Did the drive-in so can't really comment on the atmosphere but the food was good. I only had a couple chicken wraps but they tasted great. Plenty of chicken in one but one was a little lacking. Overall though? Pretty decent food. Just what I was looking for to fill that void.

A true Harlan county gem. A county treasure. If you are passing through Harlan county, you absolutely need to stop and eat at Rax. The staff are excellent and the food is delicious. Go and show them some love when you pass through.

What is it with that bread? Were they losing so much money on buns they had to switch? They've lost more than that from me since I only eat there once a year now to see if they've switched back. Their sandwiches used to be real good and was there once a week. COVID and new owners ruined the place. How are they still in business?

THIS IS ONE OF THE ONLY RAX RESTAURANTS STILL IN EXISTENCE. EVEN THO I DON'T LIKE ROAST BEEF I STILL LIKE OTHER FOOD THAT THEY SERVE, AND MOST OF ALL I REALLY LIKE THEIR MILKSHAKES, ESPECIALLY THE BLUEBERRY MILKSHAKE!! I ALSO LOVE THEIR FRIES!!

Got our food quickly and it was delicious.

A posted closing time of 9pm and at 8:35 no one would wait on me. Then turned off the outside lights and menu board, losing my business as well as the car behind me. I would have given no stars but that wasn’t an option

Not your average fast food. Been there twice and both sandwiches I had were really good. I plan on stopping by more when I'm in town.

Love Rax, love the food and service. Never had a bad experience here. There are not many Rax Restaurants so I am very glad we have one in our town. I do however miss the Hot Bar and Salad Bar, it was amazing.

I hadn't been to Rax since I was a kid, it's barely changed. Food is still awesome.

The cheese sticks are great and the cheese bacon skins are great too! If you pay with a card, though, you're charged 50 cents.

Rax got best roast beef you can eat any where they Arby's to shame anytime I'm in Harlan that's where l eat, don't forget the Blueberry milkshake only place l know of to get one.

I love going to Rax, the food is always good (Especially the King Rax Sandwich) and the people are always nice.

So gooood! Haven’t been in years. What a beautiful drive off our main route for a treat and it was! The staff was extremely kind and gave us the history on this RAX. Not many left and it’s the only one in KY. Very clean. Restrooms we’re very clean as well

This used to be a great restaurant. The quality has went downhill and the prices are too high. My husband was ill after eating here at our last visit. Hopefully they get better and step up the everyday quality. One day it’s good one day it’s not as good.

Drive 1.5 hours to get to the only Rax in Kentucky. The food is delicious and the service is friendly.

The only Rax I've ever heard of. It reminds me of a hybrid Wendy's and Arby's from the 1980s. The salads were really fresh and delicious and the roast beef was good as well.

Some awesome roast beef but they really need some more locations across the US like they used to have, the drive to this particular location was a bit lengthy.

A Rax Restaurant wasn't been in London, KY for over 20 years so was very happy to find one still in Harlan, KY. Same great food and good service and they still have my go to favorite - Deluxe roast beef combo with curly fries.

I have went by this restaurant many times, always wondering how it was. So we tried it! Sorry we did, not impressed! 1. The baked potato was good inside, but if you get the broccoli and cheese, you won't be happy with it. It was like they opened a bag of frozen broccoli and threw it in, it was cold and hard, almost broke my tooth! 2. Don't order the taco salad. Nothing like the picture on the wall. For that price I could of had a larger salad at a formal restaurant, with more on it. 3. Condemns and napkins not available unless you ask for them. 4. The mushroom swiss sandwich wasn't bad

Great place to eat! The workers were young and friendly. You really can’t find that at many places. The manager on duty, Brooke was very nice and answered all of our questions. Two other workers, Emm and Tristan was kind enough to tell us of places to visit in Harlan while we were in town. We will go back when we visit in the summertime.

Its my own opinion, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not alone when I say this. My hometown favorite place to eat by far is here. I definitely love the food, I eat here more than anywhere else. Its roast beef made in whatever way you like on a sandwich or in a plate at the salad bar. And daily lunches are different from one day to the next. What can I say I'm probably going to have lunch there tomorrow too.

I live in Florida and would love a BBC! Used to work for Rax in the 80’s and loved it! I can’t think of a single item that wasn’t tasty! Bring back Rax throughout the country!!

Staff is friendly. Dining area is clean and presentable. Restrooms are clean. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Food is made as you order it.

The sandwiches were hot and tasted great. I would recommend the BBC sandwich. The service was friendly and fast. Enjoyed the experience and will definitely visit again.

I love the rax in Harlan I used to go to rax in middlesboro as a kid, as all the rax closed the one Harlan survived and I'm glad it did I love this place. I'm sad to report that the salad bar has closed. I hope it doesn't hurt there business, many people came just for the buffet.

This place is pretty good but DO NOT EAT HERE ON THE 1ST WEEK OF THE MONTH the food is just bad but I recommend going on the 2ND to Last week of the month if you wanna eat here. This place was about to get 5 stars until I remembered the bathroom. The Bathroom feels like an abandoned prison AVOID THE BATHROOMS HERE! But the staff are friendly & the food is worth it depending on what week you go on.

I stopped at Rax for lunch after a visit to the state park. There used to be several Rax Restaurants in Kentucky but I discovered this is now the only one. My main reason for choosing Rax is because I like the salad bar. And it didn't disappoint as it had a variety of fresh items -- veggies and fruits. My wife had a bacon-chicken sandwich and a broccoli-and-cheese baked potato, which she remarked was very good. There are many items on the menu to satisfy most appetites. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained and the wait staff is friendly. If ever in Harlan, I'll be sure and stop here again.
