I end up having to come here for a monthly meeting and I wish the group would go anywhere else. The service is always absolutely horrible. The food is okay, but even if it was the best food I ever had I’d still never recommend going there because the service is so poor. My husband and I have got there and were never even acknowledged. This week we were, but once our food was dropped off, she never came back. And the food takes an hour or more to come out. We all have to call our orders in ahead if we don’t want to be there all night. I used to be a server and always tip 20%+ and the service is so bad, $1 seems too nice. Just order dominos or papa John’s and have a better time at home.

So I call pick up of a pizza and when I show up, it’s not ready, it’s a size smaller than I ordered, and it’s not thin crust as requested either. So when I mentioned., ”I’d love the ingredients to cover at least 1/2 the dough”, the staff advised,” OH!! You want a thin crust!”!!! See pics of lack of ingredients and too much dough and ABSOLUTELY no apologies or compensation for screwing my order so I’ll be slow on returning…

Boy was that delicious. Only issue was I asked for a mystery schooner and then was given a choice of 2 beers, ain’t no mystery in dat.

We did not actually eat here but was there for an early morning BNI meeting. The owner was supper nice and gave each attendee a free coupon for Ice Cream man right next door!

Pizza is my comfort food. I came into the Pizza Man hungry, ordered a large Mediterranean, binged on half the pie, enjoyed the mystery schooner and left happy. Hospitable crew. On my way out, I stopped at the Ice Cream Man for desert, hearing they make their own waffle cones. Glad I heard about this place!

Best pizza around hands down!! And their salads can't be beat!! You can really tell they use quality ingredients. We are new to the area and this will be the only place I'll get pizza from now on!

Gosh, where does one start... not aesthetically pleasing upon pulling up, however, never ruled out a restaurant because of that. Nobody greeted/instructed us upon entering. Wait to be seated sign was turned wrong way indicating dining room closed...so, we waited as an employee next to, with back turned to us was fooling around with a picture on the wall. After several minutes, I took upon myself to ask if ok to go right in or wait to be seated. Oh she says, I can take care of you. What an epiphany! The dining area itself had limited seating and appeared, dingy, old, dated worn and yikes...had carpeting, in a restaurant...not good omen. Pizza Man is #1 on TA after all so, gave a chance. BIG mistake. We were a party of 3, 3 people, 3 orders...right? Not so much. After clarifying I wanted a personal pizza for myself, the waitress walked off. My husband had to "reel" her back in to place remaining 2 orders of Chicken Strips and Fries. No too difficult to understand. When our meals arrived there were only 2. 1 pizza, 1 order chicken/fries. The waitress then asked my husband if he wanted a second plate to share it with our daughter. He was like, no, no, no---we ordered 2. Good Gravy. He gave his meal to our daughter and I split my pizza with him until his arrived...which was not immediate. These things happen, right? No worries, the food's supposed to be great here so didn't sweat it. Not so much in that department either. The pizza? I've had better frozen store bought. The taste, sub par to any supermarket offering...and the chicken/fries, most definitely frozen, processed chicken they did not make...and as added bonus, had 1/2 " length sharp piece of bone in it. When we brought to attention of waitress and suggested she inform management about...and that they may want to order from another vendor, she couldn't quite grasp how a chicken strip could have a bone in it because it was "squishy". I mean it's self explanatory, it's chicken. God bless her, pretty little "thang", she tried her best. Oh, and the french fries, over cooked. They were left in fry-o-laytor tooo long. Long/short, the meal was horrible. I split my personal pizza with all as their meals only came with 3 chicken strips, which were not particularly palatable. No dipping sauces for them. Oh, and did I mention the Coke from their machine tasted funky...it did. All this for the total cost of just about $70.00 when tip included. So what's one to do??? Get this: we ate out in Anchorage afterwards. So I tell the waitress at that restaurant what just happened saying all a real "head scratcher" as didn't understand the #1 TA rating...she tells me they probably "bought" their reviews??? Whoa, what...REALLY? Places can do that? I didn't know that sort of thing could be done. Anything goes in this dishonest world I guess. End stop, avoid at ALL costs. Do not be fooled. Especially you"Cruisers"/out of towners who may not know any better.

The service was amazing with a phenomenal selection of beers! The pizza was delicious, they don’t skip on the toppings.

We have been searching for decent pizza for 3 weeks now in Anchorage. This place has delicious pizza. It is worth the drive. I can't wait to try all the other pasta and sandwiches on the menu. Excellent at the end of a 12 hour work day.

Great service!! We bought some delicious pizza. Most of all, when my child jammed the gumball machine with a nickel they not only didn’t seem to mind a bit, three employees quickly unstuck it by holding the entire machine (3 together) upside down to get it out. Very chill about the entire process! And my children got their gumballs. 😁😂

The pizza was pretty lacking the toppings were a little lacking and it was a bit overcooked

I had the build your own canzone again......and again they didn't disappoint with the extra anchovies. Awesome. My family's favorite restaurant in Eagle River. I would like to try other items but I can't get past the Calzone. ..with extra anchovies!

Way better than moose tooth. Moose tooth is mostly hype and touristy, but this place has much better pizza.

We are new to the area and stumbled upon this hidden gem. We’ll definitely be back! Great service and great food, no wonder this place has been in business for so long. Top notch!

When we showed up we waited at the front counter for 5-10 minutes before we were even acknowledged,only two tables were occupied and they told us it would be a 15 minute wait which we weren't bothered by and asked for a beer while we wait. They said no problem, we stood by the bar for 15 minutes while all 5 employees on shift ignored us and avoided eye contact. We were so disappointed by the service and treatment we left after 20 and will never return to this restaurant and will let everyone know how horrible the service is.

The cheese curds here will knock your socks off. Best I’ve had in a very long time. The pizza was good too but not anything worth remembering. We had a great time here overall after a long day.

I only get pizza by the slice and eat at the salad bar. Good salads and great pizza!

If you like pizzas that are loaded with toppings, this is your place. I love a slice that is bending from the weight and they had some like that here. They were really good. I'm not giving 5 stars though, because they are crazy expensive pizzas. You are looking at $18 -$34 a pizza and if I'm dropped $40 on pizza, I'll do Moose's Tooth in Anchorage. If they drop their prices $4-5 bucks a pizza, we would eat there more, but they are just pricey enough that I'm not really interested. Update: we have lowered our rating because they are always so slow and late with the pizza. They will tell us 25-30 mins and we will still show up on the late side and still have to wait fifteen mins and they don't apologize for the inconveniences. They just say "we are slammed" "we are busy". We are kind of done with them because they don't apologize, they are crazy expensive, and always late. The service is okay even in person. It's just too much for what you have to deal with.

I wanted to like this place to support a local business but the food we ordered was awful for what we paid for it which is unfortunate. We had a pizza with olives that were rock hard and pasta which they added ingredients we requested to have removed for someone is our parties food allergies.

My family and I have been a regular for many years, this is the worse service I’ve ever had. Never got silverware or napkins. Took our order…got our wings and one trip salad bar. After a long wait our pizza was not brought out. When asked about pizza she said she would go check on it. Came right back and said she forgot to put pizza order in! How do you forget the main entree….Had to go get our own drink refill (ice tea) never asked about a refill either. Very disappointed! Didn’t even get to eat pizza.

Some of the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. Was visiting from NY/CT so I know good pizza! My boyfriend even said he wouldn’t have known the dough was gluten free. Would definitely go back if I’m ever in the area again!

Great food, especially the traditional chicken wings. Best pizza in Eagle River. Overpriced in my opinion. We paid $80 for 2, 10-12 piece boxes of chicken wings and a large pizza.

Have been going here for years, and it seems like the food is just not what it used to be. Ordered a large pizza for carry out. It definitely was more of a medium sized pizza than a large… but the quality was seriously lacking. The crust was so thin in places that there were holes in the pizza. I think we counted less than 15 pepperonis on the whole pizza. Just disappointed. We love supporting local but you’ll get better quality at papa Murphys or dominoes.

Dont let the small homey plave deceive you. I absolutely love this place! It's some of the best pizza there is and I always come here with my buddy every time I'm in town. I always get the same thing-- pizza and a scooter of their porter beer. They have an awesome all yo I can eat salad bar too. Definitely recommended.

The metal pans they place the pizza on are all over the floor and never washed. I’ve never seen such a dirty work place. All the other pizza places know how this company is so shady. The place is also infested with mice.

Bought a meatlovers it was soggy half stuck to the box all the pieces broke away from the crust

I had made a reservation for 10 8th grade girl and 1adult. After arriving to the restaurant we had 7 more girls show up last minute. The server was so kind and accommodating! Our food was brought out quickly and our beverages were always filled! As you can imagine with 17 teens, we were quite loud. As we were saying prayer before we ate, the server joined us! This place was attentive, the food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the prices are very fair! Our bill for everything was $180! That is almost unheard of these days! I highly recommend Pizza Man!

Food should be 4 stars but I love the schooners and tap list so I bumped it up to 5. We arrived two hours before they closed and it seemed like we were preventing the kitchen from closing and they started loudly cleaning all around us with an hour left before closing. I don’t like keeping staff past closing but we left well before the restaurant closed and it felt like we were hustled out the door. If you want to close at 9… close at 9. Will keep coming back for schooners but not impressed with my last service/ambiance experience:/

The food is very overpriced! The steak sub barely has any meat or vegetables and just has a very large roll for $17(rip off!). The menu us extremely overpriced! The salad bar has vegetables such as tomatoes that are wrinkled, the mushrooms look old and definitely not worth the price. A side (handfull) of fries for $3.50. A small pizza is $17!!! I think brand is the attention getter, not quality of food. Absolutely a rip-off!

Had a large group hit because of how staffing was, we didn’t place drink orders until 40 minutes after we sat down. No team work on the staff made for a very lousy experience. Normally great service but this one event failed miserably. Make sure the restaurant clearly knows a large group will come well in advance for anything resembling decent service.

I've been eating here since 1995, and I have never been disappointed. Sure, you could complain about parking and being busy, but that is what people should expect when a business is successful.

This was a delivery order. The person making my pizza had never heard of a Margherita pizza. The fresh basil was burnt to a crisp ( the basil is to be put on after the pie cooks) and then the tomatoes were giant wagon wheel slices. The mozzarella wasn't creamy, but I think that was do to the pizza being over cooked. I had to sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt and olive oil to make it eatable. The lady who took my order and the delivery driver were nice.

Slow service and wings were okay. Would recommend the calzone as it was really cheesy and the ranch sauce

6 months I ago I got food poisoning, 1 month ago my aunt got food poisoning, and just last weekend my friend got food poisoning. I do not suggest.

3/18/24 Ordered hamburger no onions but came with onions, removed after bit and found, but stomach upset rest of day. Pizza took home was good. Waitress was very nice too.

Some of the best pizza in Eagle River. Has a wonderful salad bar along with a wide variety of appetizers. Atmosphere is cozy and quiet enough for the family to enjoy a meal together. Has plenty of parking.

The best pizza we have enjoyed in some time. Great flavor and can taste the tradition they are keeping. . We were celebration my friends birthday... The ambiance was great... will definitely visit again....

I have ordered from here 3 times in the last 6 months. Each time the food takes forever to receive and is no longer warm. My last order (this evening), we did a pick up order and they forgot where they put the order after my husband waited in the lobby for almost an hour. He got home and the order was cold… and missing items. We are too frustrated to go back. Very disappointing, especially for how much was spent on the food.

Best Italian sandwich I have had.

My son's chicken strips were raw when he received them, lucky for him he only ate one bite before realizing it. When we informed the waitress she nonchalantly shrugged it off and took them back with her. She returned a few minutes later and informed us they were making a new order for my son. I told her to just take it off the bill so we could pay and leave. My wife's pizza was a soggy mess and the sausage on my hot sausage italian sub tasted like processed bologna.

Lol!!! I washed dishes for a spell. But the subs are the absolute bomb. Tony makes awesome soups, all the staff are hard working and friendly. Didnt get along with a couple waitresses, but that's because i can't abide rude or pushy females. Ya get more bees with honey, ladies. I've gone home with 600 in tips back in my day. AFTER tipping the cooks and dishwashers. And i would not have dreamed of being snotty to those who made my job possible. Jussayin. I enjoyed working here but just not enough pay for the hustle. But I love you guys!!!! Keep up the hard work, everyone! I'll be back for subs soon!

Our company is moving into the area and ordered a large delivery order for the next day. They were so kind and accommodated our needs. Food was excellent - service above and beyond! Will be a regular lunch spot for sure!

How do you make a large pizza into a small/medium? Make a huge crust. I heard these guys were doing it but now I see it. And had to run everything through the oven cuz the dough is chewy. Serious get help on the dough

First issue I have had since living in Eagle River. Wife ordered food and now 1h 35m later still no food.

This place has really lost its touch. So sad.

I love the food, no complaints there. But I live in Anchorage and ordered before I left my house and was told 45 minutes. Showed up with 5 minutes to spare and paid then was told it would be another 45 minutes. Uh ok…? So I wait in my car and when I went back in to get my order she said it would still be 30 minutes and that they hadn’t even started making it. So I got a refund (but not the tip I gave them) and went home with 2 hours absolutely wasted and no pizza. Super disappointing. I got the feeling they didn’t want to tell me they were behind 1.5-2 hours so just told me what they thought I’d be happy with. If I’d known I would’ve made other plans for food.

We were told 20 min waited a hour. We were a party of 5 they took a party of 8 who came in before us then a party of 7 before us we finally just walked out. Worst service ever!

Never disappointed with Pizza Man's quality of food!

When we travel - we always go with Trip Advisor and this was rated #1 in Eagle River ! It is in a remote location , especially when snow is high , but it’s quaint , rustic and the pizza was excellent! Light crust not thick and not heavy crust and so many choices ! Plus salad bar was clean good and fresh - hard to find food salad bar these days !

Enjoyed one of the best slices of Hawaiian pizza I had at a long time. Had a great conversation with Keith at the best of Alaska Show!

Always appreciated this place living in Eagle River. Good pizza and other dishes too. Service was good as well.

Their pizza is great, and have not had an issue with quality of the food. Ordered from them many times. Their service- specifically getting your order is variable from waiting beyond your original time told (on average 10-15 min) to completely didn't take the order correctly and have to start from scratch when you arrive. I'm a big fan of supporting local businesses but this is a constant area of disappointment. I hope pizza man makes some changes to improve customer experience.

Great for pick-up and great tasting food!

Great food and atmosphere! Service is professional, friendly, and prompt. Food was delicious and had great portion sizes, enough for two meals! I know this place has gotten some bad reviews in the past, but I’ve been going to pizza man for years and I can tell their new owner is really putting work into the place. Great beer selection, pizza was out of this world, and the salad bar is the best in town. If you’ve have a bad experience in the past, I highly recommend giving this place another shot.

I ordered a personal BBQ chicken and my mom ordered a personal meats pizza. I enjoyed mine but hers was even better. I'm thinking they surely gave us small instead of personal size because we could only eat half of the pizzas but it reheated very nicely for lunch later. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

Went with a big party, food came out close to 45 minutes after we sat down. All of our wings were cold, seems like they started frying those first and just let them sit somewhere while they worked on the other meals. The small cheese pizza we ordered for our children was completely missed. Kids got their dinner 1.5 hours after we sat down, staff wouldn’t remove it from the bill out of good faith. Auto 20% gratuity was added and charged an additional fee for using credit cards. Been to Pizza Man before but this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had there.

Called in a carry out pizza order. 50 minutes later when I arrived for pickup… the teenage server never put my order in. She seemed uninterested with working there or doing her job.

Comfortable homey restaurant. I have only had the pizzas. Much better than any of the chain pizza places. Delivery is usually prompt and professional, although I have had a couple of bad experiences (one was a dropped pizza and the delivery driver said nothing about it... Have had a few other problems, but when I let the manager know, he was great and gave me credit for the next order.

So holly schnikes i just had the worst customer service ever i ordered pizza at 830pm tonight here i am staying up intill midnight because i still havent recieved my order so i call after 1 hour 45min and ask about it the say any minute then an hour lattwr i call they say it was delivered to my address and some one claimed to be me and paid cash i said ive been here alone all night no one came here with food... bout 20 minutes into the coversation after she checks with the driver and incinuates that im lieing for some reason i finaly talk them into sending my food again cause it never came and during the earlier convo when she acused me of lieing i said im not trying to get free food or anything wh6 would i call and make this up she says were not trying to give out free food i said ok good.... they finaly say theyll send it again do im wait on the porch this time gota qork at 6am waiting till midnight sucks but worst part she calls me back and says "its a little to suspicous there not gona send the free food" im like what i.told u i.wasnt trying to.get free food just trying to pay for my original order she says well i didnt say that i say no i did clearly say that when she wad acusing me of making the whole thing up... what a head ache what a stomache ache of a night waiting over 3 hrs for food... worst customer service ive ever recieved probably gona be spit on any way but ill pay and tip...

We got our pizzas take-out. So I really don't have a take on table-service or restaurant atmosphere, but the pizzas were amazing.

The Taco Pizza is the absolute best! A must try. The cheese bread with meat sauce is pretty delicious too.

Seems to me Pizza Man is trying again. They might have rested on their laurels for a while, but my recent take-out was outstanding. Chunky & tasty marinara on slabs of cheesy eggplant parmesan. Even salad greens were crisp—and green! Pizza was great, of course.

Unfortunately I really don't have anything good to say about it. The area we were seated was dirty and had flies/gnats flying around. The pizza was falling apart and had holes in the bottom crust, though it tasted decent enough. The burgers we got were burned badly. Honestly the worst burger I've ever had. The server did not acknowledge this issue. At the end when given the bill, an automatic 20% gratuity was added to the total, but on the final bill it just showed the total owed with small print at the bottom stating that gratuity had already been added. The bill still looked as you would expect from a normal restaurant where it asks for tip and the new total. Shady billing practices. Dirty environment. Bad food quality. Just go to dominos or McDonalds.

We won't be ordering from here again, unfortunately, after today. We ordered a chicken Ceasar salad, it came with no dressing, and the driest cubed chicken I've ever had, it was like chalk. When I first called, I forgot to ask for a side of ranch dipping sauce, so I called back, and they charged me another 2$ for a delivery fee (they only delivered once). People were rude when we called and asked why they charged 7.50 for a side of the ranch. There are many other places to eat in Eagle River. This won't be one of them.

Awesome place to eat.The pizza was outstanding and it was so darn good!! Totally loved it. The restaurant was cute.

They need a new server. Place wasn't busy and it took our server over 30 minutes just for us to pay for our food. Brown lettuce with my food. I also got charged a credit card fee for using a debit card? What a mess.

Have not yet had a good experience here. Order a Hawaiin Pizza and it came without pineapple and realized after driving all the way home. Always rude hostesses/cashiers.

This place used to have great food back in the day, but the last few times the quality of the food has consistently gone downhill - to the point of being non edible - The crust on the pizza tastes like burnt moldy food, like they hadn’t cleaned the pan they cooked it on in weeks. So bad my DOG wouldn’t eat it.

The restaurant feels segmented and dark. The pizza, however, is fantastic!

I was so rudely addressed after an extended wait that I had to walk out and never order. Secondly, the place is not so clean with tacky stickiness on their chair backs whereupon hands are placed.

Such a great place with a small country atmosphere I have to say I like it better than Moose's Tooth. They have gluten free too.

Tonight Customer service lacking. Staff failed to acknowledge me waiting to be seated while the three of them talked to each other. Pizza man used to be my go to , it certainly has slipped under new ownership. This is the fourth time poor service was received

Ordered delivery. Brought our food to the wrong address which was a new mess up. Normally it's just late (which it still was), but this time they brought the food to the credit card address instead of the address (easy to find business) given. Brought a small cheese pizza for compensation to location - it's 8:15 at night. Still waiting.
