The vibes are unmatched!! 🤩 Hands down my favourite place to eat and hang in L.A. From one perspective this place is a café, from another perspective it’s a community of high quality people coming together to make impactful change in the community who all share a zest for life. Re/creation Café offers community street clean ups, wine and paint nights, INCREDIBLE live music acts that will blow you away, and so much more. I feel at home when I am here. I am so grateful something like this exists in L.A. It’s small town neighbourhood vibes in the big city.

Crispy chicken biscuit And brazilian live music I recommend hard kombucha

This is the perfect coffee shop. It's cozy, has good music that's at the perfect level for getting some work done, great indoor and outdoor seating and most importantly - GREAT coffee. I love getting some writing done here, and as long as it's not busy, they don't really mind if you work on your computer a bit longer than 2 hours. :)

What a fun spot! 🎨 Full disclosure; a friend of mine celebrated his birthday here by buying out all of the paint stations & bringing jazz bands, and it was a vibeeee! Everyone had such a great time & I love that we could easily buy food or drinks if we wanted. Just might celebrate my next birthday here.

I have been waiting for a place like this in mid city. It is truly bringing life to the area with its amazing food, drinks and music. This will be a hub of community for many years to come. The details put into the space are second to none. You can really feel the love. Especially if you get the blue corn chicken and waffles!

It was the most innocent thing that could possibly happen, I was hungry and I saw a sign that said "burgers". I did not expect to have one of the best burgers I've had in a long time, where the buns were extra large biscuits. A chic and LA take on soul food that's worth driving to get to.

Wowee!! The Food! The Fit out! The Coffee! I was blown away with the friendly service, the delicious turkey burger and fries which was all topped off with a proper espresso! Well Done to the team at Recreation for creating an amazing space!

This place was fairly busy, a lot of people enjoying themselves, the food, drink and live music on Saturday. There is no parking, so you'll have to find street parking, which in my case was a bit away. Food tasted really good, and there were plenty of drink choices, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic. You pay at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The only drawback in our case was that my food came long before my wife's, so mine got cold as we waited for hers. The staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy working there.

This place is absolutely incredible. 7 years in the making and the space overflows with artistic detail. Nick Spano has done an amazing job cultivating a space to embrace the community through engagement and arts. Free live music on Saturdays with well curated musicians. Quality sound and the food is unbelievably good. I actually really appreciate that re/creation gas a "No Computer" policy Fri-Sun and a "Limited Computer" policy Monday -Thursday. The intention is to create a space the nurtures community and conversation. For those that do not like this, there's a Starbucks just for you. I had the Caesar Salad and it freaking slaps! I'll be back... again and again. This is a must try, must experience spot in Mid-city

Beautiful space, excellent service and delicious food. I thoroughly enjoyed the eggplant parmesan, house fries with homemade ketchup.. and the Island Kombucha. Wow, this is my new spot. Thank Nick (owner) for such an amazing addition to the neighborhood.

Let’s do this Midcity! So excited for this spot to finally open it’s doors to are community. The atmosphere is really inviting. The food and drinks were delicious. Just bumped to one of my favorite go to spots! Yes!!!

As an LA native, I get extra excited to experience beautiful new café and to enjoy a part of town I want to spend more time in. This place is cool, the chicken sandwich was top notch but it’s the community that really makes it stand out.

This is a place I've been waiting six years to open. The best part of this space is the ambiance... it was designed to be a meeting place for people in the community. There are long community tables, a space for artists to perform or create, and a lovely patio outside. We ordered the Mediterranean plate and the cheeseburger. Can't wait to try out the various beers and wines they have for happy hour!

A neighborhood gem! What a beautiful space to gather with friends and create art (they have easels for painting!). Often there is live music. Family friendly but also perfect for a casual date. Kind staff. Delicious drinks and food (vegan options).

The hardshell chicken tacos are absolutely delectable and the french fries are among the best I've had. Thin fries that are salty, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. To die for.

Loved the Crenshaw Cowboy sandwich, and the cornbread w/ jalapeño butter + blueberry jam is incredible! Can't wait to try more dishes.

We enjoyed our time in this beautiful space. The owner of the restaurant is very passionate about creating community here, and the people are just wonderful. I ordered the yin/yang margarita which is non-alcoholic with adaptogens, the cornbread which was insane, and the eggplant parmigiana which is also so delicious. Would come here again, great energy.

Went last night for the grand opening and loved it. From the interior to the outside area, the ambience was perfect and you can tell the founders and team have put a lot of love into this place. My friends ordered the tacos and really enjoyed them as well as the live music. After the live music there was a wonderful playlist of songs at just the right volume and tempo to serve as a perfect soundtrack to conversations. I highly recommend coming here whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or for late night bites/drinks.

What an incredible spot for the neighborhood! The food was on point with a beautiful atmosphere and excellent service. The Mediterranean plate had fantastic hummus and falafel and my friend had “the best turkey burger of her life”. So glad to have this place in LA!

What a wonderful and vibrant spot. The food is super delicious, hands down best fried chicken sandwich and the fries will have you ordering a second round. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and with great design choices. It feels like you are at a friends house as everyone is so nice and personable. I would recommend this place to everyone as a must try!! We will be back.

Instantly felt at home -- the warmth of the staff was inviting, the cozy yet energizing vibe gave a sense of levity and the music, colors and intentional details created an atmosphere of community. Our experience was elevated when our food arrived. (I got the fish tacos and the biscuit). The presentation was beautiful and favors well-rounded. Had a lovely evening enjoying time with friends, sharing a delightful meal, and having a moment to relax.

I've watched the transformation of this space over the years from a beat up and tired building into an exquisite collection of unique venues. Nick Spano is a master curator of environment, people, and meaning. I am ecstatic about the cafe finally opening as the crown jewel of his masterpiece!
