Photo 1: While sick, a friend sent me Curry Chicken, Garlic Naan,Samosa and Rice...Food was comforting and spice level helped open Nadal passages. Highly recommend this restaurant. Photo 2: Coworker gave me a giftcard so I did take out Chicken Biryani and Naan bread. Very tasty. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. NOTE: Saffron temporarily is in a different location( in front of the actual address) than posted and it is confusing.

I decided to stop for some dinner while in Greenville and was so glad that I did. The chicken Tikka masala and garlic naan were delicious. I will definitely eat here again the next time that I am in town.

Food is great and service good. I liked the other building better.Our table was too small.

We had six dishes among us. All were delicious and spiced perfectly. The staff was very nice and the restaurant smells like you would expect, aromas of spices . Highly recommended

If you have never had Indian food, this will probably be a wonderful place. If you’ve had very good Indian food, you will be disappointed. The paneer is flavorless, almost like tofu. They made the food spicy, which I was surprised because most restaurants say spicy and only mean an extra twist of black pepper, but it lacked flavor. We ordered 3 vegetarian items for takeout. 2 paneer items and one kofta. There is very little paneer or kofta in the containers. Not worth 18.00 for each order. Hopefully there is another Indian restaurant in town…

Folks this place is the Real Indian restaurant in town. Great food, the staff is excellent and always greet you with a warm smile. Do not go anywhere until you actually stop by and try it yourself.Now it is quite busy so may want to check it out earlier but same customer service anytime you visit. Also new items on the menu make it Fun to order different items and share with the family or group ✅

The food came out slower than expected but it was very tasty. Go if you are not in a hurry. Chicken coconut curry was very good.

The staff is polite and attentive and loved the vibe here. Every dish we tried was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Hands down, one of the best Indian food I’ve had recently! Must try the Tandoori Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh!

This place seems pretty popular and this the service is really slow, and although I didn’t much enjoy my food, the Lassi was good (warm) and everyone at the table loved their food so I’d recommend Saffron to lovers of Northern Indian food! Many vegetarian options on the menu as well.

Terrific Indian cuisine. Since moving to the area we have struggled a little to find our favorite types of foods. Indian being one of them. We struggle no longer. Saffron is great. The chicken tikka is very good, rice is good to perfection and naan is just right. Eating at restaurant is better than delivery but even delivery is very solid in a pinch. Highly recommend.

The food was just plain delicious. They were remodeling, so the atmosphere took a little hit. But the food made up for it. Had a wonderful meal.

Taste is Ok, but service zero, I asked them to put a plate to eat food, but not a single plate, not even a spoon, if they not providing, they supposed to say no to me when I order, so I can buy from somewhere else.

It was very good. Best indian food around. Ordered aloo gohbi, papad, veg samosa, mulligatawny, onion chutney, mint chutney, tamarind sauce. Love that everything vegan is clearly marked on the menu. Have eaten here several times both dine in and take out. Was a little disappointed one time they forgot my husband's salmon Tika masala but was charged for it. They corrected the problem.

My friend and I came here while visiting the area. I love Indian and was super excited to try this place. The garlic naan was the best part of the meal for me. We both ordered chicken vindaloo medium hot and the spice was not giving what I’ve come to expect when eating Indian food. It was an average meal and I’d likely not return. Staff was friendly and service quick.

I visited this restaurant on Friday eve. Overall is great experience . We were 6 person and waited for 15-20 mins to accommodate. Food is great and good service. I strongly recommend this place to visit.

Delicious lunch for a reasonable price and quality food.

The customer service here has gone to absolute trash since they moved next door. The unmarked host stand (where the owner stands that has been ignoring you) is in the back of the store and if you stand near the front door like any other restaurant you will be ignored along with the 10-15 or so other people waiting for a table. If you walk past everyone and go to the pulpit stand in the rear of the restaurant they will sit you near immediately. There are no signs, no flow, nobody greeting people at the door. Prepare to be ignored if you don't know the secret to get a table. I used to love this place. No more.

The chaat appetizer was great. We also ordered tandoori chicken, mataar paneer, lamb tikka. All very good. I forgot picture of the dessert, kulfi and ras malai, both delicious

The best Indian restaurant around!

The food here is excellent. I ordered the paneer masala, and thoroughly enjoyed. The sauce was tangy and accentuated the paneer. The service was also excellent. The wait staff continuously checked on us, refilling water glasses and seeing if everything was to our liking. I will continue to frequent this establishment not only for the excellent food, but also the outstanding service.

I had to pick my husband up at the airport and drive an hour and a half to our home. His plane was late so I spent the time waiting looking for a restaurant that would be open. This was the only place I found that was open and didn’t require reservations. Although we arrived during their closing hour, we were welcomed, seated and served graciously. We liked the number of both vegetarian and meat choices on their menu, and that most of the other diners were Indian. We sat next to an Indian family that were speaking both English and Hindi. They were clearly enjoying the food - a good sign. I had a paneer and my husband had goat curry. We both enjoyed it and loved the garlic naan. I love kheer, but was disappointed with this one, which was lumpy and lacked flavor. We wish we’d ordered the dinner for 2 and would do that next time.

If you want good Indian food, go here. Stop reading reviews, your tables are being given away to everyone else who's coming. Speaking from someone who's been to India, they make great food here. There's a reason they need to expand their restaurant. In terms of service, to be honest they are great, but not American service. They will get you great food, drink, and refill your water plenty, but they're busy. They aren't going to stay around and chat, just be aware of that. I'm only giving the service rating 3 stars so you read this and are prepared. The service is not lacking. Quick notes: The garlic naan is 10/10 worth it. The spice scale is based on "white scale". If you're proud of eating hot Cheetos, go mild. If you like spice, I personally do medium-hot, hot is a bit much.

First time ever going to a Indian restaurant, was not disappointed! They are in the middle of renovations at the old building so they are In a leasing building but it was still very nice. You are greeted with pleasant smells but wasn't quite sure if we seat our selfs or wait. Ordered bread and 2 meals and they were fantastic. I myself got medium hot and it was the perfect build of spice without being overwhelming. My lady got mild and it was Indeed mild lol. I am excited to go back when they have their actual restaurant open. Will recomend to anybody to try this place.

This is, no joke, now on my top 5 favorite restaurants in GVL. Been living in the upstate for 10 years and I’m mad at myself for not discovering Saffron earlier!!

I have been going to Saffron’s once a week for about five years. Not only is the food absolutely amazing, but their services is top-notch every single time. Highly recommended!!

Best Authentic Indian food in the Upstate. I have like everything we have tried.

Food is always great, but they continue to act like I’m here to steal someone’s order. When I come here quite often for pickup. I tell them my name and show my online receipt and the guy always gives me a hard time about “confirming my order” and continues to question me on how he’s suppose to know the order is mine? This is why i will never dine in here!! I always feel very unwelcomed and never greeted at the door.

First time eating here or even having Indian cuisine and I have to say it was every delicious. If u have plans to go here bring your appetite because it is a lot of food for the price and worth every penny I will be back to try more of the food in the near future to the staff if you guys and gals see this thank you all it was a very pleasant experience.

If you truly love Punjabi food and don’t want to ruin your time n mood please avoid this place. I don’t know how this restaurant has 4.5 ratings whoever comes there to eat must not know the taste of the real food. We ordered paneer tikka and vegetables korma, paneer tikka gravy was thick tasted like tomato purée/paste mixed in with spices I didn’t eat veg korma at all it was bad. We had some other items as well which was not tasty at all. We were party of 10 wasted time and money. I hope owner or manager reads this and try to improve the food to go with the improvemed location. Service was not bad, location is good and modern.

Delicious, authentic curries and the Naan is about the best I've ever had. Looking forward to trying more of their menu items.

i dont like cutting my mouth up with bones and grustle. get rid of the bones before you serve the dish. all people serving need to learn english.

We visit Indian restaurants in every city we visit even though we know nothing beats India Palace-Tulsa…until now! Wow…Tandoori Chicken…perfect. Chicken Tikka Masala…perfect. Paneer Saag…perfect. Tofu Curry…well, it’s tofu. Chicken Curry…perfect. Naan….buttery perfection. Service…great.

My husband has been there recently twice for lunch and they charged him dinner price. The problem was reported yet the owner didn’t care to fix. Instead, the owner claimed that they assumed my husband ordered dinner to “justify” their scams. Watch out your bills, even for those who call in to take out.

Great atmosphere, very busy restaurant, clean perfect upscale looking restaurant. And most important the food was Great. Come early because everybody wants to come early as well.

We LOVE Indian food. And typically we really enjoy this place. We’ve traveled to several countries and this is still one of our tops! Unfortunately, we ordered takeout tonight and the food was not good. We got the tikka masala and the korma, and it was cooked with so much butter that you could taste the butter with every bite of curry. So much so that we didn’t finish it. Note to the restaurant - please use less butter! We love your food but don’t want to experience that again.

It's immediately apparent that the cooks in this place are very skilled. The food is simply fantastic and I really appreciated the elegant design and clean dining area. Highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates fine Indian cuisine.

I have to say that I'm a huge fan of Indian food, and Saffron doesn't disappoint. The food here is excellent. The naan, coconut shrimp, butter chicken, even the rice was great! I would highly recommend. But make sure you have reservations, first time we went was 2 hour wait so we had to leave. Next day we went back with reservations for lunch and got in with about 1/2 hour wait. It's worth the wait!

Incredible food with attentive service. The potato samosas were large and full of flavor, served with a delightful tamarin sauce. Mango chicken was sweet and sour and savory and delicious. Lamb korma was incredibly tender. Highly recommend!

I ordered a single entrée + Naan for takeout. The person who answered the phone was hurried, when i arrived to pickup, The manager (man in white shirt) didnt even make eye contact or greet. The lady at the register was too busy to hand me my food after i paid for it. Overall the service is lousy, not a smile, not a hello. just a pitiful way to start a meal.

Excellent food served at the spice level we each asked for, as promptly as possible late on a Friday night. Fewer than 15 minutes to be seated with 8PM arrival (party of 2), no reservation, full house. Service was prompt and polite, not pushy. No notable art, no music: efficient, aesthetically minimalist dining experience in dark grey booths and off-white table tops. Servers all have an unsmiling seriousness to them as though to remind you that they are committed to the quality of your culinary transaction, regardless of other factors. The "pop" is all in the food - which is the point, after all. They have beaten their main competitor - India Palace - in choice of spice level and in speed of service, but perhaps without appreciating the impact of an apparently-somewhat cheerful wait staff, which it took India Palace over 20 years to learn; and in atmosphere, which need not be totally barren of any cultural landmarks to be a draw to the restaurant. My wife and I will be back. Excellent food!

My girlfriend asked me to eat there. I read didn't think I would like Indian food. But I was wrong. It was fantastic. SO much flavor. And wonderful lunch specials. Always get the Garlic Naan. It is simply the best and worth every penny. I see everyone ordering it. And the wait staff goes way above and beyond. It's a joy to eat there.

Have now been to Indian restaurants from NYC to London and Saffron in Greenville, SC holds up to any of them! Never had a dish I didn’t like. Many vegetarian options for those looking for those accommodations, naans are phenomenal, reasonably priced, and always clean and organized.

This place is great. We've eaten here 4-5 times since moving to SC. The food is flawless, they will make any dish to the spice temp you prefer, the portions are hearty, everything we've tried has been delicious. My husband loves the lamb, Tikka Masala is my favorite but I try to mix it up. Last time we had the Saag Paneer and it was just so good. From the outside, it's a case of "don't judge a book by its cover" but the inside of the restaurant is always spotless, nicely decorated, and very elegant. The service is prompt and they are very helpful if you're unfamiliar with the menu. They have a full bar and a nice wine selection as well. The lights are ever so slightly dimmed, giving that intimate, cozy vibe. I would recommend for a date night or a birthday or just because it's Tuesday. It's my favorite place in the Greenville area hands down.

We order takeout at least once a week. Almost every time we order we ask for no cumin seed in our rice. I’m allergic to it.. They never listen to this request. It’s white rice, so it should be an option to get just the rice without the cumin.. not sure why they force it upon me when my body rejects it. So I ask, please give a cumin seedless option for a white rice order. I enjoy Indian food and have been really supportive of your business. Thank you.

Incredible food! The most delicious chicken tikka masala. We’ve been going here for several years. I wish there was an option for just rice with no cumin seed. The rice comes with a lot of cumin seed, my wife is allergic to it and I would spend about 15-20 mins just to take out the cumin seeds. I’ve been doing this for over 3 years. They can use cumin powder or give the option for just rice. Thank you.

Stopped here for lunch & it wasn't bad, not brilliant either. Place was clean & staff pleasant. Ordered a goat vandaloo & was asked how spicy I wanted it. First time I have been to an Indian restaurant that asked that question. Vandaloo is a hot spicy curry & I will not be returning to this establishment. Curry was nowhere hot enough & the amount of bone & fat on the meat was horrendous. Tandoori chicken was spectacular though & the onion relish was delicious.

This place is absolutely AMAZING. Best Indian food in the area by far. The portions are GENEROUS. Staff is super friendly. If for dinner I highly recommend the Tandoori Chicken Tikka.

My spouse and I decided to spend a Saturday in Greenville, and when we searched for Indian food on Google, Saffron topped the list. With limited experience in Indian cuisine, we thought it would be a promising choice, and our expectations were met. What we particularly enjoyed was the option to customize our own lunch dish, selecting a protein, sauce, appetizer, and heat level. This flexibility made it convenient for us to explore different flavors. Based on the server's recommendation, my wife tried the Lamb Korfu, while I opted for paneer and saag. The dishes were flavorful, boasting a rich blend of spices. Despite the saag not having the most appealing appearance, it was a prime example of not judging a book by its cover—the taste was absolutely delightful. The pricing was reasonable, and our entire meal, including a tip, came to about $42. We're definitely looking forward to dining here again on our next visit to Greenville.

They definitely need a bigger space, but their food is delicious! I’ve already been another time and want to make it a regular food option when debating where to go. Looks like a good place to have a date. I brought my children and seems other people tend to as well.

Loved the food at Saffron! Everything was delicious and they have generous portions. Their lamb samosas were the best I’ve had. I would make a reservation for the weekends because it fills up quickly and we had to wait an hour to be seated.

Great meal and service. One of the top Indian restaurants I’ve been to. The only critiques I have are that there should be better wine by the glass options, and I would love more meal options that highlight black cardamom. Will definitely be back.

This is my first time here and I was very impressed with the food and the service! I had the Lamb Samosa, the Muligatawny soup, the garlic naan bread and the Lamb Saag (medium hot). I was blown away by how good everything was! I will be back!!

Food is good however they’ve skimped on the chicken in chicken curry and if you order for pickup and they say 20 minutes it’s actually an hour and a half wait. Customer service was decent except if you’re a mixed race couple.

Ordered mango chicken curry mild-tasted like curry made with sauce and tomato puree, with no flavor. Garlic naan is too thick for my liking. Onion bhajji was dry and tasteless. Disappointing meal honestly. Even the samosa was average, get better samosa at vgo grocery. All this after almost 30 minutes wait.

Recently moved to Greenville. Based on all the great reviews, we picked Saffron for our family of 8 Christmas dinner! We selected a variety of meat dishes! Excellent service! All selections were well prepared, presented, and absolutely delicious! Staff was gracious, patient, and efficient! YES, it was busy! Even had a news repoter broadcasting from this great restaurant! We will become regular customers!
