Great BBQ. Pork, chicken, etc. Good deserts too. Only take out available Wed and Thurs. Otherwise cater only. Call ahead is best.

Let me tell ya you cannot and will not go wrong with this place!! I come outta yadkin county just to get a plate!!

Best BBQ in the area, hands down.

A secret bbq spot in Statesville. They usually provide catering service, so they only open 3 days a week. Smoke chicken and side of potato is my favorite. Chicken is not dry even for chicken breast. If you need more flavor then there are some bbq sauce that you can dip into. Everything is good honestly but smoke chicken or wings are wonderful. Big portion of food for reasonable price

The ribs and chicken are ALWAYS on point. I also had the banana pudding, peach cobbler and cherry yum yum -delicious. I’m always pleased with my service

Oh my goodness.... A place of heaven to the mouth... If haven't ever been here you need to STOP... Wonderful stuff ... Make sure you stop here for sure... Take out only but you can always enjoy a tail gate meal... Or just take it home

Very disappointed. I haven't eaten there in years, and apparently it's gone downhill. The BBQ didn't taste well, not like BBQ should, and it was tough and stringy. On the other hand, the sides did taste good. We got a lot for the money, but the BBQ taste and smell was less to be desired.

Someone mentioned Port-a-pit last week and I had been wanting some ever since so we decided to go there for lunch today. I'm sure glad we did! A coworker got the 1/2 chicken with BBQ slaw and beans and was well pleased with it all. Another coworker got the ribs and bbq plate with pit roasted potatoes and baked beans with an extra side of bbq slaw. First thing she tried was the potatoes and her eyes lit up and she was very impressed with the perfect texture and amazing flavor and she also bragged how good the ribs were. I got the rib plate with the pit potatoes and turnip greens. The ribs were perfectly cooked and delicious, the potatoes were amazing as well, and the greens didn't even vinegar they were already so flavorful! Only issue was the side of bbq slaw. It was a very small container and the container was only filled half full for $4. That's a little ridiculous, but it did taste good she said. Overall it was a worthy trip for some delicious lunch! We'll definitely be back!!

I have always said I didn't like ribs but THESE ribs are absolutely delicious, no sauce needed. Wonderful flavor and they reheat well, which is great because portions are generous. Chicken, drummies, sides all good but the ribs will keep you coming back They've changed a little post covid, all orders and pick ups are outside

Everything was so delicious and the chicken was tender and came right off the bone ❤️ the ribs were amazing according to my bf and I’ve had them before and they definitely are! We got squash casserole and Mac n cheese and greens Always a good local bbq place in Statesville highly recommend them!

Our church recently used Port a Pit for a fundraiser and the smoked chicken leg quarter was the best chicken I have ever had, coming from someone that really isn’t even a fan of chicken. It was so delicious and moist!

We where traveling && his parents told us about this place and it was on the way to our destination. So we stop & let me tell you we where so welcomed we planned on sharing a plate and the wonderful lady said are you sure ?? Is that enough for y’all ?? And we said we don’t know we have never been, coming from Harnett County NC which is 200 miles back && she said well I’m gonna rock yalls world :) && she definitely did. The first picture is our plate to share the next couple photos is what they blessed us with. And oh my world the sweet tea is perfect, the homemade apple pie the ribs,wings,drummers, chicken, bbq it’s all so delicious!! The smoke pit potatoes and baked beans 🫘 are out of this world too!! Ribs and chicken is Awesome… Chopped BBQ needs some work need more season and more of a smoked flavor like the chicken and ribs… and the dip they put on there don’t like too much vinegar…. Need to offer BBQ. without the dip… other than food is Awesome

my expectations were high with the positive ratings. Sadly.. on my visit the ribs were far below expectations and my reason for a 3 rating for average. Off day for ribs? Chopped chicken was good as expected. Price paid… very affordable. Hush puppies were good.

Great bunch of folks, never had a bad meal there. Its take out only and only open on Wednesday and Friday. But they do alot of catering. Never had a bad meal from there and I've been going there for years.

I absolutely love going there to eat!! My husband and I go there at least twice a month and there is just nothing better or cheaper really! We both eat for around $15 it definitely beats going to McDonald's or some fast food place!
