One of our favorite restaurants!! The salmon is melt in your mouth and not fishy at all!! Huge salads are amazing! As are the sweet potato fries! But, one con, usually noisy because it's so popular!

Jaiden is one of the best servers we have EVER had here. He was polite, gentlemanly, detail oriented and fast. It was so refreshing seeing someone who seems to love his job. He truly made our families night so much better. We will only ask for him now!! Thank you Jaiden your manager better reward you!

We did not enjoy the mints left on our car seats

We had steak/scallops and shrimp/scallops. The scallops were wrapped in bacon. The scallops were way overcooked, and the bacon was undercooked. The server checked on us only once. I might go to Pelicans for a Happy Hour and an appetizer, but it's not a place where I would celebrate an anniversary dinner, which is what we were celebrating. We went there for the seafood and overall we were disappointed.

Pretty good, crowded, good food. Slick areas on walkway.

The filet minon was cooked a perfect medium rare. Seasoned well. Baked potatoe was delicious! I was only going to eat half of it but couldn't stop eating it. The lobster tail was a very good size and tasted good. Server was great and timely. He did the right amount of table attention.

came here for the first time on my little brother’s birthday. seemed pretty busy on a Wednesday evening. Everything went smooth. the server was really nice 👍 everything was good thank you :)

I Took my boyfriend here for his birthday we ordered mushrooms for an appetizer two prime ribs and two drinks and the price was $122. I don’t think it was worth the price because everything was very bland. I usually don’t put salt on food, but definitely had to do it here on everything . The service was nice, but I won’t be waisting money here again.

Food is always good. They have a great selection of sea food, including bass.

As a proud former restaurateur, I consider myself picky. My partner would agree, most likely. But- after momentary “sticker shock,” we dove into the menu. We asked for a table on the patio out front. We had a tough time deciding as everything was so tempting. Our delightful server, Tara, suggested the Halibut with an almond crust and lemon cream sauce, with included several side options, and I selected an Ahi Tuna salad. WOW! My partner even ordered a glass of wine. The food was fresh, hot and simply delish! It’s rare to find halibut perfectly cooked. My large serving of tuna was chilled of course, and served with a tasty sesame sauce on the side as well as a scrumptious Soy sauce. (I don’t even like soy as a rule.) Pelican's soared to the top of new restaurants to keep on the list of surprisingly few, given the number of eateries in ABQ. Kudos to all those behind the scene. ☺️

Very slow service, the Ac was not working, sweltering in the bar. So hor couldn't eat my food. Staff acknowledged the problem but didn't offer a solution. After spending over 100, won't be going back

Food is excellent. The calamari is delish. The chef knows how to flavor black and blue.

My husband and I had a delicious meal while celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary. Our server was also very kind.

Native Marylander not far from the Chesapeake Bay. So my expectations are pretty high in regards to a Maryland "Style crab cake." If you are from Maryland and order a crab cake, the wait staff will ask if you want that broiled or fried. That is true in any resturant worth its Old Bay. Speaking of Old Bay, I detected 0 none zip in the crab cake. Maryland crab cakes always have Old Bay. The crab meat can be lump back fin which is first quality. Back fin not lump. Mix of claw meat and other crab meat excluding back fin. I was very disappointed in the taste and quality of the crab cake appetizer. Entree was fish & chips. Again I was disappointed. I have had far better locally, larger portion and better price. I give a + to our waitress, she did well. I made MD crabcakes for the folks that took me to Pelicans. I made them real MD crab cakes on Memorial Day, i bought real Jumbo Back Fin Maryland Blue Crab meat, from a store I know well in Essex MD, Gershbecks. It was highest quality. So my review might seem harsh, but not if you have ever had a Crab cake in any good MD resturant. Photo is what a real MD crab cake looks like, it has minimal filler, and fslls apart.

One of my all time favorite restaurants in Albuquerque. Always good! Ribeye is on point and definitely worth a try!

Thank you for a wonderful experience this Father's Day Saturday, the weekend of our 35th Wedding Anniversary. We enjoyed the outdoor seating on the patio, in the shade, with a breeze; we found it very nice. Simply Great!

Reservations were chaos,way over crowded which made for a poor atmosphere,extremely over rated and overpriced....I would not recommend pelicans at all....

Great food great service and great atmosphere

This is consistently a good restaurant. I enjoyed the salmon, which was cooked to perfection, and one of my guests also made that comment about the same Dish. Another enjoyed the trout almondine. The fish and chips featured A crisp crust and the portions were large. One guest was enticed by the salmon Oscar, a special that night, and she remarked that the hollandaise and crab additions were worth the higher price. "Sometimes, you need a little indulgence," she said. Our oversees guest, perhaps suspicious of ordering seafood in a landlocked desert, was delighted with his perfectly cooked medium rare steak. The salads are always fresh, and truly bottomless as we requested a second round. In the end, we ordered the mud pie, shared between 6 people. Everyone claimed to just want a taste! It turned out to be a good call, as it was a huge portion! I remarked to our waitress, it was a good thing that we didn't order more than one! She replied, "I wouldn't have l let you." When the check arrived, not only did we reflect on a great time with friends, but I left with a sense of also receiving a great value. That is hard to find in the current moment.

Sean is one great Server and I will take him out fishing anytime he's got some time. Excellent place and great food.

I love Pelican’s!!! The food is always consistent and the staff is well trained, friendly and professional. Eat in the bar if you want to go a little more casual. Great salad and excellent beef tips in the bar. Locally owned and operated.

We had a table of 7 last night and the service was terrible, our waitress acted like she didn't want to be there. We spent well close to $300 and the food was sub-par, compared to what it used to be, they ran out of bread, who does that. We told our waitress it was a birthday, we ended up singing it ourselves. Will not be back as there are other restaurants that deserve our money

Had dinner there tonight, and it was over the top. My son had the prime rib and I had the fish and chips. Both portions were huge. The crab cakes were outstanding as well. Jaden was our server, and he was one of the best I’ve had in years.

Disappointed with salad, raw veggies not able to to check or digest. Should offer a more friendly salad. With lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and raspberry dressing. Chocolate cake was excellent. Had trout was good but may try a steak next time. This was our first time there. Bread was ok not like the picture ours was flat and hard to chew. Would recommend the restaurant but never the salad or free bread.

Haven’t been to Pelican’s in a minute, but it was still as good as I recall. The atmosphere was great and even though we didn’t have a reservation the wait was surprisingly short.

Service was excellent, staff were really eager to help out wherever needed, and most of the food was really good. Our steak was the one thing that left a little to be desired, but the salmon we got was quality, notable considering this is the middle of the desert.

Went here with my son after work. Our server, Sarah, was excellent, kind, and very attentive. The food was amazing and everyone dining seemed happy to be there. All around a pleasant pace to be with great service and food. We will be coming back for sure!

Took my wife for our anniversary, Loved it best steak I've had in the last 8 years, food and service was excellent. Bit pricey so take your credit card but we'll worth it.

I can't begin to explain the amazing experience my husband and I had at Pelican's. We went two Friday's ago to celebrate our 16 year anniversary! We definitely hit the jackpot, and choose the right place. Our server, Danya, was exceptional. She was so cheerful, welcoming, and waited on us as if we were her family. I enjoyed when she would come to check on us, because she was genuine and caring. She took great care of us, and we absolutely loved her! We ordered two charred ribeyes that were AMAZING. Compliments to the chef!!! That meal came with asparagus and salad. The salad was so fresh and filled with lots of vegetables. My kind of salad! My husband decided to get the king crab leg and...WOW!!! My mouth is watering thinking about how fresh and delectable it was! Our meals were on the pricier side, but it was well worth every penny, especially because we were told by our server, Danya, that the owner selects his own products and is very careful what he chooses. It definitely shows in the quality of the food! We will definitely be back and we will recommend this treasure of a restaurant to our family and friends!

Ordered a steak... it was good, but they overcooked mine too medium and my bros to well done... not what we asked for, but got compensated for the mess up. Other than that, good place get there right at about 6 to 6:30 and the place will clear out by 7 or so... it'll be like having the place to yourself.

My husband and I went to eat Friday night. Ordered our kids the kids fish and chips and I ordered the adult fish and chips. When my entree came out the fish size was almost identical to the size of the kids "fish sticks". Additionally, when it says bottomless salad and they bring out only one place of salad and that's it I wonder why this was even after asking we did not get another plate. I've been a frequent flyer of pelicans for years and this was unfortunately the worst service and food we have had.

We sat at the bar where Clinton was very attentive. Drinks were excellent. We each had a couple different martinis and finished with a margarita and an old fashioned. Shared a couple of apps that were well executed. (Oysters on the half shell and calamari) Was a great spot for drinks at the end of the week. Bar specials were excellent and varied each day. Would recommend and go again.

Went in there on Friday around 415pm. and got a booth on the left side section. We ended up with a waitress (young blonde hair, didn't get her name) who completely rushed us the entire meal. We ordered an appetizer and drinks, and shortly after our appetizer arrived, our food came out. Our waitress continuously felt the need to check on us. She continuously told us throughout our meal to be sure to save room for dessert. In fact, as we were in the middle of eating just halfway through our meal, she asked us if we decided on dessert yet. We said we didn't know yet. A couple minutes later, she asked us again, so we said no. A couple minutes later, she asked us if we needed to go containers, which, by the way, we were still only a bit over halfway through our meal. We come here often, and we have never experienced such a crazy rushed experience as we did or at any restaurant for that matter. Makes me think they only care about getting you in and out, turning a profit. As for the food, everything was good except for the halibut was dry and barely had lemon cream sauce, and the rice pilaf was the worst I ever had in my life. That was a $38 dollar plate. The prime rib, salad, and Mexican shrimp cocktail were excellent. After this experience, we won't be coming back any time soon. Thanks, Pelicans, for a great date night....not.

Don't come here often, and remember it being average at best. This time we were extremely surprised with how amazing everything was. The bread, salad, fries and steak were all amazing! Everything was fresh and delicious.The service was excellent as well our waitress was Sarah. She was very friendly, and got us everything we needed, and when we asked for little extras she seemed happy to get them and not irritated like some people would be towards the end of the night. We will definitely be back!

We came for dinner with family and had cocktails, dinner, & desserts. The seasoning on the ribeye was a little too sweet for the person that ordered it. But the other steaks we ordered were good. We also had the grilled salmon, the shrimp scampi, & the trout almondine. We tried all the desserts and they were delicious

It's changed hands in 2024, poor quality made everyone sick vomiting and diarrhea in my party. Notifying health department ABQ. Stay away. Prices are high, what ever corporate bought it they destroyed, at one time one of the best. Food poisoning is no joke. Pelicans on Montgomery Blvd, Albuquerque NM

This place is one of my new favorites. It's got that "average working man" feel to it. One of those pay day kind of places. Atmosphere is very comfortable; a perfect mix of fancy and casual. Our server, I think his name was Keenan, was very polite, attentive, and informative. And the food... PHENOMENAL! The filet mignon was the most tender cut of meat I've had ever! The coconut shrimp is awesome!

great food....but lobster was a looser. over cooked. they took the drinks off our bill. i expected more for a tail at market. so i can tell you, expectations were not met.

We had dinner at Pelicans this last Friday for the first time , and wow. Food and service was so good! We definitely can’t want to go again.

Outrageous wait time. Told us 30 minutes and we waited over an hour and were still waiting. They apparently put reservations in front and it looked like they were letting their friends in or letting people skip ahead and it was getting ridiculous. Had to leave cause they kept putting people in front of us. Waste of time, will be my first and last time going here. Don't tell people a wait time estimate if it can change or just tell us to make a reservation!

I got the pot o shrimp which was underwhelming, with a total of 9 shrimp and a potato and that’s the full meal. I also got fish and chips which were soggy and flavorless. My lemon was browning so that’s cute. The calamari was okay. i’ve had better. overall disappointing. we paid $70 plus tip for mediocre food. You’re better off going to olive garden or even long john silvers

For Albuquerque it was good for sea food. Nothing like Siegel Street or Paul's Monterey Inn. Updated Review: After my first visit I decided to get them another try. Been back about five times since and my personal opinion is you have to catch an early dinner. Being in with the rush is night and day if you get there before. I almost think they could have a bigger location to accommodate the amount of people coming in. Certainly not a bad thing at all, but I do understand the pressure it puts on the cooks and wait staff. So with learning from trial and error 4 to 5pm is usually your best time to come in and eat. The place ran like a well oiled machine. Food was delicious and visual less rushed. I usually don't eat steaks when I go out because most cooks have a hard time getting to a medium/rare steak. The last four visits they nailed every time. Thank you much and see you soon

I hadn't been to Pelican's in years. It was very busy and we had a 20 minute wait even though we had reservations. It was worth the wait. We had an excellent meal and the service was good.

Great seafood, seeing as how we live in the desert.

Had a great take out experience last night around 7pm via curbside - we ordered prime rib and oysters which were delicious! The size of the prime rib and oysters were great too and generous! The young lady who took my order in the phone and answered my calls was very good, as well as the young man who packed and brought out our meals. Everything was packaged perfect, clean and in tact, and everything was included such as the raw horseradish, au jus, bread etc. (unlike many places that always forget 1 thing or 2). We used to dine in frequently and always had a great experience too - the owner/manager he was always very nice and attentive! I highly recommend this restaurant on Montgomery. We are lucky it is pretty close to where we live! Thank you!

Have you eaten at Pelican’s? The food was so good! The server and staff are also really great!! The steaks have great flavor and can’t say anything bad about the visit!!! The atmosphere is just quit and is hard to beat!!!! The PRIME RIB is so good, if you don’t show up early enough you may miss out!!!!!

New review october 2023: service was good, peel and eat shrimp smelled old and fishy. Fried shrimp was battered to death and overcooked, may be because they are bad shrimp. The calmari chewy the last 3 times and clam chowder is watery. Old review: Best fried shrimp in the southwest. But very very expensive.

Book a table. It is always busy. The food is great.

Great food. The scallops wrapped in bacon are the best. The sesame Salmon was very good. The salad was good, though the clam chowder was not so good. But the reason for only 5 starts was the service. Our server, Carmen, was NOT very good. She had no time for our table. We had to ask for the check, and she threw it at us. Good service is important to making you want to return. It is as important as the food.

Oysters were deelious...👍😋 the NM shrimp scampi is really good with the green chili. The Patron shot was a good night cap.

Celebrated my father-in-law's birthday tonight. The food was fantastic! The service was the best I've had anywhere in Albuquerque in a long time. Our server was Jaden, he was very patient with my elderly in-laws, very attentive, courteous, and checked on us often. You have an award winning employee with Jaden!

Our first time here and we are coming back for sure! The food was amazing and our Ukrainian waitress she very attentive and explained everything and took very good care of us and our kids!

Driving through to Phoenix and stopped here for dinner. The food quality is superb! One of the best meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Prices were great and service amazing. It’s a good thing I live 1300 miles away because I’d be eating there all the time.

I was visiting from out of state and went to pelicans for dinner. The food was very good. What I was disappointed in was when our waitress brought out our salad it was in a big bowl that everyone had to serve themselves from to make their own dinner salad. the cucumbers, broccoli and carrots were so big that you had to cut them up before you could begin to eat your salad. I feel that if you are going to a high dollar restaurant, you shouldn't have to cut up the vegetables and make your own dinner salad. I would have given the food a higher start if I didn't have to make my own dinner salad.

Seafood, especially good seafood, is difficult to find in Albuquerque. Pelican's is the best seafood restaurant in town. There is always a good selection of dishes. Included are daily specials. There is also an Early Bird service that draws a lot of seniors. Full bar; great servers; spacious and good seating; adequate parking.

Horrible food, horrible service and way too loud (I could hardly hear what the person sitting next to me was saying). Our server sucked. Asked how our food was about 20 minutes after it was brought to the table. I told him my steak was way undercooked and he couldn't have cared less. I wasn't about to wait another half hour for an overpriced filet with no flavor. The presentation was slop. The amount I paid for what was received is ridiculous. I won't be going back.

Racism, or too sensitive? My family and I have been frequenting Pelican’s for many, many years. I take my family here to celebrate birthdays and holidays, and before my grandparents passed, this was one of their favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, this past Mother’s Day, we had a negative experience; even with a reservation, we were seated at the table nearest to the kitchen. This normally wouldn’t be much of an issue, but as we looked around, we noticed that solely African Americans and Hispanics had been seated in this area. Whites were seated towards the front of the house and as more people were seated, the pattern became more evident. My mother is a fair completed, Latin American woman and I have light eyes but dark hair and features. I’m often mistaken for a middle eastern or Brazilian woman so I presume this may be why we were seated in this area. Since we had a reservation, I had hoped we would be seated in a decent area. I’ve never experienced anything like what we noticed this weekend; especially not in Albuquerque. Further, I ordered a NY Strip in place of a sirloin yet was served a sirloin. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress (who was very kind and attentive), she felt it was a NY Strip and made no effort to ask the kitchen about it; however, another waiter argued that it was a sirloin. I don’t believe in arguing with wait staff as it feels like bad manners, but as someone who comes from an old and very large ranching family, I know my cuts of beef very well. The steak I was served had a very large area of subcutaneous fat whereas the steak my mother was served was a properly butchered NY Strip; the waiter we spoke with felt I had been given a sirloin as well. The steak was wonderful, but if I’m paying $200 for two people, I expect to receive a what I’m paying for. My mother, who never complains, also mentioned today that her steak was not as tender as usual but she didn’t want to say anything. Nothing major with the meal, but a very strange experience with the seating. I believe the seating was being arranged by the two hostesses, but I have no idea how they were making their decisions. They were both very rude which is NOT something we have ever experienced at Pelicans. I’m not sure we’ll be frequenting Pelicans again especially if minorities are no longer welcome. This isn’t the most upscale steakhouse in town, but it’s our favorite and I hate that we need to look elsewhere. I’ve worked in hospitals and have attended universities across the country; I’ve seen these issues in other states, but never in my home state. Frankly, I’m very surprised and greatly disappointed. Pelicans was always a cut above the rest.
