Always a pleasure to eat at Plateia.

Absolute perfection 👌 the service, the food, the drinks and on the patio for the most beautiful atmosphere! We love plateia and will keep coming back for a very long time.

Food was exceptional. The lamb psito is a must get. They have a kids menu which was great and the little one enjoyed her pasta with butter and parm cheese. The baklava cheesecake, it's something you HAVE to get. One won't be enough because you'll want to order another one. The service however, was not great. Took about 20-25 mins for the server to come and acknowledge us and if you're dining with kids, we'll, it's not feasible. The staff that refills water and clears the tables were great and extremely attentive, just wish service was the same.

I was here celebrating several anniversaries. A 63yr 60yr., and 30yr. Great time.

Got there about 430 and was empty but as we were eating place got packed. Good food

Parking goes all the way around three sides of the restaurant. And this is truly needed, because of the large square footage inside the restaurant. The parking lot was full on a Wednesday night! When I walked in, there was a bar area immediately to the right for you to grab your first cocktail, but I have never had to wait for a table. They have an equally sized outdoor patio as they have available seating area inside. If you sit on the patio where you're not staring at the parking lot, you will be fully transformed into a little Mediterranean vacation with twinkle lights above the pergola and vines on the wall. The place was fully packed outside with many people sipping on Lemontinis. First, we got the Spanakopita, which was basically a savory baklava but with diced feta and spinach inside with tomato sauce to accompany it. The Skewers were fabulous to split with a pal, as they come with a large portion of protein kebabs with rice, tomato onion, Taziki, and two slices of pita. The chicken was so tender and could convert anyone who doesn't like chicken to like chicken. These Plateia chefs are absolutely using a thermometer to cook, because nothing has been overdone, ever. Little loud at times for my 32-year-old ears to hear, but it was because of the bustling environment with people all around chatting and and having a grand old time. How could you blame them?

My favorite Greek food in the area.

Plateia has a special place in my and my wife’s heart. This was the place that we had our first romantic dinner together. But beyond that the most important thing, the food is amazing, the service has been so friendly, helpful, and attentive. It just maked us feel like we were the only ones in the place. If you’ve never had Greek food, the flavors are incredible. Come and enjoy, I highly recommend and evening dinner with your romantic partner.

We went in on Sunday early afternoon. Moderate crowd, no waiting. Pastitcio was awesome. Friendly water refill guy was on it 100% Unfortunately the overall atmosphere was meh. Note to management, please teach the grumpy lifeless unhappy RBF-face E. Euro staff members some business sense and customer service manners--this is not a Soviet-era restaurant. Manager was very responsive and professional resolving the issue with our recept. Remember Mykonos is still down the street and remains a go-to for us local Ellines. Please do a little better.

Could have had more vegetarian options. Was surprised that falafel wasn’t on the menu.

I have eaten here many times. I am basically a local. However, the last time I visited, I wanted a salad with two skewers of shrimp, but they refused to let me order it. They said I had to order the shrimp entrée which I did not want. The waitress is kind of rude. I would give this experience two stars.

Love Greek/Mediterranean food? A must go to! Extensive menu features Greek favorites with American staples. Lamb dishes are perfectly cooked - our chops were extremely flavorful. 2 homemade soups daily. We sampled the egg lemon which was killer. My Lavrocki was beautifully seasoned and came with 2 huge fillets. Greek Oven Roasted potatoes come with a lemony butter sauce and were delicious. Portions are HUGE - you will have enough for another meal . Owner is celiac and the menu is tagged with items that are gluten free. Many vegetarian options. Ample parking lot with handicapped friendly entrance and interior. The only negative is that the noise level can be loud. Tip - go early - it gets crowded!! Reservations accepted only for parties of 6 or more.

Great place. Food10/10, Atmosphere 10/10, Service 10/10. Octopus is one of the best I’ve ate. Feels like you are in Europe. Highly recommend to visit, especially if it’s a sunny day and sit outside.

It's always an amazing culinary experience. The Beet salad was one of the best I had in a while.

We made reservations for Mother's Day and waited an hour and 15 minutes for a table. We were not the only ones. They never apologized and the waiter laughed when we asked to order right away (kids were very hungry by then on a school night). Lots of good Greek restaurants around who know how to treat customers. We will not be back!

We was before at this place and everything was great, food and service. But yesterday the food wasn’t good , octopus very dry without any taste as well the lamb . Server forgot to bring our drinks .

I can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant. My wife and I love the food and ambiance of Plateia. I only gave them 4 Stars for Service, but to be fair, we usually go there when it's a busy weekend night. We have never had a bad meal, or experience at this restaurant

I can't say enough great things about the experience we had a Plateia tonight. Simple healthy ingredients, expertly prepared. The Greek salad and 1/2 boneless chicken with vegetables was perfection! The service was top notch. We sat outside on the charming covered patio one of the best in the area. When a thunderstorm decided to pass through, we got a little wet but felt like we were sitting on a patio in a small Greek Village. We can't wait to go back!

Every dish we ordered so far 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳💋🤌🤌🤌. The grilled octopus is always our favorite here, perfectly chargrilled, tender sauce is not overpowering. This restaurant has such a cute, comfortable ambience for date night or family gatherings.

Great food but incredible loud! Music was too loud, and people had to yell across the tables to talk to each other. We couldn't hear each other at our own table! The other issue is with parking. There is not enough space for cars around the restaurant.

Bad Food and Not Worth it!!! I have not had this bad a meal in a long time. This is really bad. 1st - this is not Greek food this is Greek-ish food. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. 2nd - this is not very good food NOT GOOD FOOD everything was so over salted it was hard to taste not good at all and not even close to comparable food in the area. 3rd - this is so overly priced for what you get it's unreal. I can go over every dish we ordered from the horta to the octopothi to how awful the skordalia was. How does avogolemono not have any lemon juice and just curdled milk on top??? The management didn't come over to speak about what was wrong. We complained right from the start and they never sent a manager over. Just our bill full priced even tho we didn't eat half of the 12 plates we ordered. If you want actual Greek food that is worth what you pay for DO NOT GO HERE!!! I am Greek and grew up in Glenview. This place is a complete joke. No Greeks actually go here cause it's so bad and such a scam! Go to Psistaria on Touhy or Mykonos down the street as those are actual Greek restaurants and worth the $ you pay for. This place is not good at all.... Not good at all! Questions for more details? Very bad service. I sat at the table for more than 30 minutes, and no one served us. We left because we didn't feel welcomed.

I always try to be tolerant in all cases in the service, I am never rude, so the situation in this restaurant was like this. There was a reservation, we were 5 minutes late, approaching the host, she said wait, we say we are always waiting, we come for a reservation, to which she replied, - you should be Everyone, to seat! And than she said - you were late, you should have been on time! and if we like food, wait, if no- then leave! And her last words were - this is business! what kind of service is this??? she doesn't know how to communicate with customer?? we were frustrated. will never come again... this is so upset about service. The host is a "face" of restaurant.

I tried to come here to eat for lunch. And I was with my mom. My mom has a trained service animal. It is a service animal not an ESA and they were originally saying that would not allow him because he is a small service dog. They were saying they only allow the big service dogs. Which by law they have to allow any size service dog. They even have a sign right when you walk in saying service dogs allowed. And they were still trying to deny him. They allowed him this time but they were saying next time they might now allow him even though they have to allow him every time by law.

Their lemon and rice soup is one of the best soups I've ever had and their half chicken with potatoes is amazing! I almost forgot, I had the beet salad which is also incredible and big enough to share with another person.

Greek Food! We love the stuff and enjoy coming to Plateia whenever we’re in the area. We enjoyed the previous Greek restaurant that was located here before, and luckily found that Plateia pretty much carried on where “Periyali” left off. We love the grilled octopus and grilled calamari - both of which can be hard to find. Most places only serve breaded, deep-fried calamari. The souvlaki (skewers) are also quite good. The dips are a great appetizer, and of course you MUST have a few bottles of Greek wine to accompany it all with. If you’re looking for a meal that is tasty AND fun - this is the place to go!

Food is really good, service is very good. The atmosphere is very close to Greece. Try the bakaliaro and the beet salad. Also moussaka is really good. We always enjoy our time there

As someone who often visits Greece, I can freely say that Plateia, in terms of quality and method of food preparation, is often far better than many restaurants in Greece itself. Highly recommended for everyone who likes Mediterranean food and ambiance.

I have been there multiple times. It is our go to place for family events. Service is normally very good and food is tasty. The prices on the other hand are crazy. $18 for a Greek salad. I understand there is an inflation but that’s why you put 5 pieces of calamari. Then you have the audacity to charge credit card fees because of the price hike. That’s just using inflation as an excuse to rip off your customers. I’ll go there if I’m really craving something but there is way better options out there. Even steakhouses like fogo de chao and Texas de Brazil are cheaper at this point but you eat until you want and you don’t get charged credit card fees.

I love Plateia! I like every dish I've had, but my personal favorite is the moussaka. The fried calamari and grilled octopus are also fantastic!

Went there for a funeral luncheon and ordered off the regular menu. Everyone loved it. The service was great and the food was awesome. Would definitely go back and highly recommend.

My wife and I had the Lamb Youvetsi, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional, and the ambience was warm and friendly. We had a great time on our Anniversary. I highly recommend this establishment for authentic Mediterranean dishes.

Not the place to go if you have serious food allergies. This restaurant does not have proper care or training or experience when dealing with serious nut allergies.

The service and overall atmosphere/vibe were fantastic, however the food was a bit mediocre. A little too under-seasoned for my palate. The bill was a bit pricey, but not unreasonable for today’s economy. The environment was very clean and hospitable, perfect for a date night or a family night.

The first thing that stroke me when we entered was that annoying music that is definitely not made for restaurants. In Greece this is music we only listen at “bouzoukia”, live music night clubs. The hostesses were clueless and didn’t make us feel welcomed. On the other hand our server was very polite, knowledgeable, on top of things and with good timing. Excellent experience with him. Food-wise, we were greeted with a wonderful warm village bread and olive oil. We ordered many different foods to share. The gigantes were well made but had a bad oil aftertaste. Could be from the pot. The French fries were good but they are not hand cut. Horta were over boiled. The beets come with a nice mild garlic sauce which compliments them nicely. The only issue is that the beets were very cold, they should be at least at room temperature. The octopus was very thick, over cooked and salty (as well as the lemon-mustard sauce it comes on). Taramosalata was not very bad, but nothing special. They did do a good job with the chicken skewers. They were well done and come with tzatziki sauce, tomato, pita and side of choice. We ordered our with lemon potatoes but came with fries, so I don’t have an opinion on the lemon potatoes. The best dish by far was the mousaka, which usually is not good in restaurants, but in this case it was well made, correctly seasoned with a nice light bechamel sauce. Bottom line, it didn’t worth a one hour ride.

Food overall was good and the portions were big enough. Price ranging from $16~$25 each. Ordered chicken breast with vegetables. juicy! It's typical Mediterranean food we all know. Fries were really good! Liked how they cooked the rice as well. Zucchini (kolokithokeftedes) was good as well. The service was pleasant but felt they wanted us to leave when we stayed a little bit longer after our food.

This place is very clean , beautiful overall aesthetic , and good food . Been here several times with no complaints . However recently my husband and I decided to do carry out after a long day . Our total was just shy of $90 for a few items but we don’t mind spending money for good food . I went in , paid with cash , and returned to my car . Out of habit I reviewed my receipt and noticed a 3% charge. I called on my drive home to just go over that charge - literally out of pure curiosity ( i already spent 90 another 3-4 dollars aren’t going to break my bank) but the lady who answered was extremely rude and condescending. She refused to explain and kept telling me to read my receipt before calling & if I have a problem after reading to speak to a manager. AFTER reading it did state on the bottom In was in lieu of the increase in prices , I understand that and support small businesses all the time . However that lady’s tone was ignorant and rude . Should I have read first yes sure but I didn't. IMO if you’re working the front you should be a little more kind and respectful to customers - especially when people keep coming back . So rude !

This place is absolutely delicious. I personally love the fresh aspect of Mediterranean food. And everything superseded expectations. The staff and ambiance is quite lovely. We had a beet salad sub arugula instead of baby spinach, because spinach is just not in my palatea, as well as the Kolokithokeftedes (Mediterranean zucchini fritters) and the charred lamb chops. For beverages we had a moscow mule, their special blood orange margarita, and an espresso martini. And let me tell you it is incredibly hard to find a place that even does espresso martinis let alone good ones. It’s very easily overwhelming if not made right, but theirs is a very dark roast so it compliments the vodka instead of the flavors being separate if that makes sense. I forgot to take pictures of everything else, but look at the lamb chops.!

It’s our third time back, every bite was delicious, a lively atmosphere of couples to families and great service. Leaving full with some leftovers to go!

I enjoy eating the octopus, beet salad, and their salmon as my entrée. Instead of a Moscow Mule drink, they offer a Greek Mule. I highly recommend this awesome Greek restaurant.
