My family has been talking about this place for a very long time... I was starting to think it was a tall tale... until I was finally able to stop here. When you first walk in it's very welcoming and brightly rustic. The staff and other customers were wonderful during our time there. We opted to sit in the restaurant area; a quaint area with a salad bar, I knew then that this place was going to be awesome! I tried the "famous in my family" fresh chicken fingers... they lived up to the hype! Lightly coated with an amazing batter that's not thick or heavy. The chicken cooked to perfection, tender and juicy... a perfect paring! Then there's the honey mustard, that stuff should be illegal it's so good! I know, it's a condiment, but I'm telling you... it needs it's own category. It's sticky, sweet with just the right amount of mustard flavor and tang. You can purchase the honey mustard to go too... and you bet I bought some to bring home. If you're in the area, and you like hidden gems that are super low-key in the best way, I highly recommend stopping by. The staff/owner/other customers made our stop even more enjoyable... and when they would come to our table they included my children as well instead of talking just to the adults, (and were patient with them) which I loved! I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

I love this little bar & grill! You will feel right at home in this friendly & very casual atmosphere. The food is good & consistently delicious! I do recommend any breakfast items. The Friday Fish is good & Saturday Prime Rib is awesome! Chicken tenders are hand breaded & delicious.

Kinda small, definitely came at dinner rush. Small but mighty soup,salad and potato bar. They have a build your own burger with 4 toppings with a large variety to pick from. The chicken and wild rice soup was some of the best I have had. All the potatoes were super yummy. Definitely will be coming back.

Had the Friday night buffet...19.99 dollars per person... the salad was anything but fresh... there was about 4 pieces of fish that was soggy and about 20 popcorn shrimp... some dried up lasagna about 3 pieces, the roast beef was good as well as the baked chicken... plenty of that.. the mashed potatoes were good to... the gravy... well... it was so thick and not fresh... this was my first and last time to go there... bummer... for 19.99 you expect way better.

Cash Only, fyi. Cute, quaint, place full of a lot of locals. We came in here on a Sunday around 11:00. We were greeted immediately by Peggy. She was amazing. The service was excellent, prices very reasonable, and the Bloody Mary was perfect! This place has a great vibe to it. Highly recommended. PS, if Peg's reads this, we shorted you on your tip because we didn't realize you were cash only. We will definitely make up for it next time we come back! 🥰

Went for fish fry buffet. Got last 3 pieces of fish in pan, and they were slightly warm. Pan was never refilled, so tried chicken, it was cold but a new pan was brought out and it was good. Servers need to concentrate on checking for food drying out, becoming cold, or needing to be restocked.

Great food and friendly service. You won't find typical bar food from a freezer truck here, it's vittles made with heart. Peg is a great cook and Sissy takes good care of the customer. We'll definitely be back.

Great place to stop and get some great home cooking. Sissy was great and made us feel at home. The goulash was just like my grandma used to make, delicious! Very reasonable prices also. Can't wait to stop in and try the prime rib.

Love it at Pegs. Best salad bar! Delish walleye and prime. Healthy pours. Nice people run this place. If you go, you will feel welcome because you are a welcomed guest. We drive over an hour to go here. No kidding. They have outside tables if you have a dog, they can be on leash with you. So nice in Spring, Summer and Fall. We have an RV and hope Peg becomes a member of Harvest Host. Would like to see more campers and nomads there. Peg, if you read this. Thank you! You run a quality Inn, and we can't wait to return.

Staff was nice, but was charged for a double cocktail when we didn't ask for one. When I pointed it out they said that's just what they poured.

Never been disappointed with the food or service. If your ever hungry and can't find a place to eat. Pegs Pleasant view is hands down the place u wont to be at. The staff and owner will make u feel like you're at home. So PLEASE EVERYONE tip your waitress or waiter.

It is a quaint restaurant owned by a very friendly woman. It's a bit off the beaten path (about 2 miles from I94) but worth it. You don't have the large crowds that the franchise restaurants have and you get fresh homemade food. If you have the chance, check it out!

My husband and I went on Fri night for their buffet. I'm going to start with the waitress we had was amazing, but that's all that was good. The buffet starts I believe at 4pm we got there about 4:30. The food was cold. The ribs had good flavor. The baked fish was not good. I couldn't try the deep fried fish because they had it with the shrimp, which I'm allergic to. The corn was so bad it should have been thrown out. The cheesy potatoes were good. But overall not worth the money and belly ache afterwards.

Had a great lunch at Peg’s. This is about as quintessential Wisconsin as you get. Casual and friendly environment. Dining room with buffet and attached but separate bar area. Unassuming packed with some of the best fried foods I’ve had in a LONG time. The chicken tenders are battered chicken breast fillets…reminiscent of a fish fry but (real and unprocessed) chicken! Their batter is flavorful without being overpowering. Waffle and regular fries made perfectly. Salty fried cheese curds with the perfect batter-to-cheese ratio. Highly recommend the stop if you love to find hidden local gems. Just make sure you aren’t counting calories when you arrive!

Read reviews on the prim rib sandwich and I concur...it was very good and a good portion. Little fatty, but that's prime rib for ya. Their self cut and battered chicken strips where very good too. Bloodiest were perfect for us since we don't like a real spicy bloody.

The owner is very fun and welcoming. You feel like your walking in the door at home. The food is amazing and great service. Will definitely be going back.

Had my birthday dinner at pegs. I enjoyed my choice of dinner as did my family. Nice place for a good meal and if you chose, an after dinner drink and social enviorment.

They are short staffed but still making it work and still delivering good food.

Went there one morning for breakfast. The food was pretty good. The staff is very friendly. Brought our syrup out and just before my son went to use it, we noticed an Asian beetle in it. Told the waitress and she said, “Oh ****”, loud enough for the rest of the kids at the table to hear. Also they don’t seem to give you a check when done eating, they just give you a price. Interesting place to say the least.

Yummy! Our bloody marys were delicious and so was all of the food we ordered for breakfast. I love small town places. Our server was great too, they were busy but kept coming back to check on us. Maybe I missed a sign or something, but I didn't know that cards were not accepted as payment when I tried to pay the bill. ☺ can't wait to come and try the fish fry. 🐟

Stopped on our way home from Minneapolis for breakfast....some of the best biscuits and gravy I've had from a restaurant! My wife had a delicious omelet! Great service and friendly home town bar!!

We stopped while we were out for a country drive, the place was clean, the waitress was welcoming, friendly and attentive and my steak was perfect!

We stopped here for lunch on a cross country road trip. Peg was super friendly and our waitress was very nice and accommodating. They have great chicken fingers and honey mustard sauce! Very local and friendly spot! Very clean as well!

We stopped in for the fish fry, and are glad we did. The wait staff was awesome, as was the food. It has been a while since we have done a fish fry, and this was a great way to get back on that train.

What a fantastic little hole in the wall. My girlfriend and i stopped here looking for a simple sit down lunch. We received not only an excellent meal, but also stellar service. The girl with the tattoos took care of us like close friends. the price is exactly what I expected to pay, the chicken strips were handmade, and the honey mustard was recommended and enjoyed.

Super friendly. They go the extra mile for their customers. We had burgers, steaks and chicken. Everything was awesome!
