Ive been going here for years! I absolutely love Rio Verde. This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Morgantown! The wait staff is always so kind and helpful. My glass stays full the whole meal. The food is excellent. I recommend the lunch #3! Prices aren't too bad either. Check it out sometime.

Our server was great. I couldn't decide between a strawberry Margarita or a blueberry so he mixed them for me. We talked about how to make tomatillo sauce, and gave me some hints. Great service!

Ordered food to go... The tacos I had were gross. All they were was just shrimp, cilantro and onions. Way to much of cilantro and onions. Mexican Rice was cold. Last time, I had the same experience. And thought I'd give it another chance. Won't be going back. $86 for 3 people. Ridiculous.

I got food poisoning here on 1/17/24. The food didn't taste good and had almost no flavor. What flavor it did have was bad. Nothing tasted fresh. Within 24 hours I had your typical food poisoning symptoms. Also, the food was far too expensive. Avoid this place.

Everything was decent but not great. Nice service. Fine atmosphere in a strip mall, nothing to write home about but not bad. Free chips and salsa which is always great. Ordered the fajitas which were okay but again, not great. Meat could have used a little more seasoning, and I was disappointed that it came out on a platter versus the sizzling hot plate that fajitas normally come out on. Food filled me up and was good enough. Probably wouldn’t come back but I wouldn’t go as far as recommending against this place either. Normally I’m either pro or against - this restaurant was a rare one that was decidedly mid.

AWESOME. They actually know how to season food, unlike all the bland Mexican restaurants around. And, the prices are good and the value high.

I’ve been coming here since I moved to WV (2017). It’s one of my favorites places to eat! I always order the lunch special #12 with rice. The service here is great, food is amazing. Honestly I could eat here everyday.

Rio Verde has become a treasured favorite of my husband and I. The food is great, the people working there are truly so kind, accommodating and always make us feel welcome and remembered. The atmosphere is nice - not as wild as some places that are going heavily for the full "theme" but clean, spacious and nice. The margaritas are good too!

I was really surprised. I ordered a shrimp chimichanga dinner and it must have had a pound of shrimp in it. Seasoned well not bland and not overcooked

Best sit-down Mexican food around! Staff is already so friendly. The food is always perfect and served fast. Great for lunch or dinner. Desserts there are some of my kid's favorites.

High prices and small portions. $3.85 for a soft drink. Spicy cheese dip. Shocked how much it has changed the past year.

I stopped by here with some family members for a graduation lunch. The wait staff was constantly making sure our table was taken care of. They had no problems accommodating our group of around 12 people. The menu is quite large. The food was prepared quickly. Everything was delicious. All members of our party were delighted with their meals. Most of my group had leftovers because of the large portion size. I am looking forward to going here again.

My favorite place in all of Morgantown hands down. Great food, great service. We always get the Lunch Special number 12 we LOVE TI!

The beef tips quesadillas was super tasty, like a Mexican beef stew. Loved the creamy cheese they used on the quesadillas and tacos. Enchiladas, beans and rice were excellent as well. We are from Denver Colorado so we were missing some green chili, but overall great Mexican food.

Burrito start with fresh made tortilla right in front of you. Similar with the nacho chips. Everything fresh and tasty.

Fantastic food, friendly service, great prices. Server was very attentive, food was deliciously seasoned and atmosphere was family friendly and relaxed. Lovely murals and decor. Really impressed with the staff. They were really awesome and made us feel very welcome. Delicious warm tortilla chips and fresh salsa on the table as soon as we were seated. Will definitely be returning.

The food was the best Mexican food we have had in morgantown. If you love chile Redlands, Rio's makes the best.

The dinner menu seems a bit expensive for the area and competitors, but I will say the food was very great and customer service was fantastic. Very nice folks working!

Update 12/20/22: I am reconsidering changing my rating to a four star. My biggest complaint? Can you please stop taking all my money? The pollo crema is definitely recommended, but not my go to dish because I like spicy things. Thank you ORIGINAL: I will eat here JUST FOR THE SALSA. I have not had a Mexican restaurant that has pleased my taste buds forever since the place in Buckhannon (Maronas? Carmonas? Its been too long) Closed down many years ago. I just Doordarshed, but now I think I'll have to make a trip in soon. Do not change this salsa. DO NOT. Also, just came in to eat today. Food was even better. Service was amazing.

Decent food but way to pricey. Cheese sauce was $5 and special lunches said $8 in menu was $11 on bill. They would have gotten a 1 star if the food was worse

Absolutely fantastic place to stop for some classic Mexican food. Spacious booths and friendly staff may lead it to be a wonderful group spot for us.

The service and food was superb. Very generous portions of food with fast, friendly service. The daiquiri and long Island iced tea was wonderful. The only drawback I have is the prices are high. For my sister and I to eat and have one drink a piece, my bill totalled $72+ before the tip. We enjoyed our fajitas and burrito, as well as the chips, salsa and queso. The queso alone cost me over $10, the same with each of the two drinks. The building appeared to be run down on the inside. With half painted walls and television wires hanging down the walls. Floors could have used a good vacuuming.

The food is great! I was never a Mexican food eater until I went here. The salsa is amazing as well as the guacamole, the quaso, and the poiio crema. Definitely a go to when It comes to quick food. And a warning to the people who eat here a lot... this place will either leave you in more than prefect condition, or with taco bell stile diarrhea.

Food is absolutely amazing, you get that real authentic flavor in every bite. The establishment is fairly clean and our waiter was absolutely the most kind polite person you could possibly ask for. This will be my go to restaurant for "AUTHENTIC" Mexican food!! Stop in you will love it!!

The food here is SOOO good. The restaurant isn't anything fancy but easily the best Mexican restaurant in the area. And the staff there are always so friendly. Definitely a favorite.

Went this evening close to closing, food was fine however at the end of our meal there was a cockroach crawling on the wall right by my son which then crawled onto the table.

The service is always friendly and attentive and the food is always delicious.

This is Maxican restaurant with authentic Mexican cruzine, they don't speak much of english but, food is excellent. We enjoyed the food and some interaction with the staff.

Passing through Morgantown and came across this place. We really enjoyed the food and the service was great. I would recommend.

I do not know why I waited so long to go to this place. It was rather delicious! Their Chili Relleno actually tastes decent and very close to California's Chili Relleno. I definitely think everyone looking for a good Mexican restaurant in this neighborhood, should give this a try. Fair warning, their food is a bit spicy, but very delicious!!
