicious. We had French onion soup, Philly French Dip and the sampler platter. The service was great! Very friendly. Very clean. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be back!

Edited to respond to owner! If I could go lower, I would! The food was downright awful. The order was messed up multiple times. They never came over to offer us drinks before we ordered our food. We ordered simple breakfast sandwiches. I'd not recommend ever going here! And everyone got sick 😫 🤒 🤢 Since you asked! My Bacon Egg n cheese on a hardroll was 1 delivered to me on toasted bread. When it was corrected, the bacon was chewy and rubbery, and the eggs were overcooked. My wife ordered a bacon egg and cheese on sourdough bread, and it tasted like grease and oil. Our drink order for the special jameson Coffee seemed to have confused staff. My home fries tasted like cabbage and corn beef. My cousins chicken tenders tasted like fish. When we were ready to leave, we needed to flag down the staff to get the check. I think that about covers it! With that being said, we will not be returning!

Great diner. Great food. Excellent Eggs Benedict. Huge place, every parking spot was full. Walked in the front door and was seated immediately. Staff were all over us. Since we go to the shoreline all the time, this is our new goto place for breakfast

This was a good sized diner in Old Saybrook, where we stopped for an early dinner. The food was good, reasonably priced and filled our bellies well. The staff were warm, nice and friendly and the service was prompt.

Big place, nice booths. Bright with big windows. Typical diner service and big menu. Food average. Baked goods for sale look good. Good for families.

I go 'back and forth' on this place...this time, 'forth'. My server couldn't have been nicer. Typical Greek diner menu selections. I had the tenders (hard to go wrong there), loaded with fries and an odd (but not bad) tasting slaw. It is dependable, if not impressive, but it has a nice diner vibe.

this restaurant is usually my go-to, but tonight i spend $35 on food for my partner and myself and: 1. the food is completely wet/soggy 2.the fries in the order are not cooked/still raw at the end of the day i understand that you want to make money- but to charge people full price on raw wet food is crazy- i might as well eat canned dog food. because thats what was served. i shouldn’t have to cook my food to ensure that is prepared correctly- this service was sloppy. this also is not the first time the service was sloppy, but this really pushed me off the edge.

Great wait staff. HUGE menu. Classic diner food, mostly quite good. Chicken breast was dry and not much flavor. Also, noticed that the take out version of the Greek vegetarian platter is slightly less quantity than eating in the restaurant. YMMV. Spanikopita is delicious.

I have traveled across this beautiful country eight times and this diner is one of the finest I’ve ever come across. It’s immaculately clean and the sense of love and family welcomes you as soon as you walk in and the experience, for me, was like a nice slice of Americana just perfect for this holiday. Such wonderful people. The deserts will have you salivating at the door. EnJOY!

I ordered the 27.00 prime and really didnt like it. It just didnt taste right. My kids had burgers and apps and loved it

I've been to Parthenon multiple times, and the food is always great! I have gotten simple sandwiches, full entrees, and Greek items. For such a large menu, everything always tastes fresh and the food comes out pretty fast. I like getting an entree because you get the soup before, plus a dessert after. When getting takeout, I love the Torino Panini because it travels well and is great left over! This is a great place for a quick bite, a family stop, or takeout!

Two out of three meals, the food came out cold. Portions were good service was extremely extremely slow specially, considering that they were not very busy at all when we visited at dinner time. I have been to their other site in the past in Branford, and it was excellent service and excellent food. We were told this place had excellent food, but we’re extremely disappointed.

My go-to diner when I want to also take a ride down to the shore. Easy to get to from Rt. 9 or I-95. Classic Greek diner. I go here a few times a month.

Lovely local diner- we visited while traveling and they were wonderful. Very accommodating to my two toddlers and food was great. Staff was very friendly and treated everyone like family.

The place is clean and inviting. The food was good. I had the short rib dinner with a baked potato and corn. My meal could have been a little hotter. It was medium warm, but I didn't send it back. The corn was tasteless, it seemed like it sat in the water a little too long. My boyfriend had the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn. He said his was very good and agreed about the corn. His came with soup or salad and a dessert. Definitely a good value. All in all the price was reasonable and the food was okay. I think I would return but if my food was lukewarm again I would send it back.

We have been coming to this diner for decades. There is a particular staff member who has been there since we first started coming in. He is one of the nicest gentlemen I’ve met. Always in a cheerful mood and remembers everyone. This is the perfect small town, family friendly diner.

Food is usually on point, friendly staff. I usually get the Mac 'n' cheese bites and a salad with shrimp. FYI they do not have Italian dressing. They also have a punch card that for every 10 visits you get a little discount off your meal ♥

Love this diner for It's easy in and out location, friendly, smiling, courteous staff and usually always great food... Then they tease you by having to walk by the homemade dessert case... If I don't have something at the table we usually end up taking something home for later ❤️

Parthenon Diner was spectacular. The food was excellent at a very good price. We actually wished that we had eaten every meal there while we were in that part of Connecticut. Our server was a young Spanish girl and it's killing me that I can't remember her name because she was superb. Give Parthenon a try and you will love it like we did. After a drive through New York, we stopped at the Parthenon Diner of Old Saybrook. It is everything one would expect from a New England diner and more. The decor is true to form. The meals were exactly what we expected, and the portions were hardy. Friendly waitress. Accommodating staff. Try it, you won’t be dissatisfied.

I've had this spot on my list for a year, and my husband and I finally made our way up for Mother's Day! I hate to give this place a 4 because it was everything we hoped for. The prices were so reasonable and the food was absolutely delicious. We wanted to try everything. My husband has been dying for steak and eggs, and he was in love with his meal. My food was also everything I hoped for and enough to bring home for at least 1 more meal. Unfortunately, the one thing I don't care for are partially scrambled eggs. If I ask for scrambled, I don't want to see half white in my eggs. I'm sorry, and they were what I would call wet. Almost cooked but not quite. Other than that, the staff was awesome. The atmosphere was old world dinner, which was awesome, and we loved the outdoor patio. Definitely going again.

This place is ALWAYS CONSISTENTLY DELICIOUS! The menu selection is OUTSTANDING. The staff is kind, friendly, helpful & efficient. I have had the BLTA, Omelettes, Hungry Man Breakfast. All EXCELLENT. Thorough accurate preparation, fresh quality ingredients, fresh from the kitchen with timely delivery! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Food is great, service is fast. Wait staff is hit or miss. Atmosphere is good, large windows. Corned beef hash is homemade. If you want a meal and be in and out fast, this is your place. Right in center of town on Rt.1

This was just not good, bacon greasy, eggs barely warm and toast barely toasted. And the order was screwed up to boot. Also had meatloaf that was burned and had no taste at all. Prices also far out of line.
