The food, the atmosphere, & the service is all wonderful. We love it here, it’s our favorite pho place in Richmond. It feels like coming to eat at your families house, always perfect.

This restaurant has my whole heart and my # 1 favorite restaurant in Richmond. The pho always tastes unreal, the spring rolls are amazing with the tastiest peanut sauce, and anytime we venture into other parts of the menu, we’ve never been let down. The owner is always so kind and a pleasure to be served by. I love this business not only for its food, but also because of how genuine and hardworking the owner and his family are too. I could not recommend this place more!

Came here for the first time and not impressed with the food . Pho broth has no flavor. A few strands of cilantro in the soup . I could hardly see them! Usually other pho place gives you plenty of cilantro! I think I will stick to my usual place. I read so much about this place so I wanted to give it a try and I expected better food based on the reviews.

So I’ve been wanting to come here for a while and I had really high hopes for this place. The place’s decor and atmosphere was top notch, really loved the designing of it. However, the food was just okay. The broth was phenomenal but other than that, it was just alright. The meat tasted old, the noodles were over cooked, the pork was burnt and rough and didn’t taste as great as I had hoped. The Vietnamese coffee was just okay as well. I guess I was expecting more given the reviews and the awards it’s won. The servers were amazing and kind, really great people who work a lot given the small space. I’ll be sticking to my usual pho spot but I’m glad I gave this place a try

Easily the best pho in the area. There can be a wait sometimes but it’s definitely worth it. Great service and the nicest server. Love getting the coffee with condensed milk, papaya salad, fried pork rolls and the #12 pho and load it up with all the extras and spicy stuff. Just remember it’s cash only!

I really expected to like this place. Broth is weak, needs lots of seasoning. A few tiny scraps of meat in my dish. Bowl was small as well, and the noodles were in a tight ball, like they just came out of the freezer. Vietnamese coffee was also weak and generally disappointing. There is much better Pho in the area. Service was great, but I left hungry.

Jeeze… like what happened, one moment I was enjoying the flavor of that succulent YET perfectly grilled pork chop… IT magically disappeared!!! That was one of the best meals in the area, and I’ve been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants particularly IN this area!!!. I can see why the reviews are amazing. I can’t wait to be a regular here!!!

Best pho in rva and maybe in the US.

Charming little place with only eleven tables. I have been wanting to try their pho since the reviews were so positive. Came at 1:30 PM on a Friday, there were three parties in front of us already been waiting. We were seated in 10 minutes. The owner/waiter was very friendly and efficient. He seems to know most of his customers by name. The place is very unique with interesting decorations. Unfortunately I am not a fan of their food. The pho broth lacked the strong flavors of beef bones being cooked for hours. Grilled Pork over Rice and Grilled Beef over Rice was OK, nothing special. From the look of it, I was really hoping that this could be my go to place for Pho, but it will not be. Please note that this is a CASH Only business and they are closed on Wednesdays. They close at 5 PM expect Sunday at 4 PM. I applaud that the owners are making time for themselves besides running a successful business.

Been wanting to here for some time. Waited an hour to get a table. Not worth the wait. The portions are small. They cheap out on the meat. I think my large bowl had 3 large pieces of the raw beef, 2 small pieces of tendon and then some small chunks of brisket. The coffee was weak. The server was busy but not rude. He was probably the best part. There are weird paintings of people on the wall. A wood carving of Adam and Eve. A woman bathing in a River? Doesn’t make sense.

Parking sucks, cash only sucks. Crispy rolls were more like soggy rolls. The ribeye in pho tai was tough,fatty and over cooked. Maybe I'll try again for the shrimp pho. I do like the weird random cut outs on the walls.

The waiting is pretty annoying. When you walk in no name is taken or written down for your party. Pretty Disorganized. Cash only! How? The PHO is good but not worth the crazy disorganized method of waiting they put you through.

My Fiance and I were driving back from our anniversary trip and decided to stop by for some pho. We don’t live far from Eden center and have had really good pho in the past but this place was by far the best pho we’ve had to date. I’m Vietnamese and it tasted like home. This place had such friendly service and we’ll definitely make the 2 hour drive back whenever we can. Also PSA this place is CASH ONLY but the 7-eleven is 1 min away and has and ATM. Please show this place some love they 1000% deserve all the praise

Fantastic food, and very consistent. One of my favorite restaurants ever. The Bun bowls and pho are exquisite and well priced. Amazing service as well. When you’re there, they really make you feel like family.

5/5 - highly recommend eating here at least once. Let me start by saying that the 5-star atmosphere is not an indication of this being a michelin star rated restaurant. But it is an authentic, small, cash only, family-run place with hand-made decorations and TONS polaroids of customers (which have their own story). Combined with amazing food and service makes the atmosphere 5/5 perfect for the restaurants in the US where you tend to find the best Asian flavors. Go here and you'll understand. Pho Tay Do does not disappoint on any measure! The Pho is the star here and rightfully so. The broth is well balanced, savory and delicious but will not overpower the additional ingredients you add. The options are all amazing, and if you are new to Pho you can keep it simple with brisket or a round-eye cut (Pho Tai, #15, was fantastic!). If you eat a lot of Pho, get the #1- it is hard to beat. Like so much of the world's best food it is packed with ingredients that are considered the "junk" parts of animals (e.g. tripe). But they are used masterfully, and combine to make Richmond's best Pho! The egg rolls and fried rice were also great, and if someone is not up for soup they will find things on the menu to eat that are also good. But please try the Pho! P.S. parking is in the very small lot on or the street, so it is somewhat limited.

This place has great broth but the environment is borderline chaos on the staff side,there's basically one guy running the dining room & directing traffic into the restaurant,you're gonna wait at least 20 minutes to be seated while you basically stand in a front year waiting to be called,once you seated you're gonna wait another 30 minutes until the one guy taking orders will be around to take your order,as a business owner I would have moved locations to better serve my patrons & also the bottom line of my sales,another thing was they only take cash & they round off your bill of sale which seems shady to sat the least,if you have over an hour to eat then I'd recommend this place but if you have somewhere to be in a specific time frame then I would avoid this place.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant!!! The service was incredible (just remember to bring cash- the 7Eleven around the corner has got you covered if you’re low.) and the food was amazing! We especially loved the papaya salad with beef and our pho which was rich and complex. Perfect for a date paired with an adventure at the ice rink :) couldn’t recommend enough.

Got shrimp rolls, and brisket/ eye of round pho. The broth is some of the best pho broth I've tasted. Loads of flavor, and really don't have to add stuff to it and you'll still think it's amazing. But I added Sriracha, hoison sauce, and they had some house made chili oil with one other sauce (not sure what it was made of but I dove it and loved all of it lol) You'll have to be patient and more than likely wait. But the food is exceptional

Just went to eat here. It was really good!! I got the pho ga and everything was excellent! The broth, noodles, and the chicken was really good. Would definitely come again.

Do not recommend this place. We came in and waited over 40 minutes for summer roll, pho, and rice platter. Pho had a weird taste. Pork chop was flavorful which earned an extra star. We only asked how much longer the wait will be after waiting for 40 minutes and the server was so rude. He told us we’re not allowed to rush him and also said we shouldn’t go out to eat if we can’t wait. Customer service and food is so much better at other places in Richmond. Definitely would not be back.

Are you hungover as hell? Get some pho. I’ve walked (crawled) into this building after a weekend of too much fun, feeling like an actual dumpster fire in human form, and left feeling like a fresh young thing that’s never tasted the devils fire water. Tay Do is a special place. The owners and employees will take care of you and always make sure to get to know you, to the point of memorizing their countless regulars orders. They may or may not have memorized my phone number from so many to go orders….not sorry. It’s super local and a word of mouth kind of place and let’s not forget - cash only! Now get up off the bathroom floor and go get some pho. Your body will thank you.

Pho was great, very tasty broth that had me drinking from the bowl by the end. After seeing the fried spring rolls the table next to ordered, I know I made a mistake by not getting some. Finished off our meal with Vietnamese cold brew with condensed milk that hit the spot after the warm pho. Service was incredible. Our waiter made us feel like old friends and kept things moving smoothly in the small dining room. Cash only and bring extra because your going to want to leave a big tip.
