My first time here and the gentleman is lovely...

Limited selection, but good cakes and pastries.

10/10 everything is delicious and fresh!

Popped in because I was in the area, now I'll just return anytime. The spinach pie was excellent as well as the not over sweet cheese Danish. Princess Cake is as it was when the Swedes were there. Go early if you expect full choice in the cases. Almond croissant is perfectly done as in France. Server was kind.

Great bakery store from croissant to sweet, all great taste and the pastries are not heavy on sugar.

This little local bakery is a gem. The princess torte is a star, filled with a thick delicious vanilla pastry cream, and a thin accent of lovely raspberry jam plus a chewy crunchy marzipan topping miles better than fondant. A special cake perfect for a special day. They also make lots of other pastries and sweets. The raspberry rolls were heavenly, like a very gourmet version of a raspberry zinger. The staff was kind although there was a minor language barrier they were professional and made sure they were understanding what I wanted and could make it happen. A same day cake was in their wheelhouse. They also make breakfast and I cannot wait to try that next time.

Very difficult to get the most popular products. They are always out of them.

Cinnamon roll very good. They had something that looked like Finnish pulla, but there was no flavor of cardamom and it was barely sweet. Not a real pulla.

I lived in Lake Worth for over 20 years before moving to another state. Just discovered this bakery and all it's yummy treats about 5 years ago! This is the only bakery I go to for treats. The Princess Cake is everything!

I tried out this bakery today for the first time. The last couple of days have been rough so I was looking for comfort food. The person helping me out explained that he is the baker but was covering the front until his colleague came in. He was so considerate and prepared my sandwich with such attention for detail. I haven't had food prepared with such love in a while. Needless to say, the sandwich and the cake I bought tasted great. Will definitely come again.

Ordered with Aline 2 dozen cookies to thank my physical therapy team. She was terrific! And she made the box of cookies look beautiful. Cookies and pastries are delicious, too! A real winner! Highly recommend!

I was here 8/15 Tuesday at 3:14pm, door sign says its open but the door was locked.

My husband and I got the Swedish torte for our birthday. The cake was delicious. Definitely will be back.

New owner is very nice. The Princess cake is different. It is not the same place. I hope it will grow into something wonderful but it is not the same polar bakery.

Budapest cake is not the same as before. They are using peanuts now instead of filbert nuts, not a good change

I moved out of the Lantana area 5 years ago but loved the polar bakery. I was visit family in town and decided to stop in to get all my favorites only to find the bakery to be drastically different. Quality has gone down, rather than full cases of many different baked goods there were more empty shelves than full. No breads, no buns, what was there was mostly cookies, brownies and a few other items. I was able to get a slice of princess cake which I love, and lemon bars both of which I’ve had before from Polar. The recipes have changed. The princess cake did not have the raspberry jam, the lemon bar which use to be very tangy and firm was more like half baked jelly with a hint of overly sweet lemon flavor. We couldn’t even finish the lemon bar. Besides the lack of product, the bakery as a whole was lacking in the decor and cleanliness. The girl behind the counter took forever and completely left out one of the items I asked for. Only after leaving did I read the other reviews online about the new management taking over. This is a shame that they have not kept with the Polar tradition and recipes. I will not be back.

I stopped by this evening, almost before closing, and picked up two slices of cake to try. AMAZING! And contrary to a couple previous reviews, the staff was extremely friendly and courteous! I can’t imagine them being anything but nice! Such time and attention was taken to box my cakes up to go. I will definitely be back!

Unlike any other bakery in the area. Everything is authentic Scandinavian. They also have some imported grocery and refrigerated items. The lovely young lady up front is very willing to explain the selections in great detail. There are two small tables inside and two outside under a covered patio. I tried a pastry called Budapest and had excellent espresso. I brought home a bottle of mixed drink concentrate.

Great selection of delicious bakery items and sweets from Finland. Everything was so good and tasty to eat.

Very sad that EVERYTHING about this bakery has changed. The baking staff Obviously is different because of the quality and lack of taste of products. Specifically my two favorite items, the Princess cake & chocolate peanut butter fudge brownies are Horrible & Completely different recipes. If you never tasted those before from Polar you don't know what your missing. As for me, sadly today was my last visit to Polar Bakery😥

I always make the effort to visit here when I'm in town. However, selection was down, no coffee was available, and simple service was very slow. The clerk had a bad interaction with prior customer, so sorry that happened. I wonder if more training would be helpful to build confidence and smooth things out. The customers behind me also were becoming impatient...work on solutions to keep customers coming back for good pastries 🍰 and good service.

Have had to change my 5* review. Apparently they are under new management which hasn't been for the better. The display case is nearly empty every time I have gone in. Cookies are very small now and harder. They rarely have what they used to (brownie, small fruit pastries, flourless cake, etc.). Today when I was in people left after being told they didn't have the product they were looking for. Not what it used to be.

You have to get there early for bread. Best to call ahead.

I've been in here several times and yeah the staff are not very nice here. I was in here this morning at opening time(8 am). Because I always missed the almond croissants and was told by the staff come early if you want to get any. I got there at 8:10 am and they had nothing out. I asked when the croissants would be ready and the little cashier said they are not making any today because the baker showed up late. I said okay well how long before you have anything else out? While she went to the back to ask " the baker" , another customer came in so she came out to take care of him. He asked the same thing how long before everything is out she said well I was bringing everything out but she came in and started asking questions (referring to me). I could not believe what she said. I just chuckled and said oh so im the reason why theres nothing out or baked yet! I left. Its always 1 thing or another in that bakery. And the breads are always day old. Never again. Every time I've been in there I've never been greeted with a smile a hello or a thank you.

Updated : We went back in today I. Hopes that, since they are still in business, they had pastries as our last few trips were met with mostly empty shelves. There was a new face behind the counter who was very nice and knowledgeable. They have Saffron buns today - I am not sure if this is just for the Christmas season though. The shelves were a little over half full. I wanted a dammesugare, a rum ball, Princess cake and a couple of croissants. They dammesugare was out on the shelf as well as plain croissants. I asked about the rum ball and she said she was by herself and had to put soMe more items out and she had the coconut covered rum balls which I was fine with. They did not have the almond croissants and they did have a loaf or rye bread left. I am not sure what else she still had to bring out but there was sugar cookies, ginger cookies, gingerbread cookies, Princess cake, fruit tarts, lemon squares, raspberry squares, brownies, chocolate flourless cake, almond crescents, rum balls , eclairs etc. More than enough to make a nice pastry box to bring home. I am so glad I stopped back in again. Original : I have to say that I stopped in here after the breakfast nightmare I had at another location because I’m starving at this point and I remember they had croissants and au bon pain and who doesn’t love a good bakery on Christmas Eve day. To my delight upon my check in I get two free cookies. So I’m looking at all of their delicious bakery items and of course I had to try the princess cake and they had rum balls. I have not had rum balls since I was little from a bakery back in the 70s where I grew up. I’ve never seen them again so I asked The woman while my breakfast was making to just pick me out a few other things to go along with the two must haves. I got a nice size box and a breakfast sandwich for $18 The egg sandwich that they had available came on dark rye or a croissant. I am a sucker for good Rye-bread and I assumed (which was my own fault ) that it would be on sliced rye bread. However it was on a dark rye roll which I wound up taking off the bottom half and just eating it that way it was a very dense and It was a bit on the dry side. It did not have caraway seeds that I’m used to and part of the reason I love rye. The egg was poached and the sandwich was good but I will definitely have to recommend getting on a Croissant. The princess cake was absolutely delicious. The fondant, the cream, the jelly oh my. It was so perfect I didn’t think anything else in the box would top that. My 2 free cookies I asked for oatmeal as those are my husbands favorite. She gave me 2 different types and they were perfect texture between chewy and crunchy. The rum ball was just like I had remembered from my childhood. It’s small (maybe 2-3 inch round) and I doubt anyone could eat a whole one at once. It was creamy and rich and delicious. The lemon bar was way too sweet for me but it was flavorful. They had a different version of a rainbow cookie that was 5 layers high. That was good but different than the Italian ones. And the last was an almond square pastry. It had chocolate on the edges a creamy texture inside and topped with almonds for a nice crunch on the outside. They have fresh made loaves of bread that they will slice for you and a bunch of self serve candy on the side. One lady came in with a slip so I guess that you could pre-order. But I’m sure no matter what you get you won’t be let down

Fantastic SWEDISH Bakery! Only thing missing were the Cinnamon Buns. We found all our Favorite Abba Herrings, Anchovies Queens Preserves, & 8 Assorted Fresh Baked Swedish Pastries that were all FANTASTIC!! LOVED IT! Make A Visit!!

Love love love this little bakery. The baked goods are incredible. It's not only fun to eat these goodies but oh so delicious too! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and so willing to help

This is my GO TO dessert spot. No kidding, they have the best of the best here at their bakery! If you haven't already you MUST stop by and try one of their delicious desserts and cakes.... Plus they have licorice, swedish candies, coffee, etc. All kinds of things!

Definitely a spot you should check out if you have not tried this place. Eat some of these tasty pastries and then walk over to Planet Fitness and walk on the treadmill a bit so you can go back over and over again. Totally worth the calories.

Family owned..fresh products worth the trip

Great Customer Servive and the quality of everything in the bakery is fresh and tasty. This is the only bakery I go to for my desserts and special occasion cakes. I highly recommend Polar Bakery.

Love this place their cakes are delicious it's a bit far for me to go but it's worth it love their princess and strawberry shortcake great customer service have not tried their other sweet treats yet but would definitely recommend this place to everyone 🙂

I had one of their specialty items, a cake with pistachio icing. It was very good. I will definitely be back to try other delicious looking cakes and cookies. Like that they had gluten free and sugar free items too

Visited West Palm for a graduation and found this little treasure! The fruit slices are AMAZING and I am truly sad there isn't anything close to the taste here in Orlando.

The people inside were very knowledgeable and friendly,I have never been here before, but I will go back,everything I purchased was excellent,and they made sure about allergies,which I have to nuts

Everything here is made by hand using REAL butter. Custom cakes as well. Their croissants do not need any additional butter or jam. They serve breakfast sandwiches as well. It is pricey compared to Walmart or Publix bakeries but you get what you pay for.

Pastry is like the old fashioned Swedish bakery. My favorite is Drommar cookies...yummy. Princess cake looks like the photo in Swedish cook books. They have limpa bread for those who know what it is. I would like to find einkorn???? bread. I forgot to ask if they make it.

WHAT an AMAZING experience, everything in this place was just perfect 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 From the outside seating tables and the welcome from sarah. She was super amazingly helpful and answer all the questions, trust me she can sell you the entire pastry shop lol, THE PRICES are so affordable we got to see other employees and all with a smile such welcome place to go. We really enjoyed so much our very first visit here and most definitely will be BACK next time we around the area.

Love the Scandinavian stuff I just wish they had more of the good candy

I was blown away by this little hole in the wall bakery shop. The service was extremely friendly and informative, the owner offering samples of various items while explaining their significance in Swedish Culture. They make everything fresh with no preservatives and the flavor only benefits as a result, everything I tasted was magnificent, and what I purchased was even more fantastic. The cheesecake was flavorful but light, not overpowering and simple, with just some chocolate on the edge and a couple fresh raspberries to compliment. One of the diamonds in the rough, I think was the passionfruit beignet. While checking out at the register I heard the lady mention them to another couple in the bakery saying they had them for only 75 cents. My ears instantly perked up at the flavor combination So I just could not pass it up, and I very thankfully purchased one. I have no idea why, but that flavor combination was something special.

If you come in often enough and the staff will learn your name. Eva is my favorite person there. The food is authentic and delicious. There is sweet, salty, and savory pastries, bread and things. Along with a wall of candies, and fresh coffee. They have a little bit of everything there. One small table on the inside, and two outside. No matter the atmosphere of the little bakery will keep you coming back

Was able to get some really good bread that almost tasted finnish....

I want to start with the good. I have not had anything bad tasting at this bakery. Everything is delicious and my family and friends adore this bakery. My favorites are the fruit slices, raspberry squares, the danishes and of course the princess torta. Now for the bad. I ordered 2 cakes for the same week, picked up a few days apart. Both cakes were 50% cream. When I went to pick up the second cake I mentioned this to the owner who said it's mainly a cream based cake and the humidity affects it. No amount of humidity would ADD cream to a cake AND the slices in the display don't have anywhere near as much cream. The second cake I paid an extra $5 to add flavoring, which was not there. At all. Now I don't care about $5 but it's the principle. When I pay extra for something I expect it to be there, not to mention my friend was excited to try it with flavoring. If we had not just had another cake 2 days previously I may not have noticed. I think it's a shame that this bakery is taking advantage of people and not giving them what they paid for. I will continue to purchase things from the display however I really don't recommend ordering cakes from here any more as the owner is scamming people, letting you pay for the cake and then getting mostly cream. Edited: I will cede to them the limoncello, as the owner is correct, marzipan and the raspberry are very strong flavors and may overpower it. However, I called you scammers due to the cream. I purchased 2 cakes from you last year that did not have half of the amount of cream, so saying "that is how they are made" is not an acceptable answer, as in the past I purchased without that much cream.

If you want great Scandinavian baked goods this is the place nice Norwegian food excellent Swedish food they even have food from Finland candy cakes the greatest people work there a known it the nicest people come in this is truly truly a gem hidden in Florida go there

Polar Bakery is the best bakery we have found in Palm Beach county! Our family has been getting birthday cakes from them for 5 years, and they are always excellent. Also, they have excellent fresh bread and bakery.

Probably for the first time ever my dad slept In and I was awake at 6AM so I had a late arrival today. I am happy that I went and now know about this place and will be back on my own accord as well. If you read most of my reviews I support local and love family operations. I learned this morning that; this family has been Scandinavian baking in Lantana, Florida since 1981, I've learned and this location has been there for over five years. They also specialize in some Finnish & Norwegian baked items. I myself quickly got a phenomenal classic cheese Danish, my dad got an oatmeal cookie which he loved. Excited to eat their Semlor later today that I was so kindly gifted from Melodie. Provided with tables outside and inside, you can enjoy your coffee and pastries either way or to go. Can’t wait to try my Semlor at home later today.

This is a cute little bakery tucked into a strip mall across from the airport. I heard good things about it and I was in the area so I decided to pop in for a sweet treat for my cheat day. This bakery opened in opened in 1981 by Ingrid and Esbjorn Olsen who operated it for 25 years serving Swedish and Finish delights. When they retired husband and wife team Gavin Magor and Christina Lovquis took over. Lovquis wanted to honor her Swedish background and culinary heritage. I came in around 4 pm which is not a great time to get the best selection at a bakery. Some of the trays were empty but they still had some items with names I couldn't pronounce because despite having Swedish ancestry all I know I learned from IKEA. So with a lack of knowledge I settled on some apple strudel and a pain au chocolat. I loved the adorable polar bear cookie. A Yelp check in will get you two free cookies. In addition to the Scandinavian baked goods they also carry Swedish pantry goods, candy, refrigerated fish, and wine.

The best kept secret in town. Very good baked pastries, I can't enough of Budapest, Cinnamon langd or their variety of Limpa. They also have a great lunch
