Stopped by and grabbed two coffees, one caramel and one vanilla. Loved the inside of the store and the outside was also a cute area. They also had ice cream sandwiches, merch, and coffee beans. The Lady taking our order was also friendly and helpful!

World class coffee in small town Virginia.

A single simple latte should not take 15 minutes. There was one other person in the building while I was there. Also the espresso roast isn't great. Price was only decent part.

I mistakenly rated this restaurant poorly and only six years later did I see it and realized my mistake. I sincerely apologize and deeply hope I didn't cause any problems. The restaurant I was referring to was in Big Pine Key, Fl; their's was a slight variance on the name. Subsequently, they've changed hands and names a number of times. To you and your fine people, I can only say how truly sorry I am for that review and it is now gone!! Have a good day!!

I’ve been having this roaster for years on my trade coffee subscription so when I realized I was staying right down the street I had to check it out. Great spot!

The absolute must visit spot in Floyd. Coffee is PHENOMENAL!! As good as any I've had anywhere in the world, better than most. Pastries are superb as well.

Food selection is a little sparse but good, coffee is wonderful and beans are roasted in house. WiFi is decent, and plenty of space to camp out for the day if working remote. Conveniently located right in town.

These folks do some good coffee. The shop is very nice. The baristas are cool and were happy to whip up a chai latte with turmeric for me. You can also pick up a bag of their tasty coffee to take home and brew.

Coffee is great, but they had 5 baristas and service was impressively slow. The line was long and it was very crowded. I ordered a hot drink and it came iced instead, they were so slow there was no way I was waiting another 15-20 minutes for another drink.

I honestly don't know how long I have been ordering coffee from Red Rooster but it has been long enough to understand that this really is much more than a coffee roaster. I have come to admire the subtle marketing with signature artwork for their labels and quality sealed bags. You don't do those things if whats inside the bag isn't worth it. I have come to understand that what they have built in a wonderful part of the world is totally unique. It's a Culture that is shared by a lot

Cool vibes. DELICIOUS coffee. The baristas definitely put a lot of care into making the coffee taste just right. Full sweetness was extracted from the espresso. Thankfully they didn’t pull it too long so that it gets that burnt cigarette flavor and they also didn’t short it too early that it gets that sour pucker bootyhole flavor. Espresso was right there in that sweet spot. Notes of blueberry.

For my European fellows looking for a good espresso coffee: Red Rooster Coffee is the best coffee place in the area. All the drinks are the right size and with latte art if you drink your espresso drinks with milk (even cappuccinos, yay!!) AND served in ceramic mugs. The place has a great cozy atmosphere and option to sit outside as well. It's been a real challenge for me to find a Cafe that makes delicious European style coffees and I'm so happy I found one! Also, desserts are great, too!

Just received a bag of freshly roasted finca samboni gesha and I’m beyond pleased. I need to get to Floyd for an in person visit but it brings me a lot of joy knowing that VA is cranking out some of the best beans out there. Keep it up and thank you!

My favorite coffee roasters ever. You can taste their love for coffee in every cup or bag of coffee they produce. The difference between coffee from here and from a Starbucks is night and day. Do yourself a favor and try some real coffee from here. I've given their bags of coffee to different friends and they've all talked about how good it is. I will always buy my coffee from here.

A must visit coffee shop in Floyd, VA. Staff adds a personal touch to each drink ordered. Each time I have visited the staff is very warm, friendly and inviting. Very clean facility and dining area. Highly recommended.

Yum! (Update) Went in today around lunch time cold and hungry and left full, happy and warm! I ordered a large Americano (with cinnamon) and couldn't decide between the orange cranberry biscuit or the broccoli and cheese croissant so I got them BOTH. SO good. My beard smelled like coffee on the way home because I dipped the biscuit in the delicious coffee. Best car ride home I've had in a long time!

Best coffee shop for a stop over during road trip. Lots of different coffee options and specialties to choose from. We got matcha latte, gingerbread latte, and firecracker latte.

Love this coffee shop when we are in Floyd. Great coffee great food all locally sourced and made fresh in house. The staff is always friendly. Could use a few more seating options but being overly busy isn't a bad thing ♥️

What a joke. The coffee is WAAAYYY too expensive for what it is and the people there act like they are the only ones who know anything about coffee. I can only imagine that the majority of the positive reviews are from friends, family, or people who spent $20 + for mediocre coffee trying to justify it to themselves. Hard no to a recommendation.

The is the crown jewel of Virginia. If you are anywhere near Red Rooster, it is a must stop for coffee, espresso, and their bakery items. You can order beans online, but well worth the trip from Chicago to visit the General Store and have an espresso at Red Rooster.

Great staff! Quality coffee, drinks, and food.

The pastries are all made from the bagel flour, so the croissants are not flakey but heavy, dense and just too much. The flavor of whatever should be in the “fake croissant” is lost because all you taste is bread. The chocolate espresso muffin was dry. The chocolate donut was also dry and heavy. I was not impressed. The mango lassi smoothie was excellent.

I buy RR coffee at my local Whole Foods, but had the chance to stop by the store. Incredible drinks that are worth the drive.

Great little coffee shop. I normally buy all my beans from here and occasionally will stop in for a coffee while restocking. It’s very consistent and tastes great. My only complaint is that the hours are a little inconvenient when it comes to trying to pick up the beans directly from the store. It’d be awesome if there was some kind of pickup locker or a coffee bean vending machine setup outside where the vending machine is, so I could pick up coffee bean orders after hours.

Overpriced and not very good. My parents came to visit and on their way stopped and bought a 12 oz bag of the El Salvador & Burundi for over $20.00 each. The El Salvador blend was pretty much undrinkable, sour, burnt, and tasted like dirt. I even tried combining with other coffee to use it up. The Burundi was slightly better but I honestly have had grocery store brand coffee that was better. What a rip off. Pretentious and overpriced garbage.

Best coffee I’ve had in the USA so far! Perfect extraction and good quality beans 😁👍. This coming from a complete coffee snob + former roaster who has also worked as a barista in Melbourne, Australia and Wellington, New Zealand. Great job team!

So when Mister World Traveler Guy we met at Cocoa Mia told us that this was one of the three best places he'd ever had coffee, we knew we had to try it. I am not a coffee drinker by my nature, but the coffee that I had here was remarkably delicious, smooth, not bitter in the least bit, and wonderful. And wonderful. And wonderful. We enjoyed our conversation with the staff as they explained some of the nuances of coffeedom with us. I had the kimchi and lentil croissant... What? Are you kidding? This thing was delicious. The missus enjoyed the golden spice bowl as well. If we lived in Floyd, we would be regulars.

Red Rooster has ruined all other coffee for me. I do not live here and have never physically been. However, I have their fresh roasted coffee beans delivered to my house in Nebraska. After having my first cup, I was hooked. I was going through a bag a week. I had to substitute other coffees while I waited for my next order to arrive and they just don't cut it. I decided I had to start ordering bigger bags to keep up with my coffee drinking habits. Thank you Red Rooster!!

We waited 90 min for our brunch. The food was terrible! It was dry, tasteless and it just looked sad! Don’t go to this place…. You are better off going to Mcdonalds

We hired Red Rooster to cater for one of the breakfast days of or multi day wedding celebration. The coffee and pastries were fantastic as always. Everything was fresh and the variety was outstanding.

This place is an absolute GEM. I love their chai tea and pastry options. I always get a few to try when I'm there. There ever changing menu is awesome because it never gets boring and there's always something delicious. Everyone who works there is also really nice. I'll definitely be back.

It doesn't get any better than this! Having been to many coffee houses across the US and outside RR has it's unique special niche that you can't find anywhere else. Not being a coffee drinker have found all their other drinks to out do those I have had. In particular the Macha. Come hungry because the pastries are delicious and the size a giant would enjoy! The atmosphere in RR is laid back and relaxed. It doesn't matter if you are getting a to go order or sitting down and enjoying yourself. To let you know how good their coffee is, you will find bags of their coffee at other locations like NOVA and NYC. Grab a friend catch up while you enjoy a RR drink!

Visited Red Rooster today, as I have many times prior. As always, the coffee is world-class and the baristas and staff professional, attentive and friendly. Always fascinating that this small Blue Ridge Parkway town hosts an award-winning roastery and cafe. I am grateful to visit with a short 30 minute gorgeous winding drive up from the Stuart, VA area. Upon leaving, I purchased two bags of coffee for my savored sunrise pour-over. With Red Rooster coffees in anticipation, I go to sleep already looking forward to the next lazy morning and the smells of some of the highest quality grown and roasted beans on the planet. 100% recommend all readers detour to visit and soak in the cafe ambiance, leaving energized and hopefully armed with some delicious whole-bean or ground coffee for the road! So I actually have never been here I live in Nashville, TN however I get there coffee delivered to me from my subscription to trade coffee. Red Rooster coffee is by far my favorite coffee hands down and so far I haven't tried any of there coffees I don't like. If you have the pleasure of living near this place and you love coffee is highly recommend you check them out however if you don't is also highly recommend getting some of there coffee shipped to you because it is certainly worth it!

If I could give more stars I would! The staff was super proficient in getting the order right and out quickly. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we received the best level of quality friendly service. Ill make a note to have more ARC staff drop by on our way to sites in Floyd !

Great coffee, egg & cheese biscuit was huge

I had very high expectations, and I was still impressed. The milk steaming and espresso were both top notch.

One of the coolest places I've been to in a long time! The rosemary cheddar egg and cheese biscuit was huge and freaking delicious. The firecracker latte was super interesting and really good. The cinnamon roll was amazing and so was the lemon blueberry biscuit. Can't wait to visit Floyd again to come back. Everyone working was crazy friendly and sweet. I couldn't have loved this place more!

Just brewed a fresh pot of El Salvador Finca Hungria, and, unfortunately, was very disappointed. Best way to describe the experience is: Bitter. Burnt. Cocoa. Hopefully just an anomaly!

Amazing coffee joint! The coffee is roasted on site and you can taste it! They also have an assortment of homemade coffee sweeteners to boost the flavor. Will definitely be going back the next time we are in the area.

This was a happy find along my travels. I ordered a Leaves of Gold latte (hot) with oatmilk, it was delicious! I stopped at many coffee shops during my 2k+ miles of travel and this coffee shop was in my top 5 favorites! Not only was the latte wonderful but the barista that took my order and delivered my drink was very kind!! He honestly made my day with his kindness!

This is one of the best coffee roasters and coffee shops I have been to. Every time I am near I swing off the interstate (a little out of the way) and get a cup of coffee and take some beans home. These people know what they are doing. The space is very cool and they have pretty good baked goods but the coffee is the star. A need visit for people who enjoy good coffee.

Fantastic coffee, fresh baked treats and amazing combinations. The egg and cheese on a lemon blueberry biscuit was outstanding. A perfect combo of savory and sweet. For the spicier palate the egg and cheese with chilli crunch crossiant would be for you.

Roastery in the back of building. Front of house spacious, modern, and stocked with fresh pastries. Nationally ranked coffee - tastes so smooth. They have a patio with a personalized vending machine in case you don’t want to wait in line for your beans! Great merch section with other local wares!

Good coffee. My cappuccino was made perfectly. They were out of baked goods the other day. The staff has been much friendlier than they used to be. Red Rooster, please get a turkey bacon or turkey/chicken sausage.

Very fun spot on the main drag on Floyd. Limited parking, but that's a good thing because they were busy when I was there. Yummy sourdough bagel and dark drip coffee!

Red rooster is a good coffee shop with a nice atmosphere. My coffee is always good, no matter what barista is making it and all the staff is super friendly. The only reason I take off a star is because of their pastries. They aren’t bad but they’re also not good. Every time I get one I’m disappointed in the lack of taste. Their cold noodles and food they make to order is very good though. And their smoothies are always on point.

Love this gem! They've got everything you need to bring your home coffee game to the next level. If you don't have that kind of time, they can brew just about anything right there in store.

They had a great assortment of pastries. Very nice people! They had a really nice porch area where you can sit and eat and enjoy your coffee. They are using wood straws and silerware. Love They are caring for the environment!
