Very nice atmosphere Wonderful customer service 👏 👌 👍 You receive your food on-time even if the restaurant is busy! And last but not least the amazing is amazing:o. Not sure if they still do it here but they use to have karaoke night! If they still do that a lot of customers would want to rush over especially if there are talented singers singing!

I went here for a first date and it could not have gone better. The service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was cozy and tight-knit. Our server was constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything. The food was just as good and authentic Brazilian. Couldn’t have found a better spot!

I loved the food, very good size and excellent price. A very cozy atmosphere, our waiter was attentive to every request, his name is Tomas, very friendly by the way. I will surely return!

Not sure when this changed but I've been getting the garlic chicken breast platter for years. It was always enough chicken for my small family until my last visit. Three little chicken breast over a pan full of rice is far from a platter and the portion size provided in the past. Lost a valued customer here

The next time a person that comes in to pick up and order. Rude workers looking You up and down speaking in Spanish not thinking I don't understand.. really should watch what you say and how you look at your customers

Pickup order was told 30 minutes waited for 50 minutes. Cheesestake barely had steak. Use to be a good steak when the original Paulo owned the place. Have not order for well over a year because the steak was not good last time. Nothings changed.

Had a great first experience here. My wife and I came here for my birthday and it did not disappoint! We both did the Rodizio, and when I tell you EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!!? Yeah, EVERYTHING was great.....we had an appetizer shrimp in a red garlic sauce, and our waiter Thomas (who was absolutely AMAZING) suggested that we hold on to that sauce and use it to dip some of our meats.....bruhhhhh Thomas was on point!!! Most of these meats needed nothing regardless because they were tender and seasoned to perfection, but WOW, the sauce took a lot of them OVER THE TOP! This place was an 8.5 out of 10....the ONLY complaint were the sides....they weren't anything to talk about...but did you come for the sides? NOPE! We came for the meat sweats....and we got it...💯💪🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Our bus boy I believe his name is Jose he was very attentive to our tables cleanliness .The restaurant staff was very friendly and I love how everyone had a smile on their faces. The place is very pleasant, food was Great. The service was extraordinary, server Tomas was very attentive and oriented details, Jose the bus boy was always picking up our plates and very attentive to cleanliness. I think Tomas and Jose are amazing and makes a good team. I definitely come back and I will ask for these two kids to be my servers.

Service is excellent and food is amazing. Rodizio is a must! Unfortunately things have changed. I've been going here for eight years and over the last year, the rodizio has taken a bad turn. Two weeks ago I ordered medium rare and everything was well done, so most of it was pushed aside and wasted. I will not be back & am very sad about this. The price is too much to not get what you ask for. 6/'24 I've been off & on abt Paulos for a few years, but they finally seem to have gotten it together. The last 3 visits I've made over the last 6 mos were much improved and consistent. Service was good, food delicious, and the seating was to my liking as we didn't have to sit near the loud music. If you like that kind of thing, they have music some nights :). Had the garlic shrimp for the first time and it was delicious.

The best service, I don’t have nothing to complain, all workers were so polite and helpful. Best food, best bartender, and Ricardo was the best guy and paid attention to me and my friends.

Paulo's was a wonderful delight. Thomas went far and beyond as our waiter. The food was fantastic. My husband and I loved all the aspects of this restaurant. We will be back to enjoy another dinner at Paulo's.

I very rarely do reviews but I’ve been getting food from this place since I was 18.. since then, they’ve got new owners, and it’s even better than it used to be. Food is great, service is phenomenal, and the people who work here really make you feel like family. I’ve taken everyone I love, to this place, and have never been disappointed. Very special shout out to Ricardo, Matthew, and Tom for always making sure me and my people are taken care of. If you’re looking for a restaurant with not just great food, but a restaurant that actually cares about their customers, this is the place you need to go to. Sending all the love and success ❤️

If you’ve never been to a place where absolutely nothing that hits your plate disappoints, this is the spot to go to that will change that. Get the rodizio. The blend of Brazilian and Portuguese is on fire. The house-made hot chili oil and hot sauces are fantastic as well. No need for steak sauce when the meat is that good, but a little heat always takes it up a notch. The ‘top shelf” sangria is too good - dangerous- none for the driver. Service is just as good as the food, at least when we were there on a Saturday night; management (Tom) is highly attentive. Can’t recommend enough!

The food was excellent but the service was terrible, not even a glass of water was offered to us.

Our server Tomas was great. We were a big party and he kept checking in and making sure everything was good. We ordered clams casino, garlic shrimp and clams in garlic, but that one was on the salty side. Majority of the tabled ordered the rodizio which came with fries, rice beans and two other sides.

Today I had the opportunity to come to this place and the food was incredible it’s a quiet place, my waitress Alis was very nice and special with us

I recently visited the establishment for the first time and had a generally positive experience. Our party consisted of four individuals, and we arrived early with the intention of socializing at the bar prior to our meal. The bartender/barmaid/barperson/whatever, whose name I regrettably cannot recall, provided excellent service and contributed to an enjoyable atmosphere. While the majority of our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals, one individual expressed dissatisfaction with the flank steak, describing it as excessively tough. Conversely, I personally found the garlic shrimp to be delectable. Overall, I would confidently recommend this establishment to others based on my experience.

I don’t normally do reviews but this place is truly great. The food was amazing and the portions were great, plus the price of everything was so reasonable compared to other restaurants nowadays. The service Alis gave us was very attentive and nice. We were well taken care of during our time here. Bathrooms were very clean. Overall def recommend coming here with family or for a date night. The drinks 🥃 were well priced and very good!!

My familia and I had the rodizio. The variety and taste of meat was great. They would ask you wat temperature you wanted the meat and which one you wanted more the service was fantastic and very friendly. One of our servers, Guillermo was attentive and asked us what we wanted and would bring it. The atmosphere feels relaxing and welcoming. And then to top it off they give you roasted cinnamon pineapple for dessert. I really liked it. We have been to many rodizo, but by far this was one of our favorites. I had a caprihna drink and it was good. As you can see, my cup is empty :)

My friends, my husband and I regularly come to dinner here but this time the service was slower than normal, we ate the rodicio and the fish was raw, the waitress did not come to ask if we needed anything, regularly at the end they offer you coffee or dessert and they never came to ask us, the truth is today the service was terrible

It was very peaceful being outside the service was awesome and the food even better. Alice is a great waitress recommend having her as a server.

Generally I like the food although a bit pricier that it deserves. I would say, any service is proven by the way it handles its inefficiency and desire to make their patrons feel appreciated. I ordered pork ribs rice and beans, chicken and plantains. Although the rice and chicken was favorable. The ribs and beans had a soured taste and smell. I called for a refund and a new order was offered. I declined. I just wanted a refund of only the soured dishes. The responsible party could not appreciate my reluctance to ordering MORE of the food that smelled and tasted old although insisting freshness. This caused me to distrust the restaurant's genuine concern. It was told to me that I would need to bring in my receipt for a refund. When I did, they declined to honor their word stating I would have to get a refund from the organization that delivered the food to me. As I left the restaurant the staff proceeded to snicker and scoff. I cannot, in good conscience, offer a good review or endorse Paulo's BBQ to my large business and personal circles based upon my experience. I would warn the wary. It seems that all the pleasantries expressed means zero (0) If one only practices this for a few bucks.. sad.

It was my first time here, and I decided to try the rodízio. The meat is overly seasoned with salt in my personal opinion. I requested that my beef be cooked rare; however, it was often unavailable at tableside. I enjoyed the picanha and chicken hearts the most. Servers were polite. Restrooms were very clean. Update 05 April 2024: I returned. The food was perfect and cooked as I requested. Less salt was used.

I recently attended this location for a 92nd birthday party for my grandmother.. And I must say I was very underwhelmed.. We had an incompetent Bartender*, who was not very happy. She Did not smile once.. Very stingy with the appetizers.. And when they served us our main course the beef was so tough. It is still stuck in my teeth. Nobody from the staff was happy at all, they looked like mobsters.. You would think somebody would at least say hello.. Bartender* was unprepared and would leave the function for 30 minutes at a time.. I don’t think we would’ve been treated the same way if our ethnicity was different.. This is the 100% truth.. I do not recommend this spot for a birthday event if you are African-American.

Paulo’s BBQ is a hidden gem catering to the South Plainfield community. The food is fresh and delicious, and the drinks, particularly the spicy mango margarita, is a MUST. The manager, Matheus and his exceptional stsff exceed expectations to ensure every visit is memorable and pleasurable. If you find yourself in the area, don't hesitate to give this place a chance. You'll leave satisfied, guaranteed.

Amazingggg restaurant, especially for some authentic Brazilian/Portuguese food. A whole lot of options to choose from. Very nice staff especially the general manager Matheus , he took very good care of us this Easter Day. Definitely recommend Paulo’s BBQ.

Have been going to this location for several years from the initial management to the current management and the food is a delicious as before, with more meal choices and drinks.

The food here is great. I will be back as much as I can to try as much on the menu as I can, so I tried the sausage and the paella next time I'll try the sea bass. But the sausage and the paella 🥘 were great the place had good customer service and the tables were set up great and there is enough parking. So remember, come to Paulos and try the food is great.

Really good, usually I come here every week or so.. I get the rodizo which is amazing all different cuts, different varieties. Also get the passion fruit sangria which is 10/10 so would so recommend. All the sangria are good but my fav is that one. Parking they got but sometime it gets full, but they got extra parking next door so all good…

Went there group of 4, first time , it was great tbh didn’t expect it to be better than more expensive Rodizio spots I’ve been too, the meat was great quality, we all left happy. Also got sangria pitches make sure to get the top shelf one . Will definitely return thank you.

The meats was coming faster than I could eat it, and the pineapple was excellent at the end of the meal.

If you want an argument with the manager just go there atmosphere was loud tight fit food was below average place is overrated I will never go back and will never recommend this place to anyone

The ribs were the most meaty and tenderest ribs. I've had in a long time. It was so succulent. I look forward to going back again and again. and the service was superior

I've had take out and in resturant 2x. This lunch was chicken with rice & fries.Why 2 carbs I don't know. How about a veggie. Their food is Soooo salty and they use MSG.The rice was crunchy and dry tasted old, and fries were soggy, even though this was lunch time. This was my last time going to Paulos

Ordered two steak sandwiches and one chix sandwich, plus 3 desserts. The sandwiches were awful. All bread and no meat. Poorly executed all around. Fries soggy. Order was $65 for take out. No itemization. One could spend that amount and get a better meal at any number of other places. Beware.

Phenomenal meal. I've eaten at many similar places, and the food here was top-notch. The staff was great. I'll definitely be going back. Picanha is what I had. Sangria was flowing, and so were the good times. I'm usually down neck in Newark, but trust me, no need to travel that far if you're in the area. Enjoy. Sorry, there are no photos. All you would have seen was an empty plate anyway.

The lady was rude when I picked up my order . She had an attitude because I wanted my change and when I opened my platter the fries were soggy because they put garlic sauce all over the platter . Ask yourself who wants soggy fries

This place takes reservations which is a plus. The atmosphere is perfect to take a hot date(my wife) with the lighting and music. Sangria was top notch. Had the rodizio platter with steak sausage chicken. Cooked to perfection! All very delicious! Already thinking about getting a chicken/rib combo tray next week!

Four of us, "Turtle Sisters" met for a reunion. I have had take out before but DINE-IN was superb!!! The appetizers, the entrees, the desert, the beverages and the STAFF were so attentive and mindful of our needs. We will all be recommending this to our friends and families. Thanks for the service. I was searching for a local restaurant to host a surprise dinner celebration for a party of 20. I hadn’t been here before but someone recommended it and glad they did! I spoke to the manager Matheus to make the reservation, and he was extremely nice, gave all the details of what they could do for us, and even followed up with me after our phone call to answer a question I had. The restaurant itself is very clean and elegant, and they were able to set up a wall divider for our large group and 2 toddlers which was great to let them have space away from the main area of the restaurant and made our visit much more pleasant. Everyone ordered something different from the steak sandwich to the paella and everyone was very happy with their meal. Sangrias were delicious! The food came out very quickly especially considering we were a big group. The best part of all was the service- Isabella and the other servers were extremely attentive, friendly, and efficient. She had a smile the whole time and was so patient, especially with the little ones! This was the best experience I’ve had at a restaurant with a large party, by far. Highly recommend!

My husband and I have been coming here for a few years now and love it. The sangria is so good. I highly recommend their skirt steak. The chicken hearts are also a great appetizer. Every time we go there we have a great time, the food is so delicious, parking is not a problem. If you want to stay local, definitely go here, you won’t regret it. My family has been coming here for the past 20 years, and I continue to come here with my husband.
