Delicious Chinese food! And great service

The last three times we ordered their things have not been good. Last night ordered two Mongolian beef, combos and a regular sweet-and-sour all three the chicken was so small and so over fried couldn’t even eat it and the Mongolian beef was chopped up so small just wasn’t the same didn’t come out the same either

Don't order the chicken fried rice or egg rolls. Leftovers day 2 don't sit well in your stomach. Not to mention that this was the whitest chicken fried rice with little, and bland, chicken that I've had in a long while.

Absolute favorite place to eat. Always amazing food and service.

The food tasted great and large portions. The service by our waitress was perfect. Her smile made our evening. Plus thanks for helping me remember my credit card. Need more places like this down in Idaho😊

Nice place to go out for Chinese food in the valley.

The portions are large and the service was good. They accommodated my wife's request to make the chicken fried rice spicy. The sesame chicken didn't have flavor. The chicken lo mein though tasty had way too many vegetables and not enough chicken or noodles. The ice machine was broken so the water was lukewarm and couldn't get any soda. The crab Rangoon had hardly any crab meat

Best Chinese food we have had in Alaska in all the years we have been here. This is no Chinese fast food this is the real thing! Inside the place was clean & very nicely decorated & the menus were fantastic & the first restaurant in awhile that we had clean menus that had been wiped down & cleaned ( it’s the little things) nobody wants to touch a nasty menu then eat & we have been noticing most restaurants are filthy specially the menus. Service was very nice & they started us off with a teapot of hot tea without even asking which was a very nice touch specially since it was chilly & raining outside. Everyone was very welcoming & kind & even the chef came out to talk with us. We will definitely be going again! We had Mongolian Beef & the General Tzou’s Chicken.

Food was very good. The building is definitely alittle heavy on echo so hearing aids might have a small issue but it's worth the hassle for the food. The staff was pleasant and verry good

Kung Pao chicken was so good! A little spicy just like how I like it. The General Tzou’s chicken was amazing! Spicy too! Good spicy, like you can’t stop eating it. The entire plate was eaten clean. The Egg drop soup was eaten up, every drop was delicious. The sweet and sour chicken was so perfect and crispy. Service was great! The restrooms were very clean also. Definitely coming back again!

Went there on a date with my fiance yesterday around 6:30pm because he recommended the Mongolian beef. We tried a few different plates of food and it was okay. It could have had more flavor, And the Mongolian beef didn't taste anything like "Mongolian beef" that I've had before at other restaurants. The Mongolian beef was still okay though, It was just... sweet? which was kind of odd to me. The veggies in the cashew chicken could have been cooked a little more. They were almost completely raw, and the bamboo strips were harder (crunchier?)than I've ever had before at another restaurant. Maybe it's just my preference, but I don't like bamboo stuck in my teeth. None of the items on the menu had descriptions for what was in the dish. If I had known that everything came with celery In it, I would have asked them to remove it. I've never had cashew chicken with celery in it so it never even came to mind to ask not to add it in the dishes. The egg rolls were all right, crispy, but I felt like there might have been too much cabbage, because when I received them and took my first bite, there was nothing but wilted veggies in my mouth and a crunchy outer shell. But I mean it is an EGG ROLL. You can't expect too much out of em. The food was all right, It was edible And large portions too! but I wouldn't say it was delicious, And I had to tediously pick celery out of everything. I hate the stuff. It's just my personal preference. Nothing against the food there lol However, I had a major problem with our server's attitude, the young gal with black hair and glasses. She had incredibly poor customer service from the moment we walked in the door till the moment we left. No smiles. No friendly banter. Pushing us to order when we were just seated. When she went to take us to our seats. She put us in the darkest corner of the dining room, when the ENTIRE dining room was available for seating. I politely apologized and asked if we could have a window seat instead. She did not say one word to me or my fiance, she Just grabbed The menus and slammed them down on the window table I was pointing towards. She acted like we were pests In her restaurant. I felt like we were an annoyance to her, for simply being there. Her poor attitude wasn't designated just for me and my fiance however, I observed her acting the same way to a family of four who was seated adjacent to us. Pushing them to order and acting annoyed when they weren't ready yet. I don't think she made eye contact with us the entire time we were there. She never came to check on us to see how we were doing, how the food was, or if we needed anything, condiments/etc. Her blatantly rancid attitude has me convinced that she acts this way on the regular, or has at least never been reprimanded for such behavior. As someone who works in customer service, her attitude was absolutely unacceptable and she should not have been on the floor if she was having such a bad day. If you can't show up to work and withhold the company standard of simply being polite while serving customers, then you should not come to work. I'm absolutely appalled because I've never been treated this way at a restaurant before in All my years. I've been to shady little restaurants up in the mountains, And the customer service there was better than this little girl's attitude. If you don't reprimand her and hold her accountable for her behavior, Then she will continue to drive away customers like she drove us away. If you don't reprimand her for her behavior that's fine, It makes no difference to me, and I'm not losing money because of it. But it might be beneficial to show her this review, to put in perspective how her attitude affects this business, And how other people perceive the business because of that. In customer service, if you're a server, you're the face of the company. You are the person who has direct contact with the customer, You're supposed to establish good rapport with the customer to keep them coming back. That is not what this young lady did, unfortunately will not be coming back. Don't recommend

We have enjoyed this little restaurant for years. It finished remodeling recently. Anyways, we like their chicken fried rice. My husband likes their Mongolian beef.

Ordered takeout. The food was some of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The Mongolian beef sauce was sweet which is atypical for a savory dish. Disappointed that there are limited Chinese food options in town.

I recently visited Peking Chinese Restaurant, hopeful for a flavorful and authentic Chinese meal. Unfortunately, my experience fell significantly short of my expectations. Whether it was the stir-fries, the dumplings, or the soups, each dish seemed to lack the depth and zest I was eagerly anticipating. On a positive note, I will say that the meal didn't make me ill, which I'm thankful for. It's a basic expectation for any dining experience, but given the lack of flavor, it's one of the few positives I can report. I understand that every restaurant can have an off day, and perhaps this was just not their best moment. However, when looking for a satisfying Chinese meal, the essence of the cuisine—its vibrant and diverse flavors—should shine through, which was not the case during my visit. I hope this feedback can serve as constructive criticism. A focus on enhancing the flavor profiles of the dishes could greatly improve the dining experience for future customers.

Really good food and nice a clean place

The waitress was kinda rushing me, she even asked me if I wanted to take my food with me while was still eating. And the food had no Chinese food taste at all. Don’t think I’ll be back sorry.

This restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. The service great as we had a very friendly and helpful server. The food was definitely top notch and very flavorful. I will definitely come back.

This was my first time trying this restaurant. The exterior of the restaurant doesn't match the interior. It looks like it was recently renovated. I thought it was nice and basic. Service was good. This is not your typical chinese restaurant with a full plate of your choice of entree and side of rice in a bowl that you can share with whom your eating with. You are served with hot tea and water immediately. The presentation of the food looked high end and neatly placed on plates. The only reason I gave the food a 3 is because it lacks flavor, basically salt. The chicken was nicely breaded, but lacked taste. The only ingredient that adds taste is the sauce poured on top. The house soup is a resemblance to chicken noodle soup and could also use more flavor. The two foods that had flavor were the egg roll and fried rice.

Picked up 200 dollars worth of food and when I got home realized they forgot two items. Upon calling them to ask about it they told me that I was wrong and I didn’t know what I was talking about so I told them they were right and the customer is always wrong great way to get no more repeat business

Over the past few months, I have ordered dinner for pick-up or delivery on several occasions. My favorite is the Mongolian Beef. Each time I place an order, I am always greeted by a friendly staff member, and my food is typically ready between 15-20 minutes. Thank you!!

A friend recommended Peking. It was my hubby's birthday and we loved it there. Very tasty, great service and great atmosphere.

The food was not the worst but not the best. Staff was friendly and nice. Building feels empty and really open inside.

Great fresh atmosphere with even greater food and service

First time trying after seeing current reviews. Ordered a combo plate (to-go) with broccoli beef and orange chicken. Thought it was pretty pricey @$21.50 but it was a lot of food and being take out, I was pleasantly surprised that the soup was included. The 2 choices for the combo were VERY uneven. The broccoli/beef took up half the container and the orange chicken took up 1/4. I suppose if you have a true favorite, maybe you can ask for that to fill up the main portion of the container vs the other. After I took the pictures and had a bite, I noticed something strange with the broccoli beef. It had very few pieces of broccoli and a good amount of cabbage and zucchini instead. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious and the beef was super tender (possibly one of the best Ive had honestly) BUT...change the name to veggies and beef if it's not going to be actual broccoli (there was very little!). The orange chicken was pretty good and had some spice to it. It was still piping hot after getting it home as well! Overall I was very satisfied and we look forward to trying it out more as a family!

To those that remember how Peking was in the past…the king has left the throne 😆 The good food, atmosphere, and reasonable prices are gone. The lovely people that used to work there and serve are also gone. Our family used to love coming to dine in…it will be missed. 💞

We all agreed this was top 3 Chinese we've had. That's saying alot as our family has traveled all over the US. We just moved to Wasilla and plan to be back!

This is by far the best Mongolian beef I've had. I would compare the quality to P.F. Chang's food which is a great comparison I think. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

The soup is really good. Had a rice bowl with fried tofu, the tofu was super good too. Solid food, good service

Best General Tzao and Hot Sour Soup I’ve had in Alaska! The crab Rangoons were perfectly hot and the sweet/sour sauce is on point! Service was incredible, fast, and to order! Will be back!

Rolled in 15 min to close while traveling, staff was very accommodating to a late arrival. Food was GOOD and the restaurant clean.

I’ve been getting the Mongolian beef here for years, and let me tell you, it’s the best Mongolian I have ever tried. Definitely the best in alaska. Perfect ratio of sweet, smokey, and flavor burst. I dined in for the first time in years and they have remodeled. The atmosphere is divine, super clean. The employees were nice but acted kinda awkward and rushed us. The food was all very plain, EXCEPT the Mongolian beef. We ordered the crab rangoons, chicken fried rice and orange chicken. All of them lacked flavor and seasoning. I hope they make some changes, as I want a reason to come back and give them another chance.

I have stopped going to Peking do to the dirteness of the resturant and cold food I have received while dining in during a slow evening it was my group of 3 and one other table in whole resturant.

Finally tried this after a friend suggested it, and I was really impressed with the food, service and neatness inside the restaurant. I have a new favorite place to eat! Everything was very fresh and tasted amazing! The Mongolian Beef was the best I've ever had.

the waitresses are rude very rude but the food is good and i ordered 30 min in advance and food still wasn’t ready had to wait 20 min asked the waitress and she said the people in the dine in are more important and i said all customers should be just as important but

Newly remodeled, same great food.

My wife and I came in today for a lunch date. The waitstaff was incredibly nice, the food was great, came out piping hot and the general vibe of the place was very inviting. Everyone seemed happy to be there, and one of the cooks was singing his lungs out in the kitchen. In my experience those things pretty much gaurentee good food and a good experience. Keep it up!

New ownership have truly done an amazing job updating the interior to an open, inviting, and very modern feel. The food is decent, a little spendy, but service was very positive and fast.

Great food and good traditional family recipes.

Ordered out a couple times from this place an food was great! Dining in not so great😒, $15 a plate for very small portions, Ordered a soup as I had gotten before for take out an it was good, but on this day dining in, no flavor watered down even after putting lot of soy sauce in it thought that would fix it but still tastes watery. Got a order of egg rolls it was two very small egg rolls cut into four pieces an on top of that they charged an 18% gratuity charge for have more than six people which three people in my party were 4yrs an younger! Felt sorry for waiter as service was good but I'm not going to add another $20tip after being charged for bringing kids in! I think I'll stick to ordering out if I ever do probably not for awhile though maybe they got new cooks?

Ordered Sweet & Sour chicken and Pork Egg Foo Young and paid the $2.00 extra for Pork Fried Rice. Chicken tasted fine however it only had two small chunks of pineapple, two slivers of raw onion, two small chunks of tomato and the sour sauce was just drizzled over it. The Egg Foo Young was uneatable. The pork was breaded and fried but it was so soggy from swimming ( & not in a good way) in gravy. Almost tasted left over, not recently fried. The Egg Foo Young had been cut up and I had to dig it out from under the soggy pork. The rice wasn’t bad but certainly was not worth the up charge as I only could find 3 tiny pieces of pork in mine. We did not order from the combination menu and they were equally priced however my Egg Foo Young arrived on a full size dinner plate, covered and the husbands Sweet & Sour Chicken arrived on a salad plate. The portion size was about half of mine and he left hungry. The waitress was very friendly and timely. I did express my food being soggy when I told her I did not need a to go box. She said she would let the kitchen know but that was the extent of the response. Neither of us have been there in probably over 10 years and really wanted to like it but we won’t be returning.

The worst overpriced Chinese food Ive ever had. Save your money and go someplace else, the food has absolutely no taste.

The food is amazing. I can only give a 4 star for now because their remodel really needs some help. It is now loud, cold, and far too open. The dining room needs some separation & sound control. A wall between the bathrooms would be great so the whole place doesn't have to watch you come and go. A pony wall in the dining area with tables on each side would really break the area up too. Also, the service is always outstanding. We'll be back for the food and service and if they remodel to make it more comfy, I'll update to a 5 star!

Food could have been hotter. Portions were good. There could have been more flavor, food was very plain! Service was good, she did make mistakes but was quick to correct them. Noticed when she was serving others. Egg soup was the only think I enjoyed. We ordered veggie chicken fried rice to go and when we got home the fried rice was plain no flavor and veggies were under cooked.

The food is not like it use to be..I was very disappointed with the new renovations. Disappointed with the restaurant itself since it changed….

Best Mongolian beef in the entire world

Food has definitely gone up hill. It was really good and service was fast and great.

Well it use to be good about 15 years ago, I give it a try once every few years to see, they remodeled the place but I wouldn't say for the better updated sure but to open concept. The food some of it was good, most of it comparable to carrs Chinese food slightly better. Basil ginger is actually cheaper for alot of things and way better quality. They will probly go out of buisness by the time I decide to try again

Everyone who says this place I not good has no taste buds. It is buy far the best Chinese places I have ever had in alaska and one of my favorite restaurants in the valley.

Recently remodeled and the food was great.

$9.95 for 6 large onion rings that were soggy and wet, no crunch. Kinda pricey for Chinese food, would expect the take out containers be full for the price I paid. I gave 3 stars as the steamed rice was cooked perfect, but my rice cooker does it too. I use Door dash and they had nothing to do with the food outside of delivering it, they got 5 stars.

Somebody actually thought it was a good idea to gut the classic interior of this place and make it look like a gray cold serial killer's basement with hard metal chairs,gray walls and bare bulbs. The exposed duct work is an nice touch. I can't bear to linger in here anymore. I get my food to go. Its so uncomfortable and ugly looking in here now. Ruined a good place.

After years of avoiding this place we came in for the soft opening and I’m happy we did. The place is all spruced up and if your looking for American Chinese you will be happy. Great staff and great food

The food was cold and had an overwhelming taste of sesame oil. The tea was cold as well and the service was nonexistent. They must be under new ownership because this place was not worth $21 I just spent. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will never eat here again.

The restaurant has a future if it does some changes. First don't forget sauce for your order. After 25 years of cooking. There are basic things that need to be done. Flavor is close but one should not worry about over seasoning it. Lack of flavor will ruin your experience. It is very close to American Chinese food. Customers service well done. But little things will ruin the meal. Step back and look at your basic fundamentals.

2nd time I've ordered pickup. Superfast and great service. Portions are enemouse. Food is really good. I always judge based off of 2 dishes Mongolian beef and Kung pho chicken. Both great will try a diffrent dish next

This was the most flavorful, fresh Chinese I have had in a long time. Have traveled all over and this is in my top 3 of best Chinese restaurants I have been to. Great service. Food was hot and delicious. Wait time was better than average. Will be going here again and again.

Really good food with nice staff! New outdoor seating is wonderful. We love the orange chicken, Mongolian beef and fried rice!

Very underwhelming. Both of my and my wife’s entrees were not cooked well, breading was soft and not crunchy and the chicken was dry. Appetizers we’re not crispy but limp. Also, my wife’s sweet and sour sauce had a mosquito in it. I Do not recommend this restaurant.

We have ordered once a month for a few years and always found the food to be good. The Kung Pao is hot but not too spicy and full of fresh veggies and the chicken chow mein is always a big hit. We will continue to order out and enjoy the experience!
