Went there yesterday for the first and last time ! To start , when our food arrived it was cold.. like it had been sitting in the fridge and was microwaved for a few minutes and it tasted exactly like it had been sitting in the fridge for a few days. The MAC and cheese was dry, the ribs had a weird taste to it and the corn bread was store bought. I didn’t return the food cause my daughter paid for it and didn’t want ( a scene ) well long story short , I was extremely disappointed ☹️

The ribs were great! We also had Cowboy Baked Beans, cornbread, and collard greens as sides, which were all very good. Fair prices for what you get. Highly recommended.

I can honestly say this is the best bbq I have had in connecticut. We came in 20 minutes before they closed and the food was still out of this world. The smoked chicken fell right off the bone I didn't even expect it and the pulled pork melted in your mouth.

We had a 50th birthday catered by Pig Rig this past weekend. I was looking at food truck options and happened upon Pig Rig. I reached out to them and immediately heard back and started the planning process. From the beginning, I was impressed with the promptness and customer service. The planning was easy as we discussed the catering option. This worked out great allowing more food options and more time for the guests to eat at their leisure. Communication was always spot on, with requested changes to the menu made with ease. The day of, the food was on time and delicious! The delivery guy was so polite, helpful and professional. He went out of his way to to the extras to make the experience top notch! Thank you Pig Rig!!!

We had Pig Rig BBQ Cater my brothers 40th birthday party and everyone, and i mean everyone LOVED the food. Completely blown away. People were making plates to bring home it was that good. The delivery driver arrived early, helped unload everything and was extremely polite and courtesy. The ordering process was easy and they talked us through everything. The extra sauces you can order are also out of this world!!! I personally would recommend the Jerk Chicken. It's hard to find a good Jerk recipe outside of the Caribbean but this place nails it. I would Highly recommend trying this place if you haven't already, we've tried a lot of BBQ joints in CT over the last few years and this place is by far the best BBQ we have ever had.

Couldn’t say enough great things about PigRig. We had our daughters Graduation Party last weekend and everything was amazing! From the wonderful setup to the delicious food everything was perfect. Their customer service is above and beyond and we will be frequent customers going forward. Do not hesitate to order from this amazing business. You will not be disappointed!

Traveling from Texas and looking for great BBQ, I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem. Veteran owned, truly knows how to BBQ and host a great, comfortable atmosphere to dine. I would recommend to anyone looking for great BBQ who happens to be in the area.

I had pulled chicken, mac n cheese, collard greens, and corn bread and they all were amazing!! I will definitely go back. If you haven't be there yet make sure you do.

The food was barely average. I had 1/2 rack ribs which didn’t have a lot of smoke or flavor and the cole slaw was really mushy and was room temperature. Corn bread was good. I’m sure there is better BBQ locally.

Catered a party for me, everyone raved about the food. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly, wonderful to work with and delivery was on time.

Ordered food from Uber ea6s didn't get two of my sides i ordered. The Brisket was very nasty burnt old and dry, the ribs was small burnt dry with no meat, everything was dry no sauce given, this place needs to be shut down the food is very nasty. Do not waste your money here there ate so much better bbq to get food from.

Not the best BBQ I have come across. Came on a Sunday at lunchtime and the place was empty. Ordered a two meat platter, pork and brisket, side of collard greens. Pork was chopped versus pulled. Not particularly smokey. I probably missed it on the menu, but the brisket was shedded, not sliced, and just didn't taste good at all. I stopped trying to eat it after a few bites and sauce combos cause I just could not find a way to make it taste like brisket. The collards were the best thing I ordered. Soda fountain was out of order too.

I dunno Pig. The pulled pork was overly soaked and practically swimming in grease. Looked like the Connecticut River after rain soaked days. No thanks. Small portions for pricey prices. I was disappointed

I order through doordash. Most recently I ordered the 2 meat combo with beans and a side of potato salad. The meat was brisket & pulled pork. Both were moist and delicious as well as the beans and corn bread. The potato salad had onions in it which I am not a fan of, so I only had a bite, but the flavor was not of a storemade variety. I asked for sauces on the side (Carolina & KC). The Carolina was spicy which I was not expecting at all. Overall, I enjoyed the food and plan on ordering again sometime.

I had catered food from the Pig Rig BBQ for an Open House Event yesterday March 12th 2024 for Central Turf & Irrigation the event was for 100 people. I called Brenna at the Pig Rig BBQ to schedule the food and time and date the whole process was great. The whole staff at The Pig Rig are awesome. The food showed up on time and everyone loved the food. Best BBQ in the state. I have catered from the Pig Rig BBQ for our last 3 events and will continue to have them Cater our food for our events. The best BBQ in the area. Excellent pulled pork, ribs, burnt ends, brisket and even smoked turkey. Their Cowboy Beans, intensely rich and smoky, are addictive. The folks there are nice too. Eat in or take out. You will be very happy.

(My order for this review: Pulled pork, ribs, cowboy beans, collard greens, Mac and cheese, cornbread) This spot is a must try if you like BBQ/southern-style cooking. Ribs, pulled pork, and sides are good enough to hold their own even if this restaurant was in SC or north GA. Great variety of sauces, my personal favorite is the spicy BBQ sauce. Service is excellent, very friendly atmosphere. Try it once, and you’ll definitely keep coming back.

Edited from 5 star to 3 star most recent experience. I ordered $49 worth of food for pickup based off their website menu, and upon arrival I'm rung up to a total over $70. I told them there may be a mistake because I used the menu off their website and it only totaled about $50. I was then informed they raised their prices but haven't gotten around to updating the website. I expressed I didn't have enough to cover that much and ended up leaving without any food. A 45% increase to food prices from just 3 months ago seems a bit extreme. Review from 3 months prior - This is the best bbq I've had in Connecicut. Always delicious and I think they're pricing is great. I would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic cowboy beans, cornbread and pulled pork. Unfortunately my favorite BBQ, burnt ends were not great and doesn't seem to be actual burnt ends just cut up fatty brisket.

Definitely a cool little spot, the employees were friendly, and I can’t lie the food was pretty good. However the price does not match the quality. I got two combo meals for a friend and I, it was one sandwich, one side, and a piece of cornbread. We asked for butter and ended up getting frozen ones. The total almost came out to $50 which is just ridiculous for this kind of food I’m sorry. I enjoyed the atmosphere but I wouldn’t return simply for how expensive it is.

Absolutely phenomenal BBQ. There’s other food options in the area (Chipotle, Chik Fil A etc) but you are doing yourself a MAJOR disservice if you go to those chains over this.

Pig Rig is a total miss for me. Immediately off-put entering the store - not with the employees, who were friendly enough, but the menu. Seems like the bare minimum to keep your website/menu updated, but prices in-store were roughly 50% higher than what their online menu shows. Whether just plain laziness or an intentional bait and switch, it shows a total lack of care by the business for the customer. It should be the bare minimum to keep that kind of thing updated. Food: Got the carolina pulled-pork sandwich combo. Food also shows a lack of care. The only saving grace of the sandwich was that it was hefty. Problem is, the floppy bun wasn't enough to handle the heft. And the coleslaw.. oof. You eat with your eyes first, and this sandwich needed an exorcism. All you can see protruding from the bun is a layer of unappetizing purple mush they called "slaw." The pork itself had little if any bark or smoky flavor, and tasted like it'd been sitting around all day. I've made better pulled pork in my crockpot. I shouldn't be able to do better in my crockpot. Sides were fine. Mac & Cheese was probably the best part of the combo; cornbread was edible, but forgettable. Won't be returning.

Nice, clean, relaxing environment. Great service. The food was good and on par with most BBQ places. The beans were tasty and there was plenty of meat added to the beans.

Always have heard of this place, not sure what took me so long to actually get here considering I live 15 mins away. This is hands down the best BBQ I've had in quite a while. I can actually taste the meat, not just the sauce, I like how they didn't over do it with the sauce, it was just the right combo. I got mac and cheese as a side, and wish I had gotten an extra side of it, it was so damn good. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

Very tasty meal. My 14 year old was amazed and did not pick over the onions. We had the Moo sandwich with a side of bean and also the hot dog with beans. We will definitely go back and try other things on the menu when in the area. I will try the ribs next.

We rented the food truck for a surprise 60th birthday party. We had a few unforeseen changes in venue due to the amount of people and the weather not cooperating. Pig Rig arrangements were the least of my worries! They rolled with the changes and it was perfect! Food was delicious and the guests all let me know how much they enjoyed. Shout out to Brenna for being an amazing wingman as I pulled this off! Thank you and highly recommend!

Family of 6, ordered with ease. Place is very clean inside and decorated with fun music decor! Which was a relief, truly you never really know what you will get in a plaza in a town you've never been to. Let's talk about the food... ages ranging from 9 up to 46 in our group throughly enjoyed every thing we ordered. The ribs were just enough smoke and BBQ, tender and delicious. The pulled pork & brisket were perfectly seasoned and then we added a variety of their sauces to try each one. House, Carolina and Jerk were our favorites. Get the mac & cheese. Collard Greens were bacon soaked goodness. Cole slaw was refreshing & tasty -different from the classic (boring) slaw. Corn bread, was like a little sweet cake. We will be back on our next trip to the area!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this business. I had my son’s graduation party catered, and we all know that can come with anxiety. They helped me create an order, communicated everything in detail with me, arrived on time, were super friendly and professional, and the food was simply amazing. I want to have another party next summer just so I have an excuse to get their food again! Highly recommend!!!!

Great BBQ and a great price. I had the pulled pork sandwich which came with baked beans and cornbread. The beans were fantastic as was the cornbread. If you like BBQ definitely check them out. Plenty of seating and it was clean.

I have to admit I was unsure how this meal would be, it can be challenging to make a really good mac and cheese, potato salad and anything with sweet potatoes. They hit all of the spots and I will be back. The potato salad had just the right dill and sauce. The ribs were tender and the sauce was tasty. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. And I really wish I would have ordered more of the cinnamon sweet potato loaf. That was amazing! January 2023 I ordered: Full rack platter (meaty baby backs) Mac and cheese (creamy and cheesy) Potato salad (made well, not too saucy and red bliss were cooked perfectly-I did not taste Dill this time around), Cinnamon sweet potato loaf. (Moist and not too sweet) I added a side of Collards (finely chopped/flavored well) and another cinnamon sweet potato loaf. There is no salt needed to be added to any of these items. I added black pepper. The Collards and mac n cheese container look small, however it gave ME three servings. Their food seems to have gotten better!! It was really good before but I could taste a difference. My total was just under $53, and that included $11 tip, $6 delivery fee and $3 tax. I was discounted 30% by GrubHub as a welcome back. This is a must-try!!

Two native Texans approve!!!!! This place has the vibe of real bbq and the quality of the meat matches up. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone, the brisket is legit, and the sauce is just right. High marks for the beans, peanut butter pie, and the corn bread.

Today my best friend and I tried Pig Rib BBQ for the first time and it was AMAZING. We will definitely be back for more. I loved the MooMac Sandwich and Red Bliss Potato salad. Great food for a great price.

It's been a while since I have been here so decided to treat myself. I was happy to see that the place was busy and I ordered a chicken sandwich and the coleslaw. The chicken was great with the house sauce and the coleslaw was excellent. Will be back and possibly having the food truck come to my office.

It’s difficult for me to enjoy barbecue after visiting Kansas City, Missouri. However, this place is decent with affordable pricing.

We catered Pig Rig BBQ for a wedding shower this past weekend and the food was amazing! Many of our guests wanted to know where the food came from. It was delivered and set up by a very polite and competent young man. All dishes were labeled and hot! I would without a doubt use them again!!

Was not very impressed with their Brisket they shredded it and it was dry. The rib are very good Fall off the bone. Burt end where ok.

Still the same great food like they used to have when they served out of the rig at the other end of town in the old Barker's parking lot. First time I have been to the restaurant and I was pleased with what I found. Keep up the great food, I will be back.

BBQ places have a flaw, if it ain't busy, it ain't worth it and yes this place can get busy. I work in the plaza and when you can smell it, when there is a flow of people, the BBQ is hot, juicy and pretty good flavor. Mac N cheese is meh (more texture than flavor) , cornbread (no please not the cornbread) is overbaked, and potato salad is pretty good. The downside here is consistency of quality which is behind my low score and I get that it's the hardest part of a BBQ joint. Storage needs to be looked at as most of the time you're getting dried out meat that's been sitting around before getting suspiciously reheated. I don't know if it was a microwave but it wasn't hot that's for sure. The flavor is fine just keep getting dry meat and when it's dry expect it to sit in your stomach for the rest of the day. Smell before entering, fresh off the smoker and grill you bet this'll be the spot.

Clean friendly the food was great!! Took my brother and nephew from Georgia first time all the things I heard about how good everything is was true did not dissapoint!

Been eating from this place since they started out as a food truck and the quality has never ceased to amaze me. This place will leave you having wet dreams of their pig mac for days to come. If you're a fan of barbecue this place is a must try.

I do wish them the best but I think all barbeque places need to have. Killer Mac and cheese. Theirs needs some work. The meat tasted good.

First time here I thought it was going to be a delicious barbecue they had only chicken thighs no other option for chicken I have got the ribs they were not as good as I thought they would be very fatty and the cornbread was as hard as a board won't be going back and the lady at the register that took the order she wasn't that friendly

Great food. Friendly, helpful staff who were very patient. We were suspect if the collard greens but they were great. The pulled pork was excellent. Many sauces to choose from. Cole slaw and potato salad were very good. I also enjoyed the chicken sandwich with Carolina barb q sauce. The price was right for barbq. I was passing through our I'm within 30 miles.

Stopped for a quick dinner on our way from NYC to Boston. Food was yummy and the service was friendly and quick. Would definitely stop again. Right off the Parkway, very easy on and off.

I have used Pig Rig 2 times now. Once for my "I Do BBQ" with about 200 people, and once for my mothers 50th birthday for only 15 people. Both times everything was perfect! Prices are reasonable and everything is amazing and delicious. The Pulled Pork is AMAZING, the mac n' cheese is AMAZING, the chicken thighs were AMAZING. so literally everything is cooked perfectly. for the BBQ they did delivery and were right on time, there was more than enough food and we had plenty of left overs :) I will definitely be using them in the future and recommending them to everyone! Thank you!

Amazing prices, great food, clean dining area, and the staff were very friendly. Definitely a recommended BBQ place in my book! The only thing is it’s not fresh out so it wasn’t hot, still worth it though.

My employer ordered trays of meat for a luncheon so we could make our own sandwiches...all I can say is YUM!! The meat was tender and flavorful and the sauces were delicious. We ate like kings and queens AND there were still leftovers (I definately wasnt sad that I was sent home with a tray...my family also throughly enjoyed it)

I live in Fort Worth, TX, and was on business trip in Wallingford. I dropped into the Pig Rig for dinner. Had a brisket sandwich and potato salad, and it was fantastic! Great flavor, and the staff was super friendly.

I had a smoked chicken sandwich combo,what a disappointment sandwich was very dry and not moist and very little sauce was on it they should at least give a side of sauce seeing that the sandwich is not saturated in the sauce very disappointed

If you're looking for good BBQ this place is worth checking out. I'd recommend the burnt ends platter with the cowboys beans as a side.

We were so excited that we forgot to take pictures, haha. We eat out very often and are particular about the places we go to. This little hole in the wall passed with flying colors. What we ordered & our thoughts: Full rack of ribs - 5/10 least liked of the items, they were spare ribs vs baby back, lots of inedible parts. Taste was 10/10 though. Beef brisket sandwich - not dry, flavorful, 9/10 Moomac sandwich - heaven in a sandwich 10/10 The Jamaican with mac & cheese - 8/10 if you love spicy, this is it! Reese’s pie - a definite must try, wasn’t too sweet Red bliss potato salad - a must try Summary: We’d go here again, no debate.

I highly recommend Pig Rig ribs. I ate two for thanksgiving and the next morning my back and foot pain were completely gone! Best BBQ in Connecticut.

Nice flavors. Got a pulled pork sandwich with slaw, corn bread and Mac and cheese. Not to expensive but it was messy. Shame that I had to use Napkins. Lol

First time trying this place and it was good but I do have a couple of complaints. I ordered 4 hot dogs, 2 with cowboy beans, 1 bbq, 1 with chili. The cowboy beans and the chili were amazing. The hot was good too. My complaint about the hot dogs is that the chef buttered the hot dog bun but didn’t toast it. So here I have this delicious hot dog with toppings but a buttery soggy bun. I couldn’t eat it. Next complaint is the prices, one price online, another in person. Fix your prices guys.

Been quite a while since I was at the Pig Rig as it has been very busy with work. But was in the mood so decided to go back, and it did not disappoint. First, facility has been upgraded since I was last here, and it looks great. Second, service always perfect. I ordered the Brisket sandwich combo with Mac and cheese and cornbread. The brisket was amazing and the Mac and cheese was perfect. I ate the cornbread, but not as good as in past as it was dry. Regardless of the cornbread, still great and I will return!
