Was visiting Shanandoah national park from DC and stopped here on a weekday for lunch buffet. Food- Limited variety but the food was very good. More veg options and that’s what surprised me. They serve fresh naan’s at table. The Naans are soft and tasty. The masala in curries were a bit too much and we felt heavy after some time. Just had to drink lots of water and some soda 😅. Service- The staffs are friendly and provide quick service. Cost- $15.99 per head.

I had an overall great experience! The dishes were flavorful, and the lunch buffet was very affordable—I only paid $34 for both my dad and myself. The service was quick, and the staff were very respectful. The only downside was that the food was a bit cold, still very flavorful. However, my waiter mentioned that the buffet offers many more options on weekends, and he recommended trying the weekend lunch special. I'll definitely be back to check it out!

Had lunch here on a weekday. Had lunch buffet. Nice tasty and authentic Indian food. The buffet had lesser varieties, but all were good. They constantly keep topping up the items. Naan was served at the table. It was also soft and well made. Very nice and friendly staff. Nice ambience and plenty of space for parking. Very clean and nice atmosphere. Overall enjoyed our lunch here.

Friendly service Greated as we entered for a late lunch buffet. Very clean. Great atmosphere. The lovely smell of spices from the freshly prepared food filled the air. Ice water was served. We were asked if we wanted something to drink. We ordered a Taj Mahal. It was served quickly. There were three of us. We ordered another bottle. The buffet offered some salad and seasoning. There were choices of lamb, shrimp and vegetables. There was a pudding type dessert. There was also some cut up Mellon. We were also served two baskets of Naan. We all went back for seconds. If my stomach was bigger I would have gone back for more. We ordered two mango lassis to go. All delicious.

The dining room is bright and inviting. There weren’t many guests dining inside but it was a rainy Monday evening. They had a steady stream of pickup orders while we were there. The food was fresh and delicious, and there are many vegetarian options and quite a few are vegan friendly. They aren’t marked as vegan in the menu but the waitress didn’t mind asking the chef. The waitress was attentive but didn’t hover over us. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Always drove passed Raaga but never thought of ever tasting their food until yesterday. OH MY!!!! What splendid food I have missed all this time. We had a home delivery that was well packaged; we ordered the Bread basket, Lamb Vindaloo, Salmon Curry, Aloo Mattar, etc. Everything tasted so delicious and refined. Portions were very generous, plus, the mango lassi had just the right sweetness and creaminess. Best Indian restaurant I have tried so far.

Each of our four vegetarian dishes were flavorful and distinct in taste from one another. The breads were freshly made. The Laccha paratha was a bit thick and could be improved. Papadums were served as a welcome appetizer. The mint chutney was a bit watery. The tamarind chutney could have been more flavorful. The palak paneer had very few pieces of paneer. These are all the points for improvement. But more importantly, every other aspect was just great! And I would definitely go back again. Next time I would try their roti. The ghobi aloo was so good, I’d get that every time!

Disappointing. I went to Raaga for lunch on a Tuesday and ordered chicken tikka masala. It was hardly edible. The chicken was more like jerky; dry, tough, and clearly cooked about a week before and added to the sauce when I ordered the dish. Thankfully, the sauce was not merely as terrible. Lacking in flavor, spice, but edible with the rice. The Naan is not fresh, it’s rewarmed, but ok. I stopped by the restaurant because it advertised its buffet and I figured I could try several dishes to better gauge the quality of the restaurant. Mercifully, the restaurant does not offer a buffet and spared me further disappointment.

Stepping into Raaga Restaurant promises a journey into the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine, where vibrant flavors, aromatic spices, and a diverse menu come together to create a dining experience that, despite its culinary merits, leaves room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and air circulation. The culinary prowess of Raaga is undeniable. The menu unfolds a panorama of Indian dishes, each prepared with an evident commitment to authenticity and quality. From traditional curries to tandoori delights, the flavors reflect the essence of Indian gastronomy. The richness of the spices, the tenderness of the meats, and the variety of vegetarian options showcase the culinary skill and dedication to providing a true taste of India. The ambiance, however, is where Raaga encounters a notable challenge. While the restaurant exudes a certain warmth with its Indian-inspired decor, there is room for improvement in terms of cleanliness. On several occasions, the cleanliness standards did not align with the overall sophistication that the establishment aspires to portray. Tables, chairs, and certain areas of the dining space occasionally displayed signs of use that could detract from the overall dining experience. Additionally, air circulation emerged as a notable concern. The aromatic spices that contribute to the distinctive flavors of Indian cuisine, while delightful in moderation, can, at times, become overpowering in a confined space. Improved ventilation would go a long way in ensuring a more comfortable and enjoyable dining environment for patrons, allowing them to fully savor the culinary experience without being overwhelmed by lingering scents. Service at Raaga is generally attentive, with staff members displaying a welcoming demeanor. However, the occasional lapses in cleanliness and air quality impact the overall impression and could potentially be addressed through heightened attention to detail in maintaining the dining space. In conclusion, Raaga Restaurant stands as a culinary haven for those seeking an authentic journey into Indian flavors. The commitment to culinary excellence is evident, but addressing cleanliness and air circulation concerns would be pivotal for Raaga to truly realize its potential as a premier Indian dining destination. With a focus on elevating these aspects, Raaga has the opportunity to not only provide an exceptional culinary experience but also ensure a dining environment that complements the rich tapestry of flavors it presents.

Often used to eat lunch in Ragga restaurant until 2020. I returned yesterday with family , hoping to enjoy their fresh, varied buffet and hot nan. It was a total disappointment! The parking and the restaurant were empty from customers, no buffet. The lunch they offered for $16.99 per person, was served in aluminum small containers, the food was not fresh and the bread from the day before. The employee admitted that the ownership has changed. I have never seen any restaurants that mishandling food packaging like this place. I ordered on Uber eats and look what I got, they put all the heavy containers of sauce on top of each other, which turns out a disaster once I received my food because all the plastic containers were badly damaged and dripping everywhere inside the bag. My food was affected negatively. Whats more, they chose to pack food in a very breakable, thin weak bag and for my Mango lassi drink, again, they put it in an easy-to-spill, easy-to-break cup, which is absolutely noticeable to avoid if you have enough carefulness as a good restaurant!

I had an excellent first time dinning experience here. The grilled meat meats were perfectly cooked and moist (even the white meat), excellent naan, and the mo mo (dumplings) were unique and definitely a “must try.” I also liked the nice balance of spices; just the right amount of flavor and heat, but not overwhelming. Staff were very friendly and prompt, clean setting, thought the decur could use some updating. I rarely give reviews but the current 4.1 star rating seems unjustifiably low. I've only had the lunch buffet here and in my opinion, this is the best Indian lunch buffet I've had from my sampling of a few dozen. Staff are friendly, naan is always brought to the table in what appears to be a freshly cooked state (a nice touch), the chicken in the meat dishes is not overcooked like most places and is tender, sauces are always excellent and flavorful for me. I can't claim how authentic or not it is for those purists seeking some specific type of Indian and not some adaptation, but for this American, their food is absolutely delicious and I don't care otherwise. The spice levels are all pretty mild in terms of heat which is reasonably geared to a wider audience, so keep that in mind if you want heat, you probably need to go a la carte which shouldn't be surprising. My only remote complaint, if you can call it that, is that there's a bit of a game or chance as to which dessert offering they have that day for buffet. I love gulab jamun and it's not always there but it's forced me into trying some of their other desserts which have all been pleasant. Interior is clean and pleasant, usually a nice fairly quiet and relaxing place to dine. The decor is probably a little dated but I don't come here for the decor or view and there's nothing off-putting about the place at all.

Out of 3/4 items (everything else was salad or other condiments) only the chicken tikka was "edible". Everything else was pure garbage. Shrimp biriyani smelled like dumpster and my friends got sick after eating. 3. Service is non-existent. We had to wait for about 10 mins for a glass of water. 4. There was only 1 Desert option. 5. * Smells bad * No salt * No spices except turmeric * No masala * 4 pcs for 7.95 (waste of money) Do not know whats the chefs secret spice, it just marinated in yogurt with turmeric that's it and cooked even without adequate salt. very disappointed and waste of money.

This is my family's favorite Indian Restaurant in the Northern VA area. Wonderful customer service and delicious food. We especially love the samosas and aloo matter.

We went for the lunch buffet, which is only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00 to 3:00 PM. Love the selections and flavor, especially the Butter Chicken and the Biryani Rice with lamb meat pieces. One thing that I observed was that people that came to the restaurant for take out from the buffet, were given the Nan Bread to go as well, but when I asked for the few pieces of bread that we have, the server refused and told us we could not take it and immediately took it away. I didn't want the bread to be wasted, so I thought we should take it home, but were told otherwise. So remember, eat all your Nan Bread, and if they offer more, like they did with us, say no thanks.
