By far the best food on the island. Thoughtful cocktail menu, and the bartenders are professionals who know how to deliver. Food: every course was exceptional! Every bite, every sauce, all of it is chef driven and delicious. This is our 5th year coming to Perrone's during our summer beach trip, and every year we look forward to it.

Some dishes were so salty they were inedible. The bread was the best part of the meal. Waterboys were attentive. Definitely not worth the price. Scallops soufflé looked like someone had eaten it before me. A can of Mexicali corn was dumped on top of it. Couldn’t locate the scallops.

This was hands down the best dinner I’ve ever had in Myrtle Beach. We came for my bachelor party dinner and it did not disappoint. I’d say that the steak tartar and escargot were the best appetizers, and the cocktail oysters with their mignonette spray were perfect, but the best thing on the menu may have been the blueberry cobbler we had for dessert. The whole place was really cool, and super jazzy, and if you are with a big group you can call about getting their private room, which we did and really made it that much more special. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Myrtle.

All around decent, but the prices online are deceiving and the menu is not up to date. Second, service was mediocre at best, my glass was rarely refilled. My food was good, but not worth the price. For example I could get better fries at Checkers/Rallys. Now the good, in the mens restroom there is a painting of a promiscuous woman and it was quite nice. That's pretty much it.

Some dishes were disappointing while others were very quite good. We had heard great things and really expected to be wowed. Also, the menu looks excellent, but execution was a bit off with a couple of plates. Here is my detailed review. The cocktail menu was extensive and looked really creative, but again, the execution just seemed a little off. My husband had a zombie, which is traditionally super boozy, but this one just didn’t seem to be well balanced. It was good, but not great; I had the mejorita, which was also… Good. I am accustomed to craft cocktail bars, where they make their own bitters and shrubs, and reach beautifully balanced flavors with lots of fresh-squeezed juices and interesting infusions, and this seemed a bit disappointing in comparison. I will note that I am also fine paying $16.50 for a cocktail, but I really want it to be cocktail that is worth $16.50, and these were not. The menu boasts of cutting edge cocktails, and I just did not feel that these cocktails were that cutting edge. To be fair, the descriptions sounded cutting edge. Perhaps we just ordered poorly. They have housemate orgeat and tiki bitters. They have a wonderful selection of spirits, including Appleton rum, which we drank a great deal in Jamaica. But the drinks we ordered were just a bit uninspired. I am seeing more drinks come with foam, which I really love, and the sea salt foam on my drink was perhaps the highlight of the drink. Either the bartender was having an off-night, or we just ordered poorly. Let’s move on to the food. We came in for the octopus carpaccio. I love carpaccio, and I have had beef carpaccio and salmon carpaccio and a wide variety of other types, but the octopus was just a miss. It was too chewy. Maybe if it was really microplaned then it would have worked. I know octopus is chewy, but I’ve also had it prepared where it can be cut with a butter knife and melt in your mouth….this was not that dish. It was very chewy. We also had the caviar eggs, which were again…good. We’ve had lots of fun versions of deviled-type eggs with Caviar on them or lobster bits or other goodies, even deviled egg caviar flights, and this was good, but it felt like the caviar (which should’ve been the star) was not. In fact, even with caviar (which cann be quite salty) it’s like the eggs still lacked seasoning. I don’t know where these went wrong, but they were nice, but not Fantastic. Again, they sound great, but something was a little off in the execution. All of this said, the steak tartare was fantastic! Really wonderful flavors, I wouldn’t change a thing. I would go back here just for the steak tartare!! It was really quite exceptional, and I’ve had a lot of steak tartare in my time. The mousse truffee was also good. My husband’s scallop soufflé tasted delicious, but it looked a bit messy. But the flavor was on point. I guess we expected it to stand up a bit more, but it looked a bit like a soufflé that had fallen. But perhaps that’s what it was supposed to look like. When people use the word “soufflé“ it can mean a lot of things. But the plate looked a bit messy, but again, the flavors were excellent. Will we be back? Yes, I believe we will. I would like to try something else on the cocktail menu, and I would sit at the bar and have a cocktail and just a steak tartare and be happy.

Since Google will not allow multiple reviews, I can only edit or do another review. Had dinner recently at Perrone's, during a busy Saturday evening. There to greet the five of us at the podium was the chef himself, doing double duty. He acknowledged us, and we were seated shortly. I personally have interaction with the chef in the public on a weekly basis. So for him to see us was important. Our server gave us the opportunity to review the extensive bar menu and made recommendations based on personal taste. Yours truly had the special margarita with rosemary and lava salt. Delicious! Two others had their signature bourbon with fig. Apologize for not knowing the name. Also delicious! You can get lost in the drink menu. For our entres, two had the lobster with pasta (forgot menu item name), one had the scallop souffle, one had the fresh catch (grouper), and yours truly had the duck breast. Each was prepared perfectly and very delicious. I want to concentrate on the duck for a moment. Unbelievable! Sous vide to a perfect mid rare, then seared skin side down, rendering the fat. Thinly sliced and placed next to mashed potatoes and grilled aspergus. The dried cherry-port demi Glace is like chocolate syrup on vanilla ice cream. So rich and tasty. Everyone's meal was very good. But the chef went the extra mile, sending to our table a side of macaroni and cheese, corn pudding, and creamy spinach. It was his way of saying he acknowledged us. I'm personally grateful I did not have to pay. Our son was in town and took care of it. This level of dining out will cost you. The choices are many, especially in the drink menu. Expect to pay more to dine here, but also expect to have a very tasty meal. Try the duck!

I am wondering just how insufferable a party of guests would have to be, in order to be invited not to return. I can't imagine it happening, though another reviewer claims it did happen. Perrone's is an extraordinary restaurant--my favorite restaurant ever. It feels to me as if Steve is constantly seeking to find new things, improve old things, mix new things with old things, and present all these things to his guests in the most thoughtful way possible. The menu is always evolving, and yet there is always something for unadventurous amateur foodies like me, and plenty for foodie daredevils as well. I can say with confidence there is no other restaurant like Perrone's on the planet. You should give it a try--if you get it, you get it and you will be immensely pleased. And if you don't get it...I'm really sad for you. For my last visit, Erin took care of me--impeccable service as always. I think Russell mixed my fig old-fashioned, which sounded delightfully odd in my head, and was just delightful in reality. I love Caesar salads, and the one at Perrone's is the best--it's so good it keeps me from trying other things I would like to try. Grouper with forbidden rice in a rich lemony sauce was such a balance of textures and flavors, I have no idea how to describe it. It was my birthday, and I wanted cake, so I had a dessert that wasn't made in-house...but it was decadently rich chocolate, and the housemade maple ice cream was an excellent foil for it. Fantastic dinner.

Dinner service was timely afterwards but the mood was already affected. They have an extensive drink menu including great bourbons but it doesn’t matter if you can’t get them to the table.

What I would expect from a high end restaurant. Interior design was very comfortable. Our server Erin was very professional and well versed in menu items. Fantastic. Unique cocktails: charred cedar Manhattan (smoked glass), lavender Lemon drop martini, black walnut Manhattan old fashion, aviation cocktail— all excellent and different! Duck foil gras, burrata, pork chop, 45 day dry aged ribeye, and cream brûlée. All uniquely delicious. Our server, Erin K., was friendly and knowledgeable. This is a MUST for fine dining on the grand strand.

Our reservation was on a Saturday at 8 pm. This is a high end and expensive restaurant. The waitress pressured us to place our orders as the kitchen was closing at 9 pm because of limited staff. I wasn't willing to spend several hundred dollars on a dinner for two and be rushed. We told the hostess (owner ?) that we would give it another try in the future but were told not to bother.

As you enter this wonderfully intimate restaurant, you are greeted by three lockers of dry aging meat. Two full of beautiful ribeyes, making their way to 45 days, and one filled with salmon, being dry, aged as well. Melissa was a fantastic server as we ate at the bar. This is our second time dining here so we switched it up a bit and primarily ordered small plates to what accompanied by one entree to split as well with a bottle of red wine. The wine menu is vast with much detail. Unfortunately, the online menu does not appear to be the most up-to-date one so I cannot give you the exact name of the photo with the octopus, thin sliced, but it is in the salad section and was a very fascinating serving of octopus. Delicious! The special of the evening also not on the menu itself, but the appetizer feature was the burrata cheese with olives, extra-virgin, olive oil, dried tomatoes, pesto, and large leaf basil. The olives were particularly divine as they were not super briny has most all Lazare and I enjoy. These were rather delicate and flavor, and the burrata was out of this world. The foie gras with lingonberries was as much art to the plate as it was the the palate. Tuna crudo and shrimp rounded out the small plate list for us. Our entree(on current menu but not online also) was the pork raghu bolognese pasta. This was our one repeated dish from our first dining experience as the quality of it reminds me of my travels to Italy last year. There is definitely time that is put into this dish based on the flavor. The dessert chosen was my least favorite of the evening, but a unique presentation nonetheless. Called the bomba chocolate fig(I may not have that title correct) which is served with a small glass of port and a detailed instruction card. While the port was quite delicious, the dark chocolate enveloped fig to me liked anything exciting or repeat worthy. However, I am looking very much forward to try and the other desserts during our next experience as well as the dry aged meat! Don’t be fooled by the nondescript exterior - as you enter this wonderful restaurant and see the meat being dry aged and action behind the lovely cocktail bar you know you’re in for a treat. The ambience is artsy with lots of wall art. Staff are professional and service was great. Interesting wine and cocktail list by the bottle and the glass. It’s not cheap - but the best restaurant in the county doesn’t need to be! So pleased we spent New Year’s Eve having dinner at the great restaurant- it’s a shame we live 550 miles away in Sarasota FL otherwise it would easily become one of our favorites!

My wife and I are locals and ate here for the first time on our recent anniversary. Everything was perfect. Server was awesome. The food ranks at the very top of the list of all restaurants in the Myrtle Beach/Pawley's Island area. The in-house dry aged steak is an absolute must. We've lived here for years and wish we'd tried this restaurant years earlier. It's expensive, but reasonably so as any high end restaurant with a similar menu would be. The food here is excellent, for the most part. The only downside is patronizing such rude owners. The wife is the hostess and does not have a welcoming bone in her body. We had a server who was fair at best, and we ended up canceling one of our plates, as we were tired of waiting. Dining room was not busy. When we left the owner/chef, his wife and our waitress were gathered near the bar area and acknowledged us with rude looks. Once we had a hostess, young woman, that greeted us and acted like she was glad we were there. We thought perhaps the change was permanent, but unfortunately it wasn't.

I have dined at Perrone's many times and have always enjoined their food and the service is always fantastic. However, tonight I had the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. The owner, who is the one who was greeting guests at the door tonight might want to consider retiring. She was the most unpleasant human I have encountered in the restaurant industry. I was seated next to the blinds at the wall of the restaurant and the restaurant was not even that busy. I had cracked a few blinds to watch for my husband as he was on his way from work and was dropping something off for me and I did not have my phone. She came over and began to close the binds and I said I cracked that because I was awaiting my husband and he will be here in a few minutes. She rudely stated " No one wants to see the parking lot" and proceeded to shut the blinds. She made no regard for my comment and left me shocked at her disregarding behavior. Aside from the miserable encounter above, she did not greet me as I walked in she also made no comment as I exited. Typically most staff crack a smile when someone enters or exits. I will say if I was not there with other friends I would have walked out tonight. Thankfully my friends and our server made our experience pleasant. There are too many other deserving restaurants that are kind and appreciative to their paying patrons that deserve to be supported. I will be thinking twice before spending money at an establishment that treats its patrons this way.

I really can't describe how much I love this place. It pushes all my buttons with its artsy, cozy, unpretentious atmosphere, its impeccable hospitality, and the owners' commitment to offering only the best.
