I recently visited Queen of Shiba Cuisine and had an incredible dining experience! From the moment we walked in the owner, Almaz, greeted us with such warmth and hospitality that we instantly felt at home. She was not only welcoming but also amazing with my kids making the entire experience even more special. The food was nothing short of impeccable! Every dish was bursting with flavor authentic and cooked to perfection. You can truly taste love and care that goes into every bite. The ambiance of the restaurant, combined with genuine kindness, made this meal to remember. If you're looking for an authentic Ethiopian dining experience with top-notch service and mouth watering cuisine, Queen of Sheba is the place to go highly recommended.

I've been going to Queen of Sheba since it opened. And I just happened to be there when the reviewer King Ali was there.Like I said I go there frequently and it feels like home. King Ali and his people were an absolute nightmare to Almaz the owner. They were swearing at her and threatening her because the coke they ordered was not in a bottle, are you kidding me? Some people should just be banned from restaurants like King Ali and his family.

Super tasty, I didn't know how good some African dishes can be. One of my favorite restaurants around. We are vegan and this place caters very well to that point. We went with some family who do eat meat, and one of them said the lamb was the best they had ever had, over oily for his liking. We did the vegan combo plate and the regular combo for the others. Was a blast. Would recommend anyone to it. (Also the pani popo (one of their desserts) is very good. Not kill you sweet which was nice, but very satisfying if you like coconut.)

It was an amazing experience. We asked the server for recommendations and he was so passionate about the dishes, I got lost on what to choose because he reccomended so much. We took his advice and ended up with the vegetarian combo and a lamb dish. Both reccomended by our server with quotes, "the lamb is so tender and delicious" and "don't sleep on the vegetarian dishes they are just as good as the meat ones." He was not wrong. The owner came in a checked on us and was so sweet. Loved every minute!

First time eating here and let me tell you, my partner and I were in and out in 45 minutes, absolutely stuffed and smiling, with leftovers to take home. Elijah was personable and knowledgeable about the dishes, offering fantastic service. Didn’t catch the owner’s name, but she was delightful, too. The pricing was fair and worth every penny. We got the combo veggie platter (says for 2 people but we could have easily fed a third adult) and had a difficult time picking any one portion that was our favorite. The injera was deliciously tangy and spongy. Do yourself a favor and order the spiced iced tea (lightly sweet and cardamom forward). We will definitely be back next time we’re in Spokane!

We were pretty disappointed with the food and service here. The food was very oily and we weren’t given enough injera for the amount of food given. The portions were not great especially for the price. Almost $40 for a combo platter for 2 people and my husband and I both were still hungry afterwards. The service was fair and we never were offered refills for water. We won’t be coming back here and wouldn’t recommend it.

Awful customer service (with two people only in the restaurant that already had food). Waited almost 5min to sit, and 15min or more to order. Reminder there are two people in the restaurant that have food and one more couple showed up. Food was mediocre, super oily, stingy on the injera, over-spiced on some of the dishes (e.g. too much cardamom). In addition, the customer service was super lackluster. Overpriced with small portion (combo platter). A disappointment for the only Ethiopian around. Much better experiences in other areas like Sacramento and Fresno.

I have been here several times and EVERY time it is delicious! I stumbled across it exploring the flour mill stores and decided to try it. I am vegan with food sensitivities, so careful of what I eat. I have NEVER had any reactions to the foods or spices! (Ordered gluten free) And so very very yummy! I decided to look into Ethiopian in Seattle area while I was there...the places there were not clean and had bars on the windows...did not even stay to order. Queen of Sheba is very clean and classy. I am also a Christian and am very thankful there is no "weird" music or atmosphere. Just very relaxing and enjoyable. I've also met the owner and she has a wonderful personality...very caring. Praise God for such a special place to treat myself and others once in awhile! Blessings to the owners and staff!

An amazing dining experience! We luckily stumbled upon this gem in the crown of Spokane restaurants. Having had great Ethopian in other cities, we weren’t sure what to expect. I am happy to report that Queen of Sheba exceeded my wildest dreams. Every bite was a new experience in culinary delight. My wife and I started with the beef sambussas and that was just the beginning of the flavor train. We then had the meat and veggie combo and were treated to an explosion of flavors and spices. The chicken was moist and had just the right kick. And the Yesiga We’t was served in a delightful sauce that would make my grandmother proud. For dessert we had the Pani Popo. The coconut sauce was rich and creamy and brought a soothing end to a spectacular meal. When in Spokane, definitely check this place out!

I'm a vegetarian and had been wanting to come here for awhile before finally visiting. I ordered the sweet potato fries and have tried the bread pudding and cake desserts. My child doesn't like spicy food but the fries aren't so spicy. They're coated in a cinnamon spice that is pretty good and the fries are tasty. The bread pudding type dessert was very unique tasting. The cake was good and my kid loved it. I wish they had more vegetarian options or options that didn't include onion. Most importantly, the servers are very friendly and made sure my child, who was rather restless, was occupied and having a good time. I felt they really cared about my experience. This is mainly why I came back and will probably return again.

We live in Seattle and eat alot of Ethiopian food in Seattle. We were happy to find this option while in Spokane. We had Chicken Doro alich'a, Beef sambussa, veggie combo plate, Ethiopian iced tea, and harar beer. Everything was great and full of flavor. Really happy that it doesn't seem like they tone down the spices like some places end up doing. We would definitely come back. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. It was very busy when we went on a Saturday during dinner. There was a paid parking lot right next to the building also. My only complaint is the plastic straws, Styrofoam cups for kids. Would love to see more sustainable and reusable options.

Unfortunately this experience was not what we expected. Service was very good. For some reason the one combo that would be best bang for your buck only comes with the most spicy meats, so if you can't handle spicy or have a medical condition your options are to spend more money on less spicy options. The pancakes used to eat the food is served cold on a cold plate so the food once placed on the plate gets cold really fast. Portions are not worth it for us, for the price we expected to have leftovers or just more food in general.

So let me begin this review with this; YOU MUST EAT HERE! I have been to this restaurant at least 5 times now, and I have been stunned by how good the food is every single time. The food has wonderful spices that I personally have never tasted before. The food is fulfilling, savory, and makes you wish you had a larger stomach so you could eat more. The service here is also quite phenomenal. The time you order and get to eat is relatively short, and when you see how much food you get, you are left in awe with how they could make so much food in such a short amount of time. The presentation of the food is outstanding too. The first time I came here, I was with my mom. We ordered the Vegetarian Combo Plate. When the food came out, it was in this beautiful, colorful straw basket. The waiter took the lid of the basket off and both the aroma and steam of the freshly made food rolled across my face. Overall, this restaurant is probably the best restaurant I have been into in a while. It has amazing food, great service, and great vibes. Please go to this restaurant and experience it for yourself! They were extremely busy & the owner seem stressed & overwhelmed at one point she was a little rude to my sister-in-law when we were trying to ask about our table. At the end of the night she apologized & tried to be nice, but the 1st impression was already left. Now the food was very over priced & did not taste good! For 3 people it was $140+. Its really disappointing that this is the only Ethiopian restaurant in Spokane. The reason I gave a 1 was the ambiance was nice & the baklava(desert) was good the main entrées were horrible though & again way too expensive. I would never go back though nor would I recommend this place.

Extremely over priced and lacks authentic flavor. No way this business could keep running in Seattle. Too much competition at a better price! Luckily my wife is Ethiopian and can cook the socks off of Queen Sheba everyday of the week. The food we ate gave us upset stomach which is common if the injera is over soured and or if the sauces are prepared poorly.

Ethiopian food is our favorite. We drive 2 hours for the amazing food here. It is worth it.

One of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had! We felt transported to another land; the food was exceptional, and our server, Savannah, was the best we've had in a long long while. Highly recommend this authentic and incredible spot. Almaz has created a truly amazing food experience!

The staff is incredibly friendly and take the time to describe the food and what's in it. We were recommended the meat and veggie combination plate. The food was unbelievable, I'm not much for cabbage, but when you mix it with the other items on the platter, it just goes so well. Even the salad portion didn't feel like just "stomach filler," it was delicious. Will come back here. Also, try the tea and the sweet potato fries!
