Disappointing that the temporary closure wasn’t posted here. Stopped on our cross country trek and found a note on the door. They’re closed for family vacation Aug 30 through Sept 9.

Friendly service, fast, and delicious.

We ordered two kid’s chicken tender meals, two brownies and one pulled bbq chicken sandwich with coleslaw and a side of fries. Everything was delicious especially the brownies if you have a sweet tooth. All of the women working behind the counter on Wednesday 21st were all so kind and sweet to my children and I.

First time in. Staff was very friendly. Had the brisket,rib , sausage, and pulled pork plate. Meats were very smokey with a nice wood flavor. Sides I tried were the green beans, coleslaw,Mac&cheese, and beans all we're delicious.

One of the best BBQ restaurants in the Charleston area! So good and big portions! Highly recommended.

Whenever I call to place a to go order, the people are pleasant and polite. The food is well prepared and I think their prices are very reasonable compared to competitors who may charge upwards of $16-18 for burgers. I enjoy the firecracker fries which are very seasoned / include ranch and the blue cheese burger.

Have eaten here many times now. Always greeted with smiles. I can say I have had bbq all over the 2 valleys- Teays & Kanawha. I've never eaten anything better. Very clean. Thank you Ridgeview BBQ.

I went right at the lunch rush, so the wait was a little longer than normal, but well worth the wait.

Best Brisket in the country. Always good! I would like to see them sponsor WVSU activities it would be great if you could order their food at basketball games on the weekends. I the staff and the owner.

Called in and placed a to go order to bring home for dinner. We ordered the picnic pack (pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, and a single serving of Mac and cheese). The pulled pork was flavorful but had a lot of fat in it you had to pick out, the hubs likes the baked beans, the potato salad was good, but had a strong mustard taste, and the mac the noodles were mushy and was not edible. I would probably try them again to see if it was an off night.

Went there to eat and business was closed within their normal operating hours and with the open sign lit.

Rampburger sales...should last to the end of May...try it..you'll like it !!

Staff was very friendly and service was quick and courteous however the food was mid at best. The turkey was dry. The brisket needed to be smoked for another 4-6 hours. Sausage was ok. That being said the pork and sauce was very good

Wasn’t my type of bbq. Could taste the ketchup in the beans. Mac n cheese was decent. Cole slaw was good! The food wasn’t made with love if you know what I mean.

Ramp Burger season starts April 2. That's reason enough to go! The service is fast and courteous whether it's indoors or drive-thru. Like all restaurants, prices are up due to inflation, but where else will you find a Ramp Burger? The platters are wonderful year-round.

Best BBQ around with amazing service.

Disappointing for what I have paid…I could eat three of the best-tasting burgers in nearby place . Not tasty and not worth the price. The fries are dry as well; left them as they are. If I weren't hungry, I would've left the burger too. Yuk!

A great establishment right across the street from my work! I had the bbq chicken tender sandwich and it was really good!!! Will definitely be back

The BBQ here is by far my favorite in the Charleston area. The meat is always cooked to perfection and well served. Pricing is very reasonable for such a great BBQ. No complaints. Anytime im in the area I'm sure to stop here for a bite.

As a surprise for my 91 year old momma, I ordered a smoked ham for Christmas dinner. This was the most lean and delicious ham we have ever had ! Will order again next yeat and add sides. Thank you Ridgeview!

My husband and I went here for a late lunch today. We were met with a clean restaurant and smiling faces behind the counter. We ordered our food and it was reasonably priced, we waited about 4 minutes for it. Pulled pork was delicious and the sides were up there with it. My husband had the brisket sandwich and really enjoyed it as well. This wasn't my husbands first time but it was for me, I was impressed overall with the friendliness and fast service. The quality of the food was fabulous and portion sizes were pretty mighty. Thank you!

Pork has an odd flavor , the sauce has no extra flavors. Mac and cheese. ur gmaw if she woulda added salt… coulda made better.

Great barbeque at a decent price.

BBQ pork sandwich was the sloppiest I have ever had I could not even pick it up from the plate was a mess! BBQ sauce was so runny if you put on the BBQ it made the bun even more soggy. Was very disappointed.

Good food at a reasonable price.

Stop here every chance you get. The brisket is amazing! My absolute favorite is the pulled pork barbecue hamburger. Substitute the firecracker fries for the chips. You can't go wrong with this place. On top of the food being amazing, the staff are an absolute pleasure!

First time getting food here. Went thru the drive thru so cannot comment on the atmosphere. Drive thru service quick with friendly staff. The bbq sauce was delicious. These meats however were so chewy: pulled pork, brisket so tough that we threw it away. The chicken wings should slide right off the but they were so tough it was like chewing rubber. Threw those away, as well. The ribs were excellent. Tender and came right off of the bone. Probably will not return unless it is for the ribs. So disappointed 😞

Excellent ribs! Cornbread was good too. I wasn’t a fan of the sides we got and the wings were dry but I would go back for the meat in a heartbeat.

Solid bbq and excellent sides, price was pretty high but everything is these days. Bbq was great by wv standards (im used to texas bbq) one of the best around in my opinion, sides were really good, you could tell they were homemade instead of out of a can, will definitely be back Edit: came back to try the ramp burger and i had to change my review to 5 stars, my job involves travel so ive had great burgers from all over the country and i have to say i was proud to eat a burger from my home state that was so delicious, its an absolute must get if you're in the area and like burgers

Best BBQ I've ever had and very filling. I was full for 18 hours...no lie! A bit pricey, so wouldn't go every week, but still worth it when I do go...

You have to try the baked potato. That is ALL I have to say! But they don't always have it. It's a special they offer occasionally.

Love, love, love this place. I visit once a week and everything is always wonderful. From the excellent service I receive from the staff or the extraordinary food. Don't get me started on the food. The pork is amazing and the chicken is just as good. The ramp burger in the spring is fantastic. The potato salad is one of my favorites. I just l9ve it here. 100 percent worth the visit, and a value to boot.

Beat BBQ I have had for a while.

We had the special! Meatball Sub with the optional cheese sauce! Super tasty and a huge portion! Took the banana pudding home!!!

I do not do reviews very often but it gets a two star only for the staff and the Banana pudding. The brisket was very dry, overcooked and had hardly any sauce if you want an amazing brisket go to BowlesBoyzBBQ in sissonville it's small and very limited seating but has the best brisket around IMO!

Fantastic pulled pork and one of the best mac-n-cheese recipes I have tasted and I am picky!!! So glad I tried this place and will go for the Mac when in town. ❤️

Taste of Home has made Ridge View its top choice in the Mountaineer State. Unfortunately, our visit proved largely disappointing. While the restaurant is open for lunch, it is drive-through only at the dinner hour. So, we ended up eating the Friday special-- a 4 meat/ 4 side platter-- at our hotel. There was a lot of food here for $24.93 plus tax, with a bag of pork rinds and an apple crisp bringing the bill up to $36.02. For the meats, we chose brisket, ribs, pulled pork and Italian sausage, and for the sides corn muffins, coleslaw, green beans, and mac 'n cheese. The pork rinds were great, but the heavily sauced ribs proved mushy and bland. The Italian sausage was unremarkable, but the pulled pork was a very tasty bite that we would order again without hesitation. The 4 sides and the apple crisp weren't bad, but there was nothing memorable about any of them. This leaves the brisket, which is the epicenter of the BBQ universe. This was sliced too thick, lacked a pink ring, bark and discernible seasoning, and whatever smokiness it might have once possessed vanished beneath a slathering of sauce. Texture and flavor profile alike called to mind buffet roast beef with sauce added. So, if you dine here, our recommendation is that you go with the pulled pork, and sides of coleslaw and corn muffins.

Great BBQ the two of us ate several meals from one family pack, and it was great.

The ribs dinner was great...and OMG the pumpkin bread puffing was to die for.. I will be back!

I've passed this place many times but never stopped. It smells great with the BBQ aroma. Finally stopped and the food was excellent. When I am in the area I plan on eating there now that I have tasted their food. I highly recommend it to BBQ affecianiatos.

I had the brisket sandwich it was not good at all. I had to throw it away. The inside was closed! I'm giving it a 2 star because the pork rinds were amazing

Food okay but charged 30% more than mebu said for wings. Stealing from us.

Non-bias review, to be completely honest The meat is not that good. Ribs are decent but a little undercooked every time and every other meat item is WAY to fatty and I actually enjoy a lil fat on my meat but when your literally only eating fat and little bit meat in every bite its kinda gross.

Portions are big, and the sauce is great! Love everything about this place. I try to stop In anytime I’m in the area.

I was really looking forward to trying this place but I guess the dining room is only open till 3:00 would be nice if you had that on your website I just drove an hour 😰

Ridge View BBQ has some of the best local BBQ in the region! From their seasonal spring ramp burgers, to their typical ribs and pulled pork, I've never had a bad thing here! I highly recommend stopping by Ridge View. They have both dine-in and drivethru options, super convenient!

This place is difficult to find with GPS. Look for the smoker out front. See Pictures. BBQ is a very regional flavoured food, much like the WV hotdog. I may have to change from a more NC vinegar flavour to something sweeter in WV.

Not a better place to find great smoked pulled pork! The staff are fantastic and the restaurant is always spotless. Been going here since they opened and I've never once had a bad experience

My goto place in the area for BBQ. This place is a gem. Service is always top notch.

I've been here many times at this point and have tried several special/seasonal things, along with some of the regular/traditional things that they offer, and I must say...I've never been disappointed! From the great tasting and quality food, to the friendly staff, to the great location (right off of I-64, take a left at the Institute exit and proceed towards WV State University...it's on the left) and atmosphere, you can't beat Ridgeview Bbq!

West Virginia may not be known as a BBQ destination, but this place is worth the trip! The pulled pork is smoked just right and tender. The sauce is just right- not too sweet but not overly tangy. The deserts change daily and they're out of this world. 5 stars!

....I tried the "rib sandwich!" Requested the "apple crisp!" But it was'nt available Just this week, 2/22/2022! I was very disappointed, and won't be returning! To be fair, the meat was too thin and a bit dry and not enough sauce!

We shared a three meat platter, brisket, turkey, and pulled pork. They had the most tender meats I've ever had. The sauces were delicious, the potato salad too. The woman at the drive thru was friendly and helpful. Definitely will be going back and taking people with us. We were able to dine in today because we went for lunch. The experience was even better! And the cinnamon roll bread pudding was delicious!

We've never had a bad experience with Ridge View, so when they posted that they were going to be having smoked meatloaf, we knew we had to try it. I'm really glad we did, because it is amazingly good. The smoke adds a great layer of flavor to the meatloaf that I never would have considered. It's great on its own or in a sandwich. We got 2 of the sandwiches from Ridge View and a full loaf and we've been making meat loaf sandwiches non stop. Definitely recommend.

I have loved loved loved the food at this place and have recommended it to loads of people, but I have had bad food here more than once as well as others I know. Avoid the chicken and "dumplings" at all costs (temporary deal they are doing). The sauce isn't like it used to be (rib sauce) and the beans had zero flavor, pork had more fat than usual. Just really disappointed and I hope they get back on track cause the staff is super friendly and a tight knit fam. Come on guys, I'll come back if you up your game! :-)
