I placed an order for pick up of shrimp fried rice and chicken fried rice and it was horrible, it had no salt and they did not send any cutlery or sauces.

We loved it! We were from out of town and needed a delicious place to eat for the evening before going to the hotel. They accommodated our food allergies and took care of us as if we were family. The owners are very nice and interacted with us. It was great. They were real people with a passion for their cuisine and feeding others. The food is made to order, and was delicious! If we visit Miami in the future, we're going to make sure we eat here again.

I was not impressed with my dish. Very dry, with no sauce, dry beef, and no flavor. I'm not sure if I had a 1/8 of the pound of meat, with little vegetables. What with lettuce served with rice? (I don't want Italian mix with Chinese). Owners are nice, but again, I'm super disappointed with food. Please add more sauce, which will make better taste and flavor to that specific dish.

The food here is insanely good and they have a rotating weekly special! The owner makes you feel like family, and you can tell. He puts his heart and soul into his dishes. Forget all the other Asian fast casual spots. This is the one that you gotta try out.

Food was incredible. We ordered the chicken fried rice, three cups chicken, and gyudon beef. All three were exceptional. Owners offered some tea and explained each dish. Definitely coming back.

Red Shallot is the best hidden gem of Miami. A family run restaurant that puts service at the heart of its philosophy. Bill and his wife constantly go above and beyond to give customers an unforgettable culinary experience. Me and my partner are not only repeat customers, but extremely fond of Red Shallot. Here is why! 1. The food is amazing, Bill will guide you and give you even off menu options that are delictible. Seasonal vegetables combined with classic menu items. 2. Bill has repeatedly shown an immaculate service to us. Bill once DROVE OUR MEAL TO US because we didn't have a car to come pick up the food.

What a wonderful find. Food exceptional. Kung Pao Chicken lives up to being named best in Miami. Husband and wife owners and operators makee you feel like you have just walked into their kitchen and make you feel at home. Highly reccomend!

Nothing says class like entering a restaurant, served a cold tea to counter the heat, being greeted with a smile and an owner that takes time (no matter how busy it is) to talk to you, if only for a moment, and then offers you recommendations based on your palate. This my friends is Red Shallot. The food is unique, fresh, and made to order. The hot & sour soup tiltd closer to the sour than hot side, but has an underlying floral note I've never had at an Asian restaurant before. The fried rice is delicious and simple, and the much loved Taiwanese beef soup needs another page just to write about its amazingness, beginning with the broth, and ending with one of the best noodles you'll have the pleasure of slurping on. It's small, it's clean, it's inviting, but most of all it's a can't miss.

I went with my boyfriend, we were craving real Asian food for weeks, and not sushi like those places that are everywhere these days. The place is small but nice and clean, we were really surprise by the service. Bill was awesome, he provided great advice, we ended up ordering like small bites of fried chicken and spring rolls for the appetizer and both were amazing. We tried the kung Pao chicken and a Japanese beef sweet dish (I don’t remember the name) and there were great too. We will be definitely be back soon to try something else from the menu! If you go there get the chicken appetizer and king poa for sure!! Surprise the place is not that busy because is great!!

One of the most authentic places I been! The food is always fresh and amazing, honestly one of the best meals out there. Always ask about the specials and their teas. You’ll leave this place with a smile every time.

The owner is always amazing every time we come in, we are always greeted with a warm hello and a recommendation of what’s in season and the food never fails to impress. Today we had the Taiwanese beefsteak picadillo served over noodles in a savory vegetable broth and the flavors were incredible. We also shared the Kong Po Chicken which was also amazing. Great people and really not your average take out restaurant at all, it always feels like home and we have yet to find another place like it. Highly recommend and will surely be back ASAP!

Delicious food and even better friendly service. The food reminds me of really good homestyle cooking than your average fast food chinese restaurant. While some of the dishes are taiwanese they do cook it slightly different. Still very delicious nonetheless. Again, very very great hostess.

I’m an asian living in Miami and for years I struggled to find a true authentic asian spot. Here you won’t find fancy cutlery, loud music or someone trying to oversell you a MSG filled dish. Just plain and delicious food with natural ingredients, in a very low key family owned environment. The chicken niblets are so good I ordered an extra portion to go.

I absolutely LOVE the Red Shallot! This is my go-to place for Chinese and Asian fusion! This is NOT your average Chinese food; they cook with passion, fresh ingredients, and with recipes that try to be healthier for you. Everything tastes SOOO good! I recommend the pork belly. Aside from the food, the owners are super AMAZING people! They are so friendly and so nice that it's always a pleasure to eat and share.

This was probably the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. We ordered four different dishes a one was worse than the other. The hot and sour soup had no flavor and lacked tofu, bamboo shoots and other vegetables that are usually in that type of soup. We ordered kum po chicken the only noticeable spice was a little heat and it lacked sauce, the other dish was picadillo pork which lacked sauce and flavor and there version of an egg roll which lacked any vegetables or meat. The people that own and work at this restaurant are very nice. The place is not as clean as it should be. I don’t understand the high ratings that this place got. We would never go back there again. I would not recommend any dish in this restaurant.

I love how bright and clean this wonderful restaurant is. It's Christmas Day and I just got out of work so there are limited choices for food but I am so glad I came here because the food is excellent.

Sadly the food lacked flavor. Everything was muted. I had the three cups chicken and hot and sour soup. Neither were very good. For what I got I thought it was pricey too. They claim to make everything from scratch. I will most likely not return.

Not only am I glad to find a truly authentic Taiwanese / Chinese food restaurant, I am thrilled to find out how much effort the owners committed in getting the quality ingredients and making each dish unique to the taste. Each dish tasted so fresh and clean, definitely no MSG in food or artificial flavors in their cold-brew Oolong tea! Great service, delicious and nutritious food! Wish they can have branches all throughout the U.S.!

Set in the middle of a strip mall in Doral. Love the service - it’s warm and friendly. Place is very clean. Am loving the roast port fried rice. Perhaps I should have eaten the sweet & sour chicken first because it was tough.

Loved the cold tea which changes periodically and the food was great and a good price my favorite being the sweet and sour soup. The owner was friendly and attentive and made sure are tea was refilled. It was clean as well the tables weren’t sticky and the ground was clear of dirt. Highly recommend compared to other restrictions in the area.

You can tell this is a local little gem. Bill, the proprietor is extremely friendly, He jokes he works for free for the boss (His Wife, Sue). He is very proud of the product they put out and it's evident with the first bite that praise is deserved. The freshness and flavors come together to make a very tasty meal.

Wow!!! The food here is absolutely amazing. The service is even better. We tried the honey sweet and sour chicken and the chicken niblets that came with a delicious summer egg. Absolutely delicious. There was a very refreshing homemade blue flower tea. The owner was one of the friendliest people ever. When we visit Miami again we will definitely be coming back here.

I have been a customer of Bill and Sue for over 5 years now.. They are the nicest, kindest and humble people you could ever find in the restaurant business, They are amazing! every single dish in the restaurant is made with so much heart and dedication! You can literally taste the love in the food! My favorite are the chicken nibblets, which I buy practically every day, but I have eaten everything in their menu, my wife and my daughters love this little hearty corner of Taiwan in Miami! Trying to find a Taiwanese restaurant in the area during a short 1-day visit and found this on Yelp. Great find! It's located in a small plaza near the intersection of NW 25th St and NW 89th Pl, between the M Market and Kokai. Though it is a small store that holds only a total of about 6-8 people, it is quite authentically decorated with Taiwanese "greenboards" that we are so used to in elementary school that has Taiwanese/Mandarin menu writings, in addition to a few lanterns hanging off the ceiling. We ordered the fried rice noodles, pineapple fried rice, and the vegetarian plate. They were all quite tasty and well made. The tastes definitely remind me of Taiwan. The special tea that they offer were also extremely refreshing. To top it off, the owner, Bill, was extremely friendly and definitely explained all the dishes well. Will definitely come back to try more if we're ever back in the area. Keep up the good work Bill and Red Shallot (Hong Tsong Tou)!

Part of me honestly doesn't want to make a review so I can gatekeep this amazing place but these people deserve it so much. The staff Bill and Sue are the kindest people I have ever met in South Florida. They care about the heart and effort put into each meal and they care about the kind and personal connection with every customer to make them feel welcomed and content with everything. Trust me when I say that a place like this is hard to find here, and when I say that the many entrees I've had here were so delicious and the weekly teas that are personally brewed are so amazing. I'd come here every day if I could, the food and the service is completely unique and I'd recommend to anyone in the area. The staff here deserve the world so please be kind if you visit!! Eating here makes any day better. ♡♡♡

Best costumer service and Chinese food in Doral.

I was working on the side of the road near Red Shallot. The boss had me working overtime, and I hadn't brought anything to hold me over during the ate hours. I stumbled into this strip center absolutely famished. By the looks of the place I was expecting average run-of-the-mill Chinese takeout, but what set me straight was the immediate warm welcome of the owner! He asked me if I had ever been there before. I was thinking that this was a strange thing for a regular Chinese take-out guy to be asking. When I told him it was my first time, he asked me what I was looking for, and he gave me something that absolutely blew my mind. It was a culinary masterpiece made with fresh ingredients, zest, and massive flavor. It certainly packed a punch. I a rice dish with steamy, brilliant, and deeply purple eggplant steeped in a syrupy dark sauce full of rich flavor. He also gave me a side of some sort of wrap with vegetables and eggs with a side of homemade sauce dipping sauce. So, so good! This is a great find, and super affordable!

You wouldn't expect to find such food in a no-frlls little strip mall but here it is. Some unusual dishes. The owner provides friendly and courteous service.

It's amazing what you'll stumble on in a strip mall on a Friday night...we recently enjoyed a wonderful meal here which was made even more enjoyable by the owner's interaction. He offered us what looked like tea but was actually juice & sweetened by fruit we'd never heard of. It was delicious as was our meal: chicken tender appetizer, veggie stir fry, and chicken teriyaki. He also provided us with a sample of something we had not ordered, but will likely do the next time: pork peccadillo!

Food is fresh, delicious, and made to order in giant woks you can see from the small dining area. The staff goes above and beyond to share new menu items and to make customers feel comfortable. Great clean comfort food. Highly recommend!

On the outside and first glance at the menu, this looks like simple Take-Out style Chinese restaurant. Once inside, you a warmly welcomed by the Taiwanese chef/owner and invited to sit down in small clean dining area. During the lunch or dinner rush finding a seat may take some time, but the main focus of the restaurant is on those that wish to take out. Unlike most Take-Out restaurants, you can see the kitchen which is kept very clean and makes you feel comfortable eating the food. I've been here many times now and have tired multiple items on the menu. I have yet to find a dish I dislike. The best thing is instead of a standard Take-Out or dinner menu, each dish feels customizable and the owner is always willing and sometimes even advises to tweak the meal to try new a different takes on some of the traditional dishes. You can definitely taste the freshness in the food, especially the vegetables, which you don't get at many Take-Out places, or your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurants. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are considerable. If you work in or frequently visit the area, this should be on everyone's "usual" list. For those that don't, its well worth the trek for a good Taiwanese lunch.

I don't know of many solely Taiwanese restaurants in Miami so Red Shallot has been on my list for a long time now; especially since it's so affordable and has been repeatedly on Yelp's Top 50 list. It's a small place and while I was there I noticed that most customers order the food to go though they do have a couple of tables available if you do want to dine there. The owner is really friendly! He served us, all the while adamantly explaining the menu and giving us suggestions. I love these experiences since you could really see how much he enjoys cooking and educating others to his cuisine. My boyfriend and I started with a cup of Hot n' Sour Soup $2.50 which is hands down the best one I've had in Miami. Hot n' Sour Soup is really underrated since it's rarely executed correctly. This is a MUST try here! For another appetizer we got his hand made dumplings with pork and chives $8.90 that he recommended we get pan fried. This wasn't on the menu but instead in Chinese on their specials board which I inquired about so you should too because they were mind blowingly delicious! The dumplings came with 10 pieces which I really thought was a great value considering that I still dream about them. The last appetizer we just had to order was the Chicken Niblets $3 (small). BEST CHINESE SALT AND PEPPER CHICKEN and if you don't know what that is, just order it. If you want glorified chicken nuggets at a great price get them! For our entrees, I ordered the 3 cup chicken $8.90 which was when it arrived I was skeptical since it appeared to look like an American Chinese dish (which I hate) but with one bite I was corrected! The flavors included basil and three types of soy sauce, a great starter dish for someone not too adventurous. My boyfriends meal was also very enjoyable! He ordered the Beef Gyudon which was thin slices of beef cooked in soy sauce and ginger. This tasted very unique but was heavenly! Both of our meals were served over rice and included marinated vegetables (like carrot and daikon) which I really enjoyed! I have to come back here to try more of the chef's specials since everything we ate here was of great authentic quality and flavor!

The owners of Red Shallot are warm and inviting. During our last visit, we were given samples of their fried chicken bits, which we found tasty. They love to chat and make sure their customers are satisfied with their food. The menu seems to change and but mostly is limited to some primary choices. We've had the fried pork chop and some stews. All the dishes are served with rice and a side of cooked vegetables. Servings are fair, but definitely not the large over sized portions many of us are used to. Red Shallot is worth a visit if you want to try something slightly different than your average take out Chinese Food. There is limited seating, so you may have to take it too go.

This is a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant with 3 workers in the kitchen and a small seating area primarily catering to a take-out crowd. The owner/chef is very friendly and informative. The pork belly dish and the beef noodle dish we ordered were both very good.

This was our first visit to Red Shallot. We decided to give it a try because it received great reviews. The reviews were correct, the food at Red Shallot was hot and very tasty. The portions are good for the price. We would definitely come back here if we lived in the area but we are from Northern California, near San Francisco. The taste is comparable to the great Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area so we would definitely recommend Red Shallot to others. The menu is limited but enough to select from. The staff is very friendly and definitely make you feel welcome.

I had roasted pork fried rice, roasted pork, and chicken with peanuts (don't remember the name) and the owner sent us chicken nibblets as sample. Everything amazing!! Perfect clean spot. Red Shallot is a very, very nice place to eat healthy Chinese/Taiwanese, Asian Fusion cuisine. They pride themselves by using the simplest freshest ingredients in all of their dishes. The owner was extremely confident in his products and what they cooked with. No MSG or artificial additives. The positive attitudes of the husband and wife team, plus the atmosphere are wonderful. Sparkling clean seating area with a great selection of fresh made to order cuisine and very friendly service. Our first time there they offered us free freshly made samples to see what we would care to order. For starters we tried the Red Shallot Chicken Niblets. Bite size Chicken marinated with Salt, Pepper and other Spices. Thin Flour coating deep fried. We ordered the Tropical Fried Rice. A tangy and zesty flavorful Shrimp Fried Rice complimented by Pineapple, Vegetables and Scallions. Shallot Picadillo, which is a "Taiwanese” dish made with roughly ground Pork simmered in shallot sauce, served over steamed Rice. Tomato Beef Stew. This is a traditional Chinese hearty dish. The stew is slow cooked with chunks of Beef, Tomatoes, Onions, Carrots and Potatoes. A perfect comfort meal served over a bed of steamed white Rice. All were extremely delicious. The restaurant is located in a small plaza off of NW 25th Street. There are free off street parking spaces available, but they are rather small. But the store sign is large and visible so you still can find it without any difficulties.

A little bistro style take out that surprised with authentic Taiwanese dishes as well as some Asian fusion meals. No artificial flavor, msg etc. they even roast the peanuts by themselves. Very friendly staff & owner.
