This is a good restaurant, the catfish was excellent. loved the salad bar. Nice people who talked with me and were interested. later on i talked to people in st. Jo and they told me it was their favorite in the region. lucky me!

The food, particularly the Rohmer omelette with sausage, is great! The waitstaff are super friendly and competent. You should eat here!

Excellent snitzel and sausage. My wife had hamburger steak. Fried potatoes and onions were fantastic. Cabbage was awesome!!!! Update. Had the same thing again 2 years later, better than last time, and that's saying something. My wife had the chicken noodle soup. That's the way it should be mad!!!!

Staff was excellent. If you order the Western Omelet, beware it is griddle style, not fluffy. It was good, but it had too many tomatoes to me. Hashbrowns were bland. Cinnamon roll was ... flat. Coffee, not strong enough. Was hoping for German breakfast items.

We both had the jager schnitzel (pork cutlet with mushroom gravy). The bread crumb crust on the cutlet was crisp (not soggy as many we have had are) and hot. It obviously got to our table very soon after coming off the griddle. The mushroom gravy had just the right texture (not too thin, not too thick, sticking nicely to the bread crumb crust on the schnitzel), had lots of mushrooms, and was not salty (excessive saltiness being a feature we have sometimes encountered in other Texas German restaurants). The German potato salad was closer to lightly mashed potato consistency than most German potato salads I have had, but had solid body texture and good taste.

Had breakfast. Quality of food was not very good and bacon was overcooked. Service was friendly and attentive. None of my party that tried the pies liked them (poor quality ingredients).

Went for breakfast. Coffee was awful...tasted like they made it with dish water. Got the standard affair, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and a short stack. Everything except the hashbrowns was good. The hashbrowns where kinda burned and very oily. I have eaten here before, the all you can eat salad bar is worth the price breakfast however not so much.

Service was excellent. Building is clean. Food left something to be desired and was certainly pricey for the quality.

food is not really German. they have some German things, but you can tell from the menu that they cater to small town home cooking. although I did like their white colored sausage. technically, it's not a knock wurst (reason for me calling it white sausage). but it is still good.

This place reminded me of grandma’s kitchen! Tasty food, great service, enjoyable atmosphere. The onion rings are the town secret. Be sure to get those.

We were in Muenster, Tx for the Octoberfest and my husband and I were hungry. We stopped here for breakfast. When we first entered we were greeted with friendly faces. The food was served fast and it was very tasty. The sausage patties were the star of the plate. It was seasoned very well. I would go back to the spot every time I go to or through Muenster, Tx. Thank you.

Older building with great German food! The schnitzel is a must! The food is fresh and tastes homemade. The staff is friendly and the service is good. The building is clean and there is plenty of parking.

Came in with a large group of family as fist time diners. We had heard it was a great place to eat..... Well, to much surprise, everything seemed to be from a box. Nothing appeared to be fresh made at all. The servers couldn't get drinks correct. They couldn't tell who had a soda and who had iced tea. One girl was working carrying a toddler around on her hip, and sure, that's just who I want bringing me drinks. The salad bar was dirty, and we were shoved in the back because we had kids with us when there were clearly open tables somewhere else. Though we are not local, if ever in that town again I know where I WONT be dining.

Great Wiener schnitzel. So tender you cut it with a fork. Attentive friendly staff. Nothing fancy about the atmosphere but who cares. We were there for the German fare. German potato salad was really good as were the fried potatoes.

Best place for breakfast and a great lunch menu.

Rode to Muenster on Saturday morning and thought about trying some German food. This was the only restaurant in town. Staff is really nice , allowed us to order from lunch menu since there is no German options in breakfast. Food was okay or may be I had a higher expectation with this being in a German town. Overall good experience.

Our prompt service was outstanding. The restaurant was full but we immediately were served our drinks and given menues. The German plate lunches were excellent and rival restaurants we like in Austria.

Enjoyed a very nice German dinner then returned for a nice American breakfast the next morning. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner very reasonable pries.

Stopped in for lunch. Hubby had rueben with German potato salad and loved it. I had Jager schnitzel with fried potatoes. Perfectly cooked, and the potatoes were great dipped in the outstanding German mustard they brought to the table. The homemade roll was soft and fluffy. The pies looked great, but we were too full to try them . The service was done of the best I've had. They all checked on everyone's table. No one passed by without checking on you. Lots of locals were eating there. Will return!

Best German food in the little German town! I always get the 2 bratwurst with german potato salad and sauerkraut! The sweet tea and rolls are great too and the people are friendly and the owner looks like Benjamin Franklin!

Great hamburger and great prices

It's such a lovely restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and funny, I forgot her name (sorry). We started with an appetizer of the stuffed jalapeños. They were smooth tasting but not too hot of an appetizer. The Schnitzel and Sausage plate was excellent, but I was particularly fond of the smoked sausage it had a simple yet deep flavor. The red cabbage and the potato salad were very good as well. Coconut cream pie, how can you go wrong? It was yummy! Not a huge fan of German food, no problem, there are plenty of other options. 5 stars only because I can not add more!

We stopped here for breakfast while we were out riding. Breakfast was great. The homemade strawberry jam is so good.

Great food. Good service (We were there at lunch and they were swamped.) More of a Texas cafe atmosphere than German, but the German influence was definitely there. We really enjoyed it!

We had been traveling on motorcycles and needed some well deserved dinner. A couple of fellow bikers recommended this place for a good meal, and they were right! Great service by the ladies hearty portions. We hit the road full and happy that the boys sent us here.

I'm used to eating German food and this was not as good as the other places I've been to. It's still good, just a little underwhelmed with the schnitzel. There wasn't really a large selection of schnitzel either and there were only 2 German beers. If you're looking for a place that serves more than just German food, in case someone in our group wants something else, then you will probably be good here.

Hoping for more but not as good as I've had. The mushroom sauce on the jager schnitzel tasted like it came out of can or bag. Just not very tasty and it was also translucent which doesn't scream "fresh". My sausages were good but the red cabbage had a fishy taste to it. Thanks for telling us where the festival was, not a lot of signs pointing one to it.

What great service. We had a large party on a Saturday afternoon and they were so accommodating. Everyone seemed pretty satisfied with their food. People liked the salad bar-it had grated cheddar, potato salad, beets, broccoli, mushrooms, cucumbers, seeds and croutons, black-eyes peas, broccoli salad and a few other veggies. Dressing choices were plentiful, along with oil and vinegar hiding at the end. Clearly marked flavors of salad dressing would have been helpful, as some were ambiguous… Lunch servings were huge and prices extremely reasonable. Good tasting water and delicious pie choices. Our party was fat and happy by the end. Not many food choices in this town, so this place was a nice stop.

Nice basic German food and other fair. Jager Schnitzel was good, as was the braut. Fried catfish and fries good. Warm potato salad good, but could use just a bit more flavor, bite. Cabbage and purple cabbage good. Homemade rools really good. Would come back. Reuben was really good.

Nice small town restaurant. Good food and great prices. I ordered a Reuben and I would’ve preferred It came with thousand island dressing instead of mustard but other than that I had no complaints. The prices on the wine and beer were excellent. Friendly service. I wish we had seen the salad bar before we sat down because it looked very good.

Stopped in Muenster, TX on the way to Memphis. We liked this little German town. Staff was very nice and attentive. Food was on point. I had the Reuben with potato salad, wife had the Jaegar Schnitzel. Everything was great even the rolls. We will stop in again on our next trip back to Texas.

Our family loves this restaurant. Good German and American food. If your ever in our neck of the woods stop by. I definitely recommend Rohmer's * update: went for breakfast. The biscuits are the best. So light and fluffy. Homemade jellies were very good.

I had the catfish and shrimp. Table mate had the jagar schnitzel and sausage. Everything tasted delicious. The kitchen staff should give themselves a pat on the back. Owners should be proud of their staff

Nettes Restaurant und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Das Essen war jedoch grauenhaft! Die Pommes weich und lätschig und das Fleisch viel zu scharf gewürzt. Der Sauerkraut war auf jeden Fall nicht original deutsch. Hier sollte man kein authentisches deutsches Essen erwarten, sondern eher eine schlechte Nachahmung.

This a very great American-German restaurant. The food is great as well as the people. It was great to see a lot of local farmers eating lunch there and talking to others. Everybody was so nice and welcoming. Their German sausage and schnitzel were marvelous as well as the tasty burgers and chicken fried steak. The pie is also very good and seems like grandma’s cooking.

This was a great lunch place. We had some great German food. You should try to save room for dessert.

We stopped here on the way through town. Great food. Friendly staff. Great service. I don't like mustard. But they have this homemade german mustard that i do like. The only mustard in this world I will eat. My wife had the ruban sandwich with it on it that i tasted. Excellent sandwich. But I had the chicken fried steak with baked potato. Also a very good plate. I put some of the German mustard on the baked potato. I asked if i could buy some of the mustard to take home. They brought out a big take home cup with a lid and i put it in the ice chest to take with us on our trip. We even did something we don't normally do after a meal. We splurged and ordered dessert. They had my favorite pecan pie. My daughter had their german chocolate cake. She doesn't normally care for German chocolate cake because she never had one made by someone that knows how to make it right. She loved it. If you're traveling through Meunster Tx. Stop here to eat. You won't be disappointed unless something is wrong with your taster.😊

Don't get fried catfish dinner. It was not crispy at all, greasy and only 2 fillets. The waitress said that it was 3 fillets. The tartar sauce tasted off, like it was going bad. Now the fried chicken lunch special was excellent.

I don't get here very often but when I'm in Munester, TX I always try to stop. I love their red cabbage and this coming from someone who would normally pass. Small town place with big outgoing personality. Staff is friendly, food is good. Had Apricot pie for the first time. Lightly sweet, lots of crust. Could have done without all the crust but it was just like my grandmother would have made it, if she ever made Apricot pie.

I love Reuben sandwiches and was looking forward to eating one here since it’s a German restaurant. Wow was I throughly disappointed. The pastrami or corned beef was a single small “slab” of something, and the dressing was as bland as the sauerkraut. Awful

I love German food, and I know good German food when I taste it. Unfortunately, Rohmer's is a big disappointment. Fried potatoes were undercooked and raw, Jager sauce was from a packet or a can and flavorless, schnitzel was prepared well, and was tender with good breading. Kraut was OK, but could have been much better. Carot cake was dry and I mean very dry, with almost no flavor. How disappointing! I hope they change things up, there are plenty of great German dishes that could be on the menu.

It's adequate. Not many German offerings, so I wouldn't really classify it as a German restaurant. The German food certainly doesn't compare with what you get in Germany.

Passing through, I saw the restaurant sign that said, German cooking, so I parked and went in. Everyone there was very warm and welcoming, like I've been there before and they knew me. My server was very sweet and it solidified the family atmosphere. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with German potatoes, and a German sausage link. My plate came promptly but very fresh. Everything was great! The potatoes were delicious, the schnitzel had a perfectly crisp exterior and chicken was tender inside. The sausage was absolutely incredible with the German mustard. Wonderful place! The desserts looks pretty tempting but sadly, I had to go. "Liebe geht durch den Magen," which means love goes through the stomach and you felt it here.

Did not try the food. Was seated and offered drinks, but then ignored for over ten minutes as the locals were greeted and served almost immediately. Walked out.
