Small place kinda hole in the wall joint but the food and service was very good.

Small place so call ahead. Very nice owners and staff. Enjoyed the food. I've been there several times for takeout also. I enjoy Thai food so it's nice to have one close.

This has been my to go place when visiting family for the past 11 years. I was here three weeks ago and was very disappointed with the quality of my food. I am back in town and decided to give it another try. I am extremely disappointed. Not only was my order wrong, my food was burnt. I asked the owner when she brought my food out about it but she was very rude about it and turned around and walked away. Two waitresses plus the owner and not once was I checked on. I am sad to say I will not be returning to this place.

Really delicious food every single time. The garden rolls are my favorite.

Excellent, unexpected surprise! Travelling through the area we went in for lunch and are so glad we did. Both of our meals were done perfectly, maybe never better. We had spicy eggplant and fresh ginger, both with shrimp. Returning home we considered driving an additional hour just to eat here again. We'll be back!

I appreciate them offering plant based and vegan options! The quality of the food is temperamental, it’s either perfect or mediocre. I will say that the vegetables in my curry have often been extremely undercooked and difficult to chew. The prices also continue to rise, but that’s to be expected. Overall, it’s a charming establishment and a nice place to visit.

I wanted more than anything to give them 5 stars. They are inconsistent with quality at times. I’ll use their Panang Curry as an example. It’s one of my favorites there. When it’s right…boy do they get it right. The sauce is not consistent, the veggies aren’t consistent , thickness, savory, chix last time not velvetized. Tough and chewy. Having said that…it’s a great Thai place and owners wonderful.

Just go there. The food is delicious and completely authentic. Can't wait to return.

Nice little Mom and Pop shop. I have had six or seven of their dishes and they are all absolutely fantastic.

Went in for lunch. Had the Thai Wonton Soup and Pad See Ew with chicken. Also ordered a pot of green tea. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent. An unexpected gem of a place with authentic dishes!!!

Recently discovered this local gem, been there 4 time in 2 weeks now. The food is so fresh, made to order, make their own dipping sauces, perfect appetizers, amazing staff, has to be the best restaurant in Rutherford County! If you think Thai cuisine is too spicy you're simply missing out. Perfectly seasoned, no one would consider it "hot", they have house made condiments to raise the spice level if you prefer. Try it, you'll be back!

Amazing thai food! I have been looking for the right tom yum soup and I finally found it here! It reminded of this one cozy joint we ate at in Phuket and its perfect.

The food was very fresh and delicious. Service was pretty good. The meal came out fast. The fried calamari is the best I ever had!

Posted hours are wildly inaccurate and they never answer the phone. The food is good if you're willing to figure out this nonsense but be warned the dine in experience is beyond painfully slow. Was hoping things would be better after re-opening but it's the same old mess.

Small and cozy, but worth the wait to sit down. Food was amazing, staff was friendly and accommodating. Vegan friendly as well. I sampled both Pad Thai and Pad See Ew noodles, as well as the Massamum curry. Bright and aromatic. Will definitely come back next time we are in town.

Amazing Thai food! The dumplings are delicious. I’ve also had the Massaman chicken which is delicious and their Po Taek soup is amazing as well. I can’t wait to try their other items. It’s pretty in there as well!

I have been coming here for yrs and since moving away, make it a point to eat here while in town. My last visit was a to go order and I found the online prices were less than the real menu when paying for it and portions were smaller. Now, my current visit had surprises when the bill came. The charged prices were higher than the real menu prices. I would not knowingly pay $5 for a side of steamed broccoli. I always order drunken noodles and oddly they had very little flavor and actually needed salt. Not sure what is going on here now but I probably won't make it a point to eat here next visit.

This is a nice homey restaurant. We had the curry puffs & dumplings for appetizers, they were very good. I had the Padnang curry with shrimp, which was very good. My wife had the Pad Thai with chicken. She thought the noodles were over cooked & would have liked more chicken with the dish. Overall we were satisfied. The bathroom was reasonably clean & the staff was courteous. They need a sign more clearly marking the barrier free entrance.

Such a lovely outing and experiences the food was amazing the atmosphere so relaxing I loved the live plants at the windows it made the air feel fresh food was amazing and the people so kind and it was busy but didn't feel like we were forgotten the staff was amazing.

Love Love Love! Fresh, authentic, delicious Thai food. Some of my favorites are the fresh summer veggie rolls w/peanut sauce, steamed pork dumplings and all their stir fries and curries are amazing too. They are a small, quaint restaurant that can get packed - go early and be patient because it's worth the wait. Or get take out, sooooo good!

I ordered Massman Thai and ordered it mild , they asked me 1-10 how hot and I said 3 Unfortunately I got a 10 which I couldn’t eat! I called the restaurant but all they said is I’m sorry and hung up! If you pick up food make sure they cooked what you ordered because they don’t care!

The food was very good. We had a few dishes from Pad Thai, spicy basil fried rice and massaman curry. They were all flavorful and well spiced. The service was ok, we had to walk to the counter for to go containers and then for the check although the people behind us were Abel to do it at their table.

The food is delicious! I love their chicken Pad Thai and Thai Dumplings. The building is dated, and it’s a little pricy, but it’s so worth it. My favorite Rutherford county Asian restaurant.

This was my first time here and my food and service were excellent! I had Thai dumplings for an appetizer, and they were so delicious. What a wonderful first impression! My entree was made with pork, broccoli, carrots and noodles. There were 3 words in its name, but I don’t remember what it was called. I would definitely order it again, but there were so many options that I want to try! What a great little treasure in Rutherfordton. I will definitely be back soon! I would highly recommend it!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the whole county. Sometimes I'll even eat here everyday. Most of the dishes can be made vegan by choosing all vegetables or tofu with the entrees. I love the Red Curry with tofu and the Pad Thai with tofu and no egg. The Garden Rolls and Curry Puffs are incredible and a must try. My husband gets the pad broccoli every time. I've both dined in and gotten take out. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious and the staff is very friendly as well. Rutherford Thai is a true gem in Rutherford County!

This is another reason I drive to the small town of Rutherford, a small hidden gem serving some of the best Thai food I’ve had in North Carolina. Pad Se Ew easily became a favorite dish, but everything I have tried on the menu has been delicious. You’re going to want to try the curry puffs as well.

This is my favorite restaurant in the area. Actually this is the only restaurant I ever really get food at… My wife is vegan so this is great if you want choices without meat etc. for appetizers we always get springs rolls and/or the curry puffs(i think thats the name) the crispy tofu one is nice as well. My fav dish is the drunken noodle with tofu, for my wife i think she prefers the basil fried rice with tofu i think it is. And the mango sticky rice…thee manGOo sticky riceeeee!!! Oh..my…. I could eat just that one if i had a few orders worth 😉 but seriously it is very good. I prefer it with extra of the coconut cream sauce they give with it. And of course the family that runs the place are always the most friendly & kind folks than any restaurants ive been and seem to be working very hard. And i always leave appreciative of the delicious food they served me

Hands down the best Thai food within 100 miles. So much flavor and so fresh. A hidden treasure.

My wife and I ate here along with another couple and the restaurant is very small. We had to fit four people at a table that was probably meant for two people, but the booth could easily fit four people. Try to picture that in your head, yes the table was half the size. We waited for our drinks for at least 20 minutes and even longer for our food. I don't think I would eat here again mainly because I don't live in the area, but if I did I might give them a second shot.

Another great meal at Rutherford Thai. Extensive menu of Thai specialties from appetizers to elaborate entrees. Every selection we have tried has had outstanding flavor, was generously portioned, fresh and hot. A friendly, small, family operation in a cozy spot just off main street in Rutherfordton. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic food. It is a family owned business where the owners take great care in preparing each meal. Not a fast food destination, meals are cooked to order so expect 15-20 minute wait times for meal prep. Highly recommend!

Great food, good portions, great staff. I got a Thai tea, spring rolls, and drunken noodles. I got to try some of the curry too and really enjoyed it all. The space was really small and they were unable to accommodate two large parties. 1/7 of our party has to stand at the table throughout dinner (yikes) but just be aware if you plan to go with more than 4 people.

Rutherford Thai is a small restaurant with six booths and 2 large tables. We went on a Saturday night and had to wait about 20 minutes. The service was great and the food was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in or near Rutherfordton.

So I got the potpourri shrimp dish on the chef's specialty menu, without meat...so no crab and no shrimp, and it was delicious!!!!! I'm pretty sure it's just as good if not better with the seafood in it too but sometimes I like to get my rice dishes without the meat. This was by far the best Thai fried rice dish I've ever had in my entire life!! I want MORE!

Incredible Food and Wonderful Staff!

We're not Thai experts nor "foodie" types, but discovered Rutherford Thai a few years ago and have been regular visitors ever since. This latest visit did not disappoint, rewarding us with flavorful Thai entrees, generous portions and friendly service in an older but clean and well appointed small dining room just a block off scenic Rutherfordton's main street. Order your refills when your meal arrives to avoid long waits, as this seems to be a small family operation with limited staff. Prices are reasonable, within a dollar or two per entree of local restaurants serving far more conventional food; $40-$50 will feed a couple with tea and an appetizer and entrees. This is a little hidden gem.

A real find in the middle of a country town.

In an area with not a lot of diverse food options this is definitely outstanding Thai food. Great price, portions and ambiance.

My food and service at Rutherford Thai has always been above par. I took a friend from Thailand there and he said it was the best Thai food he has had in the US.

Went out for my boyfriend's birthday meal and got take out 7/13. At least we ate outside nearby because I found the tip of a latex glove in my Dunken Noodles. I went back in and they made me a new one but wouldn't refund my meal because "they didn't know how to work the credit card machine for refunds and the owners are weird like that" - is what I was told by the girl working the register. I spent $50 for a nice meal on a special occasion and received poor service and a contaminant in my food. Some people have latex allergies not to mention I'm left to wonder if someone cut themselves and bled into the dish I consumed before finding a circular piece of a glove in there. That is a pretty weird practice, she was right about that. Hope the $13 for my meal to them was worth me sharing this horrendous experience. McDonald's or a high class steakhouse would've refunded a meal if they served a glove to someone, except the management at Rutherford Thai, they are above this concept of customer service, which has always been lacking but the food was good... until now.

This place has never messed up my order! They make the best food in at least a 50 mile radius, and the owners are amazingly generous hardworking people! The spring rolls are immaculate btw, so is the basil fried rice. If you are reading this review GO! Don’t read just eat (at Rutherford Thai) it’s really that good

I had the pleasure of dining here a few days ago after hearing friends and family rave about the food. It's a very small restaurant and the seating is limited, but it makes it feel more exclusive. The menu was extensive with many, many options to choose from. I was able to sample the spring rolls, curry puffs and the steamed dumplings. All were delicious appetizers. I chose the Pad See Ew as my main dish and it was exactly what I wanted in terms of portion size and flavor. I hope to return frequently to taste more of their delicious menu items.

The food was so fresh and delicious. Kind Servers and fast service. Even the plants in the restaurant are well maintained, nice touch to details.

Ordered takeout last night from Rutherfordton Thai and as always, it was delicious!!!! Warming up the leftovers now. Favorites too numerous to mention. So glad to have them in Rutherfordton.

From Charlotte and traveled the world. Rutherfordton Thai is as good as any Thai place I have been. The locals have no clue how lucky they are. Red chicken curry, green chicken curry, bun bo xao and drunken noodles are off the chart!

I have spent considerable time in Thailand over the years. The food at Rutherford Thai is the real deal and a favorite when entertaining out of town guests.
