Ordered take out here twice. The food was amazing. We did not have to wait long for our food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Their pita bread is amazing. The pork is incredible. Love coming here.

Like a true Greek place, the best place to eat is outside! As soon as I walked in, the smell took me back to Greece. The chicken souvlaki was amazing. I recommend getting the Saganaki for appetizer.

A hidden treasure. This place is amazing. We’ve been several times since the new owners took over (take out and dine in) and every time it’s delicious. George and Despina are an absolute pleasure and really care about the quality of their food and customers. We lived in Astoria where there are a lot of Greek restaurants and we’ve missed being able to go out for Greek food. If you look at the menu and wonder what to have, it’s all great, all the way from the appetizers (make sure you have the tzatziki- it’s freshly made with real yogurt) to the deserts. You can’t miss which isn’t surprising once you hear George’s history in the culinary industry.

Went from 2 stars to 3 stars: Up date we came back for a 2nd try. Below you will see my first review. We order Dolmadas ( Homemade stuffed Grape leaves) Good flavor as well as good size. We also shared the spinach pie plater. We can definitely taste the spinach however it was lack feta flavor. We shared the gyro plater. The pork skewer was very chewy and salted. The gyro meat was 9n the dry side but once you put it tge pita and Tzatziki it was pretty good. .........my first review: Small place that is not your goto dinner spot for a romantic getaway. They do offer home mad dishes. We just had the Greek salad with homemade dressing. The dressing was lacking any flavor. Just olive oil.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Opa. The owner and his wife provided a wonderful dining experience. The food was truly authentic Greek cuisine and tasted great!!! My son and loved every moment!!! Come and eat at Opa!!! You'll love it!!!!!

Very impressive! I expected a typical falafel sandwich, but the pita, falafel, and tahini were surprisingly good and seemed homemade. The pita was buttery and the falafel and tahini had different flavors. So good! I think they added a little lemon. 🤤

Outstanding Greek food. There was a group of us and we all tried different dishes and everyone enjoyed it. We had a gyro, soulvaki and gyro platter. The meats are tender and seasoned well. The soups are so good and a nice assortment of Greek desserts. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I went for dinner tonight. This is the 3rd time we have eaten there and the food is great every time. Tonight we ordered the appetizer of dolmades and they were great. My husband ordered the Greek Combo platter #1 and I ordered the Falafel Gyro. Both meals were delicious. The food is fresh and we got our meals pretty fast. It is a nice family-owned business. They take great pride in their business, and they actively engage with their customers.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to people because the food is delicious, friendliness of the staff is good, pleasant atmosphere,etc. You get your money's worth at this restaurant!

Edit: business replied rudely. I clearly said in the review you were nice, i cant help if the food was not good. Also you didnt give me extra fries and a free drink. You said the kids meal came with a chicken skewer, fries and a drink. Since you charged me but forgot to include the fries and drink, when i came back you provided me with the things you charged me for. Also i am allergic to cucumbers which is why I get tahini dressing on my gyro. Most places have some kind of dressing they make- tahini based sauce like a dip with oil and garlic and spices. Now reading the response sounds like they just scooped plain tahini paste straight out of the jar which explains why it was a gritty paste. Gyro was dry and had weird texture and an aftertaste. Kind of gritty while also chalky. I was charged $10 for a kids meal. They gave us 1 stick with some grilled chicken cubes. Thats it for $10. I went back in to ask what happened to the rest of the kids meal. They did apologize and add some fries but thats still not a great deal. $10 for 1 stick of chicken and fries. They also offered a root beer on the house for the trouble which was nice. The staff were all nice. By the time I waited for the forgotten fries however the rest of my food was cold. I thought they were affiliated with the other Opa greek restaurants in the region, but they seem to not be the same chain. The fries were standard big box store krinkle kind.

Food here is absolutely incredible! The grape leaves are so delicious - I’ve never had ones like this that were so comforting to eat. We got the chicken souvlaki and beef/lamb gyro platter and it was a hit. Everything is amazing here even the Opa soda!

2nd time trying to order and absolutely disrespectful while calling to place order over the phone. I’m not sure if it was the owner or who it was but totally different experience from the 1st time i ordered. You don’t get attitude and be rude to new customers especially when you are a new restaurant. You lost business as I went to a different competitor. My advice would be to speak with respect to customers and create a good image, otherwise you tarnish your reputation.

Had lunch here and ordered the Pork souvlaki. My friend had the chicken souvlaki. Both were delicious! My Pork was tender and marinated perfectly. I took two desserts home, the baklava and orange cake and both were also very good. This is a great place for a casual meal. Service is friendly and prices are a good value!

All 6 of thought the food was good. No frills but straight forward Greek dishes. More of a to go type of place thus the low atmosphere rating. Will go back.

Such a great Greek spot!!! I got the gyro platter my husband got combo #2 which was the gyro platter as well as chicken skewer. Everything was fresh and so delicious! The lemon potatoes my husband got were so good! We got baklava to go. The owner and everyone working was welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be making regular visits!!

I ordered the opa fire beef & lamb gyro $12, added extra tzatziki sauce $2 and french fries $3.95. First I will say, this had no spice at all, it was supposed to come with spicy tzatziki sauce and it did not, the beef and lamb was dry and very little fries added to the plate. The whole thing was blah, for $17.95 this was not worth it at all.

The food was sooooo goood. 🤤 I didn’t remember to take a picture before eating. I had to stop myself so I could take a pic. 😂😂 The chef/owner and wife were very sweet and catered to my little one. The food also came out very quickly. I ordered the chicken souvlaki sandwich and spinach pie with a greek salad. My little one loved the salad, chicken and fries. Dad ordered chicken souvlaki platter. Everything had generous portions and was soo good. The chicken was sooo juicy and the spinach pie was so flavorful. This meal definitely just made me a regular 😊💕

I’ve been looking for a Greek cuisine spot for a while now relatively close to my area, ever since my Doctor recommended a Mediterranean style diet and ever since I discovered what Pastitsio is through a TV show last year and ever since I came of age to find out what those green leaf wrapped things were in the grocery store as a kid. (Dolmades) Opa Greek Restaurant and Pizza is my first time having Greek food. I’ve been ordering different things off of the menu, 5 times in a week and George is consistent in quality, authenticity and being prompt. His attitude and demeanor is enthusiastically friendly, loquacious and he values his customers. The dolmades were amazing, the pastitsio was unlike anything I’ve ever had. The rice is delectable as well. Not to mention the Greek cheese balls, the fresh hummus, great Gryos, the avgolemono soup, the best salad I’ve ever had. The Saganaki, the Moussaka, the Spinach Pie and the Souvlaki Platter were🤌 The taramasalata dip and the Tirokafteri dip and Tzatziki sauce from scratch are amaze balls as well as the Orange Cake and Walnut Cake. Wash it down with some Epsa! I wish you continued success!

I had a delicious lunch today with my family, gyro, spanakopita, Greek salad, and ravani for dessert.

This place is amazing! Best greek food I've ever had. The staff are excellent and very friendly. The place is new, so the menu is a bit limited at the moment - but is a work in progress. Went here today with my partner (who is a a bit of a snob when it comes to Mediterranean food), and he swears by the food. He says the food is beautiful, and in all the years that he's lived here, it's the closest thing he's ever tasted to food from his homeland. Definitely a must eat!

Spanokopita and Greek salad were delicious. Gyro and Gyro platter were just okay. Tzatziki sauce was lacking, wish it had more garlic and dill.

Delicious straight forward greek food. The grape leaves are very flavorful, the gyro meat and souvlaki are well seasoned, the salads are fresh, and the falafel is so tasty as well as the hummus. My husband and i tried them recently and went back again a few days later because we enjoied the food so much. So far the chicken souvlaki and lamb souvlaki gyros are our favorite along with the very well seasoned falafel. Definitely going to get takeout from here more often.

Order was wrong, food is terrible now. Place went downhill ever since his wife Aphrodite stopped working for them. She always got the order correct and made the food with love. I will not be eating here anymore.

Update: The response from the business is appreciated, however there is no mention of "bring in your receipt/pictures and we'll refund or replace everything that was missing or incorrect." Anytime I've tried to broach the subject with the man who is usually in charge on weekdays he says, "my daughter handles that" and pleads ignorance. After so many orders I'm out over $100 on food that was never received or was incorrect/missing the majority of ingredients, etc. I'd love to continue supporting a small family owned business that I honestly enjoy, but how when I have no recourse? Okay someone finally needs to be honest about what a s%*& show this place can be. The food is good, no doubt. But good luck getting it! When Aphrodite is working you'll have a little more luck. Otherwise... yeah. We've ordered over a dozen times, every single time was a nightmare. No order is ever quite right, you won't get a refund or be comped for it either. The few times we tried eating in it took 2-3+ hours to be served, we never got the drinks we ordered, the charges were wrong. Each time we eventually gave up and asked for the food to-go, and when it finally arrived it was missing ingredients. Never once had a comped drink or dessert for all the hassle (not that we would expect it to actually come, so no difference). After 6 months of swearing I wouldn't put us through that another time I tried again. My greek salad was missing olives, feta, dressing, and tomatoes. My husband's pizza was wrong and his side of tzatziki was not only missing but charged as the $8 appetizer, not the small side he ordered that costs under $1. People were upset that day and literally screaming while in line, I just don't understand how no one has left this review before. Enjoyable food but I'm done. Fool me a dozen+ times, shame on me!

The food was DELICIOUS, fresh, and reasonably priced. Service was so thoughtful, a tad slow, but for fresh, delicious food, it was no big deal. We were in no rush, and we had an amazing lunch. Very unassuming strip mall location, but lovely inside and we had a fantastic lunch. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. I think there is a small service fee for credit cards. I wish we would have gotten dessert. I only got a picture of the salad and after I inhaled my meal. My kids got the chicken souvlaki dinner and I got the shrimp skewers dinner. Also got the mozzarella sticks. I wish I lived closer and could go back and try the rest of the menu!!

Best food and great servers! Coming here for the fourth time, and oh boy! I am a big fan of this place. I recommend all sauces/dips (so authentic!), pita, pizza, and gyros. You cannot beat the price with this yummy taste.

I saw all the reviews about this place and figured we should stop by and give it a try as I love Greek food. The service was slow to come to our table and take our orders, then after we placed orders the food took very long to arrive. I ordered the pork and chicken souvlaki, and Greek salad. It was very dry, almost charcoal burnt. The salad was the only good thing. But the worst part for me was when we went to pay. The greek woman at the register ripped us off $10!! When I asked why it was more expensive, she said that the prices had just gone up because they are now importing their ingredients from Greece! It is highly illegal and unethical to charge more money than what is on the menu! That is theft! Either way we won’t be returning to this spot. This place needs better management!

This was my first time trying mediterranean food and I loved every single thing I ordered. Plus, the service was easily one of the best I’ve ever had at any restaurant. Simply loved it.

I came here a Sunday evening for dinner with my husband and one friend. The food was very good, I am a fan of Greek cuisine so I really loved the tzatziki sauce, the pita, the lemon chicken , the salad which was beautifully dressed and the shrimp skewers. Everybody at my table loved the soup of the day - which was not even complete so I cannot even imagine how tasty it could be with all the ingredients ! I also tried the Greek coffee which was great and it was accompanied by some lovely typical Greek cookies! There were some items missing in the menu, but the imperfections were compensated by the friendliest staff ever and I could feel the passion and the warmth of the girl who served us. She was also so knowledgeable of all the dishes, very kind and she let us staying in the local for as long as we want even though they had to close. Sometimes, kindness, fun and warmth are the fundamental ingredients for a business, along with good food. Thanks for bringing a piece of Greece in New Jersey, we will be back again to try new things we didn’t have the chance to try yet. Very good prices also.

This place is fantastic. The food I fresh and made to order. The best Greek Salad in town.

I had a late lunch early dinner, so it was quiet. I had the Gyro dinner plate with carrots and some lightly seasoned baked potato pieces. A greek salad and dolmades with tzatziki dipping sauce. If I could rate this place a 10, I would give it an 11. Next time I pass through here I will definitely eat here again.

What an amazing little gem... tasty authentic Greek flavors and fresh ingredients shipped from Greece every week. We were welcomed amd served by the Greek goddess Aphrodite. Went with 20 people and everyone was happy. The kids had pizza which looked delicious and 9 kids ate 3 pies if that tell you anything... Will definitely be back. Try the Greek lemonade. Thanks for a great lunch. Will be back for the Greek sausage!

Fresh and tasty! Loved the gyro, the lamb skewer and fresh truffle fries. Great service from this small family owned and run eatery. I can tell they care about their food quality and business. They were busy, so dining areas could have been cleaner. However, will dine there again.

This place is as nice as a small business can get! The staff is kind, respectful, and fast which was nice considering it was a holiday. The pirogies are to die for both types on the menu are a great. I wish there was more diversity in the drinks options but overall a perfect experience! If you are trying to pick a place to eat that’s quick, cheap and delicious you found it here

The food here is awesome! The flavors are so great and the ingredients are so fresh!

The food was amazing.....I ate the traditional gyro..... There were 7 people in my party and we all left satisfied.... From the gyros to the burger, right down to the chicken tenders that the kids don't steer away from, but that's another story.... You order your food, and then sit down.. But the cook went out of his way to serve us at our table.. Humble people

This post is about my first visit. They work with Slice as a partner for ordering. Their in store system failed, and from what I gathered they have no secondary plan to contact Slice to prevent future orders, so when I arrived they didn’t even know I had ordered. Not a huge deal on it’s own since they immediately put together my order. I showed the order to the person at the front and heard him communicate it to the cook. When I got home an went to eat, the order had fries, not the truffle fries I had paid extra to get. The food was fantastic, so I’ll chalk that experience up to a bad day for them and try again.

The food was delicious and the service was so friendly and accommodating. One of the best Greek restaurants I’ve ever been to, this is the real deal!
